How can I write a female alpha without having any kind of penis whatsoever? I have written fics where they have one but I wanna try something different for this one fic. Any suggestions?

Hi! This is how I write my female alphas, so I'll tell you what I do, and then offer you some options.

My AU: female alphas have female anatomy and can get pregnant by male alphas, female alphas, male betas, and male omegas (very rare). Female alphas can also impregnate other people (omegas, and female betas) with a substance similar to slick that carries a low concentration of sperm cells.

some options I've seen -

female alphas who can do a ovapositing situation, (undefined) without male genitalia

female alphas have pheremones that are released only during intercourse that can impregnate omegas

(what you're referring to) female alphas have some sort of organ that can act like a phallus when aroused.

The intersection between gender and dynamic is interesting, and every author writes it a little bit differently. Peanut gallery, what have you heard of? Let us know down below!

Adoption in Omegaverse

So, I decided to make this post cause I am a Transracial Adoptee and I know omegaverse isn’t irl but it’s very involved in its fantasy sciences

When I talk about ‘adoption,’ I do not mean family adoptions I mean an unrelated person taking care of an unrelated person.  Overall Tw because I will talk about the affects/effects it may have on individuals and also this isn’t a post about a set conclusion. This is me ranting and questioning on how things would go. I also implore and encourage you do to your own research about how adoptions have positive and negative affects/effects on adoptees 

I also want to emphasis you do not have to make adoption bad or negative in your verse. The point of this post is me asking questions as an adoptee myself and how’d it work. 

Questions that I asked myself: When a baby is separated from its mother in real life, that child suffers neurobiological problems. Pit this with omegaverse? I bet that that would be increased by a significant amount.

Why?

Scent.

A wolf pup will look for its mothers scent to help comfort it- that’s just a biological thing pups will do. And if she comes back smelling not correct the pup will then get confused and maybe even ‘aggressive,’

I can see in omegaverse that pups separated at birth and given to another non biological person suffering some amounts of scent confusion. (As in they have no one to really seek that biological scent comfort from and scramble to adapt to that scent but due to the nature of kids being passed around I can see this being difficult for many individuals.) Ofc they can grow out of this- or maybe they don’t, it all depends, just like irl

I also wonder and ask myself will the life of omegaverse with all of its technologies and emphasis on ‘biology,’ will be aware of this and more open. I also wonder of adoption agencies will be less sleezy and exploitative as irl or maybe they’ll be even more exploitive. Saying stuff like how the pup hasn’t had an efficient scent to cling to and thus pulling the heartstrings of parents 

 Now as for adoptive parents: Omegaverse puts a lot of emphasis on pups. Ones that cannot have pups will turn to adoption but as like irl the intent is important: adoptive parents who want a kid more than wanting to help a kid who needs a home are walking red flags. Same with vice versa. (One wanting the picture perfect child and one having a savior complex.) There needs to be a healthy balance

And with all the biological needs and social emphasis on needing pups I feel like humans in a/b/o verse would very much be on the “turned to adoption because we couldn’t have any,”

So case in point: I think adoption in a/b/o would be kinda more fucked up than irl, and just like irl I do think there is a safe and humane way to adopt. (That is a whole other thing that if you need to ask, I can explain.) Our world now just isn’t doing that, and maybe due to the technological advancements that the a/b/o world has they figured out a way to do that already.

How? I don’t know exactly.

I’m sorry of this post was a downer, it was just a post to get people thinking and I am open to answer any questions regarding what I’ve said here 

Also another thing I am not a huge worshiper of biological relationships- even though I acknowledge that adoption has fucked with me, I still love my adopted parents. Even if they could have done better for me.  fuck ‘blood must stick together’ and fuck ‘love is thicker than blood’ - you don’t need to consider either more important. You can have a balance. As long as you’re happy where you are that’s all that matters

Hear me out... Omegas as leaders.

Maybe omegas don't usually take the lead when doing things but... What about the essence of changes? Don't you think that omegas would have a wide scope of ideas to think through, and therefore more to add?

I think that omegas would quietly lead with focus, calmness and love. Maybe they would act through and alpha, not being so keen on action, but the main ideas and organization could come from the structured, calm and rational mind of a mature, "equilibrated" omega, who carefully thinks things through and makes sure to include different perspectives. What do you think?

Social norms on Omegaverse Pt.1 (My Interpretation)

• It is VERY impolite to touch someone else’s scent gland without permission. If it’s an accident it is not taken very serious, and people usually just brush it off as a comic and awkward accident. But if you touched it on purpose just to get a reaction be prepared cause the person (and their friends if around) WILL fight you. And in more severe circumstances you can even get charged with sexual assault.

• You shouldn’t court a person if they already are being courted by somebody else, regardless of their dynamics. It is just common sense. You should wait until the person being courted dismisses the request, then you can make a move. You can take the risk though. Being seen as socially acceptable or not doesn’t mean that this stops anyone from doing so. But the fight you’ll be​ picking with the one already counting the person you’re interested in is on your own account and risk.

• If you smell an Omega close to their heat on class, work or streets, it is not very polite to look or talk directly to them when they’re with their mate. This will make the Alpha (and sometimes the Beta if that’s the case) extremely protective and you’ll risk offending both of them and even involving yourself in a fight with said Alpha (or Beta). The social norm is just to lower your head (regardless of what dynamics you may be) and move along, ignoring the situation.

• Same goes for Alphas close to their ruts. Their Omega (or Beta) will get defensive. You should simply ignore and keep doing whatever you’re doing. And if communication is necessary, you should ALWAYS direct your word to their mate, and never to them.

hi, different anon, but WRT only primary gender fic-- the premises would probably be like "but how do they know its True Love without scents???" and "ooh no mates so everyone has ONE THOUSAND partners!!!"

Oh I think there are a million things they'd get hung up on.

They might get confused about what "straight" is, rather I think they'd be confused by what's gay. Think about it, to them a female alpha and a female omega wouldn't be too out of the traditional view because they could still have a baby.

Same as the one above I think they wouldn't be able to grasp how much of our lives is determined by the pervasiveness of the idea of the gender binary.

If they live in a pack culture they'd be confused why the idea of having multiple partners is odd. Etc.. Etc..

Not just scents, but they'd be really confused about how we communicate. They have so many non-verbals that we don't have, and it would be nearly impossible to envision socialization without them.

And last but not least, the fics are probably so bad that their offensive. And it's just like in any fandom where people are constantly arguing about the details and absolutely nobody has any idea whats up or down.

I’m kind of new to the whole a/b/o dynamics, I’ve recently started reading fanfics with the dynamics and was really interested in it and find the whole thing kind of cool but a lot of the stuff is a bit confusing and I’m not sure where to look for information so I was wondering if you would mind giving me kind of a rundown on what all the terms and everything means if it’s not too much to ask😅

My interpretation of alpha scents are that they are strong, but not necessarily 'masculine' if that makes any sense. Lemon is a great "uncommon" one, because although people naturally tend to give omegas floral/fruit-based scents, lemon is easily overpowering and strong!

Could I ask for some scents that would be common for Alphas? I'm honestly having trouble coming up with any, other than coffee.

I would think that Alphas have a lot of earthier scents, but they could smell like absolutely anything.

Masters: These blogs seek to teach people about a/b/o as a form of education. They often are either writers, readers, or hobbyists who are interested in the genre and aim to help others with their writing, reading, etc... These blogs have a lot of information about a wide variety of omegaverse concepts. They also usually are very open to helping you with your question

Lifestylers: These blogs are run by people who love to emulate/identify as living within an a/b/o dynamic (known as miscecanis). They will often identify as a specific dynamic to educate their followers about, through headcanons, personal stories, etc... These blogs have a lot of information about anything that relates specifically about their dynamic. If you have questions about betas specifically, a bata focused lifestyle blogger would be a great resource

Example: @curious-omega , @sunshine-omega, @misce-beta, @miscecrisis

Artillery: These are blogs that love publishing their own headcanons. While Lifestylers and Informers also do this, artillery do it the most frequently and may be known for it. These blogs are great for coming up with new ideas, solving problems in your fic/AU if you’ve gotten stuck. They are also great places to go to brainstorm and be inspired.

Generators: These bloggers are writers! They often have a specific fandom or ship that they are most well versed in, such as Stucky or MHA, and love to share their writing or prompts. If you are looking to write any kind of omegaverse story, this is a great place to start to learn the feel of using it as a plot device. Not all generators write exclusively omegaverse fics!

Okay one of my favorite versions of omegaverse to read is reverse harem, in which there is one omega and then a whole bunch of alphas/betas whom they are mated to. This type of pack is really fun to read about. Instead of having one main mate who "shares" the omega with the others, they are all equally mated to the omega and because of this they all have a unique bond.

But here are some hcs for some other arraignments:

1. Alpha/omega/alpha: The alphas are best friends and both fell in love with the omega. Although they aren't romantically interested in each other, they're practically platonic partners anyways and would love to start one big family. (or they could be in love too).

2. Alpha has to go away for a long time, ie. many of the omegas heats, so he goes out and finds another alpha to stay with the omega and take care of them while he's gone. Making sure the omega is protected as well as getting them through heats.

3. Alpha knows that the omega has always had.. certain fantasies and because their next heat coincides with their birthday the alpha decides to get them a special treat. The alpha invites a few of their alpha friends over, who know the situation, and it's just a whole week of lust and s**, everything that the omega ever dreamed of.

4. Pack situation where the alpha "gives" the omega to a competing pack's alpha for a night as a sign of good faith.

5. Pack situation: if an alpha plans to wed an omega, he must give the omega over to the head alpha the night before their wedding/mating ceremony as a symbol of loyalty. The head alpha will bed with the omega, but will not mate them.

it's customary for weddings to be planned a couple days before the omega's heat. The "honeymoon" then refers to the couple's mating during this period, as well as a synced heat/rut.

Couplings that don't involve an omega still observe this. Both partners may order an over-the-counter hormone pill to induce a rut to simulate this tradition.

Fact 80: Omegas purr when they're happy and some omegas purr more often than others.

For example, omega 1 purrs only when surrounded by pack who is also purring but omega 2 will start the purr machine at the drop of a hat. They wake up in cozy blankets? Purr. A friend makes them happy? Purr.

The point is, omegas can purr louder, quieter, more often, less often. It just depends on the person.

beta/beta dynamic With a Beta older kid and a Younger Omega Kid?

with two beta parents, any child is in good hands, but that doesn't mean they won't have any internal struggles.

The eldest child will probably never question their identity, as living as a beta is a default in their home. But, because the omega sibling is younger and different, the parents may pay special attention to them so they never feel left out. This means the beta child may develop a sort of complex and wish that they too had been born an omega.

The omega child wouldn't accept this extra attention as endearing and filled with love, they would become frustrated with how easy their sibling seems to have it. No heats, no slick, no hovering parents. As soon as they could go on heat suppressants they would, and telling people they came from a beta/beta household would be a point of pride. It wouldn't be until they got older that they saw that their parents were just trying to be helpful and embrace who they are as an omega.

The beta too would one day come to understand. It might be a while, but eventually, the siblings would come back together and settle as good friends.

hello! I'm currently writing a ABO fic right now and it just dawned on me that I have no gender neutral to address male Ω's and female α's. Could you please help me on this?

Sure, I'm assuming you are thinking of pronouns etc..

In my au I just use she/he/they because it's less complicated to write but I think this is pretty cool too.

INFO: Using dynamic-specific pronouns would denote that their dynamic would be the primary way they were identified in society, where their gender is secondary. This could lead to a lot of cool things like lots of what we think of as "gender fluidity" in the way people express themselves.

Here are some pronouns for you though:

omegas: om/ohm/om's

betas: ta/tam/ta's

alphas: phe/phi/phe's

PRONUNCIATION:

om (as in om nom nom, or bomb), not like noom or boom

ohm (as in ohm's law), not om like bomb or om nom nom

ta (as in ta ta!, or taco), not as in talons or tall

tam as in (tim tams, or tammy)

phe (as in fe fi fo fum, or fe-male), not he or p

phi (as in the greek letter, or the golden ratio phi), not pie and not fee

USAGE

It is polite to use these dynamic pronouns with strangers and people you are not close with (co-workers, acquaintances, classmates, etc.). When you become close with someone, you can initiate the "next level" of your friendship by letting them know which intimate pronouns you like to go by, she/he/they, and they will do the same. From then on, even if you aren't close anymore you can still refer to them as these intimate pronouns.

BUT, for moments of respect such as being out at a fancy event, referring to a speaker/celebrity, at a funeral or wedding, etc.. you should refer to anyone older than you with the traditional pronouns as a sign of respect. They can address you however they like.

When you talk about another person to someone else, always use the traditional pronouns to refer to them. That second person hasn't gained that same level of intimacy as you have, so that would be disrespectful. If you know that they are close though, you can use intimate pronouns.
