VPet DigiDuet!

I never thought as an adult to have the chance to own one of these devices, feels like a dream 💚.

My first run was quite satisfactory: raised without trouble the whole line of Agumon… but made some mistakes when overfeeding Gabumon that made him evolve instead to Frigimon xD Still, I loved each moment of it!

Back to the drawing: because it was my first run, I delayed a little when choosing the second Egg after Agumon so, my Gabumon was always the "smaller brother" to him! I wanted to portray what I headcanoned as their relationship in these drawings x)

PD My VPet is a Glown-in-the-Dark version, which makes it extra badass for me to carry around ✨ I'll show a few photos of it under the cut.

So this is basically all of the character designs I did for this AU. Now I’m specifically saying my designs since there was more than one person working on this AU that started in Twitter back in October 2020. While I would say I was the more active in doing art or even writing information for this AU I am not the sole owner of it nor the one who started it. This was a collaborative effort and I want to make sure that fact is never lost. While there is definitely going to be some redesigns;updates; or even rewriting on parts of the background for the characters, also in general the story. I am still happy on how these all turned out (only Crania got real update to his design atm but it was just because I wasn’t satisfied with his lower half look)

One last thing I want to share is that the final reference sheet shown here is that of the Reborn Knights. As in the Epilogue of the AU all of the Knights who were defeated end up being reborn, with Yggdrasil’s virus having some lasting effects on their data.

ello griff! same anon here. out of curiosity and because it’s one of my favorite digimon, how do you feel about the omegamon alter-s/alter-b and its evolution line?

I think they're pretty cool! I like the BlitzGreymon and CresGarurumon elements. They make for a sleek design for Omegamon Alter S. I'm also a big fan of BlitzGreymon and CresGarurumon in general.

Digital Monster Color designs

I'm in a very boring uni class rn soo I'm gonna rank the Digital Monster Color designs.

Okay soo these are the categories in every version:

-Peak: what I think is the best design in the device.

-Love:my actual favorite design of the device.

-Honorable mentions(HM):3 of what I believe to be very good designs.

-Eghhhh:what I think is the worst design of the device, if I don't have one, it will be my least favorite.

Any other digimon outside of this categories is in a scale of Good to eeeehhh it's fine.

Okay, everything except HM will have some explanation, I will prioritize the '97 designs and this will be me in the order of best to worse device.

Ver.2

-Peak:Cres Garurumon,yeah I know what I said about 97, I explain it the overview. That aside, I usually prefer the gabus lines, and that artwork is just *chef kiss*. Sprite is meh, tho.

-Love:Gabumon , okay it's more about the "lost child energy" of the artwork more that the sprite, but I really love this little fella.

-HM:SkullGreymon, Angemon, Kabuterimon

-Eghhhh: Vademon, tbh I don't quite get Vademon as a design,just probably my least favorite evo of a mistake evo of any version. Vegimon and Ebemon are cool, tho.

Overview: The thing about the ver.2 devices is that I think is a very solid roster in general, so I find it very hard to pick favorites.Also it has very funny sprites tho, like those of Yukidarumon, Whamon, Vegiemon,and MetalMamemon.

Ver.4

-Peak:Megadramon, like just look at it, it's a dragon serpent with wings and cannons for arms.It's the definition of peak.Also sprite is very good.

-Love:BloomLordmon, I just really like this design,I think is a very good interpretation of "Plant knight" also the helmet that looks like a pirate hat is funny.

-HM:Digitamamon, Monochromon, Coelamon.

-Eghhhh:Nanimon, okay if Vademon was my least favorite evo of a mistake evo, this is my actual least favorite mistake evo. I know it's a tamagotchi, but maan that artwork is gross. Sprite is meh.

Overview:Another really solid roster, the only thing I don't like about it is nanimon, especially when you have to go through it to get a good design, Digitamamon. Also, Bandai's choice of making Genkoomon the digitamamon evo just baffles me.

Ver.1

-Peak:Metalgreymon, virus Metalgreymon is one of the best digimon designs in general,so I'm very glad it is in this device and not the vaccine version.

-Love:Tyranomon, hands down, Tyranomon is my favorite design of all time, like just look at him, he's just a jolly and friendly tyrannosaurus rex, it's the best.

-HM:Devimon,Betamon,BanchoMamemon.

-Eghhhh:tbh,I don't really have a digimon I don't like that much in this device,soo I'm going to say Omegamon Alter S. just beacuse I'm tired of Omegamonn, even tho Alter S. is one of the best Omegamon designs.

Overview: the Ver.1 is also really solid, but in my personal opinion has a problem in which that the adults are really "adjacent?",like Tyranomon, Greymon, Meramon, Airdramon and Devimon I feel they have like some relation to fire, even tho they aren't fire digimon half of them. Tyranomon and Greymon are actual fire dinosaurs, Meramon in straight up a fire man, Devimon is a devil soo is kinda connected, and Airdramon is dragon-like with those red wings,so it seems like is fire related.That aside, the childs, perfects and megas are really solid.

Ver.3

-Peak:Orgemon, the Ver.3 context is somewhat dire,soo I guess Orgemon is fine,I like the Orc + Oni design.

-Love:Drimogemon, okay I don't like it quite as much, but in the Ver.3 context is probably my favorite, even tho is probably because his face looks like a butt xD.

-HM:Centalmon, Giromon, Patamon

-Eghhhh:Chimariamon, look I get what's trying to do, I don't think the idea is executed as best as it could.

Overview:First of all, the lines are a mess. Not like in "this makes no sense as an evolution", a mess in the sense as to why there is an extra digimon out of nowhere.Second, this device is full of digimons I don't feel anything about them as a group.Like, Bokomon, Centalmon, Giromon, Andromon are fine in it's own, but not all in the same device.Also there's the digimon I don't care about at all, like Shellmon, Unimon, Kunemon, and so on.

Ver.5

-Peak:Mugendramon, tbh I think this is also one of the best digimon designs in general, but is held back for the things I'm going to explain in dept on the overview

-Love:Ex-Tyranomon, plushie Tyranomon, next. (Also Bandai you cowards, make an actual Tyranomon plushie).

-HM:Devidramon, Dark Tyranomon, Chaosdramon

-Eghhhh:Flymon, I had to pick one, I will go on detail in the overview.

Overview: Let's talk about the elephant in the room, this device has a serious case of awful sprites. Like,some of the designs are more of less good, but the sprites held them back. By example , for some reason, MetalTyranomon cables seem like veins, making it kinda creepy. Aaaand there are the weird ugly designs even in artwork, both Childs are whack; Cyclomon, Flymon, Tuskmon, Deltamon, Raremon are whack; Nanomon is meh. The tragedy of this version is that the perfect onwards stuff is fine-cool, but everything else is pretty bad.

Time of Birth: Born sometime after 2005 Title: The Black Knight Aliases: Kuromaru, Kuro-kun Origin: Formed following the reset of the digital world via leftover data which was not fully purged during Attribute: Virus Stages: Kuramon -> Tsumemon -> BlackAgumon -> BlackGreymon -> MetalGreymon (Virus)/SkullGreymon -> BlackWarGreymon -> Gaioumon/Omegamon Zwart (Jogress)/Omegamon Zwart -> Gaioumon: Itto Mode/Omegamon Alter-B (Jogress)/Omegamon Zwart Defeat (Jogress and Further Evolution) Partner(s): Taichi “Tai” Kamiya (Pre-Death), Enrique Cantu

(Verse: Loosely a combo of the original Adventure series and referencing the reboot in the Adventure Tri. series.)

Appearance Kuromaru is a typical digimon of its species in any of its stages, though a key distinction is that leading into the current era of the digital world he wears a large red scarf which was a gift from his partner Enrique, who often complained about how cold it was. When evolving, Kuromaru is known to be slightly more physically imposing than other Greymon, though as BlackAgumon he’s on the smaller side.

Personality As a virus, this particular BlackAgumon expresses a degree of conceit regarding its nature, seeing other virus digimon and base and simple creatures that have no sense of justice or morality, concepts which he mulls over at length. Due to a confusion at the vague memories of the original BlackWarGreymon (he sees these as impossible due to the nature of the digital world and his never having seen such an Ultimate-Level or heard of one before).

Generally unfriendly, Kuromaru prefers to keep others at a distance, but particularly looks down on the weak. If he believes someone is strong, then he will often show them more respect. Defiant to the end, however, trying to force him to do things usually results in overt contradictory action.

Earlier in his evolution it is still easy to trick the digimon into doing things. Particularly, as a Child stage or even occasionally in his Adult stage Kuromaru will often be more willing to act as a lackey, though around the time he reaches Perfect or Ultimate then he will take to his more solitary nature.

Foodwise, Kuromaru favors spicy and savory things, quickly dismissive of most sweets, unless it’s using an abundance of high-fructose corn syrup.

Biography Starting out in The Village of Beginning, this particular digimon would quickly evolve into Rookie stage due to a willingness to engage in combat against the other digimon primed to become viruses. Once reaching this stage, this BlackAgumon began to travel the digital world, at one point met a human, named Enrique, who became his partner for a time.

The two would be separated, though, and Kuromaru (the name he took to avoid those that Enrique pitched) was alone to wander the digital world again.

Abilities and Skills -Physical Ability: Kuromaru’s physical parameters are largely consistent with those of his species, until he reaches Champion form, at which point he becomes remarkably stronger and faster than his peers among the Greymon line. This is thanks to the excess data gathered from defeating and consuming so many other digimon, while also being linked to the soul of a human child for a time. Upon reaching Ultimate (BlackWarGreymon) he becomes practically indestructible, requiring multiple Ultimate Level digimon to be fought, much less beaten. For context: Rookie digimon generally are considered able to destroy large buildings on their own without much issue, with vaporizing chunks of concrete being a common feat, while a Perfect Level MegaKabuterimon (considered middling tier among the team’s Digimon) could destroy an entire dimension the size of a galaxy on its own, and the champion-level Angemon could destroy an entire dimension filled with stars. The physical power and durability of BlackWarGreymon (especially this specimen) easily outpaced the two examples given. -Raw Power: BlackWarGreymon (this one at least) is considered 1-C at least, given the fact that he is able to defeat a being which is functionally able to keep the Digital World contained and held together. As the version of the Digitalworld that Azulongmon kept together is functionally a multiverse, this means that he contends with such beings that have such creation abilities. Gaia Force and Dark Gaia Force (an attack which he can use frequently) more or less draws in the matter of an entire atmosphere. -Speed: Can keep up speed-wise and outpace the likes of MegaKabuterimon, whose attacks are fast enough to destroy a galaxy-sized dimension rapidly. This puts Kuromaru’s Ultimate form as MFTL+.

Weaknesses and Limitations -Vaccine-Type Digimon: Vaccine digimon express a vague somewhat numeric advantage over Virus Digimon. However, WarGreymon, a digimon of the same evolutionary level and similar species, was only able to fight Kuromaru’s previous incarnation (and thus his baseline Ultimate form) to a standstill despite this advantage, requiring an additional Ultimate digimon (a jogress even) to intervene. -Water and Ice attacks: A more reliable method of weakening Kuromaru is using water and ice attacks to douse his various attack methods. Even oceans and iceburgs significantly weaken his attacks at Ultimate level, particularly in areas of low temperature that dull down his parameters.

I think about Digimon Adventure 2020 a lot. How cool it was before it became Digimon Taichi's Adventure~

God if only~ Using different evolutions, having a different unofficial partner? baller moves, love them.

I mean yes we did get to have an actual evolution transformation for Omegamon and seeing Alter-S. But at what cost~
