sat...I saw kafka again. I can't even say anything without giggling. i did lose it omg. i need to...idek atp, i can't stop giggling, i miss her bad. i took a screenshot every time she was on screen, and it took me forever bc i pausing and giggling. every line she had i was dying. wdym "no matter where you go or which corner of the cosmos you may be, you will always be able to find a safe haven by my side" like let's all die. I want to be at her side NOW. I also asked her if she abandoned me, "you know I'd never do that" what does she meannn, like that's the first interaction we had w her in the game, her leaving. and she's being so soft :( but her saying all that then dumping us on the space station no problem is so kafka. I hate her so much.

I was so unprepared for this, blade saying don't let kafka down bc she sacrificed so much for us. her smile being "half cold half warm" ik that's right

her saying "i don't want anything to come between us, not even doubt" "as long as you stand with the stellaron hunters, you will never know the pain of betrayal." makes me think about what she said about keeping the right distance to maintain long-lasting relationships.

also what she said right before the fight, "all the bloodshed and cried beyond the screen are merely there to serve as the backdrop for the main characters. Together we will dance against the current, until the universe meets Finality." like that's how she sees the outcomes of the "scripts" maybe? and everything else in order to fight fate is just the backdrop. very delicious.

but they were wrong about her not being good at patience. that's her thing. her problem is that she's too patient. idk what the writers were on, but they're wrong. or maybe she was fucking with us the entire time or it was a fake memory. idk.

ok now let's talk about aglaea. (i stopped right after kafka showed up btw, so uh I haven't seen all of her scenes yet)

I love her. that voice? the accent? I love the "divinity is lonely" trope, but I usually just like lonely characters in general lol. she has all that power but the world is still going to end. she's so distant to bc she has to be disconnected on a certain level to maintain the pretense that everything is ok so the people who look to and rely on her (it's everyone) don't worry? she's protecting the last city that isn't destroyed, she killed a god, but the world is still going to end? her plan too. like "planning" to execute the TB so they'll trust the others more and help save the city because she cannot.

also that art of her the bath with us.

anyway I need cheryl to voice the kafka lines bc I know I'll lose my shit even more. I need a few business days to calm down about her tho.

FUCK. they had her so incredibly soft in this little cameo like i dont know what that was about but i was squealing and cheesing so much my jaw started to hurt. i missed her so bad… i also chose the “did you abandon me” line and screamed into my pillow at her answer like she’s sooo unserious for what she then told the tb during her companion quest 😭 omfg real question, do we think that because kaf knew the tb would lose their memories once the stellaron was implanted, it’s why she was so open before?.. that would be so sick. that “half cold half warm” comment was so real and it translates into everything she does it’s like she cant bring herself to be fully committed to anything that doesnt secure her future. shes so obviously passionate (proven once more with her “we will dance against the current” line) but beyond that i wonder if she has anything she wants and would fight for. i loved that line because it really shows how she thinks, that she doesn’t really feel any remorse or guilt for her actions bc she sees what shes doing as “details”. she’s always focusing on the big picture and it’s just so nice to hear her say it ykwim? because idk if i’d consider kaf ‘morally grey’ so far and this kinda just reaffirmed that belief for me, who thinks like that? 😭 once again her “the end justifies the means” sort of thinking is ehhhhh. in one of my philosophy classes one of the arguments against that kind of utilitarian thinking was that we cant predict what’s going to happen, so committing terrible acts cant be “for the good of humanity” if you dont even know that things will turn out well in the end. but kafka does know. kinda interesting

yes they were wrong about the patience thing idk what happened in that writing room but i should’ve been there… /lh idk if it’s an actual fake memory because mem said the tb’s memories were chaotic but as we all know, “memories do not lie” so… im choosing to believe it was real idc ! kaf was so domestic in this idc like its mine im eating that shit uppp, what do you mean “dinner’s ready” and blade giving her his preferences like he cant cook his own meal im crying theyre my family. kaf saying that travelling with people who dont talk much makes her feel lonely makes me wonder if thats why she “loves chatting with silver wolf”

I LOVE AGLAEA. for the exact reasons you just stated like i think she’s gonna be up there in my top 10 guys… the burden of being the one who has to uphold people’s faith is so delicious. so lonely. shes giving it her all but shes still pessimistic as to amphoreus’ destiny so to her, she’s doing everything just so that her people die in the end, thats insane. and its worse that ppl dont only have faith in their gods, they have faith in her in particular because she’s ascended to divinity in their eyes and whether she likes it or not that always drives a wedge between that person and humanity as a whole. she mentions her humanity “eroding” and sounds wry about it aaaaaa, like something she can’t control or fight against and shes just accepted it. love her. that voice??? need her whispering in my ear. the way she says “very good” oh i got tingles all over my body… how she (more than once) guides us through things really brought forth the puppy top in me i can’t even lie

Finished my Riverdale season 1 rewatch!!!

Some quick random thoughts:

I find Alice to be utterly INSUFFERABLE in this first season. Wow. I don’t like her in general, but I fcking hate her in S1 lol.

Bughead actually started out so sweet, I liked them together this season. Why did they have to ruin it?! Their “I love you” in the finale… 🥺

one of those "i didn't know where else to go..." hero turns up on villain's doorstep after a trauma fics, in which archie seeks out hiram bc he thinks he's more interested in revenge than like. medical assistance or emotional support.

continued vampire AU ft archie getting properly bitten, more veronica triangulation, more shame

s3 juvie arc AU in which hiram actually visits to be so so soooo soso so nasty and sick about it all

kind of a dreamy fairy tale AU where archie is an ex-mermaid with very sharp teeth (but he already traded his voice and fins away to a different witch who skipped town in her volkswagen beetle) and hiram is a warlock and veronica is in kind of a cinderella-rapunzel situation.

a sort of inception<>rivervale fusion in which rivervale is explicitly kind of built around archie's subconscious and he keeps trying and killing and dying over and over in an attempt to create a hiram-free world where his dad might come back. narrator jughead is there trying to pick up the pieces every time archie bails out. hiram might be becoming meta-aware, or it might just be that archie can't imagine him without every advantage

s6 reggie/kevin(/percival) i've been thinking a lot about s6 reggie/kevin(/percival). troubling. troubling! anyway even outside of the dynamics of reggie wanting to rescue kevin from mind control, i keep thinking kevin would be fascinated with reggie's puppet conscience. i think he'd try to adopt it as his own or at least share, he needs one too. i think they could get intensely psychosexual or simply sexual about the whole situation.

sex pollen. traditional sex pollen. riverdale is from one angle a comics fandom, and you can't have a comics fandom without some writer doing the needful and launching fuck-or-die chemicals at some characters sometime. percival's reggie-on-archie stabbing aggression spell already kind of had that vibe, which is probably why i think it should be archie/reggie. but i would also accept kevin/archie with a slightly different tone, kevin/jughead with a VERY different tone, etc etc etc. (and betty/cheryl. idk why them, they're not even my main f4f ship. i just think they'd wear it well.)

ULTIMATELY it just boils down to Do I Want to Be Watching Riverdale. like. if u can let riverdale as a show into your heart then i would say yes a thousand times yes. i will also tell you that as the seasons progress, things are heightened more and more so if you are prepared to witness some things that are. less "realistic" compared to season 1 then i think you are in for a real treat. theres some really interesting stuff in this show.

AND I LOVE CHERYL TOO OMG. things just keep happening to her but i ALWAYS enjoy seeing on her on the screen. truly never a dull moment

Omg let Wig!Veronica liiiiive!! I know how you feel tho, like it would suck to crackship something so long and then only get served a little taste of what could have been. And it’s tough especially when so much of this fandom (and even some reviewers) are obviously gunning for Veronica to get some bullshit strong single female ending or pair her off with Reggie again. I’m not really taking any stock in people who insist it’s all going back to the exact couples and exact set up as S6, because Tabitha already told us what is going to happen? (And because I don’t think the writers are that boring??)

And I don’t think they would be going out of their way to show how compatible Jeronica are just to dump them back in the present with an amicable handshake?

Like yes they have this happy little bubble right now that is going to burst when other players enter the stage again. But that is a normal arc of a romantic plot anyway. People fall in love, they face conflict, they come apart, they find a way back to each other.

And obviously they are stirring everything up to make the last few episodes a whole lot of will-they-wont-they scenarios. With the exception of Cheryl and Toni. (I would guess Midge is alive in the new present and married to Fangs instead of Toni?)

So I think we have a really good chance of seeing them back together in the present. I don’t know if it’ll be angsty or fluffy or he’ll be chasing her down to the airport and they’ll go to Paris together or if he shows up at her door to kiss her or maybe he just wakes up in the present with no memory of before and she’s sleeping next to him. But we’ll see them in the present in some way. I don’t think the show is going to give them a miserable ending, not with all these comparisons to married couples they keep making. Don't forget there's also infinite timelines and universes! Maybe we'll see more than one outcome? Or Veronica will choose an AU where she can be with her own Jughead.

I’m choosing to be positive, and even if it doesn’t turn out how we hope, they canonically fell for each other when given a second chance to meet again? Which is something we’ve been speculating about all along so like, small victories, right? Enjoy it episode to episode and don’t overthink the ending yet! Because you know our fandom’s production studio will fix it if we are not satisfied anyway!

OMG I never really thought about it like that about Betty leaving because she is way too overwhelmed with both Dagwood and Archie inside the minds and needs to go home to be with her thoughts while also taking care of Bingo even for just a few hours. She probably reached the house, emotionally drained from everything and Bingo comes to the front door giving her love. He tries his best to comfort his mama as he senses that something is off considering Archie isn’t with her and stays by her side. She takes care of him by giving him some food and before laying on the couch with Bingo curled at her feet still not wanting to leave her presence as he feels very protective over her especially without Archie’s presence. As they for sure bonded since Betty and Archie started dating and he just loves her so. Meanwhile over at the mines, Archie comes out and sees Betty not being there becomes frantic about needing to be there and tell her what happened. The girls mention how Betty expressed everything was overwhelming , to which he starts running back to his house. Where Betty sitting in the living room with a few lights on sits and hopes that everything has gone right even senses something for sure happened. When Archie gets home, the front door opens and Bingo is at attention ready to protect his mama barking barreling towards the door only to notice it is Archie by his voice were he becomes so giddy to see him. The two of them are reunited, Archie mentions that Dagwood is also safe and sound with Cheryl, and after all that running to come back to see him he lays in her lap with Bingo now contented that Mom and Dad are home safe.

Veronica tries to encourage Betty by telling about how Archie’s sweet hereafter but Betty gets freaked out he won’t come back and choose his heavenly version of her instead.

Knowing Betty, she would even want this because the version of her in heaven is good, where she was just told she couldn’t cross into the afterlife (Sabrina, I hate you!).

She goes home, unable to handle it if Archie doesn’t come back via Cheryl’s phoenix powers. Bingo comforts her as she sits in the dark and thinks the worst.

Archie, on the other hand, would equally freak when he comes back to life and doesn’t see her. For a moment, he’d wonder if something happened to her and the version he saw of he in heaven was real. But then he’d run home and find her.

Their reunion would be emotional yet private. Afterwards, Archie would tell Betty about his heaven and they both have a moment where they realize they want to get married someday 🥺

but yeah i mean... technically?? that's definitely one way to describe it. and i'll try my best to explain what it is because it overtakes my every waking thought these days.

so like. there is this thing right. she's known as the entity. she's essentially the main antagonist of the whole game, and she drags people into something known as the fog, a place that no one has been able to escape. once you're in the fog, you're not leaving.

so you have one group of people known as survivors. this includes original characters like meg, yunjin, sable, dwight, etc etc. and then licensed characters such as leon kennedy, nick cage, alan wake, ellen ripley, etc etc.

then you have the second group, the killers. this includes original killers like the trickster, skull merchant, the trapper, the artist, etc etec. and then licensed characters like michael myers, pinhead, demogorgon, amanda young, and so on. then there's ghostface. he's only half-licensed, so he's not from any of this movies, he's only canon to dbd. his name is danny.

the lore of this game is not something i'm an expert at. i only know the lore for like... 5 characters. but the gist is that you get dragged into the fog (or willingly enter, if you're quirky like sable) and are forever stuck there, cursed to either continuously get killed over and over again or cursed to continuously murder over and over again.

each trial is a 1v4. one killer, four survivors. the survivors have to repair generators to power up the exit gates in order to escape, and the killer has to hunt them down and sacrifice them to the entity by hooking them 3 times. 2, if you bring a mori or if they get left on hook until their second hook state.

and each survivor and killer comes with their own set of perks, like little skills essentially, that you can use to help yourself out in trials. like uhhh...

some examples being the perks i put on my survivors: adrenaline, a meg perk, instantly heals you a health state and gives you a haste boost once gates are powered. background player, a renato perk, that gives you a massive speed boost when the killer picks up a downed survivor. unbreakable, a bill perk, that lets you pick yourself up if you've been downed. and soul guard, a cheryl perk, that grants you endurance for a period of time once you've been healed from a downed state.

and then some killer perks: no way out, a trickster perk, that calls the entity to block exit gates when someone tries opening them. the time depends on how many survivors you hooked that match. rancor, a spirit perk, that lets you immediately down and mori your obsession once gates are powered no matter how many times you've hooked them. nurse's calling, a nurse perk, that lets you see the aura of survivors healing within a certain range. blood warden, a nightmare perk, that blocks off the exit for 60 seconds after hooking a survivor once either gate has been opened.

i don't think i'm doing the best job at explaining the game tbh. the best way to learn about it is to either watch someone play it or play it yourself, bc that's how i learned. and i'm still new to the game man, 4 months, 420 hours.

it's an online game, so there's always bound to be toxic people on both sides, but it's also a really fun game and like.

there have been moments in this game, lil interactions w other survivors and killers, that have genuinely made my day.

there's also outfits!! for the killers and survivors!! some of them aren't good, but some of them are. really just depends on your taste in fashion, i guess. and lil charms that you can put on your survivors, and on your hooks.

sorry for the long and messy explanation i will take literally any chance given to me to talk about this game :thumbs up:

Omg this Toni still having her memories theory is everything. There are so many Toni moments looking back that could be interpreted as her secretly helping them "bend towards justice". Her and Tabitha are friends after all. She's a fierce advocate for civil rights. And Lizzo is always asking Toni why she keeps pursuing Cheryl, it'd be so epic if it's more than we thought on the surface.
