so i have a problem... i’m having a leaving do for my first ever job and i know that everyone pitched in to get me a present but idk if i should get everyone something? my mum just said to get one of those big packs of doughnuts or something for everyone to share but idk?? cause it would be dumb to bring them to the leaving do (which is a meal and drinks) but i don’t want to bring them in on my last day cause obviously not everyone’s got a shift that day. so idk???? what to do????

ok since there’s this one particular user that seems intent on spreading rip hate in every possible way lately and says that anyone who hates him must hate women and q*eer people.... hi! a q*eer woman who likes rip talking here! i know. mind fuck right?

my points are: one. i haven’t seen any rip fans blaming sara for almost getting hanged in salem so idk where that is coming from. and let’s be real here - if rip hadn’t time scattered the team, everyone would be complaining about what a selfish bastard he is, manipulating the team into dying for him.

two. why are you so desperate to hate on him? quite frankly, i never thought i’d be this defensive over a straight white male character and yet here we are, because he isn’t exactly like your usual white fave guy. i’m not saying he’s more important than sara in whatever way. i’m saying that he is severely mentally ill and a lot of fans latch on to his character for this reason. this doesn’t mean that people downplay sara’s trauma and everything she’s been through. it just means that the symptoms of rip’s depression, ptsd and whatever other mi fans recognise in him are a lot easier to relate to for the average viewer: not sleeping, drinking, self deprecation, guilt... yes, even selfishness and lying. they’re all on the ugly, real side of mental illness and they’re a hell of a lot easier to relate to and find comfort in knowing that one of your favourite characters shares them than, for example, sara’s bloodlust.

three. just an extra fun fact: compulsive lying is an actual thing? i don’t know the exact ins and outs of it but as someone whose mum has accused of being one, and who sometimes can’t control it at all, no matter how fucking much i don’t understand why i might lie about the littlest things (fuck, my mum didn’t hear me brushing my teeth last night but i lied and told her i did (listen i know it’s gross but i was fucking exhausted for a lot of reasons ok lmao)) it kind of sucks to have that be the thing that every rip hater keeps spitting out like a broken record? yes, it’s wrong and yes, rip shouldn’t lie to his team, i’m pretty sure everyone agrees on that. but he’s also gotten a lot better and whenever he’s confronted about it, he comes clean straight away? so it’s not like he does it to be cruel and manipulative. it’s a habit he’s probably gained after spending his childhood starving and homeless and then being trained by a pretty ruthless organisation that discourages any emotional connections.

so um maybe stop replying with negative comments to posts made by rip fans that aren’t even in the sara tag for no reason at all lmao

‘stop hating on mick rory it’s not his fault!’ literally no one is fucking hating on him the entire fandom is so far up his ass that they can’t admit that while the team is sometimes rude to him (and this was especially exaggerated for the purposes of this ep), 1. he has also physically abused and threatened his teammates and called ray a moron multiple times; 2. the team shit on each other all the damn time. they’re friends who are assholes to one another; 3. a bunch of people being mean to u does not justify handing the spear of destiny to the legion and leaving not just the team but the whole world and thousands (millions? billions? depends how many they wanna hurt) of people at their mercy.

‘the legends are so abusive to mick they had it coming!’ did u watch the episode or nah? because i seem to remember snart being physically and emotionally abusive to him as well but hey! he’s a villain! we’re gonna woobify him and their relationship because they were partners!

‘the spear made him hear his parents he just wants the people he’s lost back!‘ literally just shut. the. fuck. up. y’all don’t think that sara wants laurel back? jax wants his dad? nate just watched his grandfather die. amaya just lost all her former teammates (+ lover) except for stargirl, and look how close she was to using the spear (for good) and she still managed to make the right choice. and rip of all people knows what it’s like to be driven by vengeance - he had the spear throughout the entirety of season 1 and he still managed to stop himself from using it to save miranda and jonas.
