Eventually it came around that people agreed that if you were poor, you should do it, if you were actually queer you should secure the bag, and that if you were rich you were going to do it no matter if people gave you permission or not.

dw i dont think the poll was that deep! i just really like talking about these things lmao, i really love ofmd and brba so its hard for me not to think about the comparison deeper. in response to your thoughts on the matter, i just wanted to say— jesse actually didnt snitch! it gets revealed by the police later that krazy8 actually snitched on his own cousin, and had been an informant for them for a long time. all the characters in the show are pretty morally bankrupt and jesse is the best of them tbh (excluding almost all of the women and all of the kids). selling meth is basically like murder in ofmd where its like, so many of the characters sell meth and are criminals or crooked cops that the scale of morality is skewed. like i wouldnt call ed a bad person in the scope of ofmd because he’s committed murder (not by his own hands ofc but like, thats semantics, hes caused a lot of death.) i also dont really mind him saying faggot because its funny lmfao but stops he does stop saying it eventually, which is an improvement. he may say faggot but he’s honestly one of the least toxically masculine characters in the show. any toxic masculinity he exhibits is really limited (imo, its mainly his casual homophobia in the beginning of s1) and it never hurts anyone, unlike izzy who hurts so many people because of his toxicity. a consistent theme in the show is jesse being walt’s foil. the meth business brings out the darkest of walt’s narcissism, apathy and disregard for others lives and wellbeing, which turns him into a monster. all the while jesse stays empathetic, and is good at heart even if he fucks up sometimes and commits crimes. i could list all of the things that jesse does that drive home this point and personally make my heart ache for him but this ask is already long enough!! idk TLDR basically ofmd’s narrative condemns izzy’s actions and used him as contrast to the goodness of the other characters, whereas brba’s married frames jesse as decent person who is used to contrast walt’s genuine psychopathy and machiavellianism. i dont really think the characters are comparable from a narrative perspective but tbh i get why you would compare them from a fandom perspective! they are both poor little meow meows in fanon, and thats more accurate to what your poll was measuring. sorry again for how long this is i just have so many thoughts T_T

he is smart... but also clueless. he fuckin’ hates talking about politics so dont (or do if you lookin’ to stir the pot a lil bit). he literally just wants everyone to be happy and he wants peace love & good vibes etc to flourish in this nasty mess of a country. (so i guess he a hippie)

he does a lil’ bit of indie modeling on the side... nothing like main stream or whatever, but he’ll pose for his friends or if he needs some extra cash, he will help out local photogs.

oh when it comes to working... he is a slight pushover as a manager. so likeeeee he will do whatever he can to make sure his staff don’t see him as a dictator. he wants to be their friend *hashtag werk dad* he never wants anyone to feel like he's out to get them or anything like that so he will prob let people get off multiple times before he actually does things about it tbh.. but if he thinks you’re trying to take advantage of him... he gonna get real upset ok (so be nice to my bean... or do not. WHATEVA)

he likes giving back and making sure everyone feels comfortable and welcome.. if someone does a good thing, he will reward them with like cookies or free food from the food court or whateva !!!!

jamie looooooves drinking ... sometimes a bit too much. he doesn't mean to let it control him, but sometimes he loses control. he's had a few incidents to where he's woke up in places where he wasn't supposed to be Bc he blacked out... (reasons as to why will be divulged at a later time *winkwinkhinthint* (aka i dont know yet lmao)

weed? he dabbles with actually smoking (v rare unless he feelin a big mood or a big sad coming on) but he enjoys eating edibles more. less work and more of a high. BUT only when he's off the next day lmao or when he has a night shift the next day bc he aint tryna be a bad influence YA FEEL MEEEEEEE (but i want someone to make him loosen the fuck up ok yes ty)

Ok, so I am sat on my bed, it’s a Sunday afternoon and a week has passed since my last blog post. Chinese takeaway has been ordered HELL YAAASSS and now I just need to decide what to actually write about this week! Also, can I just say.... I AM WRITING BLOG 2 A WEEK LATER... AS PLANNED!!! .... Sorry... just never seem to be able to stick to these things!!

So the reaction I’ve had to my last post has been pretty overwhelming. So many people have got in touch to say how they can relate to my story, or to wish me well - which is rather bladdy lovely! :) I just wanted to get it all out there and I think this blog is helping me with the thing I probably find the hardest (other than feeling like utter shite of course) and that’s ‘acceptance’, so thank you for the support guys - really :)

This week has been pretty up and down, as per, I started the week with a few days resting at home, with Catfish pon d tele and with food entering my mouth at an alarming rate... I think I may have stretched my stomach... please help me... I then managed to get down to Saaaf Landannn midweek for a writing / recording session with the wonderful Warren Meyers (Audio Freaks) 

I’ve been working with Wol (Warren) for a good few years now and he has become a close friend of mine...... scrap that......he’s family :) He was the first producer / writer I started working with again after the long (maybe a year and a half?) break I’d had to take and we’ve written some of my favourite ever songs together!

So after the 2 and a half hour trek (travelling is THE WORST) I chilled at his for a bit and then we wrote verse 2 of a song called ‘I Can’t Breathe’ which is one of those songs that I think lyrically, anyone can relate to, but for me it was written about my health struggle.

I don’t actually tend to write much about my health, when it comes to songwriting it’s usually focused on my disastrous love life! But this one felt right... 

After a relaxed evening I headed to bed to watch the new episode of Girls :D (yes, sat here I genuinely feel like I am Lena Dunham and I am going to now become a writer! HAHAHAHAAH... funny ‘cos it’s true....oh dear) and then the next day we recorded the vocals down at the studio.

Man I love being there, surrounded by creative people all buzzing around working on various projects. I met some cool new people and got the song finished, so am sending it off for now for the pitch...wish us luck!!! Then it was time for a nap. Wonderful.

That evening we went for Chinese (yes you may notice a theme occurring here) and I had the best food of my life!!! Wol knows the owner well, and so he created a gluten free feast for me! OH MA DAYYYYYZ... I know this is so not interesting enough to have made my blog, but it really was that damn good!!

The next day was spent travelling home and then resting...actually the next two days after that were resting days too. I managed to do my 20 min walk on one of those days but not both. Trying not to beat myself up about that. And managed my 30 minute singing practise on both days but I felt AWFUL afterwards. Meh.

The reason I particularly needed to manage my daily walk and singing practise each day was because Saturday was gig day! Ah! 

The wedding was so beautiful!!!! If I ever get married.... I know... I have to find someone who wants to marry me first!!! Then if mine is half as pretty as this one was I’ll be happy! They even had a ‘rose wall’! :-0

I love wedding gigs so much, and feel so lucky to be making a living doing the thing I love most... but sometimes I do wonder if I’ve not exactly picked the best profession considering....

I’m so lucky to work with a band who understand, or at least try to understand all the M.E. stuff... I usually sleep in the car on the way there and back (well... I try to.....I kinda have to stay awake and keep my eyes on the road cos otherwise I think we will crash and die...yep...) And obvs I can’t do much (ok, any) of the lifting of the gear in and out of the venue, but they seem not to mind too much. Oh and I now have a new best friend..... THE GIGGING STOOL OF DOOM!! (not of doom. doom was just for effect) - I was reluctant at first but having my little friend on stage with me makes all the difference. 

If things aren’t toooo bad then I usually can’t help but be up on my feet, ‘dancing’ (I use the term loosely) and performing, especially when we are playing the upbeat numbers. Then I tend to perch on the stool for the jazzier numbers and click my fingers like it’s all part of the act! WERK IT BABY!

Also the adrenaline helps - when you’re there, singing in front of an audience of people, you do kinda have to just do it! And you can’t help but give it your all at the time! But oh the repercussions! Hence me typing this from bed right now with Chinese on the way... ok... can’t stop thinking about the crispy duck that’s gonna be in my bed with me oh so soon... that sounded weirder than intended... ok where was I.. yes... the next few days after a gig are always difficult, but I think that it’s worth it - I’ve been out and about, met new people, sang some songs - which I don’t know if I’ve mentioned but I really do enjoy! And I’ve earned that little bit of money to keep me going.

It makes me feel like a human bean.

And that brings me to being here.... a week on... a week stronger I feel! 

Next week looks relatively doable, a good mix of work and rest, but I am really looking forward to tomorrow - I have an appointment with the inventor of ‘The Lightning Process’ Phil Parker.

This is something I did maybe 8 years ago?? (total guess) and I found it really helpful at the time and genuinely thought played a huge part of getting me from the wheelchair to being up and about. It’s a really hard thing to explain (it’s a three day course so it would take me a whiiiiile to explain it!) but basically it’s neurolinguistic programming (NLP) and all about changing the way you think, releasing different chemicals, all that kinda thang. 

As the years went by I was getting stronger and being able to do a lot more, very slowly but surely. I ended up then not really using the process that much, if at all but then had the relapse of all relapses and have found myself getting desperate for help again. 

I’m at a weird stage now where I’ve just lost confidence in the process and don’t ‘believe’ in it like I used to... and there’s no point in doing it if you don’t truly think that it’s going to help you... like ‘The Script’ once said, ‘it’s like praying to a god that you don’t believe in’, right?

So... I am hoping to have my ‘Lightning Process’ faith restored tomorrow and will let you know what happens! I am so intrigued!!! 

So I just had a little break and devoured half a duck....to myself... oooops... now time for pudding!! I have the most amazing dairy and gluten free cornettos waiting for me in the freezer! noms :)

Making Sweden rock since 1993, to swipe a phrase, HAMMERFALL is the standard bearer for all things Scandinavian. Relentlessly prolific, they’ve helped define all that is good about modern power metal. 

In crafting the follow-up to 2016’s ‘Built To Last,’ singer Joacim Cans, guitarists Oscar Dronjak and Pontus Norgren, bassist Fredrik Larsson, and drummer David Wallin wrote a lot of their latest, ‘Dominion,’ on the road, a first for the band, according to a Facebook bio. And indeed it has an immediacy to it that their customary carefully-crafted polish can’t disguise.

“Never Forgive, Never Forget” references the Vietnam War. Cans’ voice aches with regret – the sentiment of the title seems to mean that we will never forgive nor forget the mistake that was Vietnam, rather than acting as some flag-waving braggadocio. Its details are carefully drawn, mentioning “the trail” (the Ho Chi Minh Trail), and “Call for Agent O” (Agent Orange, of course). The same haunting melody that introduces the song also serves as the outro and bookends things very nicely.

“Testify” is firmly anti-religion and pro-self-determination, apparent from the opening salvo (“I’m electric, energetic / Quite high on life’s epiphanies / I don’t need no two-time weasel / To judge my way based on their bigotry“) and it doesn’t let up (“Be the prophet, the creator / And master your own universe“). The title is ground out with vigor and all is set to a pounding, insistent rhythm.

Two midway tracks are real fist-raisers and horns-flashers, definitely inspired by that writing while touring. “One Against the World” is a call to the Templar faithful, exalting the glory of the live show, the defiance of the metal horde against all non-believers, a common theme in their canon.

And “(We Make) Sweden Rock,” the story of their own birth and a stirring tribute to their homeland, is a reminder that band and fans are one. If you don’t spontaneously and helplessly sing along to the chorus, check if you have a pulse.

“Second to One” is an old-school piano-based track with some truly lovely sentiments (“You’re the sweetest sound / The note that explains the symphony”). It’s ok that it gets all big and power-ballad-y in the chorus with the equally big solo – that’s what it’s supposed to do – and it’s not overlong nor overly sappy, which helps.

“Scars of a Generation” is rather like “a how metal saved the world” allegory. There’s a great line, “And the green-eyed monster sang the blues / To choke our flame,” almost saying other genres are envious of metal. It soars with glorious guitars and an especially spectacular bridge.

    “Dead by Dawn“ is the supernatural story of a demon summoning during a seance, all in good catchy, punchy, driving fun. “Bloodline“ brings, right on cue, the Norse mythology, retelling the fall of Asgard, the home of the gods, during Ragnarok, that the gods must die in order to be reborn. It’s laden with imagery (“By blood we are unified / By fire we will rise again“) and ends with a hopeful resolution – “And now we are free at last / Counting the stars up above / One for each brother who’s fallen from grace / Giving our bloodline a face.”

“And Yet I Smile” is a stirring note to end things on, of positivity and finding your own way (“in the end, we only will regret the things we did not do,” they note), and adding that in adversity, we often find our true selves (“My star cannot shine / Without darkness around”). How great is that and how true as well.

HAMMERFALL tours the U.S. starting in October with fellow power Swedes Sabaton in a bill that can’t be less than a blast. They’ll head back to Europe in the new year to headline, bringing Battle Beast along.
