Kenshin’s Stage Play asdfghjkl;

I literally sat in my honors college’s office bawling my eyes out, laughing, and screaming about Kenshin’s new stage play clips on YouTube. I couldn’t stop grinning like a fool, and a lot of my cohort members were like, “Omg are you okay? Is everything okay?” Like yes, I’m fine, I’m just having a moment because I was anticipating for this for so long. It’s Kenshin for crying out loud! lol

The music in the stage play was so good and different, and Tatsumaru-san (Kenshin’s stage actor) is SO SASSY AND DRAMATIC AS KENSHIN? LOL I WAS LIKE TATSUMARU-SAN, PLEASE. SPARE ME. The way he walks off stage and gives the audience one last final look is so asdfghjkl;. I melted. Check it out on the link below!

(Villain hurts Akira, Yukari runs foward again screaming her name)

Villain (to Yukari): Ojou-san, can you really afford to be worried for others right now? (brandishes weapon,Yukari gasps)

Akira: I SAID, don’t you dare touch Yukari! (fights against prison, in pain, Yukari screams her name again) I will definitely protect you...no matter what!

Villain: Ha, why would you sacrifice your body for another like this?

Akira: Because I care about her...because I LOVE her! Beyond that, what reason? NONE! (breaks free of prison, Yukari screams)

GUESS WHO ALSO SCREAMED AT THIS. ME. 

SHE SAID IT. AKIRA DID IT. SHE DID HER DRAMATIC DECLARATION OF LOVE!!! AND THE POWER OF HER LOVE BROKE HER OUT OF HER EVIL PRISON!!! MY CROPS ARE NOT ONLY FLOURISHING THEY ARE GLOWING WITH A GOLDEN GAY LIGHT!!!

Seriously, omg. This is what the entire episode has been building up to, and they didn’t fuckin’ chicken out. Yukari has been very clearly wanting to hear Akira confirm they are a thing, confirm she loves her. She tried to get her to fight for her, did that whole little song and dance,all so she could hear that. Akira, conversely, has been afraid of saying that because she’s worried it would overwhelm Yukari or change things between them too much.

And here, Akira is fighting for her- for REAL. And she finally decides to throw all pretense to the wind. Why am I doing all this for Yukari? Because I LOVE her obviously, what other friggin’ reason would there be? DUH! And the power of that moment is enough to break her free. 

(I also like how she starts out with “I like her/suki” and then is like “OKAY THAT’S NOT ENOUGH GONNA BE REAL, I LOVE HER, WE’RE ADDING A DAI TO THIS SHIT”
