CONTINUATION OF OMORI PONY AU now we have. Basil's parents. They're both pegasus.

They didn't really want a child, but got stuck with the pregnancy anyways and decided to go through with it. but then they were a little excited about it like "okkkk so what pretty colors might it be? this might be fun actually".

Then Basil was born not a pegasus (allegorically a sickly child). "Too much work". They sent him to live with his grandma, in this AU being on the Mom's side, since she is also an Earth Pony.

Or at least these small pieces from the omori gallery exhibit event are believed to be concepts for basils parents… I imagine these would have been photos in basils house of his parents wedding since it kind of looks like they’re wearing wedding attire

So here’s what I’ve been doing these past few weeks :D

Howdy ho there! I’ve been working on personal references for the OMORI cast since the start of December, and there all finally done! Granted most of what’s listed on these are personal headcanons, some of which are inspired by the headcanons of others, so don’t take them too seriously. If you want to use these designs in your own art, knock yourself out, I’d love to see it! But please be sure to credit me if you can. Also these designs aren’t part of any AU, unless you consider “so I added a few headcanons” AU material.

CW on a few of these for depictions of self-harm, eating disorders, and neck injury. This isn’t to say anyone who has experienced with these things needs to be censored, but if these are topics that could squick you out or trigger you, just keep scrolling.

I’ll throw in the silhouette line-up too, since strong silhouettes are something I’m trying to work on.

the way i can't stop thinking about how kel's thirteenth birthday would've most likely been spent alone. the recital took place around october time, and kel's birthday was only a month later. by the time it came, he'd lost everyone. hero stayed unresponsive and miserable in their room. sunny locked himself in his house. as we see in canon, basil was really torn up with guilt afterwards. i can see him and aubrey clinging to each other, but they broke apart sometime over the four years. mari's death hurt everyone. but imagine how it must have felt trying to celebrate not even a month after she'd died.

So hehe, @mikkokomori and I came up with a very random crack AU and that’s what I’m gonna share with you all now- I’m thinking this can replace that failed Wolfwalker AU I never managed to figure out ^^; because this one is much more fun

SO CONTEXT for the “Pet Parents AU”

Klaus and Del move into Faraway due to having adoption troubles ;-; the couple thinking that since they’re getting on in their years, perhaps instead of being people parents, they try being animal parents instead ;w;

One important thing in this AU is that people are able to adopt even wild animals, but it heavily depends on what wild animal specifically. Like it’s legal to adopt a Fox but not like, a Moose or a Bear lmao only condition with this is that animal cruelty on wild animals have a harsher punishment than if done on they typical Cat or Dog.

Anywho, around the time Klaus and Del are in Faraway, the main 6 kiddos had unfortunately died in an ambiguous accident (still need to figure it out) and are all ghosts. But they miss having physical bodies so they all decided to possess animals around the neighbourhood. Kel and Hero find some stray dogs, Aubrey and Basil find a couple bunnies but Mari and Sunny… weren’t so lucky.

It was dark when they thought they found a couple cats but when they realized they weren’t cats, it was too late and their souls got bound to the animal bodies and already absorbed the animal’s soul ^^; Sunny and Mari accidentally possessing a couple of Raccoons. So while Kel, Her, Basil and Aubrey have it pretty nice in terms of people around town helping them out, the Suzuki sibs aren’t so lucky as Raccoons are one of the uh… less popular animals due to all the health related issues Raccoons are associated with.

Although since the kids are ghosts, the physical bodies merging with their souls in a way where they’re all immune to any kind of sickness or disease. Mari and Sunny being technically being the “healthiest” Raccoons on the planet by default lol ANYWAY Unfortunately people aren’t too keen on feeding Raccoons so it’s up to Mari to rummage around the best she can to get food for her and Sunny. But by herself as Sunny is very small and she doesn’t want him getting caught.

Eventually the two stumble into Klaus and Del’s backyard, catching Klaus just as he was tossing out some uneaten food but he sees the two eyeing him. So he leaves the food out for them to eat and things slowly escalate from there. One thing to note though is that Del isn’t too keen on his husband feeding Raccoons since they make such messes of people’s garbage but Klaus ensures that “as a country boy” he knows how to deal with wildlife lmao

Backstory: “Oops! Omori, their best friend, just accidentally killed their sister and they helped disguise it to appear to be suicide. Now omori doesn't leave the house or talk and to be frank Basil hardly does. And in the dream world they're being forgotten. Wait... Who is this about, again?(/j)”

• “(massive spoilers for omori) He helped cover up Mari's death that Sunny caused due to major fear he'll get in trouble. His parents aren't home much and he has a caretaker that grows considerably more concerned about his wellbeing by each day. He is stuck in a downward spiral since the incident.”

• “(Spoilers) okay so his best friend accidentally killed someone, and basil made it look like a suicide so the best friend wouldn't get in trouble. Then he became pretty isolated from the world.”

• “Really lonely until he was brought into his current friend group. Was present at the scene of the murder of his best friend's older sister and helped frame her death. Later, he was accused of ruining his photo album by the same person who dragged him into his friend group and started being viciously bullied by her and her new friends. He's incredibly lonely and depressed as of late :(“

Really sad omori headcanon I have (small spoilers) (Basil thing)

So, it’s never said which side of the family basils grandmother was on, but in my head she was basils maternal grandmother (as in his mom’s mom) and while this was something I just arbitrarily decided one day and didn’t give a lot of thought to…. Thinking of it now I can’t help but imagine that towards the end of her life Basils grandmother began to mistake Basil for her daughter,

And Basil wouldn’t correct her, wouldn’t tell her how she was mistaken and he was not his mother, he would let her believe that her daughter was there for her, that she had not abandoned them both … because not only did Basils parents leave him in the darkest days of his life, but they left Basils grandmother in the dying days of hers

Basils mother left her son to take her place, to let his hair grow out more then usual, to let his grandmother call him “daughter” when her real daughter had left them both behind :(

(We may not know much about Basils family but where there is potential I will FIND the angst and I will share it with everyone I can to make you all sad too)
