I want a justice league meets the batfam fic that includes every single batkid/other member of the batfam. The main boys, duke, Steph, babs, and Cass obviously, but also the more obscure ones. I don't think I've ever read Maps meeting them, and I've never stumbled across Jarro or Carrie either. I'm probably still forgetting some because of how many there are.

I want the justice league to stumble across, not eight batkids. Not ten batkids. Every batkid. Every single one that ever robined. And the ones who didn't. Every child/adult/starfish connected to Bruce Wayne. All of them.

Chaos and Her Children (I'm sorry, I didn't really plan a sketch ahead so I couldn't fit Yuna in the eldritch fam group shot lol)

Wanted to make a post about Yuna's biological family. They are all originally Pokemon OCs, but Yuna's vague resemblance to their mother compelled me to put them in the OP verse as well. This is just a placeholder, but I like to refer to the children as The Chaos Sibs :D Excluding Yuna, the siblings take inspiration from the Velvet Room attendants (from the Persona series), the Three Mothers (from Dario Argento's films), Chthonic gods, and certain fears from The Magnus Archives.

Eriza

The mother. While she usually appears to others as a very tall and exceptionally beautiful woman clad in robes and with a gentle voice, she is actually an ancient, primordial god-like entity in disguise. Her true name is unknown but in the human language, it means "The Singer of Unreality." She is largely absent from her children's lives but nevertheless continuously watches over them from afar. Although she finds amusement in mankind's suffering and discord, she ultimately does not want its complete destruction. Her resemblance to Nico Robin is purely coincidental (during the time I created her, I was not into OP and was unaware of Robin's post-timeskip look).

Moira

The eldest. The most serious one in the family. She is a bit of a misanthrope, preferring to stay away from human affairs. She comes off as a stern and cold person, this being considered ironic by her family since she carries "the fires of hell" within her; her main power is to emit and control heat, to the point where anything or anyone she touches, breathes on, or is in her vicinity can burn into ash instantly. She can negate the usage of Busoshoku Haki, and quite painfully, making the user feel as though it is burning and melting off of them. Her animal symbol is the dragon. Her design is largely inspired by Sumika Warakubami from Kakegurui (because as soon as I saw her I just went "omg she looks like a perfect mix of Eriza and [insert father's name])."

Kita

The 2nd child. The most chaotic one of the children and the most involved with the human world. She is often seen hanging out with the Red Hair Pirates - having a brother-sister-like bond with Shanks - though she will occasionally spend time with the Thriller Bark Pirates as well, considering Perona like a daughter. Her powers are associated with darkness, ghosts, and nightmares; she becomes most powerful during the new moon and the solar eclipse. She can also attack by manipulating her sleeves, which includes being able to sharpen them into blades. She can prevent the usage of Kenbunshoku Haki. Her animal symbol is the cat (including big cats, especially panthers). She is the first of the siblings to meet Yuna when she was a child (although Yuna does not remember this).

Carmen

Was the youngest until Yuna was born. Uses male, female, and gender-neutral pronouns. They are similar to Kita in seeking fun and pleasure in the human world, often reveling in their festivities. They are like a walking mix of a mirror funhouse, a haunted house, and a kaleidoscope. They have the ability to induce hallucinations, influence ecstasy and madness, and generate glass shards out of thin air (this being dependent on how much light there is present). The glass shards can be used simply as attacks, build shields, and construct false realities. They can prevent the usage of Haoshoku Haki, or more accurately reflect its effect back at the user. Their animal symbol is the fox.

Professor Layton and the Spectre’s Call!! I actually discovered ordering the game from the UK with shipping was actually cheaper than ordering the American version of the game, there were no major differences that I could tell as they still had the original English voice actors.

I enjoyed this game!! Not my top favorite installment but I still had a great time and loved the new characters. The puzzles were well designed and had nice scaled difficulty and the mini games were really neat too. The Eternal Diva references were so blatant lmfao but I’m excited for Miracle Mask! I was also super exhausted when writing the summary so sorry there’s so many errors and I use the word fun a million times ToT

Summary

This was such a fun origin story for Luke and Layton. Very much a classic Layton game with world ending machinery and gorgeous environment design. I really liked both Emmy and Descole, there’s a more serious undertone than with Don Paolo as the main villain (even though I do love Don Paolo). Emmy is amazing!! I was afraid she would be sidelined like Flora was but I’m glad to she stands her ground and does what she wants to do. I alos like how we got to go on our own adventure as her to London, she’s a character that doesn’t need to rely on Hershel to solve everything. Meeting Luke was great, loved his blank stare. It was fun seeing his origins and how Clark and Hershel knew each other. I’m curious how the prequels will play into the New World of Steam, especially now that Luke’s family have stories and sprites (unlike in the original trilogy). Loved the ACAB story, v nice to play while I’m still so mad at what’s happening to university students currently. Descole was so fun, I am obsessed with his outfit and personality. Unfortunately I was spoiled on who he is but I’m very excited to learn more. I think similar to Ace Attorney, the fourth installment is that last game in the classic 2D style, which is sad but PLvsPW makes me very hopeful about 3D Layton. The overall story was fun, I really liked the sub plot about the Ravens - that was really fun (i was so tired writing this omfg). I wish we got a little more backstory on the rich guy who died, I feel like there’s more to the story. OO I loved the little episodes, especially the one about Chelmey. They added a lot of fun context and gave more life to the NPCs. Such a fun and classic Layton game, I can’t wait to play Miracle Mask! (And read the light novels). This wasn’t my favorite Layton game but I still really loved it and had a great time and loved the puzzles — that’s all I want from PL!

OMG I LOVE THE FRUITY FOUR POKEMON AU!!!!

The thing is, there are a ton of picks that you put on everybody's teams that I thought were kinda a given, like giving Eddie a toxtricity, because YES GUITAR POKEMON. But then you had really thoughtful picks, like Steve's galvantula, Robin's vaniluxe, Nancy's Sylveon, and Eddie's Crobat, to name a few!

I also love that you gave each Pokemon a story behind it, you gave us a reason why each member of the fruity four would have that Pokemon and how they encountered it. Some of them, I was just going "awww" over! And some made me giggle, like Nancy's Octillery getting stuck in Eddie's hair!

Speaking of Nancy though....

Why does her Sylveon think that STEVE broke NANCY'S heart? Wasn't it the other way around? A genuine question, because I don't remember the scene from the party well, but I'm pretty sure it was Nancy getting drunk and saying she didn't love Steve, right? Or is my memory faulty?

Either way, each Pokémon that you've given the characters is representative of one of their traits or part of their character development, and I love it! Thank you so much!!!

as for Nancy's Sylveon (i definitely didn't explain it as well as it sounded in my head LMAO) i was inspired by an older episode of the animated pokemon series, where they mentioned that pokemon that evolve through friendship are super loyal but can also be super biased--I kind of framed it so that her Sylveon in particular has always comforted her, so it's always on her side even when she's in the wrong heh. especially since, when you have a fight with your partner or a bad breakup (at least in my experience) and you're venting to a friend, you usually end up painting yourself in a better light than you do the other person regardless of the circumstances, which is why I thought it'd be funny for Sylveon to have this kind of one-sided, semi-confusing beef with Steve that Nancy probably is really embarrassed about LOL

omg so um, for me being a 90s kid, i feel like: sailor moon first, then card captors, pokemon, digimon, bayblade and yugioh were my first 'animes'. In the 90s I only really watched what was on tv. (well ytv, 4kids, & teletoon. I didn't know what manga was.) I did also see inuyasha, full metal alchemist, witch hunter robin, gundma seed, and one piece were things that opened me up to seeing more! (xD ytv bionix block omg) also Tokyo Mew mew (mew mew power) made me explore more magical girl stuff. (this is how i found mermaid melody and other shojo magical girl stuff.) Come to think of it, probably around inuyasha time, (2003) they had shojo beat which really opened me up to more manga and figuring out there are 'types' of anime, and shojo beat also introduced me to the idea of cons. (well shojo beat and other anime magazines) also shojo beat really opened me up more to understanding different fashions/subfashions in japan. (lolita etc. now i'm rambling and off on a different point.)

18. Have any special keepsakes?She has a few interesting things in her inventory. She has a bi-corn statute that she and her team named George, a Bag of Bens, a golden dragon hair comb, and a telepathic ring of frog detection. Her favorite item however is a brass whistle that is used to train, or call for, Raks. 

20. Clothing/AestheticShe is The Hero. The mighty, charismatic knight who loves to go to the tavern every night to chat with the locals, have a few pints, sing some songs loudly, make jokes, and talk to the pretty ladies. She’s usually wearing some form of knight’s gear, whether it be her full armor when she’s out fighting, or in the softer garb the knight’s wear just around the town.Her aesthetic is definitely something around woodworking, metalworking, and glass working. I think of crafted barrels made of oak and iron, a classic knight’s armor mannequin, blown glass vases, and the sound of searing metal being dipped into water.

33. How have they changed over time? Jase has definitely had to work on maturing. She went out on her own from her village in hopes to quickly find a solution to the famine plaguing her village’s farms, but realized it is not so easily fixed. She has had a high ego previously in regards to flirting with women. She also has been a bit naive before, talking when she should have been preparing for combat, and that has often led to the bad starts of her battles in the beginning. 

49. What are some themes tied to your character’s story?She is the Hero personality. The Hero knight who will lead her party to victory to triumph over ne’er-do-wells. She WILL put up her best fight, and she WILL NOT rest until it is over!

What were some inspirations for your character (people, movies, games)?Although I made Jase before this other character was released, I often find similarities between Jase and Brigitte from Overwatch. What was this character’s biggest turning point in their life, something that changed them almost completely?One of the most significant turning points in his life was the first time he ever hacked into someone else’s account. It was actually just a dead and forgotten account on some forum threads that didn’t seem to have much use, but he did it. And once he started, he could not stop himself. He enjoyed the little highs of success, each time growing riskier and riskier. From basic forums, to basic firewalls, to not-so-popular social media, to not-very-secure online games, to dead emails, to bot accounts, gradually climbing up the ladder.

Hm... honestly, there's nothing intensely frustrating about it— though I suppose that it can be a bit grind-y when it comes to farming materials needed to level up, and it can take a while 😓 Earning the gems needed to pull (the primo equivalents) is also not exactly generous if you're f2p, unless there are events or you grind lots or the devs give some away 🥲 but if you manage to overlook those, there's still plenty of fun and non-frustrating stuff to do !!

And oooh :0 Omg that sounds so scary??? TO just have a big ass bull charging out of you out of NOWHERE 😭 That would scare the shit out of me ngl HAHAH Thank goodness there's none of that in any of the pokemon games I play on the regular, bc I doubt I could handle it in the earlier stages before there's a sylveon around to help with it HAHAH

about that last post, one thing that never fails to make me sad is not being able to play my favorite childhood pc games anymore... we still have all the cds, but since there was some change in programming/structure (don’t ask me i’m an idiot) between windows 95/98 and xp (and all that came after xp) all those games are not compatible and don’t work anymore... but i remember them so fondly like? it was nothing special, my father was obsessed with educational games so that’s what he let us play with but they were really fun??? at least to 2 to 6 year old me...  and like since they’re not exactly games that made history (like pokemon red that came out at the same time) but cheap games programmed for kids to learn i feel like no one but me remembers those or experienced them.  anyway just a small rundown of my faves: - a game called “tip top e il mistero dei libri scomparsi” (tip top and the mystery of the disappeared books) where you played as this mouse writer, looking for 4 books that had mysteriously disappeared. (20,000 leagues under the sea, the three musketeers, robin hood, and another one i can’t remember?) by clicking around and following various clues that took you to different parts of the city... i remember so distinctly that one book was hidden at the port and one inside a mummy’s sarcophagus... when you found the books the game read the stories out to you. it was pretty much my favorite, i spent YEARS playing this over and over and never got tired of it -another game called “l’astronave blu” (the blue spaceship) was about science and i remember it being about evolution?? it was more a narration than a game but it had little mini games in between. i remember distinctly that that’s where i learned about the big bang and about opposable thumbs  -”teo leo e manda” was like??? manda was a weird spider-like creepy creature and you were taken to different rooms in a house and you had to click on different objects to find her. sometimes clicking on an object would do whacky things like i remember mice running out from under carpets and dancing was a recurrent one... and every time you clicked on something it would tell you the name of that object in english?? this was probably together with tip top one of the first games i ever played on the windows 95 pc i was like... a toddler...  -when i was already a little older and i could read and stuff my dad got us a game where you learned about leonardo da vinci’s  art and projects and omg. it was just videos, and like, little quizlets and stuff but what i remember is that the intro music SLAPPED i could still sing it out to you now. -also not a game but any of yall remember when wikipedia was not a thing and to do research we had microsoft encarta??? my dad had all 4 cds of microsoft encarta (he got pirated copies from a friend) i did all of my middle school thesis back when we had no internet connection with encarta... sometimes you’d look for an article and it would give you a popup like “this is on disc 3! change the disc to read!” and it had like, not just an encyclopedia part but also some 360° interactive 3d reproductions of ancient buildings as they were back in the good ole days, like the parthenon and an ancient chinese palace and an egyptian temple and me and my sibling’s fave game was to explore the places by moving around in different rooms... zooming through the corridors... pretending to be on an aDVENTURE... god so many memories!!!
