“Your brother is adorable.” The cashier cooed at Danny, peering over the counter with a smile. “What’s his name?”

Danny looked down to the surly, scowling little de-aged Batman currently holding onto his hand, glaring up at the cashier with bright blue eyes.

Things had already been bad enough when he’d gotten caught in a fight in Gotham, but things went from bad to worse when a magician had hit Batman with a de-aging spell and then shoved them through a portal.

Into a different fucking dimension.

Because of course neither of their lives could be easy. And now the two of them were stuck in Iowa in the middle of nowhere, at a truck stop gas station, trying to go on a cross-country roadtrip to reach the nearest hero city and get home.

He looked up and smiled awkwardly, trying to come up with a name off the top of his head — one of the heroes called Batman ‘B’ when he got hit right? B for Batman, right. B… B… Bee… Bees.

“Buzz.” He said, and tried not to grimace as the cashier’s face warped with surprise. “Like the astronaut.”

This was gonna be a long trip.

like ronnies wuest is ALSO really really good but you basically get to say to her everything i wanted to say. about it not being her fault and about how much i love her and want her to be free and live her own life and not tie herself to a sinking ship forever. girl i love you sometimes your family is determined to wallow in the mud but YOU dont have to. but like you get to tell her that straight up. the combo of not getting to say everything i want to say + arcade LEAVING ME FOREVER. SOMETHING I DID NOT KNOW WOULD HAPPEN. just leaves me with this big aching arcade gannon shaped hole in my heart that will never be filled by anything else as long as i am on this earth. i get to go back to my apartment every night and go HONEY IM HOME and kiss veronica on the mouth. i wont see arcade again for months and months and months of in game time. and i miss him dearly.

DCxDP prompt 11 :

Danny becomes Gotham's City Spirit after being taken under Lady Gotham's wing, Danny becomes the city's second spirit, the shadow that always watches, the star that seemed to glow with hope in a crime ridden city such as Gotham.

Danny is living the Double Life as being protected heavily by Lady Gotham because why would she let anyone hurt her little baby, Danny is in college and this can be a ship for any of the bats but today I prefer Dead Tired.

Danny is East End's Cryptid Neighbor, No one really knows why he lives in east end despite having enough money to strive in the much wealthier parts of Gotham, he doesn't get in danger and sometimes it's almost as if the Darkness of the shadows wrap around his protectively like a mother cradling it's infant.

Danny becomes the street's handy man as he can fix almost anything on the spot without charge, he goes to college on a scholarship and the weather seems to become lighter and clearer around him, he has a very light presence that can make even the most violent of thugs soften up in care for the boy.

Tim and Danny happen to meet by coincidence in a coffee shop, they become friends and Red Robin stalksobserves him from afar and they happen to attend the same college and there Tim finds out tidbits of his past, parent's laboratory hazard, Sister somewhere away to college too but they got into a fight so they're not in contact right now, One older brother and one little sister.

Tim is noting all of and everything Danny tells him, like the smitten bastard he is. Danny is still a City Spirit, he knows who the bats are but he doesn't mind, as their relationship progresses Danny at some point is forced to intervene as a physical manifestation of Gotham's City Spirit of Resilience and Hope. Danny's and Tim's relationship becomes much like Ponyo's Mom and Dad type of relationship.

Danny is the Mom, Gorgeously Mesmerizing, a form so majestic and Astral and Tim his lover and he who cares deeply for him. The bats at first will be concerned but they can't stop them from loving each other and Lady Gotham unbeknownst to them, supports this whole thing.

Batcount: Stephanie, Dick

“Danny Fenton, parents declared him dead and claimed they buried him,” Dick said, spinning around in the batcomputer batchair. Anxious, unhappy, too much energy because there's nothing to fight here. “He has an older sister, I think she knows he's in Gotham and she's covering for him. She'll be coming to Gotham University next semester, despite having accepted a better offer from Harvard last year.” 

Steph let out a low, long whistle. “Whatever's going on at home must be bad,” she commented. “No other contacts?”

Dick pulled up a grainy class photo. “He's part of a small friend group, but neither of them have made any unusual moves. If Sam Manson or Tucker Foley get a plane ticket we'll know, but for now?” He shrugged, eyes distant. “Seems like he ran off alone. But probably for really good reasons.” He switched tabs back to the unhinged Fenton works website. He all but vibrated: wanna go, want to run, look, see.

Steph squinted for a few moments, reading. “...We’re going to go see what crimes against nature they're committing, aren't we?” She sounded resigned to it.

Dick shrugged. “It's not ideal,” he said unhappily. “The town is too small for how we normally do our night work. But face out is a big risk.” 

“Maybe we should lean on a friend?” Stephanie suggested. “Someone who has a public role that wouldn't be a problem?” 

“We’ll have to ask Mama Bat.” 

They both turned to look at Cass, who was sitting on a desk. She arched an eyebrow at them. “We ask Danny,” she said pointedly. “He knows best.” 

Stephanie made a face that said she disagreed. 

Cass huffed. “He knows,” she reiterated. He had lived there. He knew the people. “We could make a mess.” She mimed sweeping the stack of Bruce papers off the desk surface and then an expression of exaggerated batdad horror.

Stephanie untensed enough to laugh. 

Cass considered that good enough. She jumped down and patted Dick as she passed. He let out an exaggerated sigh but he powered down the computer and followed her up. “I'm excited to get to meet the little guy,” he said. The lights turned off. All three of them hit the stairs and jogged up. Dick chattered away, tweet tweet tweet. “It's so sweet that Dami latched onto him like this. When I asked what Danny would like as a welcome home gift, he told me that I was a cretin and should not corrupt the baby.” He laughed, high and joyous. It was contagious. Cass found herself laughing with him.

Stephanie squinted at the back of Dick's head as the oldest brother bounded up the stairs. “Damian… likes him?” She confirmed. 

Cass beamed. Of course he did. Danny was a good baby. He and Damian were out now walking dogs at the animal shelter while Alfie did the big weekly shop. 

Dick shrugged. “He gets to be the mentor,” he pointed out. “He’s not the Babiest Bat anymore.” 

“Danny is older than Damian,” Stephanie protested. Cass glared at her. 

“He's baby,” she said firmly. End of conversation.

Bruce has been chasing after Damian for years now, the once child now a young adult. He's missed 5 years of his son's life, due to a conversation where they both said the wrong words which resulted in Damian running away and somehow managing to evade all of them for so long.

He has to get to his son, before Talia sucks him right back up into the league.

They managed to track his location down to a nightclub, apparently, he was participating in a regularly held event that's been going on ever since 6 years ago.

So they went to the city the nightclub was in, disguised themselves in the crowd and was told to let each other know if they've found Damian.

He didn't expect to meet Talia and the same nightclub, but it made sense. If he was able to find Damian, then it makes sense for Talia to be able to do so as well, even after years hiding from the both of them.

He was keeping an eye on Talia, and she was keeping an eye on him as well, when the event started. The most popular-and only- DJ appeared and played music that had the civilians going wild, and then an entire stage sprang from the ground, multicolored lights coming to life.

This was an event in which multiple dancers had to compete against each other, for what was previously the chance to battle Wraith, the champion who also acted as the DJ, but that changed when Demon came around, overthrowing Wraith and yet, the two seemed to be evenly matched, taking the champion title from each other over the period of 5 years.

Now, who ever got far enough had the option to pick between the two, the Wraith or the Demon.

Danny, or otherwise known as Wraith, managed to find a place for himself after losing everything to the Nasty Burger explosion, with the help of Vlad to get him back on his feet, he managed to find a place for himself in a nightclub in another city.

It was in that same city, that he didn't expect to see his twin, Damian Al Ghul, by himself. He explained that he left his father, and was on the run from their mother, Damian didn't know what to do with himself anymore.

Which-as much as he wasn't on a cordial relationship with Damian- reminded him of himself after the explosion of Nasty Burger. So, he took him in at his pretty decent size apartment, fully prepared to do what was needed for his older brother until he got back on his feet.

Then Damian followed him to the nightclub one day, and then the next demanded that Danny teach him so that he could earn his keep.

And Danny did.

He didn't expect for Damian to progress so fast that he was able to dethrone him, though. But he gave credit where credit was due, and if Damian was hellbent on doing this for a living, then he had to wear a mask to hide his identity, from you know, some types of fans and the League as well.

He asked Vlad for another neon mask- he had one himself- and Vlad gave him one surprisingly easy, and then he gave that mask to Damian.

And that, was how Wraith and Demon became regular champions that dethroned each other, until the manager told them to stop because no one else would be able to display their skills and instead made them both champions.

Either pick one or get two.

Their lives fell into an endless motion of DJing, dancing to earn money, and then going back home to a messy apartment, eating and then passing out.

It was a perfect routine that neither of them whished to disturb.

Then Danny saw Talia, and Damian saw Bruce, and suddenly that peace was threatened. Neither of them wanted to go back now, not after establishing this little thing for themselves that they carved out with their own two hands.

But it would be okay, as long as their masks stay on they would go unnoticed, after all.

They wouldn't even think that their children were dancers, would they?

“I wouldn’t want to intrude, Danny.”

Summer break. A dreaded time of the year for you. 

It’s the one time where there is genuinely no excuse for you to not see your family, to not interact with the one person who made your brother who he was and broke who you were. 

Since you were little Max had always come first. From the endless trips around Europe to compete in the different Karting events, to the amount of time your father devoted to him, your brother had become number one since the moment your father could do so. 

Money wasn’t necessarily tight, but with your parents divorced and your mother struggling with the absence of her son, there definitely wasn’t a lot of free realm to roam as you pleased. 

You became devoted to school, devoted to distract yourself from the mess that your life progressively became. You had become obsessed with understating how racing had become the be-all end-all of your life. Education was the one thing no one batted an eye at when it became the one thing you spent your time on.

There were moments where you were allowed to go to races. If it was close to your home and the fees weren’t outrageous to the life you led, you could tag along. It came with stipulations though, your father always made it clear you were to never disturb Max from his pre-race shenanigans and that you were to watch but never interact, you weren’t allowed to talk any rival to Max much less befriend them. And for your younger self, these rules were absurd but not absurd enough to defy them.

As you grew older, and studying became more demanding, a gap formed between your brother and you. There was no more time to attend races, and so, when your brother joined F1 you had already finished engineering college. Connections were everything in the racing world, and you knew that the opportunity to be an engineer for Red Bull Racing wouldn’t have been so quick if your brother wasn’t connected with them. You couldn’t say you weren’t grateful in that moment of the path your brother had taken, because that opportunity would introduce you to the most important person in your life.

Daniel Ricciardo is sunshine personified. That was the one thing you knew about him before even meeting him. The day you met him was the day your life became brighter and funnier. Your job wasn’t necessarily boring, in fact it had become the one passion that was truly yours and no one criticised, but having Daniel be a constant part of it made the experience precious.

You think that’s how you got so involved with the Aussie, how you waited every day for him to smile at you and start a conversation. It made your day better when he gave you attention, even if it was just the littlest amount; it didn’t matter. Attention was attention, and you were getting it from the one person you wanted it from.

Watching the man you longed for become so close to your brother, someone who had become almost a stranger save for the name you shared, was heart-shattering. It made the reality of things stick out, the fact that there could be nothing between the two of you became more real. Not only was it inappropriate in a work sense, but now it felt wrong to go after a person your brother was friendly with. Even if you were older, even if you didn’t talk much with your brother, even then, you weren’t about to risk the repercussions your actions could have.

You saw how his career went on. Watched as he went to Renault, and by proxy, left you behind as he started a new chapter in his life. All the stolen glances you had shared became illicit, from the bond he shared with your brother to him being part of another team, there was no real way to connect with him without being suspicious. It wasn’t like you could go up to Max and ask him how he was doing. 

From time to time, Daniel would ask you how you were doing. He passed by you in the paddock and couldn’t help but smile and wave at you. The action made your insides tingle and have a light blush creep on your cheeks.

You knew it wasn’t weird to watch his Instagram stories, to like his posts, he followed you too and you knew he watched your posts too. But you hoped it wasn’t something preoccupying to watch him have fun on the summer break with his family, sharing barbecues on his farm back in Perth. It gave you a sense of longing that you learned to despise with each passing year.

This year was no different, except this year Daniel was back with Red Bull. 

You remember the exact moment the news broke that Daniel wouldn’t be a part of the 2023 season, and how devastating watching him announce the news in a video was. It made you feel for him, you knew it wasn’t a foreign situation in F1, it was more common than it should’ve been. Especially working in Red Bull, a team that was known for their cruelty with drivers. Hypocritical or not, having the one person who was always nice to everyone no matter what he treated in such a way, when everyone knew the results he was getting weren’t a show of his talent but rather the incompetence of a team, was undeserved.

This time, you were both older and had been through enough to understand your feelings. There was a shift in the dynamic you and Daniel shared. He was aware of the fact that you always held back from truly opening up to him because of your brother, because you cared too much about him and didn’t want to worsen your relationship with him. He didn’t know of the promises you made to your father when you were younger, but he knew you were holding back.

Maybe that’s why he went out of his way to talk to you. He approached you at any given moment he could, if he saw you sitting alone while working he would pause whatever he had going and sit next to you. At first you didn’t mention his increasing interest in you, but after a while you asked him if he needed anything from you; which he did, but not in the way you meant it. 

You suppose it wasn’t totally unexpected when stolen glances turned into stolen kisses. After knowing him for over 7 years your mouths slotting against one another didn’t feel as foreign as it should’ve, it felt right, like you should’ve been doing that all along.

If there was one thing Daniel Ricciardo tried to not be was an eavesdropper. He didn’t want to hear something he didn’t want to or intrude in a private conversation. But, hearing you talk was a melody he felt he should never be deprived of. So when he heard you talking to a fellow engineer, he just couldn’t help himself. 

“You’re not doing anything for summer break?” The engineer asked.

“Honestly, I’m probably gonna go home and read a couple of books alone.” By the tone of your words, he knew you were hiding your emotions in poor humour.

“Well, that’s one way to spend your summer.” 

You just chuckled, “I guess so, yeah. Maybe I’ll see my family, too.” 

“Don’t see them enough already?” Daniel knew the engineer was just poking fun at the fact that your family was actually very present in your day-to-day life.

“Probably more than enough, but nothing like being at home with your family, right?” Now the Aussie knew you were just lying to get out of an awkward conversation, there was no actual way you were being honest with your co-worker.

“Well, have fun!”

“You too!” 

The moment the engineer left, your shoulders sagged and the fake smile you were wearing went away.

“So, you're seeing your family during the summer break?” Daniel broke the silence you were in, waking into the room so naturally you would’ve thought he was always there to begin with.

“You’re eavesdropping now, Ricciardo?” 

“Wouldn’t call it eavesdropping if you’re in public,” You smiled at his words, something he could do so easily. Smiling was a no-brainer when Daniel was around.

“I think it’s still eavesdropping.” 

“Agree to disagree.” 

You felt like a high school girl talking to the guy she liked all over again. You hoped the blush that covered your cheeks wasn’t as noticeable as you thought it was, but by the way Daniel was looking at you, it definitely was.

“You’re going back to Perth for the summer break?” You deflect the question he asked, not ready to get into the mess that it is seeing your family.

“Yeah, gonna see my parents and take care of my little farm.” 

“From what I’ve heard it’s anything but little.”

“Oh, how would you know?” He is amused at the knowledge you have of his life, slightly honoured to have your attention in that way.

“Um, Max mentioned it. Like once. But it was so long ago, maybe you have another farm by now, and what I’m saying is totally wrong.” 

Daniel’s laugh is infectious, especially when it comes to you. He’s sure you could say a thing and he would be laughing. 

“My farm is a normal size. I don’t know how many farm’s Max has been to, but mine is nothing special.”

“I hope you have fun then.” You tell him, and you’re being sincere about it. But he knows you’re trying your best not to show how much you long for a calm summer break. He knows that what awaits you back home is nothing short of a wreck, filled with berating from your father and the awkwardness of spending time with people who never really took the time to understand you, while you’ve spend your whole life trying to understand them.

“Come with me.”

You stop picking up your stuff, almost dropping your phone in the process. You look up to him, you watch the vulnerability in his eyes.”

“What?”

“Come with me. Back to Perth.” He repeats, this time clarifying where he means, though there is no need for it because you know exactly what he meant with those three words.

“I can’t.”

“Why?” If there is something you know about Daniel is that he doesn’t back down without a fight, you know he would respect your choice of not going if he knew you really didn’t want to. But after years of knowing you, he is sure you do want to go with him. And you do. You’d go anywhere with him.

“I wouldn’t want to intrude, Danny.”

Those five words are probably the most absurd words he has heard you say since knowing you.

“You wouldn’t.” He watches you throw him a look, a look that tries to tell him he’s wrong, “I promise, Y/N, you wouldn’t be intruding. At all.”

“You’re gonna be with your family,” You say like that explains everything. But to Daniel, it doesn’t. “And I have to be with mine.”

There is a moment where he considers backing down, because yes, what you are saying is technically true. But his family knows so much about you just from pure hearsay, from all the times Daniel has gushed about how great of a person you are. He has the feeling they wouldn’t mind you being there and knows for certain you would fit right in with them.

“You’re my family too.”

“Daniel…” You trail off warily, like you’re scared of the implications his words have.

“You are. You’ve become family to me.” He steps forward and grasps your hands in his, “And I’m sorry that I never said it before, or that I never properly asked you because I was scared of what would happen. But you could be a part of my life, my family, if you want to.”

You’re rendered speechless at his words. It is too much just as it is enough. It is all you’ve wanted to hear for years from him, the confession that his actions are just in your head, that all those times he stared at you like you hung the moon after nights together, weren’t made up. It makes you want to wrap your arms around him and never let him go, so you do.

Hugging him feels perfect. Like there is no place you should ever be but in his arms. You discover something new from Daniel Ricciardo, and it is that he is your family. Slowly but surely he became essential to your life, and loved you like no one else had before.

If there was ever a family you wanted to be a part of, it was his.

Damian and Danny are brothers, but not twins (Danny is a year older). While Talia isn't a great mother she does love her children in her own way. So when Ra chose Damian to be the heir he had no need for Danny. Ra told Damian to kill him in a final test to become the heir. Damian hated his older brother and was always in competition with him so he didn't hesitate. Talia made it look like Damian killed him (even Damian thinks he did), but she whisked him away. She gave/hid him with the Fentons, she and Maddie had trained together.

-Danny knows Bruce Wayne/Batman is his father but sees no point of contacting him especially after Damian shows up on the scene (also him being a billionaire, they are all fruitloops with too much money and power). He never wants to be in the same room with Damian ever again. Besides he loves is new parents Jack and Maddie.

-Talia has become more of a cool aunt figure/then mother figure who sometimes swings through town leaving interesting gifts

-Jack and Maddie are good parents, and would do anything for their children. Especially anything to keep them safe. They even do a 180 after Danny reveals to be Phantom and drive the GIW out of town.

-It somehow gets out to the BatFam that Damian was not the only child of Talia and Bruce. They trace Danny to Amity Park and try to force a reconciliation. It does not go well.

-Jason knew about Danny, he helped Talia discreetly whisk Danny away to the Fentons. He gets why and supports Danny's position of not wanting to be near Damian.

-Danny refuses to see Damian and claims Jazz and Ellie are his only siblings. Even if Damian has changed, it's within his rights not wanting to be around someone who hurt him badly. While he may at some point forgive Damian for what he did, that does not mean he has to forget and from a relationship with him.

-Danny's family supports his decision. Jazz especially when one of the BatFam makes a remark that he is too young to make such a final decision. She goes off on all them and psychoanalysis them.

Hahaha I love this!

Damian can go two ways

A) he feels guilty and is desperately trying to make things better, getting increasingly desperate and trying anything and everything to get his forgiveness

B) he relapses in his progress and still hates Danny, him being a reminder of when he was under Ras's control, and fearing that Danny will attempt to replace him as the blood son, reminder that Danny dosen't want or care about being blood son falls on deaf ears

The batfam all have different reactions from completely siding with Danny about not wanting to have a relationship with them (Jason) to wanting a relationship but accepting that he might not want a relationship (dick) to complete denial about Danny not caring about them (Bruce)

Hi everyone!! So I’ve been hanging on to this story for awhile now, going back and forth about completing it/ sharing it. But after the new season of Bridgerton i have been fully thrusted back into my regency romance era and here we are!

I will be posting this one along side Barbarians (yes, two series at once), so both my Danny and Jake girlies will be getting fed over their next couple of months.

Day One

Tucker had memorized Jazz’s schedule, and headed right toward Ms. Alters classroom. He didn’t bother knocking, just opened the door to interrupt the AP Bio lesson. “Jazz, you need to take Danny home. He’s not feeling well.”  

She jumped to her feet, gathering her things as she moved. Ms. Alters protested half-heartedly, but Tucker tuned her out.   

“Keys in my locker.” Jazz turned left. Tucker followed.   

He scanned the hallway, wanting to tell her everything, but paranoia kept his mouth shut. Not like they had a code for this. Thankfully, Jazz was quick and her locker near an exit.  

“Is my brother really sick?” she asked as they marched down the stairs.  

“He’s-“ Tucker felt himself choke, and Jazz’s attention snaped to him, her had frozen on the door handle. 

“Tuck?” 

He shook his head and got in the car. They had no time. Jazz scrambled in after him and turned the engine. 

“Talk,” Jazz said and something in Tucker collapsed. When things got bad for Danny, Sam got emotional quick and Tucker had quickly learned to not. She panic and fretted, swore and made threats, 100% focused on Danny. So Tucker watched their backs, strung the needles, and offered quick solutions. 

But Jazz was older. Jazz knew how to deal. And zooming through Amity Park, plan already made and with nothing Tucker had to currently do, the tears he had been holding back for that past seven minutes fell. 

“He’s melting, Jazz.” He curled up in the passenger seat, head on his knees. “He felt weird in class and we pulled him out. But he kept having to force his heart and lungs to work, and then when he went ghost he threw them up.” 

The car accelerated, and he was pretty sure Jazz just ran a red light. 

“It reminded me of Dani,” Tucker sobbed. They’d been so close with her, but Danny was progressing faster. He just went from fine to not in seconds. Danny was actually dying. 

“I figured, grab ecto and bring it back. Stabilize him. We can take him to the Zone later.” 

“It’s a good idea, Tucker. You came up with a good plan.” 

He turned his head to look at her. Jazz’s face was drawn, but all her attention was on the road. She didn’t even flinch at the honks they were getting.  

“Once we get to the house, you head up to Danny’s room. He keeps a stash under his bed. I’ll check the lab for any extra incase its not enough. I’ll grab thermos too.” 

Right. Souping Danny up would put him in statis and make him easy to move. A ghost ambulance if they need it.  

The car took a corner too sharp, but Tucker didn’t care. He could see the Ops Center on top of Fenton Works. They were close. 

He straightened in his seat, rubbing away the tears.  

“Grab ecto from under Danny’s bed.” Saying the plan helped him. He knew what to do. He wouldn’t waste time. 

“Grab ecto and a thermos from the lab.” Jazz said her own part, eyes on the driveway. 

Tucker’s hand sat on the door handle, primed to open it. Jazz’s right hand sat on the gear shift, ready to put the car in park. 

As soon as Jazz pulled up behind the GAV, Tucker swung open the door and ran for the Fenton’s. By the time he got the door open, Jazz was on his heels and they rushed inside.

DCxDP Prompt 10 :

Death Defying Ship. Danny and Dick are childhood friends where the Fenton's would often bring Danny and Jazz to the circus to hang out with their old friends the Graysons, where Danny and Dick are very close and do dumb kid stuff but jazz is there to watch them so they won't get into too much trouble when the parents aren't looking.

In there Danny learns from the Graysons some basic Gymnastics and Dances that require two people and all that brings them all closer.

Dick and Danny lost touch after the tragic incident with the Graysons, Many years later the story progresses as usual. Danny moves to Gotham to pursue his pursuit in getting a Professional Engineering Recommendation to W.E. with a Bonus Dani that appears every so Often and Dan a normal Mechanic that's acting as his older brother.

Sam Manson happens to be once again forced to attend a gala but this Wayne Gala was Unique because of it's setting as a Masquerade Ball. Sam is thrilled as she can add spice to her gothic aesthetic clothing with a more gothic mask, Danny is being dragged along as because of BFF code, (if I get to suffer, you suffer too.) thus Danny is also wearing an almost as gothic clothing that matches Sam.

Dick and Danny meet there but ofcourse they don't recognize each other, a specific song plays and Dick ever so playful tries to dance a specific routine that only He and Danny knows as they both made it as kids with the help of Jazz. Dick is surprised that Danny is keeping up, Danny is ecstatic and pacing faster as both are in full rhythm and sync in movements.

They don't even realize it but they've become the center of attention as they danced right in the middle of the ballroom. The song comes to a halt and Danny and Dick are breathing heavily, both smiling in excitement until Sam grabs Danny in a headlock and drags him away, scolding him for ditching her for another man.

Dick tries to stop them but was immediately blocked by many who wanted to converse or get his attention as he loses sight of Danny in the crowd of people.

Danny and Dick only ever meet in a gala but something keeps pulling them away from each other, both unable to get each other's names, Dick is totally mesmerized by Danny just as much as Danny is too. Sam finally tells him at some point that he's Dick Grayson. Danny's memories of their past flooding in but Danny didn't want to tell Dick about that because what if dick doesn't remember? What if he asked Dick and he didn't remember him? So Danny kept quiet until he can finally give Dick his name but that moment never came.

Danny is forced to go back to Amity because of the GIW and their Plan to once again destroy the Ghost Zone and Declare War, Danny is captured by the GIW and Sam in desperation with Tucker finally found a way to bypass the GIW firewalls and Break through to connect to the JL.

In the process of saving the captures ghosts with the help of the Justice League in infiltrating and dismantling the Anti Ecto Laws for going against the Meta Protection Rights. Dick doesn't recognize Danny as Phantom, they save him and all that process through Frostbite's help.

Jazz immediately recognizes Dick even as Nightwing and calls him 'Robin' and Dick immediately recognizes her because she is the big sister he always had and wished he kept. Jazz doesn't blow his Identity as expected but she does tell him about Danny as Phantom and Dick as A Wayne once again is processing all of those information in the Manor, Jazz had reassured them that Danny would visit at some point once he is fully healed and Dick waits everyday, waiting for Danny to call or text him that he'll visit.

Dick realizes he's fallen deep in love with Danny with his desperation and also everytime they've met and interacted with each other even for brief moments in the galas they've attended. Danny become the sole reason he'll force himself to attend a gala as he wanted to see the man, his best friend and his first love.

Danny eventually visits Dick and from then you can tell the story goes that way, it's sweet fluff with angst and Dick and Danny gets their happy ending.

Edition; fanfic analysis

Warning of spoilers from both Arcane, Danny Phantom and the fanfics

The fics; My brother is a ghost/We're Phantoms by Darkfoxkit

Vs. Slight Arcane analysis/comparison (by Riot)

Warning of very long analysis (also I'm writing this sleep deprived 💖)

My brother/sister is a monster

Reading even further into Darkfoxkit's fics, specially We're Phantoms and having finished both seasons of Arcane I've come to notice both stories are about brothers/sisters drifting apart because of destiny and each one of them seeing a monster on their sibling more and more.

To summarize this will get to be divided in 3 main points:

1. Who is the protagonist?

2. My brother/sister has become a monster

3. Despite everything it's still them

1. Who is the protagonist?

For the fics My brother is a ghost and We're Phantoms is quite easy; it's the smallest/smartest /slightly unstable brother Andy since we see everything from his point of view directly, this affected the perception of the situations completely since we see this having all the time Andy's chain of thoughts that lead to his actions making us root for him and hope he succeeds in his goals, making him even have a quite heroic light even despite his mental struggles and some questionable decisions making us kinda see the other sibling Danny as a hero susceptible to corruption due his own power (despite both siblings show signs of easy corruption it's easier to dismiss with the one who is telling his point of view)...

Arcane; This series has several protagonists but I'm inclined to say the protagonist on the two sisters story is Violet the oldest/more impulsive/protecting sister since we see more vulnerable moments and thoughts about the situations going on, as well as Arcane paints her like a tragic hero and the problems around her more important no matter which side she's (If she's with Zaun, Zaun is treated like a victim city, if She's with Piltover it's treated as the city of progress looking for the well-being of everyone) making us again root for her and the city she's sided with making us see her little sister Jinx as a totally mad woman (if we're fair both sisters are capable of killing but Vi on purpose with brute force and Jinx by accident as collateral damage in her plans)...

And let's get this straight, the parallels between brothers/sisters is quite obvious to look at;

Violet and Danny are the oldest/more impulsive/protecting/ stubborn and good hearted siblings that try to look after everyone's safety, their weak spot is their smallest sibling making them even go so far to even do... Quite questionable changes in their goals and beliefs to keep those who they love safe and sound. If we could generally describe their theme it even matches, they are both what I like to call Sun themed character (based on the duality of sisters between Celestia and Luna in my little pony because that's the most clear example) they both have in some way a more clear/red color scheme, are such a softies for their loved ones, are a living nightmare in brute force against their enemies and are the generally more radiant, outgoing and brave hero type, their only flaw is they're quite easily corrupted if they have to choose between letting everyone burn or their loved ones, they will always choose their loved ones and if they don't, they will always deal with extreme guilt about it.

Jinx and Andrew, I find this to be the most interesting parallel as it's not quite evident due how immoral Jinx's actions are but to begin with they're both the smallest/smartest /slightly unstable/ insecure/ rational and empathetic sibling, they look up to be like their older siblings, they're their idols and heroes, having some troubles with their own self worth because of this, feeling lost without them by their side and having a road to go through to see their own self worth and finally see their siblings as just people and not all powerful beings. Following the themes, I call them Moon themed characters (following the same example with Luna and Celestia in my little pony) they both have a darker/blue color scheme reflecting both their more smart/sneaky/paranoid nature as well as it reflects their constant psychological torture affecting them due the circumstances they went through, living day by day only hopping this day will bring just a small ray of sunlight upon them (it never comes or comes in just very small drops to be taken away easily), constantly looking for approval from either their siblings or loved ones, their morals are stronger than their sibling bond, willing to fight to their last breath for those they protect and have shown kindness to them and the major good. (Also it's adequate to mention they both had gone through a certain moment where... They've seen their siblings as monsters).

Note: Jinx is in a environment of war where killing is something morally grey meanwhile Andrew is in a environment where that line is never meant to be crossed making both equal on morality but having different limits.

For Jinx crossing the line means when you exchange bands and for Andrew that line is killing someone, meaning both Danny and Vi have crossed the line meanwhile Jinx and Andy respect it

2. My brother/sister has become a monster

Jinx and Andy may both love their siblings but... When it comes to morality they are rooted to their beliefs; Andy (the balance keeps the world in order and something changing it must be bad) and Jinx (people from Piltover are monsters that want us death,they cannot be trusted), can we really blame them for not trusting their siblings when they exactly get to be what they fear?

Jinx: Enforcer Vi being one of those people who killed her parents willingly, meaning for her both of her worst nightmares; she's leaving her forever and she turned into one of those bloodthirsty enforcers that killed her parents, Silco would describe to her to be barely humans, so when she sees Vi working with Caitlyn in such a fragile moment of their first encounter after years (while also having Silco and others in her life saying all people from Piltover are evil) she began to see her sister as a traitor, confirming it on the bridge scene where she left her to die for Caitlyn and once more when she sees her using the full uniform of the enforcers as she uses the toxic gas of Zaun against her own people thinking of her sister as an horrible monster but still blames more Caitlyn for her sister's change (thinking of Vi as someone easy to manipulate, so making her think she can bring Vi back as her brave sister if Caitlyn is out of the picture).

Andy: Corrupted Danny a being smart, cold and powerful destroying the balance of the universe to make everyone into something different and not natural!, Andy becomes totally afraid of him since he's the manifestation of every nightmare he ever had (an all powerful being destroying his home with little to no sense of humanity willing to even kill for his goal). It doesn't help that Danny became sadistically playful with Andy when this happened making him even more afraid of him.

When the halfa era is over the real trauma began as Andy is proven several times Danny is willing to become this more aggressive and sadistic version of himself every time he's given the chance (Dark Dan who literally kills everyone on his path due his own pain and when he became slightly more powerful due consuming cores when he was trapped by the guys in white... Killing the agents and being willing to fight against Andy to eradicate from existence the organization)

They are terrified of the sibling they used to look upon to, their support and stability, so their sanity is barely hanging there as they desperately try to bring their siblings back, ironically when Andy does it he's a hero (because we're seeing it from his perspective) but when Jinx does it she's a mad woman who reached rock bottom, of course their methods are different but I still see they're both quite extreme...

Jinx: has constant hallucinations and panic attacks when feeling abandoned (Vi never noticed and never helped her with this), kidnaps her sister, her romantic interest (but also the enforcer who is "corrupting" Vi) and the father who lied to her to lose hope in the possibility of her sister being alive and put her sister and her between a same choice; do you love me enough to kill the monster and return to me?, Jinx unwillingly killed her own monster (Silco) when she heard he was about to shoot Vi but to her Vi chooses to be the monster she fears instead of her sister, so Jinx decided to completely dissociate from her by adopting her identity as Jinx instead of Powder and uses her weapon to destroy the council (what represents... Destroying the monster from the roots, maybe hoping Vi would get back to her if everything that represents Piltover is destroyed?). Yeah her acts are horrible but as the series goes on, she slowly comes to realize Piltover and it's people are just that... People who don't understand what they do is hurtful mainly thanks to having Isha in her life helping her to see how difficult it's to look after others and understanding Vi better as she's forced to participate even in a rebellion she didn't believe in to keep her safe (Still she holds a paralyzing fear to see Vi as an enforcer even making her cry when she actually sees her with the uniform for the first time).

Still she began to see Vi as just her sister looking for those she loves when she protected Isha and her from getting shot by Caitlyn when they fought, being the reason why Jinx finally gave her another chance when she found out Vander was alive and began to make it up to her after slowly realizing she did hurt her sister more (the moment she fully realized that she was hurting Vi and not just fighting a monster is when Isha sacrifices herself, finally having been in Vi's perspective looking how much it hurts to have a small sister destroying herself thinking she's doing the right thing), the guilt for making Isha like her and hurting Vi make her willing to take her own life and give Vi what she was looking for so long; her sisterly love and approval to finally be happy and stop worrying about her.

We could say Jinx gets to mature out of her fears and when Ekko talks to her she's finally able to see she can be happy and help those she hurt to be happy as well by walking away to heal and let them heal pretending her own death to do it.

Andy; With this boy, things are harder to see as "bad" since his brother and him have the strict rule of; not killing, so his actions can be even perceived as heroic but... How much of it is true?

When his brother becomes "corrupted" he's not quite totally not himself, on the opposite his actions are just him getting powerful enough to try to make the world a better place in his own terms, ironically wanting to give Andy what could make their brotherly bond to fix; to be one of the same kind once more (ironically We're Phantoms indeed proves Andy needed to be an halfa to fix their bond).

Andy fights with claws and nails to prevent it, fighting against his own family and friends to just reverse everything to normal and making his brother more and more centered into finding him to prevent him from hurting himself even further (Andy was described to be starving, with an injured arm and a blind eye) Danny was so worried about Andy he even forgot to look after the destabilizing people because his main focus was to stop Andy (ironically Andy made the halfa era worse than it needed to be), but since we're in Andy's POV we see the halfa era is some kind of apocalypse that needs to be stopped, to do it Andy is sacrificing everything and harming his own self so much he's willing to give up on his own life to prevent this, firmly thinking the world is falling apart and it's impossible for the ghost zone and earth to fuse and not end up destroying each other, we could be at Andy's side by thinking like this but...

In We're Phantoms it's actually proven the halfa era could be not harmful if Andy actually joined his brother to make the halfas stable, by getting to look at an alternative dimension where Andy and Danny work together in the halfa era instead of fighting each other, they successfully turned the world into an utopia with no hunger, no war and total peace (still is kinda wrong due the mild mind control of the people), even their relationship as twins seems to be better, they're playful, still call each other "bro", they still have their own personality and they don't seem to be in " control " of each other and most important they're not traumatized of each other!, yeah their games are quite... Cruel but in the end they are not harming or killing anyone.

But Andy in his main world can't help but think Danny was a monster in said halfa era, being in complete denial of the possibility Danny was still himself in the halfa era since he could not think the person he looks up to has the potential to be this monster, so he avoids the subject like the plague until the elephant in the room is hard to ignore as Andy repressed his feelings and they start to manifest as violent nightmares, visual and auditive hallucinations and panic attacks.

Ironically we could say Danny was the mature one in this situation and looking how much Andy was struggling mentally, he decided to talk about it with him (ironically making it worse since Andy's comfort about the situation was to think another entity was controlling Danny when he did all of those things, realizing his brother was capable of such things, breaks Andy apart)

Their bond is constantly stitched but never fixed as more and more situations prove Andy his brother is capable of turning into a unredeemable monster (even despite the shadow dimension probing him that yeah Danny is capable of horrible things but it's just because of the fact he's not perfect and he's a normal teenager with too much power to handle and that is perfectly normal for him to screw up).

Andy feels like he's the responsible one, he should be preventing Danny from going through that path (not realizing he's a teenager too and has the same potential of corruption as his brother due holding the same power), because it's a still ongoing series I can't judge how it ends but it's giving the vibes of Andy finishing to grow out of his fears (he's currently working on it) and being able to be the hero he's meant to be.

Vi; As Arcane is seen mostly from her perspective we can see she's not on anyone's side, She's barely trying to survive and have a happy life, she doesn't believe in a cause, she just wants her loved ones to be with her but not knowing she's hurting everyone by not choosing a side (I think this happened due unprocessed trauma after being several years in jail, she doesn't want to lose anyone and doesn't want anyone to change even when it's inevitable, she doesn't even notice she changed from a Brave leader to a skittish and codependent person with anger issues) but from her perspective Powder her baby sister should be still the same when she came back (an insecure but loving girl Vi wanted so much to be like this so she could feel like a leader again) she was disappointed and even quite fearful of Powder as Jinx because she doesn't need her like Powder did, she knows how to defend herself, her inventions actually work and she isn't willing to throw away all the progress to go back to her as a defenseless child making Vi see her as a menace and a monster, she doesn't quite care about the people she killed, she cares those people were important for Caitlyn.

With the Bigger siblings however...

3. Despite everything it's still them

Vi sees in Caitlyn what she wanted in Powder; a naive yet smart girl that needs Vi to survive in Zaun (and I even find it quite disturbing Caitlyn resembles Vi's mother and since Powder looks like her mother... Caitlyn fisically resembles Jinx/Powder showing what Vi is searching in her) but tries to fool herself into thinking she only wants the well-being of everyone.

Caitlyn's mom death made Caitlyn become mature and stop seeing the world as a place where everyone could live in peace, she becomes determined to erase the monster (Jinx) and safeguard Piltover, Vi sided with her afraid of losing her but once more when she had to choose a side, she disappointed Caitlyn pulling Caitlyn out of the fantasy of a strong loyal woman Vi created.

Vi herself is in worst conditions mentally than Jinx, willing to punish herself fisically to stop emotional pain (The pit fighter phase), she feels she has nothing if she doesn't have someone to protect, when Jinx came to her, she not only tried to save Vander but saved Vi as well, for the most part... Because...

Sadly Vi never learned her lesson and in the end Jinx was the one mature enough to walk away from the circle of violence and made Vi to stay with Caitlyn, having to pretend to be dead to help Vi to choose her happiness and let go of the past. In the end Vi finally saw Jinx as a person because of the good actions she did in the end but for herself... She's still a enforcer, she's still the monster of Jinx's nightmares but Jinx was mature enough to see her sister is not a hero... Just a wounded person like her.

Danny: In the Danny phantom phandom it's interesting to see everyone has different perceptions of the character, but for this fanfics the perception is quite close to the canon and... That makes this version of Danny actually... Scary but at the same time if you read deeper it's one of the saddest versions of him, since... Yeah, he has the potential to be evil and when he becomes powerful or corrupted enough is exactly what he does..., like a previous analysis I did on the Control freaks and The ultimate enemy episodes Danny is a teenager with some dark thoughts and fantasies that he would love to unleash but what keeps him in control is just... Guilt

Sam as his love interest has kept him on a leash since he got his powers, but whenever he's given an "excuse" to be as violent as he wants, he takes it with excitement:

-When he was controlled by Freakshow it's said Freakshow just wanted him to look bad to people (why everyone was robbing using invisibility but him would just pose at the cameras and shooting at the police), but he never put the slightest resistance and even seems to be enjoying it as he smiles all the time meanwhile the other ghost have a eternal frown of disgust at being controlled.

-As corrupted Danny he's totally sure he's doing the right thing to help everyone, not seeing he's just using everyone he turns into "halfas" as puppets, he's so focused on "the greater good" he became a dictator without realizing it.

-When he became Dan, it's confirmed in both the fanfic and the original series Dark Dan is more Danny than Vlad!, meaning he decided to unleash his power against anyone near since he feels no one is there to hold him back (Andy became too distant to be someone he worries about to hear his opinion, knowing he would see him as a monster either way).

-When he was trapped by the Guys in White he truly believed he was in the right to end the lives of the agents because they hurt his family and friends.

The halfa era was the beginning of the end for them as brothers, yeah they were drifting apart because Danny didn't told Andy about his ghost powers but Andy didn't care about the new species, he loved Danny no matter what, now beginning to see him as an all powerful and pure hearted hero until... His acts on the halfa era... Showing his most controlling and cruel side ironically beginning all of this because Danny didn't believe his brother could love him as something not human, as a ghost... Something his parents always told him that they were monsters...

So in that chain of thoughts, he believed if only Andy could become like him, their twin's bond could repair completely since he would understand him better, even have the same fears and worries (quite selfish way to think but again he's not the most brilliant teenager), he genuinely thought Andy would agree and be by his side but his world crumbled into pieces as Andy showed he was so afraid of this drastic changes, he was even afraid of Danny himself...

The whole halfa era he was more focused on trying to make Andy see he's not a monster and turn him into an halfa, his original plan was crumbling down into pieces as the whole dimension was destabilizing (ironically proving Andy right about him).

When it was over, Danny was powerful enough to remember everything and this makes it hurt even more when his own twin was having PTSD because of him, he feels guilty, guilty and devastated because no matter what he does, Andy is still afraid of him and as a joke of destiny, every time Andy is beginning to forget and warm up around Danny, an evil version of himself rises or he becomes said version by illusions of other villains.

Danny's hating more and more that version of him knowing his brother is gradually becoming too afraid of him becoming like that, every time he does something bad, he punishes himself mentally to hold himself back more and more just to not scare Andy.

It goes so far that when his wish came true and Andy became an halfa, he couldn't enjoy it as Andy was thinking of himself as a monster, making Danny more guilty.

I think one of his most important breaking points was when Danny fought to escape from the guys in white, only to be greeted by Andy calling him corrupted, he finally snapped and yelled at him to not compare him to that version of him, for the first time showing how much it hurts for him too, unfortunately this was dismissed by Andy as just the corruption yelling at him.

Danny's guilt and sadness is so heavy he even writes in Andy's journal about it, hoping Andy would understand (another destiny joke; Andy didn't read it).

It's quite sad to look Danny's feelings dismissed so much as he tries his best for his loved ones but Andy still has a point... Danny is dangerous and unpredictable despite his heart being in the right place and I find his future uncertain, in the best scenario; their twin's bond is fixed as time goes by, the worst case scenario; Andy becoming the perfect hero by destroying his "evil" twin.

I prefer to write x reader smut in a way that would be applicable to anyone by trying not to use language that is specific to one gender/biological sex/sexuality for the reader. ❀ Series PSA ❀

When I have an organized series that has a definite, clear end (any series not counting Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy as that is more a collection of many different works/pov's in that uni), I choose to wait to post chapters until I have completely finished the entire series. This takes the stress off of me for writing chapters with time constraints, prevents series from going unfinished (which ik can be frustrating as a reader), and allows me to stick to a solid posting schedule (Mon/Thurs at noon PST). As such, like I said, all series that are in progress will have an ending and will be posted regularly.

Out of Time Chapter One Hundred and Nineteen

Maggie is not impressed. Yes, she adores Alex but, he isn’t taking her mama away. He does things other then cry and poop.

 

“He will grow to do other things. He is just a baby now.” Charlie tells her.

 

“Alex baby.” Her little hands are fisted on her waist and her lip sticks out.

 

“True  but Alex is an older baby. Daniel, your brother, is a tiny new baby.” 

 

“Don’t want brother. Charlie take.” She smiles and shakes her head.

 

“Daniel Brian is not my baby. He is your Mama’s and Danny’s. And yours and Ian’s .” She frowns, her eyes narrowing. *Yeah, he is yours too Maggie, your brother to see to just like you are Ian’s.”

 

“My baby?”

 

“Yes your baby.”

 

This helps some. She still isn’t happy but stops giving the newborn angry looks all the time.

 

As frustrating as her Sibling rivalry is, it is also welcome. It shows she is becoming a normal little girl.  They are pleased with all the children’s progress.

 

Charlie is opening up more and more. Jenny is also talking with her. After the look she caught her given when Claire announced her pregnancy, she decided that Jamie wasn’t going to be the only one counseling her.

 

Alex is able to get from place to place. He moves in a type of lobster crawl, pushing off with his one foot and catching himself with his arms.  He has stopped screaming out in physic and physical pain.

 

Ian, William, and Fergus are active and healthy. They are mostly obedient though they are also reacting more like regular children.  They balk at some of their schoolwork. William doesn’t like gardening, Fergus balks at laundry, while Ian loathes changing diapers.  As with Maggie, all are happy to see them acting like normal boys.

 

Juliaellen is on the verge of walking. Jamie loves walking her around, her tiny fingers in his. Claire, having a hard time in early pregnancy, is quite happy to let him. She is a happy little girl who adores her parents and her aunties, uncles and cousins. Her favorite playmate is Alex.

 

In the middle of the chaos, Mary is about to add another.

 

Murtagh is walking with her. They are better mates then Jenny and Danny are, though the later couple is getting closer. He senses that she is getting close. They walk on the roof, amidst the growing flowers.

 

It is the way she stops, her stillness. Even Alex, in a carrier on Murtagh’s chest, seems aware.

 

“Mama?”

 

“Mary?”

 

“Ah, oh!” she breaths in and out in a way that is familiar to any parent, midwife, or OB/ GYN. “That was a contraction.”

 

“Okay, okay, let’s get you back downstairs and get…” He stops when she gets still again. Her face showing she is having another. Bloody hell! He looks around but they are alone. He looks down at Alex. No help there. What is he to do? Looking up to heaven, he says a quick prayer.

 

“Mur… oh help!” He moves, slipping Alex off his chest and sitting him down.

 

“Stay right there, little man.” His tone gets the little lads attention. He lowers himself down, ignoring the cracking of his knees. “Mary, talk to me.” She can’t answer. The pains are coming so close that she can’t find a break between them.

 

Her fingers claw at her pants and he gets it, helping them off. What he sees stuns him. A head. The child is crowning. Everything stills. He works on instinct and a hand from God, as he places his hand on it, easing the baby out. She grunts and pushes while her wide eyes son watches as his sibling is born.

 

Murtagh is soon holding his daughter. She makes soft meowing sounds before letting out a scream that has Alex covering his ears. Murtagh doesn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

 

“Mary, we have a daughter. She is brawl as you can hear. I need to get help. Will you be alright?” She lowers herself to the roof and Alex moves over and presses himself against her. He hands her the baby.

 

“We will be fine. Will you?” he looks awful pale.

 

“I believe so.” Them a huge grin, “We have a lass. A beautiful little lass!”

 

She looks down at her. Like all newly born babies, she is covered with guck and it is hard to see what she really looks like. But, like all new parents, they both see her beauty.  “She sure is!”

 

Jamie and Heather hurry up. Heather sees to Alex, who is shocked but seems otherwise alright.  She hands him to Murtagh and helps Jamie with the new mama and child. The newborn is officially pronounced bawl. “She is very healthy.” Jamie tells her parents. “Her quick delivery didn’t cause any problems.”

 

Mary is placed in bed with her children tucked in with her. Jamie exams Murtagh. He wants to make sure that his adrenalin fueled delivery of his daughter hasn’t  caused any issues. He finds the papa as bawl as the daughter.

 

After the baby has her first meal, the rest of her community comes in to be introduced.

 

“May Mary and I present our daughter, Naomi Maria.”

Progression of the Masters siblings in my next gen Danny Phantom AU....

Original/prototype: they're at each other's throat, Danny Masters is practically an actual homicidal supervillain while Raziel is the angelic younger sibling only doing good things

Update: Danny Masters is physically unstable bc of the imperfections in his cloning process and has wild mood swings and Raziel is just putting up with him while still being the innocent one

Current: the Masters siblings fought a lot when they were much younger and puberty was REALLY hard for them on account of their powers being established way earlier; Danny was actually cloned at an older age physically meaning he seemed less emotionally stable for a while but now that they're both adults they've mellowed out and finally managed a more normal sibling relationship in which neither is perfectly innocent or guilty

Also Damienne whose last name keeps changing...

My head went "how do they reconcile Jazz's daughter being engaged to a clone of Jazz's brother?"

The answer: Their relationship is wholly non-sexual, Damienne is asexual, and also Raziel has given her full disclosure to his status as a clone from the moment they got serious so none of this is a surprise to her. With all the information, they discussed it amongst themselves and decided to stay together. (But Damienne would never expect everyone else to consider this exactly the way they did)
