I love playable reader and Dottore so much, voicelines are so cute and fun, I love to imagine what the voicelines are for opening chests! I can imagine playable reader being so excited to find treasure while dottore similar to characters like scara or ayato has no interest or just thinks its rubbish, but tries not to be too pessimist or lower playable readers excitement. I could also imagine him not wanting playable reader to touch artifacts that have been sat in a chest for who knows how long in case they pick up germs, voicelines are just so fun to think about!

OMG... THE CUTEST THING EVER. Eagerly, they would pry open the chest, hovering over it so much that Dottore couldn't even get much of a glimpse inside. Then dodging the random items you started throwing behind you as you deemed them boring. Finally, you'd pull out a beautiful blue feather, an artifact that reminded you of your beloved.

"Dottore, what is this artifact called? It's so-" Interrupting your sentence was a sudden sneeze. Well, as pretty as it was, it was also quite dusty... With a sigh, he would pluck the feather out of your hand and drop it right back into the chest, which closed with a thud. (This has happened a million times.)

"Perhaps it would do you good to stay away from such trifles."

"Hey!"

Reader would be so excited to open the chests - they would be defeating the enemies or running around solving puzzles so they could open the chests already. Or if you happen to be sickly, you'll be sat right next to the chest waiting for him to defeat the horde of enemies rather impatiently. Your husband, however, doesn't quite understand your enthusiasm... surely the stuff in the lab is far more intriguing? Mere common chests are nothing to be happy about.

Dottore's only interested if there happens to be some cogs or mechanical parts in there, maybe some ancient texts or notes... though often, they are basic and aren't worth his attention. Though, once in a while some unique ones do appear and you always present them to him as a gift!

"Oooh, come look at this, Dottore! It's pretty good, right?"

"Hm, it could be worth examining."

Reader also seems to scrape out every last Mora from the treasure chests. Why? So they could hopefully relieve Dottore of his constant funding issues. Sure, a few thousand Mora isn't much, but it'll add up! While Dottore is appreciative of your efforts, he'd just rather continue bothering Pantalone to increase the budget... he's not fond of the grime of the coins staining your bare hands.

"With this, we could buy so, so many samosas! ... If this was four hundred years ago, hmph."

you don't know what you were thinking when volunteering to look after the newly imprisoned harbinger, but looking back on it... you probably weren't thinking at all.

in his cell, he has you pinned to the ground, grinning wildly at you as he overpowers you in a show of strength. he wants the map to the fortress that's just jutting out of your pocket, but like hell you were gonna give that to him. if he's smart enough to catch you offguard, he's smart enough to plot an escape. you weren't taking your chances.

he laughs in your ear, and you see that the sick bastard actually likes seeing you struggle against his grip. "oh come on, pretty, just hand the map over and all will be good and dandy. i'm not asking too much, am i?"

"you're asking too much," you growl back, and the little shit laughs louder. while he's distracted by his own amusement, you find moment of weakness and kick him in the shin, to which he collapses on top of you. you roll him over as he clenches the pained spot, and before he can react, he has a baton to his neck and a glaring guard in his face. "assaulting a guard can add to your sentence, inmate. you should've thought of that before attacking me."

he continues to grin at you, and you start to wonder if he's even listening. "well, if a longer sentence means getting to see that pretty face of yours, i'm not too opposed to it." he sighs dreamily as the baton digs further into his neck. "especially if pretty can actually beat me up."

your lips curl into a disgusted scowl. "they say that the eleventh harbinger was questionable, but i didn't think you'd be this depraved." you dig a heel into his gut and he chokes out a pained laugh. "luckily, the fortress of meropide seeks to reform all criminals, no matter how sinful they are. now—" you deliver a swift kick to his stomach, sending him rolling back. before he can even push himself up, you stomp on his back and he falls to the ground once more. "you will beg for reformation, for us to clean that tainted heart of yours, harbinger."

"beg?" childe's head is spinning, and his heart is beating so loud his ears might burst. he can feel the burn in his stomach, and the heavy pressure of your boot digging into his skull. he didn't know that being visionless could make him this weak, being beaten up by a mere guard. "oh.. heh, i could beg all you w-want and more, p... pretty."

as you stomp on him again, a slight moan comes from him as his cheek hits the metal again. or maybe he wanted this. to receive a beating from someone as pretty as you. "disgusting. beg properly, harbinger, and do it right."

fuck his spine was almost halving. "p-please, reform this harbinger..." his begging comes out broken and wheezing from the pain, but there's an alarmingly wide grin on his face as he does so. "make me... urk... make me clean... i'll do anything you ask. p... please!"

a startling silence, but judging from how you lift your boot from his back, you seem to approve. "hm. passable." you watch your newest prisoner collapsed on all fours, shuddering on the ground as he revels in the warm pain blooming through his body. "reformation starts now, inmate. let us work together to correct your errors."

"surely you have something to say to me, hm, young master?" you ask languidly, sifting through the documents in your hand. you're lazily stretched out over his office chair, playing around with the official seal of his family, yet you sit like an emperor on their throne. you cock your head at the young master, looking as bored as ever. "if not, i might just report this to the raiden shogun herself."

ayato sits like a commoner before you, heels digging into his behind as he glares at the floor. your figure is a shadow against the elegantly painted washi paper, and with only the moon and a flickering candle for light, it seems like your piercing eyes are the only features he can make out. your military cap tilts with your face as you regard ayato with indifference.

"nothing to say?" you sigh and let the papers drop. these are sealed, important documents, but when one drifts in front of his face, it almost seems like mockery. "ugh, i have to write up a whole report now thanks to you."

"wait." ayato grits out, still boring holes into the wooden floor. "p-please. don't release this information to her majesty, please. ayaka and thoma... they don't deserve this." they were only doing what was right. to clean up the mess your raiden shogun made. "we can handle this in private, just... just not..."

you sigh again, and it makes him bristle. you're acting like this is just another day for you and not the near doom of the kamisatos. "you're making an awful lot of demands for someone who's kneeling." you grin at him, those teeth looking predatory as you study his red face. "haven't ya ever heard of... 'sealing the deal'?" you tap the armrest with a sharp nail. "come here."

ayato begins to stand, but freezes when you shoot him a dissatisfied glare. "aren't you making a request? people who beg don't stand— they crawl. now again—" you tap the wooden armrest again. "come."

he doesn't have to do this. he shouldn't be doing this. he is the master of the kamisato estate, and he has more dignity than being reduced to crawling on the floor. but that's exactly what he finds himself doing. dragging his loose yukata against the floor as he knees you, clenching his teeth as he avoids your leering gaze, he's painfully aware of how disappointing he must look like to his parents above. the cold night air hits his skin, and his cheeks burn bright when he realizes just how loose his yukata might be when the cold hits his pale chest.

"good." you hum, stroking his hair. he couldn't help the euphoric shudder when your fingers graze his ear. "now, it's time for me to hear you beg properly."

You don't have to post this if you don't wanna but thinking of how Sara would've suffered in Inazuma's very unequal society is doing things to my psyche.

Warning: this is LONG. Still hope you enjoy, your Kujou Sara takes keep me alive lol.

She's a Tengu. Immediately, she's going to be deumanised to some extent by swathes of people; yes, while it was mostly mentioned that Oni are historically discriminated against, the Youkai and humans are incredibly divided in modern Inazuma as is. A street orphan like Sara, someone not confirmed (yet?) to originate from a major wealthy Tengu clan/tribe like the Yougou Tengu would also lack any privilege by birth that would quell any outward discrimination, also considering how she was literally a homeless child living in the woods alone, parentless, and was chased off a cliff my monsters. Theoretically, if they discriminate against other species of Youkai like tanuki, then I don't doubt they'd stop at some random "unruly" Tengu kid. Also add in the way Yae Miko treats her canonically and in lore and yeah...

Sexism; people like to avoid this topic a lot but Inazuman society, especially the Tenryou Comission, is especially divided by sex. Yes, Sara was mistaken as a boy by the military as a kid, but growing up would have undoubtedly been isolating, especially as a non-human girl/woman. Plus, unlike Fontaine, Mondstadt, Sumeru, and Natlan, we see 0 female warriors outside of her; all the soldier NPCs are male. Even though Japan historically had female warriors, a vast majority in samurai families were heavily restricted to marriage and women were still seen as lesser than men. Accounting for the nuance of Sara not being human, it's also that she was possibly dehumanised to the point of not being seen as a girl at all, hence why she was raised as a weapon and exploited in this way. There is also a male NPC in tenshukaku who mockingly calls her "useless". Yes, Ei is the Shogun, but even Takayuki himself confirms he doesn't see her as a woman but only as a god - I'm probably reaching here, but even if a nation's leader was female, they often reinforced sexist values through the system; add in the whole concept of eternity and it's slightly ominous. Add in the whole gender-based clan inheritance thing and yeah...

Being raised as a weapon who wasn't allowed friends. This is pretty self-explanatory but comparing her to everyone else in Inazuma this hurts my heart, and the only person who ever acknowledges this is Ayato of all people; Miko had a hand to play in Sara's upbringing, and Sara's "daddy Tengu" (as Miko calls him) is fuck knows where and she's probably never had anybody to protect her out of love.

Probable disconnect from heritage. Unlike Itto who at least knew his parents enough to be aware of Oni culture and folktales, and Miko who lived lovingly among them, Sara only has her fan, Tengu Archery (debatable if this is even fully historical Tengu archery as in the art form) and her natural abilities and mask. Tanuki have their own language, and it's not importable that Tengu also have their own. Sara is also shown, in a description in one of her talents, to have "departed from her people, the Tengu, long ago". How does Yoimiya have the "Thundering Pulse", a bow originally forged by the Shogun for the Great Tengu Reizenbou and passed down to her human servant Takamine, while Sara gets... nothing? She wasn't even in the Youkai event. She's mentioned, sure, but what are her opinions on her heritage? Who taught her how to take care of her wings? Does she know any Tengu magic? Etc. etc.

Apologies for how long that was. Feel free to ignore this if you wanna, but I just needed to get my thoughts out.

YES omg this is such a good analysis especially your second point; i had my own suspicions about inazuma’s sexism but i’ve seen net zero information about it in any discussions of inazuma so i thought i was just seeing shit akxbdjjshf but i’m glad to know someone else has also picked up on that little oddity! anyway, circling back to the last line of your first point…

i wanna preface this by saying i love yae miko. i have her c0r1, friendship 10, her talents are almost maxed. i ADORE her—but at the same time i definitely believe she was to some extent complacent in sara’s abuse as a child. realistically there’s no way she wouldn’t know about it; she’s essentially the shogun’s left hand woman. i doubt there’s anything that goes on in inazuma city she doesn’t know about, and i doubt her hands are tied this badly when it comes to doing something about it, since takayuki is the shogun’s no. 1 glazer and miko is practically the shogun’s voice. this does raise an interesting character point about miko’s own morality, which i personally think is very ei-centric. it’s very gay and a little fucked up of her and i love it as a character trait (non-human morality in a non-human character/dilemma of is humanity learned or ingrained?) HOWEVER it does make her (in my hc and interpretation) a bystander to sara’s abuse for which i do have some conflicted feelings about lmao

i agree with your last two points as well, wholeheartedly. although for ‘signature’ weapons i do try not to take them as character canon unless the character themself is mentioned in the weapon’s lore, like how the shogun is mentioned in the lore of engulfing. it would be cool if sara was the owner of thundering pulse though, i will admit. i’ve talked about some of the things you mentioned in some previous asks so i won’t rehash it here for the sake of not soundlike a broken record skchdjdh but rest assured i do the long ask, 🐗 anon! i enjoyed reading it :)

cutting myself off after this one but i love both of the kirishima siblings :3 touka is so cool, and i love how her rough exterior hides how gentle and emotional she really is. i love characters like that. and ayato, he's so snarky and fun, but again, his roughness hides how much he cares. i don't think this qualifies as a spoiler (i mean it gets confirmed in :re, but i feel like it was implied in the first half of the series), but after touka kills those doves in retaliation for killing hinami's mom, ayato starts killing doves too, because he also has a rabbit mask, to detract attention from his sister.....so it ties that first incident to him rather than her :')

VENTI

This was honestly such a hard decision

I didn't know if I should give you someone to match your vibe, or to go for someone to be opposite

I decided to go with venti since I think you two would be a cute couple

Extrovert loud boyfriend X introverted sweet boyfriend

I like to think that venti, though loud and annoying at times, would be very caring and sweet towards you

And by that I mean that he's very considerate and thoughtful, which he may not seem at first glance

Shuichi would somewhat be a nice partner, he's caring and loving after all, and I like to think that a guy like you deserves all the love in the world

And shuichi can provide you with a lot of love, he might not be very physical about his love, but he is verbal, he will tell you from time to time that hes proud of you, that he enjoys your company, that he loves you.

For reference, do you mind if I ask for more details regarding your s/i and Ayaka too?

You hinted that your s/i is an adventurer, and there was mention of her having powers of some kind? Can I ask what you had in mind?

Also, how did Ayaka and your s/i meet? What sort of history do they have? From the drawings and the answers you gave, I was able to piece that the Cherry Blossom Pin was important to both of them. They match too, which was an interesting detail I wanted to keep in for the responses too.

Also, please feel free to include any other fun facts about your s/i. ^_^ (If you do decide to participate in future EBG's, I'd love to be able to refine asks for sabotaging/lore purposes).

Yes! she is an adventurer from Fontaine, and as for her powers, she has shadow manipulation, though only when she has her pet snake, Azael. She and Azael are in the same situation as Baizhu and Changsheng. Though instead of taking her life, Azael takes her eyesight away.

As for how she and Ayaka met... I wanted to use the plot in her character story and her sq about how she just wants to live as a normal person for once. So they met after the Sakoku Decree was lifted during one of the festivals hosted by the Yashiro commission. They bumped into each other causing a little bit of an accident, to make it up to her, she offered to treat Ayaka to whatever she wished, which she gladly took, finally having someone other than her family, Yoimiya and the traveler treat her normally.

The cherry blossom pin was actually one of the things my S/I bought for her at the festival mentioned above, It's become a trinket that they both carry around.

I was actually writing the general information about my s/i when you sent this ask so it works! this is just the simplified version of their relationship. (omg if you add them i would actually faint/j)

alas i likely wont ever post the arranged marriage ayato fic but im really proud of it, i shared it with my partner who sometimes sends me headcanons and memes about it :D and to add to the tension, my self-insert is a part of the Sangonomiya clan (kokomi's younger sibling, to be exact!) - it's been super fun and interesting to write tbh

I'd love to add on to the character animation design little details if that's alright!!

Tsukasa: oh my gosh that's absolutely perfect, I bet he's more of a support leaning character who can heal/buff but also make long ranged/add on attacks [like childe] where you just have to know his playstyle, like knowing his status rules! He's probably related or is one of the main Inazuma houses (with kohaku on the underside) And would be dressed in more traditional clothing, working mainly within town and with the Kamisato clan. I have a feeling he'd be one with the cultural community there so that'd be a cure way to meet Ara and Leo!! Probably well known to the archers at the military and Sara- along with Keito he's on good terms with. keeps the dangomilkman well paid lol

Izumi: ok I have SOOO many thoughts his would be movement based right? His set more calculated and precise to contrast with leo- his movements are much like Ayato in that he twists with grace, moving backwards instead of forwards to throw very precise shards that look like Kaeya's shield. Maybe his ultimate gives him cryo infusion and allows faster movement speed so used with buffs he'd freeze them in place and obliterate them (much like Yelan's E) - or something more like Qiqi or Shenhe's in he literally gives the blessing of his name for power- that'd be so cool!

Arashi: Like Ningguang I'm guessing! Her movements are probably much bigger than some of the more withheld characters (wink to her stubborn nature/strong will) I absolutely feel like she'd be electro because of her undeniable will to be adorable [partially because of her eye color being so core to her characterization- but thats a whole other thing] or maybe more Anemo leaning because of the. Yknow. I agree she might be a really popular model and work with Yunjing in the entertainment sector, that's why she's able to connect with Knights and help their political movements along (also, I love the half-adepti like Yanfei for her family thing!!)

Leo: omg. I want to make an animation for him for real. The idea of his burn marks leaving his writing behind on walls is SOOO good??? Whenever you use his E he'll be effected/infused with Pyro and leave scorch marks on the ground near him, which buff his comrades and debuff the enemy (much like Bennett maybe?) His Burst would be great with a big application range, stacks of the music (so his elemental usage) adding up with whatever weapon to create a giant boost in DPS potential when he's throwing his all at enemies. Works super well in team comps of reactive elements, and with Izumi for the contrast!

Ritsu: OK I'm like kind of losing my mind here because I LOVE LOVE LOOOOOVE him as a cryo unit but almost feel like he'd be more hydro/anemo? (Anemo hint to Rei...) He seems to care very deeply for everyone and definitely seems like a support/shield to me. His E makes me think of a 'you're bothering me', 'too warm' or 'too bright' while giving a pouty/mad look to the enemy. If anemo I bet he'd say something like 'cat got your tongue?' Or 'come closer' like some of his teases lol. His Ultimate would probably be accompanied with a close up yawn and him pushing the camera away to show a see-through room (or coffin...that'd be so cool) that keeps his members safe, slowly regaining energy or healing til he gets switched out again...

As a unit: I would be so scared to fight them omg... Some of the most effective elements in teyvat and they come together to create insanely meta crit/atk rates ESPECIALLY with their designated sets.

Tsukasa Suou: His hydro horse thingy is a mare and her name is Iris. Tsukasa could be a reverse childe, uses sword in normal combat and then mounted on Iris he switches to hydro bow bc why the hell not. (also bc he’s canonically good at mounted archery and theres a really cursed [!] era card for that + story) He’s from Fontaine and his family works under the Archon. They’re the head of the Archon’s defense for her and the region and Tsukasa is going to be the next general. Tsukasa is very fond of Inazuman treats (loovess dango milk). Also Tsukasa sleeps on Iris when they camp out

Arashi: Arashi is from Liyue and is a model in Liyue. Arashi may as well be related to Zhongli and may as well be an Adepti, but that isn’t confirmed :) (In Enstars Canon she has a big bro, maybe Xiao could be hers??) Arashi’s burst is similar in form with Zhongli’s (big object be hurled + stun) but instead of it being a big boom boom rock its a bunch of star-shaped shards of geo that skewer said enemy and explodes, giving stun. oh. and killing them. Arashi is also the mom of the group, completely against her will and its not certain to say she likes it or not.

Leo: Leo is a flaming piss weasel and that’s literally it (/j) he cannot control his powers whatsoever, so whenever he gets an emotional spurt of energy expect everything to be on fire. Fires comes out from him EVERYWHERE. It’s usually his hands within his control, his nose and maybe his mouth outside of control. Leo has totally made a claymore out of pyro and showed it to Ruka. Ruka was not pleased when half the kitchen was burned to shreds. He also is very good at woodworking (mostly the burning thingy) and sets wood on fire specifically to compose.. yippee!! Leo is also from Mondstat btw. Also, Leo’s burst is much like Yanfei’s, a birthday of music!! Boom boom!!

Izumi: Traveling model from Snezhnaya who would rather be home. He freezes everything because he hates everybody (actually just his insecurities talking) he’s like Elsa but if Elsa skipped therapy at any given moment. Izumi actually knew Leo when he went to Mond for a modeling gig and they became friends there and then never met again. Until now. Izumi is also hella good at ice skating and thats his entire fighting style. Skid skid boom deaded. Like op said, he works like yelan. I think his burst should just be a wall of ice. Defense!!! ahahah!!!!

Ritsu: Personally nobody knows where he’s from and no one is allowed to touch his vision (bc he said so) but everyone speculates Sumeru. Ritsu is not from Sumeru but I’ll keep you wondering. Ritsu sleeps on everything and everybody. One time he slept on Iris and Tsukasa has been angry since. (“How many times have I told you, Ritsu-Senpai!! Iris is not a pillow!!! You can’t sleep on her!!!”) (“But.. you do…”) (“Thats not the point!!!”) Ritsu has honestly found a great attraction to Arashi (in a platonic way) he sees her as a big sister and Arashi is sooooo validated by that. Ritsu’s burst may as well be something like Mona’s or Layla’s, a debuffer / debuffing field for the boss and a buff for the knights.

Unit: They do actually go around and sing and dance and they also go around and cause problems…. on accident?? Tsukasa and Arashi are usually damage control

Despite their crimes, Knights is pretty popular for their music and choreography!! Also how they add elemental powers within their performances!! Except for Leo he isnt allowed.

I just wanna share the idea of yandere!Ayato Kamisato having a childhood friend he was in love with but couldnt pursue either cuz his parents couldnt get darling’s prents to agree or there was too big of a difference in status or darling simply didnt love him that way and rejected him the first time he proposed. Either way, he’s pining and overprotective/posessive and darling is uncomfortably aware why (as is the rest of Inazuma- after all, no one could forget how lovestruck Ayato was as a child and even as an adult he orders ridiculous amounts of presents for the simple reason of pleasing you) so Darling plans to take a trip abroad. Unfortunately for her, the Kamisato parents die and Ayato and Ayaka terribly need that support and stability so she stays.

Everyone believes she’s officially Ayato’s woman now. Too many people call her Lady Kamisato even aftrr her many attempts to correct them. Heck, even the Shogun called her “Yashiro Commission’s Lady” in front of the nation that one time she gave a public address and you just so happened to have been tasked with handing her the ordinances. No matter what you cant escape Ayato, and he’s not even really doing anything that’s forcing you by his side- everyone else is! Its maddening. Especially when he plays innocent as if he didnt have a hand in orchestrating it all as he asks how your day went during the private dinner the servants prepared for just you two in his private quarters.

Darling gets desperate and hears of an interesting rumor. The fatui. A plot ? Of some sort? To turn Inazuma into a land of solitude? Cut off communication with the outside world....? Darling doesnt really understand and she KNOWS she should report this to someone but... why should she? When everyone’s been practically forcing her to Ayato’s side against her will? But its still her home...

But her mind is made up the moment she returns to the kamisato estate and hears the servants gossiping, gossiping about Lord Ayato purchasing the best gemstones straight from Liyue itself and the services of the best jeweler in Inazuma to craft a special gift for her. A ring.

And Darling feels the dread explode and she turns heel and runs to her room to cry. Awful, so damn awful. Then once all the tears have dried, she plots. She becomes more... accepting. She’s slightly warmer to Ayato’s advances which brings him so much joy that he overlooks too many of the strange ongoings in Inazuma. She asks him for small things, a nice brocade of silk for a kimono there, a pretty hairpin there, some exquisite writing utensils...

It’s on Ayato’s next business trip away from Narukami and after kissing him farewell in the morning she sets off to visit Ritou to procure her escape route. By nightfall, she is long gone with only the clothes on her back and a handful of jeweled adornments in her pack as she’s off to Liyue. She sells everything, then changes her name and clothes and travels as far as she can.

Ayato’s business trip ends in two weeks.

The Sakokou Decree is announced the next day, and she can’t believe how good her timing was to be able to escape Ayato and how he’s now trapped in the Land of Eternity without her.

She builds a life for herself in Liyue from the ground up. It’s humbling work after years of being pampered by Ayato, but its honest and its invigorating. Once delicately soft hands are now roughened by days of hard labor and soon you’re a part of the community that once looked at you as an oddity. You got to witness some amazing things too, like Lantern Rite, the Rite of Descension, you even travelled to Mondstadt so you could experience the Windblume festival! You brought home trinkets and smiled and shared with the kids who always were enraptured by your stories.

But... who knew the God of Eternity would ever rescind a decision she’s made? Only a year after its been decreed Inazuma reopens its borders.

And Ayato appears at the doorstep of your home, a placid smile that does not reach his infuriated eyes as he asks how you’ve been, a satchel in his grip before he dumps out all the jewels he gave you and you sold at the beginning of your freedom from him.
