actually no i need to talk about the green witch arc. ciel and his band of merry fools go to germany and learn that this forest is haunted by WEREWOLVES and in it is a village full of WITCHES with cursed amulets and potions and whatever

and the immediate vibe is "lol what a bunch of bogus" which is really just batshit coming from the kid with a demon butler

and then woah big reveal! it wasn't werewolves or witches it was a covert military operation REPLETE with radar tracking (not a thing until wwii) and electronic displays (most likely crt screens, which again weren't fully developed until the 1930s) and TANKS. for reference the first "tank" was put together by a guy in 1899 who mounted a machine gun to THIS

absolute paragon of engineering. the panzer (the exact model of tank in the arc) was not a thing until wwi.

and. and ciel and ESPECIALLY the Demon Butler in question are like. ohhhh yeah that makes more sense. the amulets were just transmitting our exact locations through technology that won't exist for another three decades. whew glad we sorted that one out. man wouldn't it have been CRAZY if it really was werewolves.

"Chapstick!" You snatch it back. "If you keep doing that you're going to mess it up."

"I like these." Wind grins, playing with the sunglasses as they fit on his snuggly on nose. "I want some! Everything looks cool and dark."

"Well yes." You laugh a bit as you apply the lip balm to your lips, only vaguely aware that Twilight had been watching the movement. "That's the point of them anyway. They're meant to wear on very sunny and bright days so you don't hurt your eyes."

"How do I look?" He strikes a pose. He looks ridiculous. They don't remotely fit him.

"You look great, little buddy!"

"This smells nice." Sky rubs his hands together, smelling his hands again right after. You had been trying to do your morning routine when the boys had caught your various skin/health care items. You didn't have the strength to stop them as they fiddle with what you had and began to continue looking through your stuff.

"Good." You reply absentmindedly to Sky as you take your lotion back. "It's supposed to."

"But what is it for?" Warrior takes the bottle out of your hand and tries to read what's on the bottle. Naturally, he understands nothing.

"It's to keep your skin soft." You sigh and hold your hand out for it. Honestly, the least they do is ask. It's like trying to keep your brother's our of your drawer.

"Can I try?" Warrior asks, eyes bright like a child's.

You groan and face palm. "Sure. Go ahead. It's not like that's the only bottle I brought with me or anything."

"I'm surprised you brought it at all." Legend jokes, playing with one of your pens that has multiple inks on the inside. You think he likes the clicking sounds the most. It's not like he knows he can draw with it. "What good is all this stuff?"

"You don't get to say anything!" You accuse. "You brought three journals, two shovel and like five different magic rods!"

"Those are are tools!" He sits up at once. "They're to help when you're out and about and adventuring!"

"Well this is for my sense of routine and structure!" You fire back. "I need some sense of normalcy in this crazy messed up time wibbly wobbly thing I've found myself in! None of you know what a microwave is!"

"Did you bring it?" Wild tilts his head. "What's does that do?"

"I- No, I didn't bring one." You fight the urge to face palm again, "It's too huge and heavy but it's suppose to heat up food faster than a fire and it's convenient."

Wild grins. "I want one."

You sigh. "...I'll see what I can do, big guy."

Random thoughts

There is something so poetic about the almost and the never.

Galadriel and Halbrand met on a raft in the middle of the sea, in the middle of nowhere.

Both were broken individuals, running from their pasts and searching for something to give meaning to their lives and pain.

They clung to each other, shaping one another into what they wanted to be. For a time, this connection worked; they were almost something—friends or lovers, it didn’t matter.

But then life crashed back in, and they had to face reality. Whatever they had between them would never fully be.

They couldn’t ignore their pasts or run from them. Yet, their meeting meant something. Galadriel confronted her fears

and realised she was all she needed to become her true self.

Halbrand, through Galadriel, transformed into his true self—Sauron, the Dark Lord.

Their choices gradually led them to drift apart, both physically and emotionally. However, their experiences in that liminal space between them were genuine. What they felt for each other was real. They had almost become something significant. Now, however, they will never be anything together again.
