I found an old Reddit post with most of the shared dialogue between characters in Pathologic 2 and I’ve been thinking about it a lot. (link) I’m just gonna put several of my thoughts in one post.

Lara, Eva, Victor, and Katerina all have a line of dialogue that’s some variation on “A hundred years? No, no, too much. Forty? Not nearly enough.” I have no clue what they’re counting years for, but it’s interesting that they all share it. Aglaya, on the other hand, has a line of dialogue that goes, “Twenty-one. Thirty-four. Fifty-five… enough.” So it seems like whatever the others are trying to figure out, she’s got it covered. Phew. (Honestly this one stumps me but I feel like there’s a significance to it)

Another one (which I discovered in game, hence why I found the pose) is that Notkin and Grief share that little limerick that goes, “There once was a man of great humour, who found he was dead of a tumour. But he woke up today, to his neighbour's dismay, and that of his cow once he took her!” This one just makes me realize that Notkin is essentially a younger Grief, and I like the idea of him becoming the leader of Grief’s gang after he gets too old to be a Soul n a Half. It’s even better because I first heard Notkin say it in the Diurnal Ending, which just reinforces the idea that his future looks like Grief. Also makes me consider who the other termites might parallel, which leads into my next point...

Khan and Andrey share the line “when the cat’s away, the mice will play.” I honestly wouldn’t have thought of this parallel, but it makes sense! Both of them have a connection to the Polyhedron, Andrey is a boyfriend rival to Grief, just like Khan is to Notkin, both have a romantic relationship with a future mistress. It’s pretty obvious that the Dogheads and the Soul n a Halves’ respective philosophies mirror the tension between the different philosophies of the adults. Each of their leaders gets a parallel to a member of the faction their gang is most like. (Utopians for Khan, Humbles for Notkin) I could make a whole separate post about this point cuz it’s fascinated me since I noticed it, but let’s move on.

Capella and Maria share quite a few lines, which makes sense, it’s an obvious parallel. But they also share the line “souls of a feather, flock together” with none other than Grace. Maybe because she’s also a future mistress (in Nocturnal, at least)? I’m not sure, since neither Taya nor Clara have this line, but it’s interesting nonetheless.

Big Vlad’s line of dialogue that goes, “Heads or tails? Tails. Always tails” seems to be in direct contrast with Taya’s line, “Heads or tails? Heads. Heads, heads, always heads!” The most obvious connection between these two is the Termitary and the Kin. These two characters are both rulers over the Kin, but, as the line would imply, have entirely opposite perspectives on them; Taya seeks to help them however she can, where Vlad seeks to exploit them. Vlad is the Kin’s past, and Taya is their future.

So, English-Speaking Danmei Fandom... (Part 2!)

...you saw my post yesterday and you’re like, “okay, I made a JJWXC account and now I know how much the thing I want to support costs, how do I do the actual money thing?”

Here, I’m figuring it out right now, let’s do it together. I AM STILL RELYING ON THE GUIDE BY SHOKO TRANSLATES. YOU SHOULD USE IT TOO. I have only the most basic idea wtf I’m talking about, and I only have that much because of this guide. That said, it seems to focus more on mobile, and I’m using desktop, so if you’re also on desktop my thing here might help you?

One, go to the payments page. Fortunately, they’ve made it pretty easy to find...

...by making it the one on that list that’s in RED. Handy, right? No, I don’t know what it actually says. Again, I don’t speak a lick of Chinese. I have some Japanese so sometimes I recognize characters but that doesn’t get me far, ha.

Once you click that (you have to be logged in, of course!) it’ll open up a new screen, with a list of payment options on the right. As far as I can tell, this is what the choices are:

I’m gonna take a stab at international credit card, since that’s...the only one of these I have??? I tried to figure out what the “shenzhouxing” prepaid card is but basically got no where.The Shoko Translates guide does NOT have instructions on this part, at least not for desktop? And the pages look pretty differently on desktop. Anyway. Here goes nothing...I’m mostly relying on C&P and Google translate. *sweatdrop*

So, there are two tabs, but I can’t C&P them and I have no idea what they say. However, the one on the right doesn’t have any boxes for entering stuff?? So I’m gonna stick with the left...OH. It’s a page for doing security questions. Oh god, um.

Alright. So. Put your password in the top box. For the security questions, what they say is basically irrelevant, except it’s worth noting that the default option is apparently not a question - it’s just “select one.” If, like me, you don’t know Chinese...just pick whichever questions, and put in answers you’ll remember. It doesn’t give a damn if your answers are correlated (though, the first one on the list has something to do with dad, and the second on the list has something to do with mom, I recognize those characters, ha. It doesn’t let you pick the same questions twice...and there are two near the bottom that I THINK might be “father’s birthday” and “mother’s birthday.” And one about elementary school. Sorry, I’m distractable. The point is, the questions don’t matter as long as they accept your answers! Yes, it accepts English ones, and no it doesn’t have anyway of knowing if your answers correlate to the questions at all. TAKE A SCREENCAP OF YOUR CHOSEN QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS AND SAVE IT BECAUSE YOU’LL NEED THEM AGAIN!!! Do your pattern match thingy, then click the green button, and there’s another page which looks like it’s asking me to re-enter the same answers.

Click the green button on that second page, and there’s a new page with a single line of Chinese text:

“恭喜你，密保设置成功，点击此处跳转到用户基本信息页面”

which, according to google translate, is

“Congratulations, the secret security setting is successful, click here to jump to the user basic information page.”

Guess I’ll click the thing.

ALRIGHT. So, after doing all that, it takes me back to a home page? Awesome. Whatever. As long as it worked. Click on that red one in the navigation bar again, and NOW when you go to the “international credit card payment” one...

AHA THIS IS VERY PROMISING, lol. So, based on Shoko Translate’s guide, that place drop down menu with “17″ written says “USD” after it, and that it’ll get me 10,000 points. It looks like it processes payments through Paypal; based on my experience with Paypal, that means you may not need an actual Paypal account? But I’m honestly not sure, and I’ve had a Paypal account for 20 years, so I’m just gonna, ya know, use that.

A little window pops up that I’m assuming (blind guessing) is a “this will take you to another page/open a new window, is that a thing you want?” and I clicked the option on the right, and yep, it opened my Paypal. I’ve got a card on file, so...I’m just doing that. (I’d...better make sure I actually have $17 in my account... *another sweat drop*...okay yes I have like $80, wooo...oh, crap, I accidentally paid from my business account, sigh...well, there was def money in there but I’d better pay myself back...ANYWAY.)

It says something in big bold letters and I have absolutely no idea what! But then it loads, and it’s all the Chinese that I now recognize as my personal account page, and when I scroll to the bottom and...

...well I have no idea what any of that says but it sure as hell LOOKS like victory. Now to see if I can actually, ya know, buy a thing! I can’t afford to get everything I’d like to at once - I’m pretty broke - so I’m going to start with Tian Guan Ci Fu. It’s my favorite danmei novel, and one of my favorite books of all time, AND it’s by MXTX so even though I can’t buy MDZS on here, I can still support her. 6. ...uh...shit...now I have to figure out which of these buttons actually does the thing...um...oh thank God, it’s in the Shoko Translates Guide. So, there are five buttons right below the line saying how many points I have. The first is “confirm purchase” so, ya know, just ignore the other ones and click it.

7. A dialog box popped up! It says how many I spent and how many I have left and a bunch of Chinese and two mystery buttons...thank God, again, for Shoko translates, apparently they’re “read now” on the left and “read later” on the right. I’m gonna “read now” just to see if it worked...

8. Well...it sure looks like a book??? I have the PDF translations (a copy from before it was removed, and no, I won’t share it), and, um...okay, so the first unlocked chapter is 21...oh hey, I see San Lang (三郎)! That’s, like, the only thing on this whole page I can read! lmao. Anyway, comparing, like, pagination, and the placement of the exactly one thing I can read, YES, this definitely worked!

buckle up folks this is gonna be long bc min. character limit uni papers thought me a lot of things but def not how to be concise 

01. planning

this was a long time ago but i do remember wanting to make something with overlays bc quite honestly i started working on this way too late and it seemed the fastest lmao. jokes on me i had 2 failed attempts and this also went through some changes along the way. initially i wanted to combine dye, bol and present:you... them being my fave eras for this lovable dumb man. so it would’ve been one pair for each gif.

02. creating

picking footage

so onto creating,, first things first the concept had to be changed bc present:you only had light shots so that had to be removed rip, here you can see a failed attempt at me trying to include it. this was before i started making proof on concepts for gifsets which later on saved me so much time... but not this time

once i accepted defeat i had to reshuffle the shots and add some new ones but it was all good i was not losing braincells at all. so onto the real gifs, gonna show you the red one bc that’s my fave of the three. 

making the base

btw i’m always working with timelines and smart objects bc it feels way easier than frames. so here we started with this jaebeom, and since the background and his hair it’s pretty dark those will be the parts which will be covered with the next gif. i made it black and white and also adjusted the levels a bit to make it a bit softer (lowered the whites and lightened the blacks)

for aesthetic purposes i always go for one close shot and one wider shot, then literally all i did was add the other gif on top, and set it to lighten. okay this is it that’s the whole process bye. oh we need the rest too? okay okay. so btw for a while i was considering making both of them coloured but then bw looked better when having all three gifs under each other, felt more like a ‘set’

now for this gif in particular i did not need to mask anything, shocking, but for the others i had to either blend the edges or make the bottom layer darker at some places to let the top layer show up a bit more e.g. for the second gif i needed a tiny blending like so (it’s the layer 1 copy 3 lmao)

making the overlay bits

then we are basically done with the main part of the gifs, obviously i applied colouring to each inside the smart object. but i always like to add something extra on top which are usually two things: 1.) full overlay gif something blurred (literally any kind of footage.. i used leaves, water, space renders etc. so far), or a light leak, oooor a bokeh effect whatever and just keep it subtle. and 2.) some smaller moving bits which are usually sparkles, dust, stars, galaxy stuff etc. u get the idea. for the above gif this happens to be Layer 1 copy 2 rip. also in this case this overlay is actually this jaebeom footage blurred and with some colouring added on top of it to have this redish brassy tone (not me forgetting about this completely lmao) obviously it’s zoomed in and i’m using the top left part of the video blurred. look at me explaining my chosen gif with another gifs gahd i’m bad at this. anyways it just goes to show i use practially anything i can think of and just blur it. 

for the full overlay footage i either go black and white and set it to overlay or soft light, whatever works best, or go coloured and set it to lighten again.... whatever blending mode works best. for this specific 2nd gif i went with lighten. for the smaller moving bits same tbh i just adjust the levels/curves to only show the bits i need when it’s set to lighten, i.e. i make its background more black so it won’t make the gif hazy. 

 adding the text

so anyways i add those on top so it’s not boring anymore,, practically just concealing the fact that all i‘ve really done was adding a gif on top of another and set it to lighten rip. oh yeah we have the text layers, nothing fancy here: for the script i used Challenge and the serif is FogtwoNo5. For the script i sampled some red from the background and just set it to overlay, and for the serif i just went with full caps adding some extra kerning bc one: for full caps you always need that, not this much lol, and two: it just looks better okay. 

last touches

then i added a levels adjustment layer because i felt the gifs were a bit brighter than i wanted, so we ended up with this

oh my gahd we are almost theeeere, for saving gifs here are my settings, i did not have to tell photoshop which colours to use luckily so it was an easy process.

03. posting

eeehmmm posting... yeah nothing exciting? i just save it in my drafts check it on mobile, and if something is really messed up i’ll change some colouring and saving settings, but this was a fairly ‘easy’ gif for tumblr to compress decently so none of that.

LMAO! well fun fact: wattpad deleted my account because of “explicit sexual content” ☠️ despite me following the rules and marking them as “mature” because of explicit sexual content, and also despite literally everything else on the site being explicit sexual content (and 90% of it being STOLEN explicit sexual content). apparently, wattpad thinks it’s fine for 12 year olds to repost my work, but it’s not okay for me to post my own work in an effort to stop those 12 year olds from reposting it. i’ve emailed support and followed up twice, and i literally just got a reply an hour ago (after 1 month of radio silence) that basically just threw their bullshit guidelines back at me and didn’t acknowledge me pointing out the hypocrisy in their guidelines, and the hypocrisy in the fact that there are explicit fics that were posted years ago that they didn’t take down, plagiarized content that they didn’t take down...but they wanted to touch mine 🤔

for people who are not aware, these are technically wattpad’s guidelines and things they have the right to remove:

fair and reasonable--it’s your website. no smut, got it! BUT THEN. wattpad also says this:

“you’re not allowed to include explicit sex scenes, but if you do, make sure to mark it mature”. like???? WHAT lmao. can someone tell me what the point of an explicit sex scene would be if it wasn’t for sexual stimulation??

i very politely pointed out this discrepancy and asked them to please clarify where the line is, because all of the fics i had uploaded had full-blown plots with smaller sex scenes in them (with the exception of good girl. that one was pwp, i’ll give them that), but there are plenty of fics other people have uploaded that are straight up porn...and they’re still on their website. and not even good porn at that 😂😂😂😂😂 but alas, i still just got pointed to those same dumb pages and told that my account is permanently deleted so 🤷🏽‍♀️i’m guessing they don’t like people pointing out holes in their logic smh

honestly, i’m mostly just annoyed that i even bothered with that garbage site to begin with, because i’ve hated it from the jump. i do find it interesting that i haven’t seen anyone else who crossposts their smutfics there get their accounts taken down, but whatevs. no worries at all, because i just set up another account that is solely for monitoring plagiarism, and wattpad won’t have to worry about me trying to put decent content onto their website ever again 😂

I Don’t Believe in Destiny | Geralt x OC

Sooo I know Canon x OC fics aren’t as huge of hits as Canon x reader buuuut I thought I might post it here since it is a fic I am writing and some peeps here might enjoy it since it is sorta not trash AND it’s Geralt. ANYWAYS

It was supposed to be a day like any other. She walked this way from Yspaden weekly, sometimes every day if her lack of supply called for it, and she had been when this thing had attacked her. It had all been so sudden she didn't have a chance to do anything, even move. It had her pinned to the ground, having come down from a nearby tree. Her supplies were ruined, discarded, and she was so surprised by the creature currently pinning her down and gnashing at her with large pincers that she didn't even notice she'd been injured. Hands struggled to hold back the pincers as four spider-leg legs held her down. She tried to move whilst holding the creature back but it failed.

  The sound of a single, well-placed slash and the creature stopped struggling against her before splitting perfectly in half. Hazel-brown eyes watch as black blood spills from where it's separated, falling onto her form like rain, staining her dress, neck, face and some of her hair. She can't bring herself to move, instead, she just lays there, hands still up though holding nothing.

  She's in shock, covered in the creature's blood from head to toe, and she doesn't know how long she lays there with pupils blown wide and mouth ajar before her savior turns towards her, eyes pitch black and sheaths his sword over his left shoulder. She's taken aback for a moment by his appearance: the gray hair covered in a thick layer of the beast's blood, the black of his eyes and the veins around them flooding the same color, a remarkably handsome face and strong, broad shoulders.

  He tilts his head at her, either out of curiosity or confusion and trudged over to her, grasping the body of the beast and tossing it aside with the same ease he'd cut it down with as pitch-black retreats, giving way to beautiful amber eyes. He was dressed in a fine pair of black armor, though it was light. It wouldn't protect from anything; it seemed more for show than protection. As he began to cross the space between them, she realized he was moving towards her and in her shock, started to scramble backward though she must've looked just as much like prey to him as the deceased beast beside her. He grasped her perhaps a bit too roughly by the wrist and forced her to stop her scrambling. For a moment, they just stared at each other. His grip unrelenting on her wrist, his fierce amber eyes curiously peering down into her hazel-brown ones. Then his mouth opens, revealing a hint of pearl-white teeth and sharp canines and he spoke softly, a bit more gruffly than intended.

  “Are you alright?”

  The question stuns her, but she supposes that in the situation it made sense. Having just rescued her, it was only sensible to ask if she was okay, but she still hadn't expected such a thing. His hand adjusts on her wrist, rotating to grasp the underside of her wrist. Then, with the same strength he'd tossed the beast aside, he pulls her up, nearly bringing her into his broad chest. It takes her another moment to gather herself, pushing short cherry red hair back from her face as she stumbles once more. He tightens his grip on her wrist again, giving it a soft tug to balance her.

  “I...”

  She started to say, pausing to look over at the beast's carcass beside her. It was cut in half, black blood splattered across the greenery like a stain that might never go away, and she felt her throat filling with bile. She turned from him, her wrist freed in the process and threw up. She heard a small chuckle from behind her and raised her eyebrow as she stood back up, swiping at her chin with her sleeve.

  “What?!” She demands, brows furrowing. She doesn't know why exactly, but she feels like she's being laughed at and not in a good way. It made her feel embarrassed and weak and while this might not exactly be the time to feel so, she did. She couldn't remember the last time she'd been in a situation where she'd needed help, been unable to save herself, and it made her frustrated. Not only had she nearly been killed, but this man had saved her and now it seemed he was making fun of her.

  “Nothing.” He muses, amber eyes looking her over like a predator does prey. Then, he just turns towards the slain beast and striding over to his horse, grasping the reins and begins to walk off as if nothing had happened. She glances from the body of the beast to the retreating figure of her savior before stumbling out of the foliage and after him.

  “W-wait! How can I thank you?” She catches up with him, though she has to run to do so. He stops and tilts his head towards her, looking at her through long dark bangs, the smallest of smirks present on his lips. He watches her fall into step beside him before continuing in his stride.

  “You can take me to the nearest town.” He says though he doesn't look at her, keeping his gaze set on the path before them. She nods as she follows beside him, taking her sleeve and swiping at the blood on her face. He looks over at her and rolls his eyes, but doesn't say anything. As they continue down the road, she kicks a rock that they pass, linking her hands behind her as she peered up at the stormy sky.

  “You know, Yspaden is at least a day's away and well,” She scrunches her nose up and strays away from him, “You need a bath.”

  “What?” He says, turning his head to face her and she wanders back towards him at this time with a small giggle.

  “I'm saying you're covered in whatever the fuck that thing was's blood and well, I could repay you by offering up my place for the night.” She gestures ahead of them where the road diverges into two paths, one leading deeper into the forest and towards her home. “Least I could do, considering.”

  If she really thought about it, it wasn't a good idea to invite some strange man back to her home even if he had saved her, but she had some feeling about this man. Call it intuition, destiny, gut, whatever. There was just something about him that made her feel like she could trust him, like he was, well, safe. He looks at her and seems thoughtful before he nodded.

  “Come.” She says, stepping in front of him and leading him down the path that leads deeper into the forest.

    It wasn't long until they reached her humble home located within the thick of the forest. She felt waves of relief wash over her at the sight of the small cottage that she called home. She glanced back at the man behind her and nodded towards the home before continuing up the cleared path to the house, stopping at the wooden door. She gently pushed it open and stepped inside, a smile crossing her features as she stepped inside.

  The front door opened directly into a small living room which contained a few soft chairs set against the walls for the sake of space, too many shelves that were overflowing with books, herbs, and various trinkets. The living room led immediately into her kitchen, which was slightly smaller than her living room and was fashioned with several shelves as well, though mainly filled with herbs and spices she'd harvested from the forest. The kitchen then leads into her bedroom in the far back of the house, about the same size as the living room, which only contained her bed and a few stray books. The bathing room was connected to her bedroom and this gave her a mild sense of anxiety.

  Now she was starting to regret her decision. After all, she hadn't even asked this man's name and yet here she was, inviting him into her home. Sure, her family had taught her hospitality but look at what that had gotten them. She flinched slightly at the memory and pushed it out of her mind as she stepped into the living room and out of the way of her guest, gesturing for him to enter. It seemed that in the time she'd been berating herself for being dumb, he'd tied up his lovely horse outside.

  “Geralt.” He says as if able to sense her unease. She observed him as he carefully stepped over the threshold, looking about the cottage critically before shrugging dismissively.

  “Uh, Clara. Everyone just calls me Clare, though.” She replies, shutting the door behind him and heading towards the kitchen. He removes his sword from his back and sets it down beside the door, resting it against the wall.

  “Everyone?” He asks, a hint of amusement present in his tone. She rolls her eyes as she removes a pan, filling it with water. Seeing that her fireplace was still lit from when she'd left earlier, she placed the pan atop it before turning to him, though keeping by the fire to warm herself.

  “Yeah, if I actually spoke to people, it'd be everyone.” She turns back to the pan, watching it carefully as it heats on the fire, gesturing to one of the plush chairs. She can feel that he's surveying the contents of the room, not necessarily furniture but more so the clutter, and she feels a slight inclination to feel bad about it but stuffs it down. “You're welcome to sit. I'll warm the water and then cook while you're bathing.”

  He's by her side all of a sudden and her senses are bombarded with the smell and dare she say it, the taste of the beast's blood and guts and it nearly sends her stumbling back. Regardless, she remains polite and peers up at him, surprised to find the same concerned look on his face that he had when he'd helped her up. She tilts her head curiously, the stench now forgotten.

  “What is it? I can cook first if you're really hun-”

  “You bathe first.” He looks her up and down with those bright amber eyes of his and her face flushed hot with mortification at her current state of disarray. She knew she must look terrible – hair disheveled and covered in the blood of a slain beast (and not even one she'd slain herself), dress torn, muddied and soaked through with blood as well, and skin slathered with mud, leaves and even more blood. If she'd been spotted after he'd rescued her, she was sure the poor passerby would've run away screaming like a banshee. “You look like shit.”

  “Uh.” While she did look like shit and she knew it, it was yet again not exactly the response she'd been expecting. Weren't men supposed to, like, flatter women? She knew she was far from the prettiest and certainly not the most charming, certainly, a man would seek to flatter her, yes? And yet it seemed Geralt was just dead-set on flat-out insulting her. She clenched her fists at her sides, clenching and unclenching her jaw repeatedly, looking down at the fire as it heated the pan of water and carefully considered his words. She supposed she didn't have a lot of experience with men, but this was certainly something else. “Right.”

  She didn't say anything else. Instead, she grasped the handle of the pot and removed it from the fire and carried it to the bath, pouring it in. It filled the tub nearly halfway and deeming it satisfactory for her purposes, she closed the door and disrobed. She waited a few moments before sinking into the water, but once she did, it was like the doors of heaven had opened and welcomed her. While she wasn't sure about leaving Geralt alone in the living room of her home (she still wasn't sure about bringing him home), she really needed to get clean.

  The second her skin touched the clear water, it started to flood black and red from both the creature's blood and her own. She grasped a sponge from the side of the tub and began to run it down her skin, clearing it inch-by-inch, and it wasn't until she got to her leg that she saw the long gash that was the source of her bleeding. With a sigh, she cleared away the rest of the blood, both her own and the beasts and then finished with her hair.

  Once this was done, she stepped out to treat the wound on her leg. She carefully took some of her yarrow poultice and placed it over the wound. Heaving a sigh as she felt some of the pain subside, she crossed the room over to the door, grasping the thin bathrobe off the back and pulling it on. It was thin, see-through and stopped mid-thigh but it would have to do as she hadn't brought any clothes into the bathroom. She opened the door, peeked out and around the corner and seeing no sign of Geralt, stepped into the space of her bedroom. She closed the door, leaving it open only a crack and changed into her white night-gown. While it was just as short as the bath-robe, at least it wasn't as see-through.

  She paused to look at her reflection in the small mirror on the wall. While she could only see her face and some of her chest, it was enough. Her hair was still disheveled, though this time from being washed and the cherry red of the strands was much clearer now that it was clean of the blood and mud. Her skin was a bit reddened from being washed, especially her neck and collarbones, but even that didn't draw as much attention as the hint of a jagged scar peeking out from underneath her night-gown. Svelte fingertips drifted across the dark scar tissue, flinching at the memory that flooded her senses like it was happening before her that very moment.

  The dagger slicing through the air. The screaming of a child. The sobbing of a mother and father. It nearly brought tears back to her eyes and she struggled to hold them back, feeling like a stone was in her throat and a foot on her chest. She sat down on her bed, clawing at her chest as she felt it get heavier and heavier. Breathing quickly became slow gasps and she felt herself panic at this.

  She forced her shoulders down, relaxing them, and raised her arms above her head. Her breathing returned to normal, the weight lifted off of her chest and she felt her throat become gradually less and less constricted. Once she felt in control of herself, she checked her reflection in the mirror before opening her bedroom door and heading out into the living room.

  It was there that she found her guest, Geralt had fallen asleep in the chair closest to her door, his sword in hand. She was surprised by his ability to fall asleep so easily and readily, especially in a new place, but she supposed he had nothing to fear with abilities like his. She contemplated waking him for a bath and dinner, but instead resigned herself to bed as well. After all, it had been such a long fucking day.

how do you make poses for the roof? i'm not sure how i can know if the sims will clip into the roof or float

honestly i just...eyeball it...because all roofs are different and you can’t put them into blender so. i just winged it lmao...i just made a pose that looked like it could’ve been lou climbing out the window, only the rig was still ground level, and then i used alt + 9 to lift the teleporter onto the roof as best as i could. that’s why it probably wouldn’t be a very practical pose to release, because i have no way of making it easy to use

i don’t know if i’ll be able to replicate the reshade effect totally but i could release the action i’ve made for myself? it warms up screenshots but is totally adjustable to your liking for different color tones so in that way it’s kinda similar to the reshade. i’ll seeeeee what i can do...i know the woes of mac users all too well, my friend

Lady Gaga: Chromatica - Album Review

Forgive me if I don’t sound as smart in this one as other reviews I’ve done but it’s literally only because idk terms in pop music I know way more about heavy music even if I enjoy it all lmao.

Chromatica I - This honestly felt like the opening to a Disney film or something it was awesome 😂. Obviously these and the other 2 Chromaticas are instrumentals used in sort of concept albums so for that purpose it works well 😂.

Alice - Man this immediately reminded me of ALICE by Traci Hines but obviously less Disney and more of the concept of the story 😂. I really like the rhythm of this song and how high Gaga’s vocals go in the chorus especially from the start it really gives the song a lot of power immediately 😂. Obviously the idea of Alice in Wonderland is an idea of mystery and being lost, which for the start of this album is a really nice thing 😂.

Stupid Love - K I’ll just talk about the song here and EVENTUALLY do a separate post on the music video 😂. I absolutely love this song omg it’s got such an upbeat party vibe to it yet the lyrics still have some depth behind them 😂. The sort of depth of this song comes in at the pre-choruses when she sings “all I ever wanted was love”, it slows down, not dramatically, it doesn’t throw off the tempo of the song, but her voice becomes more raw and the music almost sits down for a bit until it’s brought back up in the chorus 😂. Idk I just love that cos it’s not just a fun pop song it’s got some deeper meaning behind it 😂.

Rain On Me (with Ariana Grande) - It’s literally just occurred to me that I didn’t actually talk about the song in that post cos it was released while I was really ill lmao so I’ll probably amend that at some point 😂. I really love the lyrics of this song, of course the main part of the chorus “I’d rather be dry but at least I’m alive, rain on me” it’s like saying “It’d be nice if I was okay but hey I’m still here”, it’s got such a weight behind it which I love. All throughout the song uses the metaphor of rain and how it’s linked to misery and sadness, but here it’s almost being celebrated that emotion is a part of being a human so let’s just all embrace it together. And in terms of vocals I’m not a fan of Ariana Grande but her vocal contribution is great here lmao, cos her voice contrasts a lot with Gaga’s (especially in the bridge) it gives almost a second tone to the song which is nice. Sorry I really like this song I’ll talk about it more when I amend that post cos I could go on forever 😂.

Free Woman - Fade in vocals make me WEAK just saying. I love the power of these lyrics, it’s such a strong song for women and the power that they can hold (I say they like I’m not one lmao), it’s just about owning EVERYTHING and like YES QUEEN 😂. I also love how the music is used throughout this song, it builds and drops just around the place which gives a different tone to the lyrics she’s singing, and also makes it a really nice listen for relaxing 😂. Idk I just love that 😂.

Fun Tonight - Now this was one that I didn’t actually like a lot. Usually if I don’t like a song it’s in the music rather than the lyrics, lyrics don’t usually bother me but if the music doesn’t slap I’m not crazy 😂. I think it’s something in the melody that doesn’t sit with me, it can feel a bit random to me sometimes? But that’s me being picky 😂. The music doesn’t stand out to me, it doesn’t do the dreaded “chorus-drop” but it just never builds up? I mean, it does, but not enough 😂. Idk with the music and the beat it just doesn’t agree with me 😂.

Chromatica II - Second instrumental, this gives me an almost haunting vibe? Like, not creepy ghost scary, but eerie mysterious scary 😂. Like shit’s about to go down 😂. I like it lol 😂.

911 - Nice transition 😂. Lol anyway I fucking LOVE this song, I don’t know what it is but I just really jammed to it first listen 😂. The vocals have a very robotic sound to them (possibly autotune mixed with voice alterations), like it sounds non-linear, idk some bits don’t sound like they were sang together 😂. Which I like, it adds to the concept of the song 😂. For a casual listen it works really well with the music, but the lyrics again have a nice depth about human emotions and how they can be perceived by others that give it something else 😂. Love this one so much omg 😂.

Plastic Doll - This was another one I didn’t really like eek. This section of the album is very much about personal image and human perception and trying to please others/removing yourself from how others want you to be, which the lyrics of this song really shows. I mean, for a lot of it she refers to herself as a Barbie doll, obviously using the metaphor of how dolls look perfect and are used by people, but the chorus says “hey fuck you don’t do that” which is cool 😂. Also it claps back when she sings “if you’re a real boy”, idk the depth of that it just sounds cool 😂. But again what I don’t like is in the rhythm, it’s like there’s not enough there for me to hold on to. Love the lyrics and the meaning but again if it don’t bop it don’t bop 😂.

Sour Candy (with BLACKPINK) - I won’t go into too much detail on this one considering my post on it is like a novel long 😂. But ngl if this song didn’t have Blackpink featured idk if I’d like it as much as I do 😂. It’s definitely a good song! Easy listen, simple bop with nice lyrics again linking to the human image section of this album, but if it was either just Gaga or an artist other than Blackpink idk if I’d like it as much 😂.

Enigma - Oooo love this one too 😂. Most of the power of the song is in Gaga’s vocals, she really goes for it in the chorus even when the music isn’t quite up there with her but it makes her stand out, which actually adds to the meaning of the song 😂. I don’t actually know what else to say I might make a post on it at some point so I can really get into it cos I feel like lyrically there’s a lot for me to dive into 😂. But it fucking slaps 😂.

Replay - Lol I’m one of those people who always says Replay is a song by Iyaz but this song is so good it could change my mind 😂. For the bop this is the lyrics have SUCH a depth to them, possibly more than the other songs so far cos holy crap there’s such a power and almost pain behind this song. I feel like she really conveys that in her vocals, there’s a lot of emotion in her performance that really add to the power and the feeling this song gives you. Musically it’s a jam but wow the lyrics just stand out so much about pain and trauma, it’s just so powerful to me omg.

Chromatica III - Final instrumental, idk what this sounds like to me but there’s definitely a lot of power in it which gives you a strong emotional response, like you do in film scores 😂. Idk instrumentals aren’t my strong post but... yeah 😂.

Sine From Above (with Elton John) - Man Elton John SLAY 😂. I really feel like I need to look in my old high school science books and look at the qualities of sine waves so I can go into that further but let’s just say for now I know a sine wave has something to do with weather and the earth and shit 😂. I won’t dwell on that too much cos I don’t wanna sound more stupid than I already do, but the feeling of hope is so strong here 😂. I’ve actually forgotten everything I wanted to say cos I’m so caught up on remembering all the scientific facts about fucking sine waves so I may have to do a separate post at some point but it bops and wow I didn’t know Elton John could sound like that I’m so used to him in Save Rock and Roll 😂.

1000 Doves - K I know this one lol 😂. Doves are a symbol of peace, so having 1000 of them is like... really peaceful 😂. Coming at this section of the album it comes in with the “humans stick together and help each other” idea, and the lyrics says stuff about “flying with broken arms” or whatever it is idk it doesn’t sound grammatically correct ANYWAY, it’s got that and asking for help, then it also got parts about helping others and being there for others, like it’s a two-way thing. Idk what I’m going on about but that’s it 😂. The music also helps with the peace thing, it’s calming but there’s still substance behind it and there’s something to it for me, a bop seeker, to hold on to, but it isn’t overwhelming or overpowering, it’s good 😂.

Babylon - I feel so bad that the final song on this album I don’t really like either 😂. Again it’s a music thing, I think for this one it doesn’t flow very well for me so it just doesn’t sit right with me 😂. I might just be being dumb but I’m gonna be honest with you lads I feel like this song needs research 😂. So imma just say it’s here and it’s closing the album 😂.

K overall, this album SLAPPED. It was SO GOOD. Since I’ve mostly listened to older Lady Gaga (mostly from The Fame and Born This Way but some from ARTPOP) I wasn’t expecting a 2020 pop album to be SO GOOD 😂. I can definitely feel the journey and the story Gaga was telling in this album, and it’s clear she put so much emotion and effort into this so like applause to her come on 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏. Idk what else to say haha it’s just really fucking good, you can always tell when an artist has put a lot of emotion into a release and I REALLY feel it here, again well done Gaga fucking love it 😂.
