Sometimes I randomly tear myself up thinking about the absolute hell Okabe puts himself through saving Kurisu.

I don't say "Kurisu and Mayuri" because he doesn't have a choice in saving Mayuri because he has internalized a duty to her. He does have a choice in saving Kurisu and does it out of love despite her insisting that he doesn't have to.

Luckily, all it took was a mere thousands of time leaps, a few jumps through attractor fields, one dystopia, one hellscape, getting stabbed, a pandemic that wasn't really a pandemic, severe depression, and drawing the attention of two probable psychopaths.

At least it seems like Reading Steiner didn't give Steins;Gate Okabe the memories of Beta Okabe? Or they're two different guys? Never really worked out how that worked.

Luckily, his unrivaled charisma and chivalry (also known as plenty of begging) got him to convince Kurisu to let him crash at her place.
