Thank you to @benumanov for capturing exactly how I feel about my old place. I am thankful to those who got me that apartment after an emergency roof collapse in my first apt in Bushwick. That place along with the one seen here is where I lived during the most trying times of my life. Most of those years were spent in suffering, loneliness and depression as I rebuilt the idea of what I thought my future was going to be. There was loss of love, of friendship, of work, there was death of loved ones (I almost died myself) and the storm we shall not speak of... But all that was the field needed to plant the seeds that would grow in the future. All that loss was ripping out weeds that were choking the channels of the heart. Prayer, retreats and meditation planted the seeds. Blood sweat and tears watered them. Effort and dedication kept hope going when there was none left. Being true to self and the instructions of my guru and teachers prevented slipping back. Eventually the universe violently pushed me out of that very same spot.. For years I would not budge till I realized I had grown comfortable in this misery. A new chapter was beginning and I was afraid to leave in case it fell apart.... Fear is an enemy to progress. What you think you become. Think positively. Think limitlessly. Nothing is permanent. Everything will change.
