Omori has a Lego Ideas set! This awesomeness is brought to you by designer FoodIsScarce.

Under the cut, I'll be showing more images, explaining my thoughts, and give clarifications on how Lego Ideas works for this set. But if you want to skip that, link is here.

Lego Ideas Neighbor's Room and White Space Set Breakdown

To start off, this set has a whopping three components, all of which stand alone.

First, we have Neighbor's room!

The colors are honestly so nice in this mock-up. Lego has a fairly limited palette, but being bright and poppy works really well here.

Compared to the in-game room, it's pretty compact, but that makes sense so it doesn't dominate your shelves. Everything important is there, to outstanding detail. The leaves may ride up higher above the doorframe, but it doesn't break the immersion for me. It all feels like a piece of really nice fanart or even concept art.

The yellow cat is the centerpiece and I am very impressed with it. It isn't as stretched out as the original, though that's affected by the build size, but the shape of the paws, ears and head are spot-on and the face sticker really sells it.

Also, building the set sideways so it's smooth? Genius in my books. Sure, the minifigs won't stick, but all the smooth edges in this make the set stand out from Lego's lineup without seeming like a jarring oddity. Kind of like Omori's world compared to a bunch of other RPGs, really, so it's fitting.

I guess if I have a nitpick it'd be that the leaves are entirely different in vibe due to being all fluffy and rounded instead of the big sharp shapes in the original, but I don't think that's even really a bad thing. Just part of the Lego-ifying process. Also I groan at how I know I will place the cat's eyes wrong. Stickers are the bane of my existence. For Yellow Cat though, I would in theory persist.

Next, we have Mari's picnic blanket!

Gotta be honest, this caught me off guard, even as someone who was keeping track of this project for a while, but this is AWESOME. Colors are nailed, the existing basket and fruit pieces translate so well, and I just want to place all my fave figs on it immediately. I do hope that Mari's square could be subbed out with something with studs to keep her in place, as nothing else seems to be (maybe the basket has a 1 by 2 piece keeping it locked?).

I think it's an excellent choice even if it doesn't appear in either main room because you can plonk it by any other set or the huge pile of loose bricks you haven't gotten around to sorting yet and boom. You've just made a new corner of Headspace!

Last but certainly not least, White Space!

The computer and tissue box I think were really well done. Smooth place also tickles my fancy. I'm not as sold by the suspended light bulb; some white walls that maybe has a claw on the side would have helped sell the room more to me, I think. But it's solid.

And then you get to my favorite part in the room:

What about the minifigs?

This set still has you covered!

In this current iteration it includes six minifigs for your main characters as well as the cat and snake seen in earlier pictures. Everyone except Hero and Mari seem to be those shorter models, which always used to annoy me as a kid cause I couldn't bend the legs, but gets a pass here because remembering that height difference is nice.

The hair is a hot point of contest with the comments and Reddit posts. I'll explain more below, but Lego Ideas has rules about custom molds for new figures, so these were the closest the creator could get. And hey, I think Hero is spot on!

All the outfits and faces are custom prints, which are far easier than custom molds, and I think were done really well! Basil's top might be a bit bright, but otherwise the colors are perfect, and so is all the printing.

I also saw that Mari, Basil and Aubrey all had one extra face, which is rad. Not sure yet if Hero and Kel do too or if it's just the girls (I should assume Omori is just slate-faced as ever).

Just one more note: I love how spoiler-free this set is. You know everything in the first few moments of play. Our community is really bad with spoilers, I admit, so this is perfect for a shelf.

How does Lego Ideas even work? Is my vote worth it?

Short answer: Heck yeah!

Long answer:

Lego Ideas is a really popular program with a lot of new builds all the time, and people put a lot of work into both the models and promoting them just for the off-chance of it becoming a product.

I compiled some questions you might have based on this set specifically, but there's plenty of info yourself if you want to learn more.

How does a set get selected?

Lego Ideas has three intake periods a year for products that get over 10k signatures between the last period and that date. Each intake only has a select few that actually get to that mark; the record number in 2021 according to Wikipedia is 57 in one 2021 intake. It sounds like a lot, but in the site's 10-year run it's had over 135,000 ideas shared, not including a bunch that would have been struck down prior to going live due to breaking rules.

Each set gets 60 days to meet that goal on first launch, then an additional 365 once 100 people have signed on. Getting 1,000 supporters gives you an extra 6 months on top of that, and 5,000 (the halfway mark) another 6 months.

Meeting that 10k mark is non-negotiable for that specific set to receive the expert review through Ideas, though successful ideas that are lower may spark inspiration from their own teams.

Do I need to pledge money?

No! Lego Ideas is not a Kickstarter or crowdfund campaign. Those ask for money as they need a way to produce and distribute the product. Lego handles this on the creator's behalf.

All you need is to make a free Lego account and click the support button. You don't even have to enable email notifications on signup.

Where will I find the set then if it's made?

Anywhere else you find Lego! Even toyshops I go to have a small shelf for Ideas sets. If none of your local retailers have it, it'd be on online storefronts worldwide.

But Omori is a licensed product!

So are most of Lego Ideas' concepts that make it to becoming a set! Out of the 65 sets announced and confirmed for production (or who have already had their run!) just 29 are not tied to an IP.

So Omocat will be involved?

Yes. If the idea gets far enough, Lego would reach out to Omocat and any other copyright holders of Omori to discuss how to proceed. They will also get a say in any tweaks, and likely make a licensing fee off of Lego.

However, due to the Ideas streamline, the set likely won't be sold on Omocat's storefront (and if they are, it'd be because Omocat got a few sets to sell from them; they'll never be exclusive to Omocat's store).

Will the creator get paid?

If it makes it, yes! Lego Ideas people get a 1% cut. It's not much, but for all the work it gets to 10k I think it's earned.

But Omori isn't for kids!

Guess what: Neither are most Ideas! They're packed in black boxes and kept near the architecture and more advanced Technic sets targeted towards adults. Each set also has an age recommendation based both on set difficulty and the IP.

Is Omori even appropriate for Lego as a brand?

Omori is on the list of approved IP for Lego Ideas. This may be reviewed, but I think it will remain appropriate both because the set does not portray any of the concerning content in the game and because of the nature.

Lego says they won't make sets for franchises built around graphic violence, alcohol, or sex. Omori lacks all that. I doubt it would be yanked down based on that.

I don't care about Omori. Why should I support this?

First, why did you make it down here?

And second, look. I get it even as a fan. But if we can get an Omori set even to the review stage, that opens up the door for people to try with all other kinds of indie franchises. Undertale, Oneshot, Stardew Valley, Hollow Knight, whatever you think of!

Lego Ideas is a portal to Lego working with IP that isn't just owned by a mega corporation, and I think that is awesome.

my favorite omori theory of all time is the one where everything in Sunny's headspace must follow back to at least one thing in Faraway Town! There's some obvious ones like Space Ex-Boyfriend being a comic book character and the appearance of Neighbor's Room being derived from the treehouse.

But even in the smallest, most unnoticeable details still apply to this rule. Like the Dino's Dig food pyramid coming from a book about the food pyramid Sunny read as a kid, or Jash coming from Pet Rocks(and the company from which the Sproutmole Eater arcade machine in Gino's is from)

Though, there's one in particular that stands out among others. And that's the Present! They're very easy to acquire and use in Headspace, in fact their one of the first items you're able to purchase from Mailbox in Forest Playground. For such an easily attainable and probably overlooked item though, they bare a significant connection to the truth(at least a more significant connection than others like it)

When reading the descriptions of your Toys, the Present reads: "It's not what you wanted... Inflicts ANGER on a friend or foe." Which is eerily reminiscent of the friend's Christmas gift for Sunny, and his resentment toward the violin the more he is forced to practice for the recital with his sister.

It's also an emotion changing item, but specifically one that makes a party member or foe/boss angry. On the day of the recital, Sunny threw his violin down the stairs in frustration. "It's not what you wanted..." Could've easily been used as a description for this item to make a friend or foe sad too, but it doesn't.

In conclusion I believe that the Present item is a parallel to Sunny's frustration with playing an instrument, and story wise a way for Omori to further disguise the truth :D

i was really excited for today's prompt isnce i saw it and immediately thought of Severe Acrophobia which is the name of one of the tracks on the 3008 ost :D so i decided to do a little merge and drew neighbors room as like a little sky base in 3008 :3

“...Sunny…” Basil mumbled. “You’re not gonna leave me, right?”

Sunny took a deep breath. Basil’s grip on his arm tightened.

“Sunny?” Basil repeated.

Sunny looked down. He couldn’t meet the other’s gaze.

He shook his head no.

Basil let out a long breath he didn’t know he’d been holding. “Okay.”

Sunny tried subtly to pull his arm away. Basil didn’t let go.

“What are you doing?” Basil asked.

Sunny glanced up. “Nothing.”

“Stop trying to leave.” Basil replied firmly.

“I’m not.”

“You are.”

“...”

Awkward silence.

Sunny tugged on his arm again.

“Stop that…” Basil muttered.

“Can you let go..?” Sunny inquired quietly.

“No.”

“...okay.”

Basil’s gaze was fixed on where he was holding Sunny in place.

He yanked Sunny firmly down onto his bed next to him.

He still did not let go.

“This is a sleepover, right? You all sort of just decided to spend the night at my house. Why don’t you go back to sleep before I get even more upset?” Basil asked coldly.

Sunny nodded. “Okay.”

He liked sleeping, and for the record he didn’t particularly want to fight with Basil right now, with the state the other was in it didn’t seem wise.

Basil’s bed was pretty comfortable anyway.

He closed his eyes, and the world slowly faded into white.

He found himself in the comfortable emptiness of White Space. Mewo was asleep, and the lightbulb hung from the ceiling.

He sat there for a while until he heard a familiar clattering noise.

Omori stood up and picked up the shiny knife, and walked through the door.

He was immediately blinded by the bright colors of Neighbor’s Room.

He was pretty sure he was in Blackspace last time, but whatever. 

It’s not like he liked that place much anyhow. 

Aubrey looked up. “Omori!! You’re back!! We were so worried about you!” She immediately hugged him, knocking the wind out of his lungs.

Hero let out a sigh of relief. “Oh thank god… we’ve got to go tell Mari and Basil you’re okay, they’re worried out of their minds…”

Omori tilted his head. Basil? Wasn’t he missing?

…Eh… better not to question it.

Ok, I have an idea for an au where after fighting omori and telling his friends the truth, Sunny starts seeing creatures that are similar to Something, only he can see them following other people. They don’t seem to notice so Sunny chooses to ignore it, even when he can see the monsters growing and shrinking sometimes. 

During a visit to faraway, Sunny sees these kinds of monsters trailing his friends, but doesn’t say anything about it in fear of sounding crazy, even though the one following Kel looks particularly big. During the visit, Kel seems like his normal, cheerful self, but Sunny noted that he seemed unusually quiet and tired. When asked, Kel chalked that up to how much he was practicing for the upcoming basketball game, and he invites the whole gang to watch.

At the basketball game, everything seems normal, except that the monster is even bigger, and Kel looks even more tired than before. Still, he plays the game really well, helping his team score a lot of points. Near the end of the first quarter, Kel is getting ready to take a shot, when all of a sudden Sunny sees the monster grab him…

And Kel collapses.

Everyone freaks out, and Kel is rushed to the nurse’s office, with the rest of the gang following. The nurse says that Kel has a fever, and Sunny sees that the Something following Kel is the biggest it’s ever been. While Kel’s resting, Sunny falls asleep in one of the chairs, and somehow wakes up in whitespace. The door to the neighbor’s room is gone, but there’s an orange door with black cracks in its place.

Basically, in this au Sunny helps his friends fight off their own personal demons in their dreams before they can hurt them any further, while also trying to figure out why these monsters are attacking people in a more physical manner all of a sudden (and why he can see them in the first place)

The idea for the fight with Kel’s demon is that it’s a giant shadow creature that’s shining like a solar eclipse. Its hands are covering Kel’s mouth and have the image of a giant grin on them, and when provoked, it attacks with a bunch of spikes, like those on a cactus. All the while, Kel is yelling to sunny that he’s fine, even after everything that happened, and every time he says that, the monster heals itself.

HOW SKIBIDI TOILET IS CONNECTED TO OMORI (serious post)

As of today, December 18th, 2024, Skibidi Toilet has been added to the Fortnite item shop. Why should you care about that? I don't know but IM GONNA TALK ABOUT HOW I BELIEVE SKIBIDI TOILET IS CANON TO OMORI INSTEAD OF STUDYING FOR MY FINALS

Fortnite, the main connection link between Skibidi Toilet and Omori. Fortnite has done lots of collaborations, but sadly, no direct omori collabs yet. (OMOCAT AND EPIC PLEASE WE NEED SUNNY CRANKING 90s WITH HATSUNE MIKU, GOKU, AND GODZILLA WHILE WEARING THE SKIBIDI TOILET BACK BLING AND JAYS) Ahem, anyways, how does skibidi toilet connect if omori isn't even REMOTELY close to being in Fortnite? Well...

First, we have skibidi toilet, first added to the Fortnite item shop on December 18th, 2024 in Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 1. It is one of the MANY collaborations Fortnite has done. The Fortnite lore extends far beyond my brain can comprehend, but what I do know, is that any and all collaborations are canon to the Fortnite lore. This secures the validity of being canon in at least the Fortnite universe.

Another franchise that has collaborated with Fortnite is Capcom's Streetfighter.

First released on February 21st, 2021, in Chapter 2 Season 5, the collaboration canonized the characters Ryu and Chun-Li from Streetfighter in the Fortnite lore. For our purposes, only Ryu is crucial.

Ryu is a character that has been in many other collaborations before. However, only one of those is important here: Streetfighter's addition to the Super Smash Bros franchise.

Super Smash Bros is another franchise that has done many collaborations in the past, though not nearly as much as Fortnite has.

Ryu was first added to Super Smash Bros 4, also known as the 3DS and Wii U versions, as a DLC fighter, and is also in the base Super Smash Bros Ultimate for the Nintendo Switch. Ryu being in both Fortnite and Super Smash Bros ties the two's canons together, and any characters in both games.

In Super Smash Bros 4 and Ultimate, and in all previous Smash Bros games, Pokemon has been available as fighters and are key characters in the Smash Bros lore.

In Smash 4, the Pokemon Mewtwo, Lucario, Pikachu, Charizard and Jigglypuff are available as fighters, with even more in Smash Ultimate.

Omocat the company has not only worked directly with Pokemon to make exclusive Pokemon Center merchandise on multiple occasions, but Omocat herself has been a fan of Pokemon, and it has reflected in Omori.

In the first Pokemon games, Red, Green, and Blue, the player starts in a small house with a TV on the first floor. If you interact with the TV, it describes a movie. "There is a movie on TV. Four boys are walking on railroad tracks."

In Headspace in Omori, if you interact with the TV in Neighbor's Room, it says the exact same description.

Not only is this a cute reference by Omocat, but it also has canon validity to be there in the game. Dreams, or more specifically for our case, Headspace, often take aspects from Sunny's life. For example, some characters in Headspace are parallels to their real world people, like Berly and Kim, or Van and Vance.

In the Faraway photo album, on Basils birthday, one of the pictures is Sunny playing on a Gameboy.

Originally I had thought this was a Gameboy Color, but it could be either one due to the simplicity of the drawing. Either one works, since the Gameboy Color is compatible with the original Pokemon games anyway. While it's not confirmed which game he's playing, signs do point to a gen one Pokemon game because of the movie in Neighbor's Room and Omocat's connections to Pokemon.

Omori has connection to Pokemon, which has a connection to Super Smash Bros, which has a connection to Streetfighter, which has a connection to Fortnite, and finally, Fortnite has a connection to Skibidi Toilet, therefore making Skibidi Toilet canon to Omori.

The River Never Stops Flowing

This is a fan-fic of omori, I couldn't post it to Ao3 yet, so it's going here.

Chapter 1 - Permanent Sleepover

 Arriving at Basil's house, Sunny hesitated before knocking on the door. Memories flooded his mind, each one a reminder of the friendship they once (or perhaps still) shared. Taking a deep breath, he raised his hand and knocked, the sound echoing through the quiet street.

A few moments passed like an eternity. Abruptly, the door swung open, and there stood Basil, his eyes widening in surprise at the sight of Sunny standing before him. For a moment, neither of them spoke, the weight of their shared history hanging heavy in the air, Basil feeling as if his breath was being brutally dragged out of his lungs by the mere presence of his accomplice.

"S-Sunny," Basil whispered, his voice filled with emotion. "I never thought I'd see you again." Basil spoke before taking a deep breath.

“I-I wasn’t expecting you to come here. A-Aren’t you and your mom moving…?” Basil says, the blond’s blue eyes looking nervously and confused as he stares at Sunny. Noticing this, Sunny stares at Basil with a conflicted expression. 

    “S-so! Are you feeling b-better?” Basil said with a somewhat hopeful expression on his face, trying to change the topic as he lets Sunny in. Sunny stares blankly with a small, small, smile and slightly nods as he enters Basil's house.

Setting his bags aside, Sunny walks to the couch as he silently begins to stare at the TV. Sighing in relief softly as he calms down a bit, Basil soon follows Sunny as he stares at the TV as well, noticing the eternal blackness of the empty electronic device.

“O-oh, uh.. t-the TV isn’t on,” Basil says, nervously as he anxiously looks at Sunny. Sunny stares at Basil before responding with, “Yes.” voice in a quiet soft monotone voice. 

Basil just stares back with a nervous look and then sighs as he sits next to Sunny on the couch. Sunny glances at Basil for a bit before staring back at the TV.

“A-anyways, s-shouldn’t you be with y-your mom?” Basil suddenly asked Sunny with a somewhat concerned look.

Sunny shakes his head no in response, “ My mom said I should stay here.” His eyes locked onto Basil.

Basil, with a nervous glance, recoiled from the shock of the Sunny response. " Sunny is staying..?” Basil thought in confusion as he glanced at Sunny.

“I need.. I need to know… should I call Kel..? He is Sunny's neighbor.. Maybe he knows,” Basil thought to himself before taking a deep breath, as he suddenly got off the couch.

“I n-need to make a phone call!” Basil said, tone a panicked craze, causing him to run off to his room while shutting the door shut behind him.

The blond boy grabs his phone and begins to dial Kel’s number, his eyes and body shaking with every tap of the button. It rings for a bit before being picked up by Kel.

“ Yo what’s up Bas— “ Kel answered over the phone before being interrupted by Basil.

“Kel! Did Sunny-” Basil was interrupted in turn.

Before Basil could finish or even continue his sentence, Kel cut him off and said, “Sunny? Oh yeah I forgot to tell you! His mom told me to tell you that he was gonna stay with you from now on… yeah sorry, I forgot to tell you.” Kel’s tone is chill and nonchalant, as if this were some sort of simple and vain topic that could be easily tossed aside at a moment’s notice.

Basil immediately responds with, “ What!? B-but wasn't he and his mom moving away?!” Basil stuttered out, confused.

“His mom said it was because of him being in the hospital or something I don’t really remember, I was drinking orange joe,” Kel said nonchalantly, on Kel’s side of the phone call it can be heard that he was munching on some chips.

“O- oh… Does she k- know about the- uh… Ya know...” Basil hesitated, voice adorned with a nervous tone as he struggled to find the exact words to say, a bead of sweat lined down from his pale complexion.

“Yeah she's been knowing” Kel appears to be very careless of sunny staying, his tone was very much not caring at all.

“S-so he i-is staying.. Like for good?” Basil stuttered as he hoped for Sunny to stay. He has a small hopeful smile on his face as his eyes are frantic.

“Yeah, his mom was saying something about how Sunny needs a place to stay and blah blah blah… Now that I think about it I should’ve probably listened more.” Kel says crunching down on chips, obviously still not caring much about what she had to say.

“So.. that’s why… Thanks Kel!” Basil hangs up the call, seemingly eager as he runs out his room from the hall straight to the living room. Sunny is just sitting there on the couch as he stares at Basil running to the living room. Basil has a tear of sweat on his forehead as he walks into the couch next to sunny.

“S- since you’re st- staying.. Would you like a room..?” Basil says nervously as he stares at sunny, sunny’s dark filled eyes of space closes as he nods. Basil, still looking nervous, opens his mouth to say, “F- follow me..”

Sunny stands up still staring at Basil with those mismatched soulless eyes. Basil looking nervous and feeling uneasy for Sunny’s robotic moving self walks to where his grandma’s room was. Sunny follows as Basil opens the door and even though the medical supplies and equipment is no longer there.. Basil still feels as if his grandmother was still there.

“S- so S- Sunny.. U- um t- this will be y- your r- room.” Basil says, staring at Sunny attempting to not tear up. Sunny seems to be unphased of Basil tearing up and walks to the bed. Sunny stares fixing up the bed a little before hopping in.

“Good.” Sunny says with a cold, almost robotic blank expression as he lays down on it flat. Basil looks a little distraught and confused when Sunny says this. He stares at Sunny, noticing Sunny’s face is blank; it seems as if he is glancing upon something that Basil was unable to notice. 

“Sunny W- what do you mean g- good??” Basils asks in question as he says very worried as to what sunny meant.

“The bed is good” Sunny stares at something while still confusing Basil of what he means and what he is looking at.

“D- do you mean the bed i- is good??” Basil hopes that's what he meant as he stares into Sunny's black eyes. Sunny is still laying on the bed, sits up and nods.

“O- oh, t- that's good” Basil says with a small smile as closes his blue eyes. Basil looks at the door to the room and has seemingly calmed down.

“H- hey S- Sunny..?” Basil asked, his tone nervous and shaky, his hands and eyes shivering. Sunny still sitting up staring at something looking at Basil.

“I- I am gonna go visit K- Kel to ask h- him some q- questions….!” Basil says with a lot of nervousness in his voice with him moving a lot during it. Sunny nods and Basil slowly walks out of the room. As Basil exits the room Sunny gets up and walks around. A door closes when Basil leaves, leaving Sunny home alone which gives him time to explore his now home.

When Sunny gets up he gets a little dizzy and falls. His stomach rumbles with a roar. Sunny proceeds to get up looking brittle and skinny. Still in that hospital gown he was forced to wear. He walks slowly but steps out of the room to the hallway, furnished unlike his empty house his was. 

He walks slowly, every walk with a little more bounce. Quiet as a mouse he is, he walks to Basil’s room. He opens the wooden door and sees everything has been left since the fight. Sunny breathes a little more heavily as his stomach is still rumbling and is feeling rather cold and weak.

Sunny’s only eye itches and he closes it. But he can still see through his dead white eye which he is surprised about. He looks rather confused but realizes the prosthetic white eye feels rather weird and hears a faint voice. Unable to distinguish what it sounds like. Sunny is a little frightened and attempts to leave the room but before he does he is able to hear and distinguish the voice. It’s Mari’s.

“Heya there little brother! Don’t worry it's just me.” Mari says in her warming and rather distinguishing soft voice. Sunny looks a little shocked hearing Mari and looks around frantically and before he can open his normal eye Mari stops him.

“Woah little brother! It’s okay, it's just me!” Mari says attempting to reassure Sunny. Sunny panicking and is unable to open his regular eye, Sunny looks around frantically. Sunny runs out of the room and storms into the bathroom where he looks for something. He then notices his dead eye looks a lot like something pupil. 

Sunny breathes in and out, calming down and focusing. Sunny stares at himself as if nothing happened. The quietness of the room filled the empty void of the bathroom. Sunny shivers as the bathroom is cold. Sunny blinks with his prosthetic white eye and everything suddenly turns gray. The gray tint makes any color seem dark and shallow. 

Sunny is confused and frantic but calms down, he witnesses a glow from Basil's room. The glow is rather comforting to Sunny and the attraction of it made Sunny want to follow the glow. Sunny walks to the Basil room terrified with bad posture that his mother would always say he should fix. As Sunny entered the room it seemed to be in Basil’s closet. Sunny looking rather frantic calms down and opens it. To find a glow behind all of the clothes is Sunny’s hoodie.

Sunny was surprised by this revelation as he had lost his oversized hoodie a while ago. It was given to him by Mari due to Sunny begging for a blanket but was never comfortable in any of the blankets so Mari bought him an oversized hoodie due to it. Sunny loved the soft hoodie until he stayed over at Basil’s and mysteriously lost it. Sunny was rather sad about losing it and thought it would never be found. But witnessing that Basil had it in his wardrobe was curious. It must’ve gotten lost because it was the back of Basil’s wardrobe. It looks worn but it could be just because of old age. It’s rather clean like it was washed in a specific way. 

The glow from the hoodie attracts Sunny to grab it and wear it. As he puts it on his other eye opens wide and everything is back in color. He is now wearing his old oversized hoodie which is now just perfectly sized. It fits him perfectly, baggy and comfortable. The black color’s a little faded but the black dye that is on the hoodie pockets seems to not be very faded. Sunny is wondering how long it’s been in the back of the clo-

“I’m home sunny!!’ Basil yelled happily, Sunny didn’t have time to think so he hurriedly closed the closet door as he frantically heard footsteps from Basil. “Sunny? Where are you?” Before Sunny can even process where to stand, the door opens. “Sunny..?” Basil said confused, but his confusion stuck short as he stared at what Sunny was wearing. His expression is all so distraught like he got caught but he immediately goes back to a normal friendly confused expression. 

“S- Sunny, where- you found your lost hoodie!” Basil stutters over his words as his tone was worried as can be. “W- where was it?” Basil asked very very politely and worried. Sunny points to his closet and opens and it points to it being in the very back of the closet. Sunny stares at Basil and Basil calms down and states, “O- oh! U- uh… it must’ve gotten lost in the back of my closet all those years ago..!” He said trying to give a reason why it was in HIS closet. Sunny just stared at Basil and nodded his head in agreement. Sunny believed Basil, as Basil in his head had no reason to lie.

Basil’s front door could be heard being opened, and then a big thump that could either be the floor or the kitchen counter. Basil looks terrified and so does Sunny. They leave the room and slowly walk down the hallway. Creaky floors as they walk carefully. Basil could see the person and went from scared to calm. Sunny still couldn’t see the person. Sunny, still terrified, didn't have to think as he heard footsteps walking towards him.

“Hi basil- Sunny? What are you doing here?” It was Polly, she just came home seemingly from a long grocery trip. She looked confused that he was here. 

“I thought you were moving out?” the light weight high pitched sweet caring voice said towards Sunny, Sunny just stared not knowing what to do. Basil notices his unresponsiveness.

“Sunny is uh.. staying with u- us from now on!...” Basil said nervously trying not to sound like a broken record. It’s an awkward silence which then Polly speaks up and responds with, “A- alrighty then! I’ll make dinner then!” She was obviously very awkward about the whole situation. Polly walks back to the kitchen and starts preparing food

Basil walks towards Polly while staring at Sunny. Sunny stares back until the door frame makes Basil unable to be seen. Sunny stares and calms down. He walks to the living room and sits down on the couch. When he does so he witnesses Basil helping out with food.

After the food is done being cooked, Polly puts it on a plate and Basil is helping prepare the table. Food is oiling with deliciousness as the steak steams with fog that could rival the Amazon’s fog.

“Food is ready” Polly said walking towards Sunny smiling awkwardly, it was apparent that she was nervous that she was unfamiliar with him. Sunny nods, walking towards the table and sitting down.

Basil sits across from Sunny smiling slightly. Polly sits next to Basil also smiling but nervously. Basil and Polly have small talk but Sunny isn’t paying attention, he’s staring at his plate, eating rather slowly. He doesn’t seem to use the knife as he is slowly ripping apart the steak with forks. 

“Sunny, you okay?” Polly says nervous as she fakely smiles at him. She stares at him for a response and it seems Basil’s gonna respond for him.

“Yes.” Sunny said as soon as Basil opened his mouth. Polly with a relieved but still nervous voice responds with, “Alright, well do you need help cutting your steak? You’re not eating it.” Sunny stared down at the steak and looked back at her. He nodded as she proceeded to grab the plate gently and cut the steak into pieces that were pretty small. 

Basil looked rather confused as Sunny loves steak so him not cutting it up himself is rather concerning. He keeps his composure as it’s nothing to be really concerned about, at least he doesn’t think it is. Polly finishes cutting it and sits back down on her seat. He stares at the cut up steak, seeing its juices flow out of it. The red juices.. Sunny then starts eating the steak.

“Thank you” Sunny said mumbling, his posture seemed rather alert. “No problem.” Poly says, smiling genuinely by the looks of it. Sunny eating the steak slowly, raising his arm and hand to his mouth with the fork holding the juicy steak. He bites it and it tastes really good. For the first time Sunny feels at home, he smiles. 

10 minutes later 

Sunny is now in his newfound bed. Under the covers of the thin green sheets. He feels bad for laying in a bed that was recently owned by Basil’s grandmother. He stares softly at the flower under the moonlight. Light shining off of the white petals shaped like a bird. Sunny calmly closes his eyes.. And snores himself asleep..
