Determined Justice(I simply call it DTJ so it's not confused with another au!) is a timeline shift au of sorts where the events of Undertale and Undertale Yellow are essentially swapped around! So Frisk is the 6th to descend and carries out the events of a true pacifist Undertale, and Clover is the 7th! Also Chara is here too, stuck with our favorite little cowpoke!

So far there's only 5 chapters to the fic but I'm slowly working on more!

Listen, Lenn said that the type of clothes that Philza would be wearing would be Mesopotamian. You think I'm not going to jump on that?? I so am. Also, the jewelry is beautiful, I'm very tempted to make some in that style (even if I'd never wear it)

I can't sing the praises of this fic enough. It's got language barriers, I love that shit, and the way Lenn formats it--oh my GOD please read it!

Ok, so, more details on the art and process if anyone wants them, as well as the scribble sheet I was taking notes on.

So most of my reference for the jewelry came from pictures of artifacts from the royal tomb of Ur and Queen Pu-abi's jewelry. I would KILL to see the artifacts in situ but oh well.

This is my scribble sheet. Highlights include complaining about the article saying that the only reason jewelry was found in men's graves and daggers found in women's graves were bribes for the gods of the afterworld, and a mild breakdown once I found out what bitumen was. My brother suffered through extended rants on both but he deserved it.

Some notes:

-Lenn says that Phil was a god of Magic (simplified explanation ngl) and the Sumerians were obsessed with Lapis Lazuli. Maybe that's why Lapis is used in enchanting, Phil was obsessed with the stuff. If we're assuming Minecraft Enchanting rules in this setting.

-Sumer is actually where we get the measurement of time from! They were the ones who liked the number 60, and 24, and all that. I noticed that there was repetition of 12 and 8 in the jewelry I saw, especially with Pu-abi's choker and the 8-point rosette. If I had made Phil wear Pu-abi's choker, it would have been an 8-point star/flower...both for simplicity and also because I think the love of 12 as a base may not have been used so much as 8. I could go on and on and on, but I'll stop there

-Carnelian, Lapis, and gold were the most common material used in jewelry, so I went with Phil having predominantly Lapis and Gold, with a little carnelian mixed in. If I were to make a version of this with Techno, he'd have predominantly carnelian. If I cared more about the symbolism of stones I'd go look that up but I also know I'd start looking like a conspiracy theorists if I do that

-Philza's clothing and jewelry are very understated; I figured this would be what he would wear when he was more relaxed and just chilling, and so potentially what outfit he got trapped in for thousands of years.

-I was thinking about adding beaded strings draping over his wings, but if this is meant to be a chill-time outfit, he probably wouldn't deal with that. Or he took them off before going to destroy the world, I imagine they'd get tangled the hell up

-I wonder if the people who trapped him stole all the jewelry around the palace. I wonder if they ended up in museums...though Phil would probably just take them back and nobody would really protest. But imagine if he DID humor the curators of the museum even a little

-the jewelry was done with acrylics, including metallic for the gold, and the rest was watercolor

-I'm probably going to experiment with metallic paint for the feathers, but that's not right now.

As for watching lifesteal, the most important thing you have to know is that if you watch lifesteal videos and not streams: lifestealers lie to you. They lie to you so much. Recent roshambo video is the greatest example there isn't a single true thing he said throughout its entirety and every single event that occurred in it is peppered with lies <- exaggeration but also not. So never buy anything told to you in a lifesteal video as a truth, because while it can be, youtube!ls is a whole AU lmao

If you are watching streams - good fucking luck. I had to watch like 65 s6 Zam vods to catch up to the current day because I only joined this fandom late September, and man. I thought I could skip some of them but nope, this man can drop some bone-shattering painful conversation or even a monologue in a middle of 12 hour grinding stream and you would never know otherwise. And the further into the season it goes, the more filled with lore the vods become. Like last two vods especially had so much emotional damage to me, even though one of them was built off s4 events that I hadn't even watched, man. It was insane.

But to ease your burden: you don't have to watch every pov. Watching more than one pov helps with understanding things and now that I'm caught up I usually watch everyone that's live when they're live, but watching just Zam worked for me pretty well while I was catching up to modern day. Like yeah it certainly gives you a bias towards your pov, but that's a-ok! Lifesteal isn't about who's a good person it's about who's your favorite war criminal!

For inside jokes I have No Fucking Clue. Probably "win condition baconnwaffles0" for this season but I am not kidding when I say I didn't even watch lifesteal until late september and I only started being active in lsblr like a month ago. Maybe less. I am the most lurker of all lurkers I did not exist in fandom until very very recently and I have no idea what the jokes here are. I'm just here for the ride.

Oh wait, probably "is he an ai robot" as the biggest thing of s6. That shit was so funny they were so perplexed. OH BOY DO I!!! i thought you would never ask 😁!! im going to rant a bit now i hope you don't mind. i consider myself a soushin ao3 connoisseur if you will, there's a lot but i find the gold underneath the. non con i guess. i dedicate my ao3 account to recing and bookmarking (primarily soushin) fanfiction so if you wanna look through my public soushin bookmarks you can see them here. but ill talk about some great authors now

YES traptrixnepenthes is one of my very favorite authors for the pair they are very awesome outstanding characterization i loove rereading their soushin fics. i think all of their soushin fics are top tier read all of them they are the cream of the crop i am telling you. ok anyway

Novaz writes some very nice fics, this one being my favorites of theirs. their Cinderella Kiss fic was the introduction of soushin for me so that's epic but i was actually still playing the game when i read it, i wasn't even on chapter 3 so i was real confused but still very cool

Vixpine is another really great author i used to be a big fan and now we are mutuals :D isn't that so cool i think that's cool!! vixpine is so awesome, this is my favorite fic by them but big angst warning like its crazy. fun fact this is actually the author that really got me into soushin so thank you vix o7

Mido_X is a real one, he writes a lot of soushin based on psych headcanons and give lots of ASPD midori fics which i always love its very real to me, i really love how they portray their relationship. also one of my mutuals!! and they participated in my soushin week!!!!! so he is very very awesome and cool. here is my favorite fic of his, 2/3 chapters are finished but i think its fun speculating what could happen next!

masadora only has 2 soushin fics but they are super good alright trust this one is my favorite of the two, its a nice long 26k word work and a little horror and unreliable narrator is so fun

I still think about qsmp purgatory

To me, that arc was absolutely perfect.

The stakes were so high, we genuinely thought some or all of the eggs might die depending on who the winners ended up being, and no one knew exactly how that would play out, so you had to just try damn hard to win for your kid. But there was even that chance that if your team did win that would be the wrong outcome and your kids would die.

But anyway the atmosphere was insane

That eye and the ominous fucking voice, that opening animatic of the mystery guy walking into a surveillance setup, monitoring everyone on the island, that’s so cool. So much mystery, so much implied power.

And then we get there and girlies have NOTHING. And it was fucking bugged or something for the first part so no one could fucking mine cobblestone. Then the random disadvantages pile on top of that, now you’ve got to worry about thirst, all the food is going bad and won’t stack.

And I watched Bolas pov so that’s what I am talking about:

This group was at every conceivable disadvantage. Right off the bat they only have like half the active members of the other groups, no one there is good at pvp, and most of those guys don’t really grind and play that much. They keep dying, Phil starts to make some progress and admins spawn mobs all around him to prevent even that. They give up, and resort to killing each other.

And somehow, from rock bottom, from passing through all the stages of grief and landing on insanity, this small group goes from being but a speck in the progress bar percentages to fucking winning the whole thing.

Watching their madness turn into actual power is sooooo wonderful to watch. They stay fully crazy. But somehow, that works. Going absolutely feral, saying fuck the rules and do whatever, yell mumbled nonsense at your enemies, steal all their shit, that’s the winning play.

There is something so gratifying in watching them go from day one of not having a base, dying over and over again, to week 2 where they are kinda doing the damn thing. And still don’t have a real base and die over and over. I mean that’s literally Jaiden’s main strategy.

And then Baghera with the fucking chainsaw. And Cellbit leaning into his character’s preestablished bloodlust thingy, and everyone collectively building off of each other’s energy.

And something about watching my favorite blorbos lose their goddamn minds for 5 hours every day. I loved every second of it. And it wouldn’t be able to be much longer, Slimecicle for one was absolutely exhausted, that guy doesn’t stream for more than a few hours and now he was grinding for 5 a day. Only adds to the chaos.

But the pace, it being every day and yet a scramble because of the time limit of play time.

The stakes of the eggs lives potentially being on the line

The complete foreign nature of an entirely new island?? With a new scary npc??? Unprecedented.

i used to have to do this task which was just. watering all of the flowers near the clubhouse and i can imagine mitch doing that and like surroptitiously glancing over his shoulder to check if auston is around or watching or something… just some good old fluffy pining yk…

i have a like Whole Ass procreate file w everyone sorted into lil groups so here’s some little tidbits …

i think i mightve talked abt this in another post but sid (crosby) and claude (giroux) both work for turf and are both Incredibly Competitive about it in the most insane way ever… im talking “you take half the course i take half the course and we see who finishes faster” (starting at 6am ish) mowing competitions and theyre both done at 8 on the dot…. insane people shit…. they did it with bunkers ONCE and claude tripped and fell into a bunker and broke his wrists so they do not do that anymore o7….

in honour of my boss feeling like my dad i put patty marleau and matt martin in turf…. they do rough mowing in honour of the two guys at my course who Only did rough mowing…. big ass machine

the thing to know about guys who are higher up on the turf echelon is that not only do they all know each other but they also went to school for it… turf school…. all this to say top grad of turf school Sidney Crosby got some little ducklings and thats how Connor McDavid (top turf school grad) got to this course…. we love that for him

shoutout to other guys who also have fun little romance stories but who arent mitch and auston, including but not limited to:

connor mcdavid, who keeps getting his work paused by these three golfers, which always makes him grit his teeth and smile softly at them, because Holy Shit Let Me Get Back To My Job Please. matthew tkachuk (son of Great Golfer Keith Tkachuk) seems to take joy in interrupting connor while he’s in the middle of something, jack eichel always catches him bent over and sweaty trying to shove the wheels back onto a greens mower for one of the kids, and leon draisaitl stands on the side to wait until connor’s at least done a pass to ask him something. matthew jack and leon can be seen at the clubhouse after they finish a round, head in hands, because connor is oblivious to their flirting. maybe they should try learning the names of different types of grass.

jamie drysdale (uni student staying with his grandparents over the summer) always comes to the clubhouse for breakfast with them, which absolutely delights bored server trevor zegras… too bad the summer has to end some time! lol! anyway

tyler bertuzzi (turf) seems to always have dirt under his fingernails, some mulch and woodchips stuck to his shorts, scuffs on his knees, and a dirty ass sweater on. dylan larkin (clubhouse) finds him INCREDIBLY endearing.

brady tkachuk (son of Great Golfer Keith Tkachuk) when he’s not driving his brother around so he can try and find connor (“seriously, matthew, he looks busy” “no, it’ll be fine, look—”) is smiling sweetly at the fumbling german waiter who always engages leon in rapidfire german conversation. tim, his nametag says, and brady would love to have more than a few word conversation with him. maybe he should interrupt leon’s brooding time with matthew and jack and ask him to teach him some german.

if you want to communicate with the turf team’s mechanic and don’t want to be asked “where sid? tell him—” you should bring sid with you to see him. however, if you do bring sid, you will have to watch him and said mechanic do Weird Flirting for a good 30 mins before your question is answered. this is outside of the Weird Flirting they do anyway, all the time. if a day goes by without sid twirling his hair kicking his feet over some shit geno said to him earlier in the day has the day really gone by?

followup turf/clubhouse Flirting (I CANT BELIEVE I ALMOST FORGOT TO MENTION THEM IYKYK) tyler seguin, Pretty Boy Galore, and his loud, bubbly, and all consuming obsession with quiet doe-eyed turf worker jamie benn. now thats what i call oblivious. “yeah i flirt with jamie all the time but he just thinks its a joke haha he couldnt want me i know that like have you seen him?” “yeah tyler flirts with me but he’s just joking he doesn’t mean that he could never like me like that have you seen him?” and all that good good shit… tyler sees jamie take off his shirt once because it got soaked and loses his mind.

jack hughes (brother of turf guys luke and quinn) absolutely has the biggest crush on his coworker, fellow clubhouse worker nico hischier. once nico got wet in the rain and soaked through his white work shirt and jack almost lost his fucking mind. absolutely twirling his hair kicking his feet.

both pairs of bruins that i like (bergeron/marchand and swayman/ullmark) are fun little golf tandems. me when i get a hole in one and hug and twirl around a kiss my golf partner. what if we kissed in the front seat of a golf cart. and all that.

finally… honourable mention to john tavares (golfer, has his own labelled golf cart at a course in toronto… love that for you king….) kris letang (turf) and marc-andré fleury (clubhouse) who get to listen to sid moan and groan about geno, and self jarvis (turf) who is completely out of place among the other teams included in this au but i love him so hes here lmfaoo

anyway. yeah. i have LOTS of ideas about this au if you couldnt tell and anon i am SO happy you asked abt it… sorry it took me a few days i have to write like most days for school this semester and its leaving me Very Little time to do anything but reblog posts and draw matty and woller. MATTY AND WOLLER. oh my god i cant believe i almost forgot them uhhh…..
