Elikkä. Ukraina.

Tuossa aiemmin tänä vuonna  jokin tässä tilanteessa alkoi ärsyttää sen verran, että aloin tekemään hommia vapaaehtoisena Ukrainan hyväksi, sekä opiskelemaan ukrainaa. Eikä siis että vain vähän, tuntui että aivoissa napsahti joku vipu ihan kunnolla, ja tää koko homma lähti menemään ihan uudenlaisen hyperfiksaation tasolla eteenpäin. Taustatietona että mä en ole mitenkään liian kieli-ihminen. Suomi on natiivipuhujana hyvin hallussa, enkku tuli juntattua päähän tässä vuosien pakkopullan aikana, ja kumma kyllä osaan kans marginaalisesti saksaa (ruotsi on vähän unohtunut mutta se on aika helppo). Mutta mikään kyrillisten aakkosten kieli ei ollu millään muotoa tuttu. En osannu sanaakaan esim. venäjää. En osannu aakkosia.

Kuiteskin, tän omituisen motivaation voimalla lähin liikkeelle tavoitteena oppia ukrainaa. Ja lähin sitte liikkeelle sillä ainoolla mikä tuli mieleen eli Duolingo. Kumma kyllä tää kyseenalainen meeminen pöllöappsi toimii mulla, silla sai opittua aakkoset, lausumista ja sanastoa.

Homma alkoi näin:

Parin viikon päästä ukrainan sanasto oli jo enemmän kuin nolla:

Tän hetken tilanne on taas parempi, pänttäämistä takana jotain kahdeksan viikkoa. Tää ei edes oo mitenkään niin hankala kieli ku ajattelin. Ilahduttavan paljon tutunoloisia sanoja, jotkut enkusta, jotkut saksasta ja jotkut suomesta. Lausuminen on silleen tuttua että ukrainaakin lausutaan kuten kirjoitetaan. Onhan tässä oma haasteensa näiden ässänsukuisten äänteiden välillä mutta...

Auttaa tietty ettei oo ihan jonkun puhelinpelin varassa, eli oon löytäny paikallisia ukrainalaisia joiden kanssa keskustella ja kiusata kielikysymyksillä. Ja myös päinvastoin: suomi on jännä kieli, mutta en ollu kauheen ajatuksella aatellu sitä ulkopuolisen silmin. Nyt mä taas muistan mikä on esim. partitiivi, kun on itse tullut pommitetuksi kysymyksillä. Osa on asunu Suomessa jo kauemmin ja osa tuli koska oli pakko, tiedätte kyllä miks.

Ukrainan vaakuna on kans ihan paras. Kaikella rakkaudella meiän leijonaa kohtaan, mut tää on hieno.

Oon kans katsonut jotain kieliopetusvideoita tuubista, koettanu harjoitella lukemaan tekstiä ja tutustunu kulttuuriin ja historiaan vähän. Tää kaikki on aika alussa, mut mulla on paha tapa sit viedä joku asia loppuun ku vihdoin lähtee tekemään jotain. Nyt oon ilmoittautunut jo ekalle oikeelle kielikurssille, että sais perusteellisempaa opetusta esim. asioiden taivuttamisesta.

Olishan se aivan perkeleen hienoa sanoo vuosien kuluttua että hei btw osaan puhua ukrainaa koska eräät asiat vitutti ja halusin tehdä asialle jotain.

I finished Veilguard last week and I really enjoyed it! I don't have the time to draw fanart rn, but I played a hot-headed, duty-bound, elven mage Mourn Watcher named Evon. He romanced Davrin and his closest friends were Taash and Harding. More pics and spoilers under cut.

I had a lot of moments while playing feeling like this game was going to be very devisive (and perusing my TLs it sure seems to be, as any proper Dragon Age game should), but it definitely surpassed my expectations. I liked the story, the characters, the art direction, the gameplay, the level design, and the score. It felt good to be correct about a lot of the lore reveals!! And I thought the ending was probably the best Bioware's ever done. Also got very excited to see Dorian and Oli on screen together again. (Even though I wasn't able to make Oli nearly tall enough.)

My ending was reconciled Solas + Inquisitor/Redeemed Solas. Davrin led the B-Team and Neve was captured by Elgar'nan, but later rescued. The remaining Veilguard all survived the final assault. Yes, I've felt like a grieving widow since I finished, thanks for asking.

Who is Oliver lying to in the end?

As many people pointed out, the entirety of the Saltburn movie is about Oliver telling lies to everyone in order to appear as exactly the person they find interesting.

He is a nice, broke boy for Felix and Elspeth to fix, an art connoisseur for James to talk to and a lover for Venetia to seduce. Literally all he knows is be bisexual, eat hot chip and lie. And the story he tells in the end about always having planned to kill the Cattons was just as much a lie as everything else.

Now the question is: Who is he telling this story to? Who is he lying to? Who is he trying to get approval from by changing his story this time?

There are three possible answers I can think of: Elspeth, Himself and The Audience.

tl;dr: Oliver is telling a lie the entire movie, of course he didn't plan to kill the Cattons from the start but he wants you to believe that so badly, and most of all he wants to believe it himself.

1. Elspeth

While Elspeth might be the only other actual person in the room with Oliver, I think it's highly unlikely that she was the one Oliver was lying to, concidering that she is literally in a coma and about to be murdered by Oli. So why would it matter anymore what she thought of him?

That brings us to the next person he could be lying to:

2. Himself

The only person who is really hearing Oliver's story is Oliver himself. And that could be exactly who he is lying to.

He tells himself that his goal had always been to get the house instead of his goal being Felix's attention.

Because he failed so misrably at his first goal he now wants go make mostly himself believe that he never had that goal in first place. He tells himself that he always wanted the house, the money, Saltburn. Because recognising the rejection would mean recognising himself as the loser who doesn't fit in and that would just hurt too much.

But there is also a third "person" in the room with Elspeth and Oli that Oliver could be lying to:

3. The Audience

During the entire movie Oliver desperatly wants to fit in and belong, be a fixed part at Saltburn. But he never achieves that goal, he is always on the outside looking in.

What he can be a part of in the end though is the story itself.

In storytelling there are at least 4 major character types:

the protagonist

the antagonist

the confidant

the love interest

Next to Felix (or anyone in the Catton family, for that matter), Oli could never imagine or dare to imagine that he is the protagonist. How could he see himself as such, concidering that he never felt like he belonged or fit in?

Neither could he be the confidant as... literally no one really confides in him.

That leaves the love interest and the antagonist. The very first thing Oli states in the movie is that he loved Felix but he wasn't in love with Felix. He is purposefully removing himself from the role of the love interest. That is not what he wants to be seen as, even though it is so blatantly obvious that he is in love with Felix.

A reason why he denies being the love interest is because he simply failed at being such. Felix never saw him that way, they were never a thing, quite literally he was never Felix love interest.

That only leaves one character type: The antagonist. The moment Oliver realises that he is never going to be the love interest he decides that he is going to be the last remaining role he could possibly play: the antagonist. And thus he kills Felix.

And from that point of view, painting himself as the calculated antagonist, Oliver tells his lie. He pretends that punching a hole in Felix tire wasn't a try at a love-interest meet-cute but a first step in his evil-mastermind plan. He wants you to overlook that he failed as a love interest and instead wants you to pay attention to the role he has decided to fullfill for you, for the story you're watching: the antagonist. He is telling a lie to The Audience, making himself fit in as the evil, strategic mastermind because that is the role that was left for him to fit into the story.

Oli, então mudando de assunto! Tem duas coisas que eu ando percebendo ultimamente e queria seria saber se sou a única incomodada. A primeira é que de uns tempos pra cá, muitas cmms da krp estão permitindo "racebending parcial", que é ADICIONAR uma etnia que o fc NÃO POSSUI e dizer que isso não é apagamento, porque o personagem ainda tem PARTE da etnia original do fc, tipo assim que loucura é essa???? Aí percebo que tem tido uma onda de Jungkook Miller Kim, porque assim os bonitos simplesmente podem ter nome E SOBRENOME estrangeiro sem contexto algum, só porque é permitido adicionar uma etnia. Na minha cabeça isso nem faz sentido, por que não procuram fcs mestiços então??? A segunda, é que também ando vendo um número exorbitante de personagens (também em cmm krp) que cresceram no Brasil ou moraram no Brasil apenas porque sim, porque quando você vai ver, não faz diferença nenhuma essa ligação com o Brasil pro plot da central ou do próprio personagem mesmo, acaba sendo (não vou generalizar e dizer que sempre, mas na maioria das vezes é) só uma desculpa pra postar música br, meme br e falar gíria br na tl livremente como se fosse uma conta ooc. A impressão que fica é que ninguém quer se dar ao trabalho de ser o mínimo de interpretativo dentro de uma cmm mais, querem só ter um lugar pra postar besteira e fazer amigos ooc. Isso explica o motivo de tudo terminar em hc hoje em dia. Complicado.

Ai, non... Fico até com preguiça de comentar sobre isso porque já aviso, vai gerar polêmica... Sempre gera.

Eu concordo com você, e isso não é de hoje, faz anos que a tag já fazia isso. Agora, com essa 'permissão' de branqueamento de personagens, só estão voltando as origens...

Não é de hoje que a tag usa coreanos principalmente com nomes ocidentais ou brasileiros sem necessidade alguma. Ou sem fazer sentido algum no plot.

Estive em uma comunidade a pouco tempo, acho que até fechou se não me engano, mas que a tl inteira era personagem com apelido, nome estrangeiro e... A comunidade era na Coreia, com personagens coreanos. Pra que? Cadê o sentido? Cadê a ambientação?

Não sei de onde tiraram que coreano tem apelido. Já viram algum dorama que eles usam apelidos? Porque os que eu vejo, chamam os outros pelo nome.

E isso que me desanima demais em comunidades coreanas. Eu tento, juro que tento, mas é o que mais vemos por ai. Coreia só pra usar os fcs queridos, porque não existe um mínimo, digo mínimo mesmo, de comprometimento em interpretar um coreano.

Tofu Curry

Blogin suosikkiresepti kahdeksan vuoden takaa päivitettynä. Alla oleva resepti on enemmän kastike, jonka voi nauttia mieleisen lisukkeen kanssa kun taas vanhempi resepti oli täyteläinen tofukeitto nuudeleilla (Tofu curry Hot Pot).

Edelleen resepti on todella helppo ja varma tapa valmistaa herkullista tofuruokaa. Toivottavasti innostut testaamaan reseptiä!

Tofu curry neljälle

rypsiöljyä 300 g marinoitua Jalotofua 1 sipuli 2-3 valkosipulinkynttä 2 cm pätkä inkivääriä ½ punainen chilipalko 1 punainen paprika 1 rkl currya 2 tl kurkumaa 1-2 tl paprikajauhetta tölkki kookosmaitoa 1 kasvisliemikuutio noin 400 g parsakaalia suolaa tarvittaessa

Taputtele tofu kuivaksi talouspaperilla. Kuutioi tofu suupaloiksi. Lorauta pannulle öljyä, kuumenna ja paista tofut pinnalta rapeiksi. Ota tofut sivuun.

Pilko sipuli, valkosipuli, chili, paprika ja parsakaali. Kuori ja raasta inkivääri. Kuullota sipulit ja inkivääri pannulla. Lisää pannulle mausteet sekä paprika ja parsakaali. Kaada päälle kookosmaito ja murskaa sekaan kasvisliemikuutio. Lisää tarvittaessa vettä. Anna porista noin 5 minuuttia ja lisää joukkoon paistetut tofukuutiot.

Tarjoile nuudelien tai riisin kanssa.

vähän molemmista! sanoisin et kyse on monimutkaista paitsi et monilla amerikkalaisilla on ihan samoja kokemuksia :D

basically mun isoisovanhemmat muutti varsinais-suomesta Michiganiin, mut mun isoäiti oli nuorein kolmastatoista lapsista ja sen vanhemmat kuoli kun se oli viel lapsi. ja mun isoisä oli väkivaltainen kusipää joka vaati sen anna kaiken suomen kulttuurin periksi kun ne meni naimisiin, joten isäni ei koskaan tiennyt paljoa perheenjuurista tai suomesta yleisesti ottaen.

(toinen vaikeus on se et mun isoisoäidin sisko, joka jäi suomessa, ei koskaan kertonut kellekään et sillä on sisko. sen lapset tajusi et nillä on kolmetoista serkkua vasta 90-luvulla, mut toi on toista tarinaa)

nuorena mä tiesin, et mulla on suomalainen taustaa, mutten tiennyt mitään pidemmän kunnes 16v kävin suomessa isäni kans ja se kertoi mulle lapsuudesta ja kuinka paljon se toivon et se olisi ollut tiennyt sen sukua. totta puhuen ennen kun me lähdettiin olin kiinnostuneempi virossa käymiseen, mut tolla matkalla ihastuin suomen kieleen ja päätin opiskelemaan sitä.
