As the lecture hall filled with students scrambling to find a seat, Ushijima remained seated, his attention fixed on the flurry of activity around him.

Amidst the commotion, his keen eyes caught a glimpse of familiar silver hair darting through the crowd, searching anxiously for an available spot. Ushijima’s heart quickened its pace as recognition washed over him. It was Suga.

He watched as Suga frantically looked around, trying to find a seat before the lecture started. Many of the other alphas in the room kept their eyes on him, and some even nudged their friends to make room so they could offer the omega the seat next to them.

With only a few minutes remaining before the lecture commenced, Ushijima noticed the other alphas eyeing Suga, and he didn't like it. Deciding to take action, he offered the free seat next to him. His deep, resonant voice reverberated through the auditorium as he called out, "You can have the seat next to me."

Suga’s eyes widened in surprise as he turned towards Ushijima, his features painted with a mixture of relief and gratitude. He hurriedly made his way towards the vacant seat, expressing his thanks with a nod.

Ushijima nodded back, though internally his heart soared, realizing that the first crush he had ever harbored was now sitting just inches away from him and engaging in conversation.

Suga introduced himself, his voice laced with enthusiasm, “Hi. I’m Sugawara Koushi. Thank you for letting me sit next to you. I thought I was gonna have to sit closer to the back.”

Ushijima listened to Suga ramble attentively, trying to suppress the overwhelming excitement bubbling within him. The silver-haired omega’s radiant smile illuminated the space between them, captivating Ushijima in ways he couldn’t fully comprehend.

“You were on the Karasuno team, right?” Ushijima finally asked, his voice betraying a hint of awe.

"Yes, that's right," Suga replied with a modest smile. "I was a setter for the Karasuno team. I didn’t play much though. I’m surprised you knew who I was."

"Your skills on the court were impressive." Ushijima's admiration evident in his voice.

A small smile finds its way to Ushijima’s lips as he watches Suga’s eyes widen in surprise.

“Oh, thank you. Are you still playing-“

Their conversation was abruptly interrupted by the professor’s commanding voice, signaling the start of the lecture. Ushijima and Suga exchanged a glance, their connection momentarily severed, but a spark of anticipation lingered in their eyes.

Throughout the class, Ushijima couldn't help but steal glances at Suga. He observed the way Suga's amber eyes darted across his laptop, diligently taking notes. At one point, during the droning lecture of their professor, Suga looked up and met Ushijima's gaze, causing the alpha to quickly avert his eyes back to the front. He heard a small snicker from the shorter man.

The professor concluded his introduction, leaving the students buzzing with anticipation, “And that concludes today’s lecture. Now, for our semester-long project, I want each of you to find a partner to work with. It’s crucial to collaborate effectively to ensure success.”

Ushijima looks around the room, noticing the hungry gazes of other alphas fixated on Suga, their eyes filled with a desire to team up with the captivating omega.

Suga, feeling the attention from others, looked at Ushijima out the corner of his eyes with a smirk. “Oh, so many alphas seem eager to pair up with an omega. Who to choose…” He taps his chin looking around.

With a possessive glare, Ushijima made it clear that he wouldn’t tolerate anyone encroaching on what he had already claimed. He remained vigilant, ensuring that no unwanted approaches came Suga’s way. Ushijima’s protective instinct intensified, unwilling to let anything or anyone come between him and the opportunity to get closer to Suga.

As the lecture came to an end, Suga turned towards Ushijima, his eyes shining with a hint of coy playfulness. He asked the alpha, his voice slightly teasing, "Hey, Ushijima, do you want to be partners for the project? I understand if you’d like to work with someone else.” He finishes with a small pout.

Ushijima maintained his calm facade, nodding his head in agreement, while his insides churned with inner turmoil. As he looked at Suga's cute pout, he couldn't help but admire the omega's silver hair and the beauty mark under his left eye. The combination made Suga even more enchanting in Ushijima's eyes. Trying to quell the racing thoughts, he managed to say with a steady voice, "I do not mind, Sugawara." A small grin grew on Suga's face, causing Ushijima's heart to skip a beat, caught in the captivating pull of the omega's charm.

“Suga is fine.” Suga mischievous grin grew wider. He leaned in slightly, lowering his voice playfully, "You know, Ushijima, I have a feeling we'll have a lot of fun working together."

Ushijima tried to maintain his usual stoic expression, but internally, he panicked. Catching a small hint of Suga's cinnamon and sugar scent, his inner alpha yearned to inhale more, struggling to control his desires. The conflicting emotions intensified as he grappled with hiding the impact Suga's presence had on him.

“You and me, Ushijima-san, we’re going to kick everyone’s ass!” Suga exclaimed, his voice laced with determination and anticipation. Ushijima couldn’t help but be swept away by Suga’s infectious enthusiasm, a warmth spreading through his chest.

As the two of them discussed their schedules, Suga raised a concern about Ushijima’s demanding volleyball training schedule, wondering if he would have enough time to spare for the project.

Ushijima nodded assuredly, his determination unwavering. “I’ll make time in my schedule, Suga-san.”

Suga beamed at Ushijima’s commitment, rising from his seat with another bright smile. “I’ll see you on Thursday in the library, then!” he declared before swiftly rushing off to his next class, leaving Ushijima with a sense of anticipation and a lingering image of that radiant smile.

With each passing moment, Ushijima felt an unfamiliar eagerness building inside him, as he anticipated the next time he would see Suga again. This new emotion was weird, but a welcome change, filling him with excitement and anticipation for their upcoming meeting.

Shoyo is definitely competitive, but he's usually reasonable, except when he's trying to defeat Kageyama; it's kinda fun to compete against him.

It actually doesn't matter if it's volleyball or not, they're always trying to prove who's better. So when the team starts running in order to exercise a little, both of them turn it into a competition and forget about the others.

However, it usually surprises Shoyo when he notices that Kageyama tries not to use his werewolf abilities in order to defeat the orange haired human; he's usually trying to compete against him like any other human would.

Which is kinda nice, although it's not like Shoyo is going to admit it out loud.

That particular morning their obsession with competing takes to Shiratorizawa. And that's how they meet the intimidating captain of the team.

Of course he's a werewolf too and a very tall one. Kageyama recognizes him first actually.

"That's Ushijima." He grumbles, looking upset already. "A prime alpha."

Shoyo would like to remind Kageyama that his werewolf terms mean nothing to him because he doesn't know anything about them. But he knows that whatever "prime alpha" means, it makes Kageyama feel irritated.

"Is that something good or bad?"

"It's... good," the young setter admits like the word hurts him. It must be something really good then because Kageyama sucks at complimenting other people.

Right before arriving at the school, Ushijima notices them and stops before turning to face them.

"Are you an omega?"

Kageyama growls even though he's not the one Ushijima is talking to; he's looking down at Shoyo with a curious expression on his face.

Sometimes it makes him feel ashamed to admit he doesn't know a lot about werewolves because he's part of a team of them, but when he tried to learn about it, Sugawara gave him a book and that's when Shoyo lost interest, if he's being honest.

He tilts his head to the side and wonders if it's an insult or not, but decides that it mustn't since he has also heard Sawamura talk about omegas often.

"I'm not a werewolf," he finally says.

"You smell like an omega," Ushijima comments and Shoyo considers yet again if he's being insulted or not. "I like your scent."

The human is even more confused now, but he doesn't say anything to that because Kageyama is getting more and more irritated.

"We're from Karasuno!" He blurts out instead, to which Ushijima narrows his eyes.

"Concrete," he utters the word and now Shoyo knows they're being insulted.

"Are you pouting?"

"I'm scowling!" Shoyo frowns, glaring at Kageyama.

"That's what you call a scowl?"

"Are you on my side or not?"

He's not sure why Ushijima invites them inside, but they walk in Shiratorizawa, marveling at every single thing they see. When they reach the gym; Shoyo gets excited at the sound of sport shoes making contact with the floor and the ball bouncing back and forth.

When someone hits the ball and accidentally is propelled through the door, Shoyo rushes towards it at the same time as Ushijima and jumps so high he manages to catch it before Shiratorizawa's captain does.

"I'm Hinata Shoyo, from concrete," he says as he hands the ball back. "And I'm going to defeat you."

Instead of getting angry, Ushijima smiles, just a little bit, and leans forward. He takes the ball in one hand and uses the other to take Shoyo's wrist; he would be worried if it wasn't because the grip is actually very gentle.

He knows Ushijima is not trying to hurt him. However, he certainly doesn't understand what's going on or why Kageyama looks like he's about to start punching Shiratorizawa's captain. Shoyo hopes he doesn't because they'll get in trouble if he does.

His cheeks turn slightly pink when he feels Ushijima's thumb drawing a few circles on his wrist, right over his pulse.

"Oi, he was already scented!" Kageyama hisses, pulling Shoyo away from the other werewolf.

"I know he has a pack, but he doesn't have a mate yet, I can tell," Ushijima retorts, narrowing his eyes at the setter.

Ugh. Mate. Another word Shoyo doesn't understand.

"Give me your answer after the match, Hinata Shoyo."

"Okay," he blurts out, even though he has no idea what Shiratorizawa's captain is talking about. Besides, he doesn't even have the time to ask anyway because Kageyama is already carrying him over his shoulder and running away from the other werewolf.

Another weird day.

Fortunately, his teammates decide to explain everything to him.

Kageyama doesn't even have to say anything because as soon as he leaves Shoyo back in their own gym, the whole Karasuno team surrounds him.

Sawamura takes his arm and glares at Shoyo's wrist; he has no idea what he's exactly staring at because the human can't see anything at all.

"Who was it?" Sugawara asks.

"Ushijima," Kageyama growls the name like the other werewolf is his archenemy or something.

"Can someone tell me what's going on?" Shoyo pouts and this time he's aware he's doing that.

"Ushijima wants to fu–" Tsukishina gets abruptly interrupted when Yamaguchi covers his mouth.

"He means Ushijima wants to court you."

"Court?"

Sugawara rolls his eyes at Shoyo's confused expression.

"He wants to go on dates with you."

"Oh," Shoyo blurts out because he doesn't know what to say. He's sure he's completely red. No one has ever been interested in him before. "Are you sure?"

"Yeah," Sawamura nods, although he doesn't look happy about it. "He left a bit of his scent on your wrist. It's how it's done among werewolves. Although I do think you're too young for that."

"What was your answer?" Yamaguchi asks, genuinely curious.

"He said I could give him an answer after our match."

"And what are you going to tell him?" Kageyama asks. He looks so pissed, although Shoyo is not sure why.

"I don't know," he mumbles sincerely. The whole werewolf thing is very confusing for him. He needs to think about it for a couple of days at least, he doesn't even know how he feels.

"Tch!" Kageyama hisses and turns around to start practicing on his own.

He stops talking to Shoyo after that, even though he still tosses the ball to him. Shoyo is not sure why he's so mad out of the sudden. Sugawara tells him to give Kageyama some space for now.

So, it was a fanfic in English on Wattpad, on the fandom Haikyuu I remember that : it was some kind of omega verse Hinata (omega) and his parents were in a plane crash in the Amazon forest and Hinata survived, he was a child, Kita shinsuke (Inarizaki captain) (alpha) survived the same plane crash. Shoyo got into the military (Russian-Japanese) for some time after said plane crash and because of that, he was very good at fighting, Natsu wasn't present in the accident and was adopted by coach Ukai, he adopted Hinata later, The volleyball teams are some kind of gangs (they had their "territories". At one point, Hinata stopped a fight between Oikawa and Ushijima (both alpha) because he had to take Natsu from school and they were on the way. Ushijima got interested by Hinata because of that. There is one scene I remember clearly : Shoyo was going to eat lunch with Yamaguchi (omega) when they found Sugawara (omega) getting attacked by 3 alphas. Hinata started to fight after one of them hit Yamaguchi and stared the beat them up. At the same time, Daichi (Sugawara's mate) was in a meeting with other School Presidents (from other schools) and someone told him that Sugawara was in the infirmary, still at the same time, Yamaguchi went to Tsukishima (alpha) and Kageyama (alpha) to get help, Hinata already beat up most of them and for the last one, he beat him up in front of the School Presidents. The kid was the son of the vice-principal

Karasuno

Daici is an alpha and nobody can deny it. The strong scent of oak, orange and Good coffee just out of the mocha is difficult to get rid of if a hug or being close enough to him happens.

For this reason in the first year, he had "the safety distance" that he put into practice when an omega approached.

Sugawara Koshi. He is the most beloved alpha of the school at home of his appearance. Several omegas try with him, who, not being interested, goes away calmly. He prefers Betas. Its smell is Linden, Passion fruit and coriander. During matches, his inner Alpha gets so excited that he sometimes has a hard time keeping it at bay.

Ennoshita is a quiet boy, many mistake him for a Beta. Instead he too is an Alpha. The smell of him is not very strong. Lemon tea with mango and cinnamon, it's a typical smell for an omega. All this is due to relatives. The grandmother is an Alpha (alpha women are rare) the parents beta. He likes omegas with short hair.

Tanaka. Even for him it doesn't have to be said. A strong Alpha who loves the beautiful manager Kiyoko. The strong personality greatly affects the smell of her. Spices, roasted meat and a light night of tiger lily, younger alphas fear it.

Hinata's entire family is made up of betas. but he is an Omega. Until his sister was born, his uncles thought he was adopted. Also Natsu Is AN omega. They also smell very similar. They both taste like clementines. For Hinata it is also calendula and honey.

Tobio is also an alpha. He doesn't really like the attention he gets from omegas. He is blatantly gay, he will never admit it though, due to a super straight blonde alpha who would make fun of him. (Cof, cof, tsukki, stop please...) It tastes like milk, salmon and parquet wax. When he gets pissed he only tastes like rotten milk.

Asahi Is a big alfa With BDE. Unfortunately this causes many to see him as a nasty alpha, territorial and very aggressive if he touches his partner. It's nothing true. He's so sweet of a man, his alpha sends angst filled vibes whenever someone doesn't understand his good intentions. Vanilla, cherry tree and earth are its smell. Most of the time it just feels earthy. When she walks into the gym, she can smell her full scent.

Tsukishima kei. This guy is an Alpha. He doesn't know that his best friend loves him. He just can't see it damn, he needs more glasses ... Deep down he likes the company of Bokuto and Kuroo (He won't even admit it under torture though). And yes. He would make fun of Tobio if he found out that he is gay. If Yamaguchi confesses, he'll turn so red that he'll risk exploding. Its smell is of spicy udon, mint and spray paint. When Yamaguchi argued at the retreat, he was so frustrated that the smell As a chemist he did not take off his clothes.

Nishinoya, This little sliver of pure energy is a beta. His Kohai are terrified of him, again for the same reason. He hangs around like a sentinel alongside Kiyoko and Yachi. This ball of energy, it's so fast, third years don't know how to handle it. except Sugawara. the small and overly energetic beta calms down when he senses that i The alpha of the captain and the number 2 make them nervous. Although it happens that Yuu doesn't give a damn, so he ends up running away from his senpai. . It tastes like star anise, chilli pepper and green tea.

Kiyoko: Obviously it's an Omega. It's not true, she's an Alfa ass kicker too. She knows how to defend herself well from the alphas in heat who hit on her. And she hurts him, all right if she hurts him. Since alpha females are rare, they are also the most respected. So she could conveniently tell Tanaka and Nishinoya to stop "protecting" her. But he likes their liveliness. Its smell is of roses, whiskey and tobacco, inherited from his grandfather.

Yachi is considered the cutest female omega of the first year. She doesn't know, otherwise she would have passed out from embarrassment. When she met the team she was so nervous that her smell was undefined. He loves and admires Kiyoko, his omega would start crying like a baby if he ever made such a big mistake in front of his senpai. She and Asahi get along well, as they are both insecure. Its smell is composed of wildflowers, blueberry mochi and sea breeze.
