Part 14: It’s been awhile...

Crash And Burn- Ashton Irwin smau

Summary: You and Ashton were never on the best of terms, maybe since you guys were so similar: sarcastic, stubborn, protective and had a true love of art. After a misunderstanding and $200 on the line, you find yourself (fake) dating the campus’ most adored (and drooled after) art student... with friendships at risk and feelings emerging it was only a matter of time until the inevitable crash and burn

A/n: Wow I actually managed to post on Monday!! (A week after I promised but hey I tried I’m sorry tho) Hope you guys enjoy this written part! Hope it starts clarifying things and brings you a bit that drama!! If you have any questions lmk I know I think things are clear and sometimes it’s like uh no Lydia no one knows wtf you’re talking about lolol. Anyway enjoy!

Those words kept replaying in your head. Over and over again. I told you this would be easy...I told you this would be easy...I told you this would be easy...

No there was no way. He wouldn’t...except he would. It was right there on Luke’s lockscreen. The whole conversation occurring right before your eyes. A bet. That’s all you were. You don’t know when it was made or how for that matter... but after all that questioning and finally believing, no deluding, yourself into thinking maybe, just maybe what you and Ashton had was real. No wonder he was so insistent on starting this whole fake relationship... in fact you wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the real reason he kissed you that night at the party... just to receive his cash payout for managing to get you, the person who despised him the most, to go out with him. And he thought it would be easy...

Despite your anger and frustration you couldn’t stop the tears that ran down your face. You put Luke’s phone back on the table and texted Lisa you had to go because there is no way you could stay here. Luckily you were in a secluded area back of the library, making easy to wipe your eyes as you gathered your things and made your way through the shelves of books. Just as you were nearly at the gathering area of the library where all the booths and madness occurred you heard someone call your name.

“Y/n? Are-are you alright?”

You turned around to see the last possible person you thought you would ever run into again. Sitting there at one of the couches along the shelves was none other than Jae.

“Oh...hey” you said, wiping your eyes and trying to feign a smile. “Jae...it’s um.. it’s been awhile”

“Ya... I guess it has...” he said, standing up and walking over to you. “What happened?”

You looked up to meet his eyes, surprised to find nothing but concern. Despite everything you both had been through he was still such a good guy...

“Nothing... it’s nothing don’t worry” you said trying to reassure him...and yourself

“It doesn’t look like nothing... y/n... come here” he said, grabbing your arm and guiding you to the couch. “I know we aren’t exactly...close... but tell me what’s going on? Please?”

You let yourself be pulled next to him on the couch, strangely finding comfort in his presence. “There’s really not much to tell” you laugh “you know just relationships are hard...”

“Trouble in paradise huh?” Jae sighed. “Should have known... what did he do?”

“It’s...complicated...but it just has me questioning everything... and now I just don’t know what to expect next... and...he’s just...I-... ahh“ you couldn’t stop the resurgence of tears, but this time you truly felt as though you were going to break...saying those words out loud made everything so REAL. Here you were crying about the guy you fell for not once but twice and managed to get your heart broken both times to the guy you once thought you would end up with. You couldn’t help but think things would be so much easier if you ended up with someone else...like the guy currently holding you...rubbing your back and whispering words of assurance as you cried into his chest... probably ruining his hoodie with your makeup and tears. Oh how different things would have been...

After a short while you finally were able to take a breath... no more tears left to fall...

“I’m really sorry about that...” you said, sitting up and wiping your eyes.

“Y/n...it’s ok you looked like you needed someone to talk to and hey you actually needed a shoulder to cry on and just glad I could help” Jae said with a small smile. Although no longer holding you, he still kept his hands against yours.

You looked at him, seeing the care, concern and kindness in his eyes... if not for the misunderstanding you couldn’t help but wonder what if...

Before you could stop the words leaving your mouth you found yourself saying “I really liked you you know”

His eyes widened, then he began to smile. He laughed softly as he looked down, not quite wanting to meet your eyes.

“No Jae I mean it... I REALLY liked you. I just wanted you to know that.. things just got so messed up... and I found myself with someone I never expected...”

“It’s... it’s fine that’s all in the past... I REALLY liked you too” he said giving you a wink. “But that party sent us both in different directions. You ended up with Ashton... I started dating Ashley... I met her that night and we’ve been happy ever since...”

Now it was your turn for your eyes to widen in surprise. You didn’t know he ended up with that Omega girl.

“Oh wow... I-I didn’t know... I’m happy for you Jae”

“Well we aren’t the center of all campus gossip so that’s ok! Can...can I ask you something though? That night, was it really the start of your guys’ relationship? Or were you together when we met?”

“Oh my gosh Jae...no. I promise nothing happened between us until that night. I know there were a lot of stories and pictures going around but that’s not what happened. I wouldn’t do that to you...”

He smiled, seemingly pleased with your answer. You couldn’t help but wonder about the hurt he probably felt because of you... how he was here with you now instead of hating you was incredible.

“I didn’t think so... you didn’t seem like that kind of person...and even though we weren’t even together I just didn’t think you would do that to me...”

You sighed, leaning your head against his shoulder. “How on earth did we end up here Jae?”

“I have no idea... the universe works in strange ways...”

You laughed as you heard someone approach you both. Looking up you were surprised to find none other than Ashton, looking at you with hurt and confusion.

“Ash? What-what are you doing he-“

He grabbed your wrist, pulling you away from Jae and towards the exit of the library. “Let’s go” he said, cold and harsh.

“What-no!” You yelled, pulling free from his grip. “I’m not going anywhere with you!”

“So what you’re just going to stay here with him? You’re still my girlfriend”

“Am I?” You met that in multiple ways. You were his pretend girlfriend. You may have been something close to the real thing, but now? Now things were beginning to end.

He seemed to sense the dual meaning behind your words. Asking you so many questions in those green eyes that met yours.

Sensing the tension between you both, Jae stood up ready to get between you both.

“Y/n-“ Jae started to say before he was cut off.

“Stay out of this” Ashton said, glaring at the other guy.

“No he doesn’t have to do anything you tell him.”

“So what y/n you want to back to him now? You really want to end things between us that way?”

“Wow that’s rich coming from you!”

“What?”

“Oh please like you didn’t do the same thing to me! When we first met I was so in love with you and just when I thought things were serious you ended up with some other girl! What was her name? Chelsea? And just when I start opening my heart to you again... when I let go of that hatred and start to love you again I find those messages... I really just mean nothing to you do I Ashton?”

“What y/n- no I-“ Ashton says. Shocked, surprised, confused...unable to complete a sentence, not that he was able to since you cut him off.

“I don’t want to hear it Ashton. Just leave me alone.”

You walked past him, leaving him there staring dumbfounded. Trying to process your words, so many things finally making sense. That’s why you hated him...because of Chelsea of all people. The news you fell for him as hard as he fell for you, not once but twice. And both times he fucked up. He didn’t even notice when Jae left. To absorbed in his own thoughts and wondering how in the fuck he was going to fix this.

requested by anon: ok so for the bi!reader concept: last year i ended my relationship w this girl the main reason was because she was really insecure and jealous especially about me being bisexual like anytime i would talk to a guy she would just get so upset about it and she would make such gross biphobic comments and at the time i had so much internalised biphobia that i tried to convince myself i was gay n stayed in the relationship longer than i should have because i rly liked her i guess lol anyways (1/4) we ended and a while afterwards i started seeing this guy who i’d known of for ages (friends of friends type situation) but we just never really talked before or hung out but from the first date we clicked and the sex was crazy good like the type of sex were ur ditching ur vibrators cuz he’s that good lmao so one weekend we went to this party together and of course she is also there, i was so surprised and i could see her eyeing us the whole night, so when she came over i was anxious af (2/4) and this guy knew i was bi! it was no secret, i worked really hard to accept myself! so she comes over and she deadass goes “are you straight now? i knew you would end up with a man!” and she’s all smug but also hurt and im standing there like what the fuck and THEN this dumb man goes “ha guess the sex is so good i made her straight again” and i’m literally about to cry over how gross the whole interaction is and im so shocked i can’t even defend myself, i dumped him that night obviously (3/) last messgae: so basically can you pls do a redo of the gross situation where instead of being with that dumb guy its with calum and he is so protective n sweet n NORMAL n encourages u to stand up for urself about bisexuality / your sexuality, because what happened to me happens too often and its disgusting and gross and no one deserves that!! only if u feel comfortable/inspired tho, no pressure!! love u laura, thank u for creating such a safe space for all the queer babies it means a lot 💘 notes: i kinda enjoyed writing this one esp for my sweet anon baby. i love u and i hope this is everything you wanted ♥ warnings: biphobia, implications of emotional abuse

“Hey what’cha doing sweets?” Calum’s voice pulled you from your musings, your hand idly tracing patterns against the paper but the pen remaining on the desk. You wrenched your thoughts from the spiral you seemed to have fallen down, a smile crossing your lips as you felt your heart flutter at the sight of him.

“Nothin’. Just thinking.” You finally replied as he pulled up one of the spare chairs next to you, the bustling activity of the coffee shop falling into your background noise as his thigh pressed against yours.

“Really? Normally you doodle when you’re just thinking.” He countered with ease and your eyes dropped to the paper, noticing that the pen remained where you’d placed it when you first sat down. Subconsciously you must’ve realised that the route your thoughts had gone were not suitable to put down on paper, your fingers picking up the pen and mind falling blank immediately.

“Oh.” You breathed before placing the pen back down and packing away the pad and pen.

“What’s running through your head, doll?” Calum’s voice was quiet and concerned, you shrugged.

“Just, a lot on my mind is all. You’re not my keeper just because we’ve slept together.” You admitted quietly and he frowned before picking up his bag and for a sinking second you thought he was going to walk off, but instead, he took your bag from your hands and slung it over his shoulder.

He looked back at you expectantly and you sighed before standing up, leaving the coffee shop with him, your eyes on the floor as you fell into step next to him.

“Your place or mine?”

“E’s gonna be home and I don’t want to hear them rant about me bringing people back.” You muttered and Calum nodded.

“I think Ash is out. He’ll probably head out to Luke’s if I show up with you.” At his smirk, you rolled your eyes fondly before shoving him towards the bus stop. His indignant “hey!” was only ignored as you two waited for the bus, his arm slung over your shoulders.

Selfishly, you leaned into his touch, trying to ignore the fact that your stomach was doing flips at his touch alone.

The bus journey was a quiet ten minutes, but Calum seemed to understand that you weren’t willing to talk with so many people around, so he was content to just keep you close, and you were unwilling to pull away until his stop came up.

When you reached his shared house with Ashton, you noted that the car was gone from the driveway and Calum smirked.

“Looks like he’s out. C’mon.” His hand tucked around yours and pulled you inside. And for a second you wondered if you could distract him with sex, but then the guilt appeared and you could feel the tears of frustration appear as your thoughts swirled and you felt dizzy.

Calum had stepped ahead, turning to see you stood leaning against the closed door, head in your hands and he knew something was wrong. Stepping back to you, he dropped your bags and took your hand in his, pulling you upstairs to his room and your stomach twisted uncomfortably.

“Cal I-”

“I’m not suggesting that.” He muttered. You fell silent at that and as he pulled you into his room, you felt unsure, but he gave you no chance to really deny him as he crawled into bed before opening his arms out to you.

“Cal.”

“I know you. You don’t do emotional stuff well but I’m here for a cuddle and an ear if you need it.” You fell into the embrace easily, your head resting on his chest as his arms wrapped around your shoulders, his lips finding your temple as you finally felt something in you snap, the surge of emotions overwhelming and frighteningly vivid.

“I keep telling myself that I never was a lesbian, that I still found men attractive but Poppy made me feel like having that attraction was stupid since I was dating her and that I was a lesbian and it’s so fucking confusing because I like you, but I can hear her voice screeching that I’m not right, that I’m a lesbian or faking it or a freak.” And for the first time since you left Poppy, you cried.

Calum had been waiting for this. When the split had happened, you’d been ready for it, you’d already left her mentally, but this was what he knew you needed. He knew that the relationship with her had been toxic, but you’d never revealed the extent of her behaviour.

His heart broke.

“Just because you like both men and women does not mean you should feel so guilty over your sexuality. There’s a B in LGBT for a reason, doll. That’s you. You’re bisexual and you should be proud of that, not ashamed because some bitch with a control issue couldn’t handle the fact that you liked more than women.”

You found yourself gripping his shirt with your fists as you pressed your face into his chest, trying to stem the tears that seemed relentless. But Calum held his silence whilst you got it out of your system, knowing that you needed to get this off your chest.

“I’m sorry.” You finally got out, but he simply shushed you.

“She was a shitty person with an attitude to show. You shouldn’t apologise for the bitch.” His words were simple but it gave you a breath of ease, pulling away as hands rubbed your shoulders gently.

He was definitely too good to you, but he was there for you regardless and you were certain that you loved him for that.

“There’s gonna be a party on the other side of town in a couple of weeks. Ash took over the old Firefly down on Hartley. He’s revamping before opening the bar to the public. You fancy going?” And you smiled at the gentle distraction he was offering.

“We get at least a free drink if we show up, right?” And Calum laughed as he kissed your temple.

“He wouldn’t say no to me. Or you. In fact, I’m almost certain he’s expecting me to do full introductions on that night since Luke and Mike will be there with the others and their girls.” You rolled your eyes.

“It’s not like I went to school with Luke or anything.” Came your sarcastic retort and Calum laughed as the two of you settled for the evening.

“Pretty sure Luke last saw you when you started dating Poppy. He’s put two and two together but he won’t say anything unless you mention it. Even then he knows it’s not his place.” Your heart seemed to swell another size in affection for Luke.

“You’re making it difficult for me to not fall in love with you Cal. Good dick, you know how to use those lips and fingers of yours, you make me feel like I belong and you respect boundaries without me having to ask.” You finally muttered and Calum gave you an almost wistful smile.

“You may have been with Poppy but that didn’t stop me from being friends with you. You’re someone I’ve genuinely cared about from day one. Not gonna chuck that away because of who you are. Plus growing up with my mom and sister almost made certain I’d be in touch with my feminine side.” He teased but the sincerity and understanding in his tone eased your shoulders.

Your features softened at the admittance and you pressed a kiss to his cheek.

“Then I definitely got lucky to have you in my life at least, falling in love or not.”

When the day of the party rolled around, you felt sick with nerves and you couldn’t understand why.

When Calum rolled up to pick you up—he was driving to Luke’s who lived closest to the bar and you’d both get a ride back to yours before he picked up his car the following morning—he could see the nerves and the grimace on his face spoke volumes.

“What?” You all but demanded when you were debating outfits. He’d been sitting on the bed watching, but got up and held his hands out to you.

You took them hesitantly. His thumbs almost immediately started to soothe across the back of your hands to help relax you.

“Word has gotten around that Poppy is planning to show up. We haven’t exactly been quiet about our relationship, but I didn’t think she’d pull something like this.” And your stomach churned uncomfortably.

“We’re still going. Ashton promised free drinks and we’ll be in the VIP area right?” You checked and Calum nodded.

“Ashton has already told the bouncers that she’s not allowed near the VIP section. They’re checking and rechecking the lists to make sure she isn’t on one of them.” He explained and you let out a breath of air.

“Okay. It’ll be fine. It’s being handled and I’ve got you. Now which outfit do you think I should wear?” He studied your face for a second before a smile broke across his lips.

“The dark purple with the deep plunge. Is it wrong of me to flaunt in her face what she lost?” And you laughed as you kissed him.

“I mean, yes. But I also know that you want to show me off properly now that we’ve got things really settled.” You murmured and he grinned back unabashedly.

It was still an uphill battle, but he’d given you a lot to think about. And after gentle convincing, you’d found an LGBT friendly therapist who helped you process your thoughts. It helped you come to terms with accepting the toxic relationship that you’d been in but also it highlighted how beneficial Calum had been as a friend and confidant.

It also gave you the courage to ask Calum out officially, wanting to be with him entirely and not just in the evenings.

He took that in his stride and things shifted once more between the two of you. When you opened up to him about some of your sessions, you knew that your trust had been well placed because he never indicated anything to his friends and so you were never subjected to pitying stares or glares.

You were almost sure that you’d fall in love with him faster than you fell for Poppy.

The drive to Luke’s was filled with your nerves. You hadn’t seen Luke in years and you were also meeting his two other friends, Ashton and Michael as well as their partners.

“Ashton’s excited to finally meet you and stop telling me to be careful when I go to yours.”

Despite Calum living with Ashton, your schedules never seemed to match and more often than not, Calum could be found at your place, a small sanctuary from your hectic lives.

Ashton never begrudged that time you shared together, but Calum had mentioned a few times about how snappy he was being on the subject.

“He’ll chill when he realises I’m not out to break your heart or steal something.” You muttered with a chuckle. Calum snorted in return as he pulled into Luke’s driveway.

Your nerves return full force as he pulls you to the front door and steps in like he lives there.

“Hey fuckers, anyone about?” He called through and was met with calls of confirmation, another yell following that they were in the dining room. Your fingers squeezed Calum’s tightly and he didn’t hesitate to return it, his thumb soothing across the skin on the back of your hand.

“Look who it is!” A voice crowed loudly as he stepped into the dining room, followed by loud calls of greetings.

There was a flurry of introductions and you felt like the spotlight was being shone on you, under scrutiny from his best friends gazes once they had greeted their friend and Calum had introduced you. Or re-introduced you in Luke’s case.

“Well c’mon, the last time I saw you we were leaving school. What’s been happening to you?” Luke finally asked, indicating to the seat next to him. A small smile graced your lips as you sat down, Calum falling into the seat next to you as you shrugged.

“Life I guess? It’s been definitely more interesting with the different jobs and moving about. Building up a social life again.” Luke’s face filled with a frown at that.

Michael came in next.

“Building up a social life? Did you not have one?” His words held an innocent curiosity, yet you felt yourself hesitate.

“My ex was controlling to the point that I couldn’t do anything without their permission. They managed to make me believe that no one really wanted me around and I lost touch with old friends, like Luke.” You glanced to the side and he was frowning.

The others held varying degrees of stunned shock or disapproval.

“Well then he was a cunt.” Michael muttered and your eyes refused to meet theirs at the assumptions. Luke stayed quiet but his hand rested on your knee, squeezing it. You shot him a gentle smile in return.

“Well it’ll be good to have you back in our lives. Especially with these two knuckleheads.” He nodded at Ashton and Michael who immediately protested and you laughed.

It felt like you’d known them for years as you all had a few shots. Ashton, despite being the owner of the bar, wasn’t worried about turning up with his friends. He’d already explained to his staff that he’d be around for the rest of the night once he arrived and he’d told the small groups he’d be here and there.

After a handful of shots, the group of you made your way to the bar, your arm linked with Calum’s. There were separate conversations happening between you all, their girlfriends including you on their pamper night whilst the boys discussed a possible games night for all of you.

When you arrived at the club, you saw the queue of people waiting to get in and the subsequent groans from the line as the bouncer let you in, no questions asked.

Ashton guided the group of you to the VIP section and the music was still loud but you could still hear each other talking. You were chatting away with Luke’s girlfriend, arm still linked with Calum’s as Ashton disappeared to get drinks.

Calum pulled your attention away briefly, his lips by your ear.

“I’ve spotted her. She’s not seen us yet so don’t worry.” You barely nodded, acknowledging his words as you listened in, fighting to keep your nerves down.

The night continued and you were all a few drinks deep. Calum’s arm had barely left your waist all night as you talked and danced and drank. You’d been welcomed into his group of friends with an ease you never realised existed.

You’d deliberately not tried to seek out Poppy, silently praying that the universe would comply. But as the group of you stood out in the smokers area, huddled together under a heating lamp, your stomach sank as she stepped out, her eyes narrowing on you.

“Fuckin’ knew it!” You could feel the alarm in your face as you stepped back into Calum, his arm going around you protectively.

“Poppy, you’re drunk.” You felt curious gazes from your new friends, but you didn’t spare them a glance.

“You break up with me and go running to his arms, I knew you weren’t a fuckin lesbian. Pretending to try it out? Just another straight girl seeking attention. Fucking freak.” She snapped and your stomach sank.

“Get it through your thick head that she’s bisexual.” Calum snapped in your defence, earning a glare from Poppy. But Calum didn’t shrink from the glare, your glance to his face confirmed he was giving her his own. You were mildly impressed that she didn’t back down instantly.

“She’s a fuckin liar! Years of my life wasted on this bitch.” She spat at your feet and you took in a deep breath.

“You don’t get to control me anymore, Poppy. I’ve liked both men and women, but you never liked that because it meant that I had more chances of leaving you. And I wished I’d have left you sooner. Calum certainly thought so.”

“Of course you fucked the first man to pay you any attention.” Your heart sank once more at her declaration and you felt your mind fall into the old trap that you’d fought with for so long.

“No she never. In fact she slept with a few girls long before she slept with me. But I was her best friend as she tried to deal with the mess you created in her mind.” Calum snapped back. You felt your heart swell for him.

Poppy stepped forward, her hand raised but then Ashton stepped in front of you.

“Get out. You’re no longer welcome in this bar.” He made a gesture and security slowly made their way over.

“She shouldn’t be fucking welcome!” Poppy yelled back, but Ashton held firm.

“She is my friend. You are not. Get. Out.” When the bouncer rested a hand on her arm, she shrugged it off and stormed away. Your entire body was trembling.

“So that was the ex, huh?” Michael commented and you could feel your hands trembling as you nodded. “Why didn’t you correct me?” Calum spoke up for you as his hands took yours.

“It’s been a battle for her. Poppy had convinced her she was a lesbian, that she was wrong for having any attraction to men. In Poppy’s world, either your gay, lesbian or straight. Being bisexual isn’t acceptable in her eyes.” Calum’s arms wrapped around you and you stood there, holding onto him for dear life.

“Well that makes two of us then.” Michael’s casual comment had your knees go weak and you let out a weak laugh.

“Thank you Ash.” You finally murmured when you pulled away from Calum. Ashton didn’t hesitate to wrap his arms around you in a warm hug that was both comforting and reassuring.

“Hey, you’ve been the best thing for my best mate. And you were friends with Luke once before. I’ve definitely got your back. And I get why you didn’t say anything and don’t hold that against you.” He muttered and you breathed a sigh of relief before returning to Calum’s embrace.

“More drinks or are we gonna go back to Luke’s?” And you shook your head.

“Let’s stay. I’m not gonna let her ruin it,” you leaned forwards so your lips were by his ear as the others went inside, “also I want to see if we can christen the bar in one of the toilets.” You breathed. Calum groaned as his grip around you got tighter and he pulled you in for a kiss that promised more.

“Oh you’re so fucked sweetheart. Especially since I know where the individual lips are and they aren’t attended by anyone.” You held back a moan at that thought before pulling away, your hand in his.

“Dance first?” And the innocence in your tone made him laugh as he followed behind you willingly.

“Menace.” The term was laced with affection as he caught up to you, kissing the spot just below your ear.

You simply grinned in return as you pulled him onto the dance floor, Poppy long forgotten as he danced with you.

Oh that's definitely Kara, if I compliment him he might cry- which is ok! I appreciate it since he knows he can tell me stuff, yknow? I think he helps me be a little more...emotional sometimes, I have a hard time with it lmao.

mist - how does your f/o help you out when you’re feeling lost?

He thinks big, soul searching trips with musical accompaniment help. With him as the musical accompaniment? I don't really mind. It's always nice spending time with him even if we end up going halfway across the world and not finding anything. ["At least we had eachother." He would probably say, looking off into the distance. And then I'd laugh and kiss his face bc I love him.]

stars - what kind of a date would your f/o take you on?

A romantic one most definitely. Any type of...hallmark, cheesy, christmas romcom style date he could do? He would. A lot of the time they're just picnic dates or walks, he can't afford some of the stuff he wants to do haha. But it's ok, I appreciate it nonetheless.

apple - do you and your f/o cook together? what do you make?

Oh god more like HE cooks for us Mr. World-Class Chef. I'm moreso handing him stuff half the time, not in a bad way, he just has so much fun cooking for me, saying it's just one of those ways to appreciate everything I do for him- I stg he spoils me sometimes.

dove - what kind of wedding would you and your f/o have?

I dunno! I've never really thought about marriage...I'm sure he has- though I've never really asked.

Relaxing, he usually comes over and we sit on the couch n'watch movies or just listen to music!

He makes sure he's near me 24/7 to make sure I'm alright and I end up kicking him out for a hot minute. With him, I'm there but also keeping my distance so I don't get sick myself haha- he can be so dramatic about it too...I love him.

fawn - do you and your f/o play video games together? which ones?

YEAH we tend to play super chill ones because stuff like Smash or Mario Kart gets us both feeling...a little pissy and competitive. So Stardew Valley is a big one! He likes to entertain the thought of moving out and just vibing. I think its valid, I wanna do the same thing.

peaches - how did you and your f/o meet?

OH ok so like I met him at the park! Actually it was really funny he was leaning on the bridge acting all cool n'shit- I really only noticed him bc he looked...exactly like Oso. And I could tell it wasn't him, he looked too cool. I figured it must have been one of his brothers- JUST realized I hadn't even met any of them before this. So I decided to put my big boy pants on and say hi. He got so startled that I was actually talking to him that he fell off...of the bridge. I couldn't really help him so I kinda just panicked and waited for him to get out. Praying for him to get out actually. But it went pretty smoothly after that! Introductions were made and I told him his jacket was cool and he started to compliment me from hell and back. It was nice.

No, I don't. You gotta build relationships in my opinion. Kara does tho! I think it's cute.

Luke’s not sure when it started

Somewhere between Ashton’s bored of his own clothes and Calum spilt cereal on Ashton’s suitcase probably

Luke didn’t mind borrowing Ashton some of his clothes

Mostly because Luke always over-packed aF

And Ashton in Luke’s clothes??

Luke is unsure if there was anything better than that

Ashton looks like a God

In Luke’s clothes it’s almost like it’s Luke’s God

Well, at least that’s what he wants to believe

The best thing tho is that Ashton seems to prefer Luke’s clothes

Luke’s not sure when he started wearing Ashton’s clothes that the other guys’

It was proved one day too

Calum offered Ashton his hoodie, but Ashton declined and took Luke’s instead

Luke may, or may not, have grinned the entire day because of that.

Ok. He definitely did.

Probably from the time Ashton was wearing Luke’s hoodie, which Luke was gonna wear mind you

“I’ll just take one of your shirts,” Luke had mumbled.

“Take this babe,” Ashton replied tossing something.

Luke straight out died from the nickname.

So, when Luke finally confesses it isn’t super romantic or anything Luke imagined

It goes more like

“Hey Ash, I love you.”

“I love you too Luke, you’re a good friend.”

(Ashton’s too scared to interpret it differently.)

“I meant as in romantically.”

“Oh. Oh!”

“I love you too, Luke.”

“Romantically?”

And maybe it’s a bit messy, the kiss certainly is, but Luke wouldn’t have it any other way

"NO REGRETS" they didnt see each other for a bit after that but once saw him again to fight amon and noticed that he knew sirius, went up to sirius the next day like "dude i didnt know you had friends outside the army, ANYWAYS WHO IS HE?" honestly blessed sirius for being her wingman after the battle with amon but DIDNT LIKE SIRIUS when harr and she was actually dating and he would try to give him pick up lines or somethin, this boy, she flirts with him a whole bunch, she acts all smooth about it and stuff but once shes done with like two sentences she makes weird giddy noises with her face red matching harrs, harr does anything "YOUR DOING GREAT SWEETIE" harr once made her a flower crown and she may or totally did cry, took her a little bit to say i love you like mousie she wanted it to be romantic and jazz but she probably said it while huggin him like "i love you so much" they both froze loki"OMG IT TOOK YOU LONG ENOUGH TO SAY IT OM-" totally knew when he was proposing cause of either loki and also how can you not he asked her out for a date and he was fidgiting for every second of it, THEY BOTH CRIED WHEN HE PROPOSED, the next day SHE NYOOMED OVER TO HER BROTHER BUT COULDNT GET A SINGLE DANG WORD OUT SO SHE KINDA WAS JUST THERE FACE RED TEARS STREAKING DOWN LIKE "ISAFEFYOUAINTKGOLSAFNANDHE DIKFILOVEEE HIMOGSG"

Loki: "oh hes kinda clingy but i guess hes kinda neet" after noticing that hes basically harrs son "OH F ME" kinda warmed up to him one day when she was laying with harr sge kinda was just like " your son- i mean loki is a constant on heat cat" loud coughing Red Army:

Blanc: "hey can i have an other slice of the carrot cake its really good!" blanc"????" oliver".... she cant visit no more" boom thats their relationship

Lancelot kingsley: After all that she and it was actuallly amon who was behind everything her reacting kinda was like "oh dang, OK COME HERE LET ME SHOW SOME LOVE" honestly just wants to be friends with him from all the burdens he had are they friends now? "more like acquaintances but im working on it!, sirius and sometimes harr are helping me on trying to help him open up"

Jonah clemence: ok so if she was going to try friending lance shes gonna HAVE to be on the good side with jonah, brought him macaroons from mousies cafe and told him she knows luka and so that was a good start, she sometimes gifts him lukas desserts. are they friends? Zero: "ok what the heck happened to you so i know who to murder-" actually started to warm up to edgar when she noticed that he was friends with zero, asked if she can pick him up, it didnt work, asked if he can pick her up, DID WORK, when she was in the dumps cause mousie had work zero gave her a lolipop, ".. omg your a treasure too.." Zero"what?"

Black Army:

Ray blackwell: CAPE BUDDIES! actually really looks up to him and thinks hes super cool! she joined a a few months before him, totally talked to him like a kid but when he became king she kinda was like "Crap waIT WHAT?" asks (she begs) if he can take her when he sees the ally cats, they bond over the kats, though she finds it annoying when they shed on her black cape

Sirius oswald: "who ever thinks im kats dad raise your hand- KAT PUT YOUR HAND DOWN" they knew each other in school, or more like she saw him when they were in school and she just stared at his bangs that looked like they were cut with a lawn mower IMSORRY, shes either on his side defending him from the brats like a proud mother hen, or she is the brat, shes like "no thats not smart" next day shes doing that thing, sirius is on edge around her just cause she can turn on him whenever she feels like it either shes on his side or not lol

Luka clemence: thought he was a girl "wow your really pretty." turns out hes a guy " WOW YOUR A REALLY PRETTY GUY" took a while for them to actually become friends but they got there! praises his cooking/desserts like if its the best thing on this planet COUGH it is COUGH, she gets up around the same time as luka does just so she can make it to the hq on time for breakfast, sometimes asks if they can spar if she catches him training.

This is probably before they actually get together, after they’ve met tho. This is probably trash but I love these kids so much so idc

Ash is getting changed into something a little more appropriate for work, it's not that they would care if she showed up in her jeans and shirt, but if you want tips, you gotta do a little more work.

Honey’s on her bed smoking a cigarette, she didn't really ask for permission, at least she opened the window in advance. Ash doesn’t really know why she’s here, honey just knocked on her door and made a cup of tea, it’s something that’s been happening for a while now. She’s wearing the clothes she always looks so goddamn good in, Levi’s with her the velvet underground shirt and a leather jacket. It looks so effortless, her hair’s all messed up and spread all over the bed, and ash can’t help but smile over her peacefulness. Honey’s a pretty intense person, and yet she seems so serene there, on her bed, it makes her feel something she’s never felt before.

It’s been like this for a few months now, after that somewhat strange night they met, honey’s overcome her crush, which she still doesn’t admit to, and Roger’s somehow forgot he was actually into ash. She’s okay with it, no more idiotic pickup lines is nice at least, though he still tries when she sees him after their shows. Honey continued to come to her bar, not only when the boys are playing, and Ash is kind of thankful for it. The bar can be lonely when there’s nobody you know, and having her around always feels, right. Honey’s still as mysterious as the first time she saw her, but ash is glad she is, honey’s not honey without her mystique.

Ash is kind of okay changing in front of Honey, its not that strange, and honey’s not even really looking at her. Instead, she’s closed her eyes and humming along to the song she put on the record player, Ash doesn't know it, its one of Honey obscure bands she seems to have a lifetime supply of.

‘‘Have you ever kissed a girl?’‘ Honey asks, and it's like a bullet through glass, if glass were to be the hazy afternoon peacefulness they were surrounded with. Ash doesn't get why she’s so distraught by it, After all, honey says this kind of shit often, and yet there's some panic she can't quite explain. Honey seems chill, not realizing how her words affected Ash.

''I don't think so.'' Ash answers carefully, to be honest, she doesn't really remember, there were some very drunk nights she came pretty damn close, as far as she can remember. ''You have?''

''Yeah, I think I made out with a blonde in the alley next to the Rover, but it could've been Rog.'' She grins, and it makes Ash laugh. Honey's good at that, going from making people uncomfortable to at ease in a matter of seconds. It certainly gives Ash more stability, gaining her confidence back by climbing onto the bed to lay next to her. Honey gives her her cigarette, and she takes a drag as Honey pushes the loose strands out of Ash's face. Neither of them realize how intimate it actually is, though the warm feeling in Ash's chest she's had since Honey made her way into her bedroom spreads even further.

''So, you like.... girls?'' Ash asks, it's quiet, almost unhearable for someone who wasn't as close as Honey now was.

''yeah.'' Honey smiles, and it's truly the softest thing ash's ever seen. it doesn't last long though, Honey's already babbling on.

''Well, not just girls.'' She sighs, there's a little bit of frustration and panic on her face, which is surprising for her, she usually doesn't show it, if she even feels it. ''I just- I just think you should fuck whoever you want to fuck, date whoever you want to date and kiss whoever you want to kiss, y'know?'' she turns to look ash in her eyes, and she can see the panic of ''please be okay with this'' in Honey's. ''but like, with permission.'' she chuckles, making an ''obviously'' hand gesture.

Ash smiles at her, this whole thing, honey's whole thing, seemed to make a lot more sense. She doesn't know what it means, or more what it means to her, but honey's already putting her shoes back on, singing the last few lines to the song she loved so much.

McXeen Headcanons

I really wanted to write some McXeen but have no energy to write any actual fics or anything so I gathered up a bunch of headcanon posts and just THREW THEM TOGETHER TO MAKE THE GREAT MCXEEN HEADCANON LIST:

THERE’S A LOT OF THEM AND THIS IS LONG SO READMORE

Who kills the bugs - McCree. Though most of the time I will ask him to gently catch the bugs and release them back outside. Who hogs the sheets - BOTH ARE GUILTY but we make up for it by aggressively cuddling with the perpetrator Who hates mornings - Both of us are not a big fan of them. We stay in bed as long as we physically can. Who’s cranky before they had their coffee - Me. McCree can handle conversation but I just straight up communicate in groans and sighs. Who’s doesn’t like their mother in law - I don’t I guess? She’s not around and I’m angry who would leave their good son like that. Who drives - McCree because I’m scared of driving T~T Who gets horny in awkward public places - MCCREE AND IT’S A TIME Who had a scene phase - ME and McCree teases me about it weekly Who wore braces - Me, but he thinks that the pictures of me with braces are really cute Who got bullied. - Me and ho boy did it fuck me up. McCree is protective of me because of it and warns me when he thinks people are taking advantage of me. Who collects ceramic elephants. - Neither of us but seeing them in stores is cute

how did they first kiss? - the overwatch base was attacked, a job from the inside that put the area on lockdown. I was locked down in the area with the bad guys, aggressively hiding and avoiding them at any cost. McCree tore through the area and helped shut down the threat with worry that they had hurt me. When he found out I was safe, he was so relieved he kissed me and I kissed back. who flirts more? - McCree because I have the flirting experience of a rock and he loves to see me flustered how did the relationship start? - officially after we kissed for the first time? There was a lot of back and forth unsureness before both of us decided to sit down and talk about it and admit that, hey, we’d like to try something a bit long term that might be good for both of us how did they start living together? do they move? how do they choose the place? - We both live on the watchpoint, so, no moving really. The only moving is, eventually, me just moving into McCree’s room do they have roommates? - Nah, just the two of us! Between us it’s plenty easy to split what we need to do do they get married (or equivalent)? - Marriage is kind of a scary commitment for both of us, but, we like to imagine it someday. It may never happen, but, you don’t need marriage to be in love you know? do they have kids? - In some AUs we do! But in the main universe nah, kids are hard to raise when you’re vigilantes helping out a dangerous uprising organization do they have pets? - I OWN A BETTA FISH OR TWO OR THREE and I want a cat but, again, no time to care for it. I treat my fish like dogs tho honestly do they act different in public and at home? - I do. McCree likes to stay honestly through his time and days but sometimes I just get tired and don’t like to show people in public what I’m really feeling. McCree can coax it out of me sometimes though big spoon/little spoon? - McCree as Big Spoon and Xeen as Little Spoon sleeping habits? - I go to bed a bit later than McCree, but we both tend to sleep in until the same time. We fall asleep separate but always somehow wake up with our limbs and bodies tangled up, which means great morning cuddles before we have to get up ;v; favorite non-sexual activity? - Dancing! what habits of the other drives them crazy? - McCree sometimes forgets to clean ash trays or take his cigarillos out of the room when he’s done with them and I probably drive him nuts by always doing whatever people ask of me? He’s like ‘stand up for yourself please’ once in a while how often do they fight? - not often! we try to communicate as best we can, and usually fights are just ‘oh I misheard your/didn’t understand what you were saying’ most trivial thing they fight over? - which one of us has to bring the cups from our room back into the kitCHEN who uses all the hot water? - ME I DO AND MCCREE GIVES UP on the upside he uses it an excuse to get in the shower with me who does most of the cleaning? - I DO! Cleaning relaxes me from time to time and gives me something to do, so I never mind doing most of it what do they watch on tv and do they fight for the remote? who calls up the super/landlord when the heat’s not working? - McCree because phone’s stress me out who answers the phone? - Both of us depending on whose closest to the phone at the moment :o who steals the blankets? - MCCREE AND IT FORCES ME TO GO OVER AND CUDDLE HIM SO I’M P SURE HE DOES IT ON PURPOSE who remembers things? - We both remember little things here and there honestly, it’s a shared job who does the groceries? - I do! When he’s free, McCree will come with me but mostly I tend to go alone, which neither of us mind because I know exactly what to get us both, and sometimes come back with snacks and tears for others who cooks normally? - ME I don’t let McCree near a stove unless its the sole purpose of bacon and eggs. No other food is allowed. I cook better anyways who leaves their stuff lying everywhere? - Both of us are SO GUILTY ABOUT THIS we trip over one another’s things all the time but we don’t bother scolding each other about it because we know the other has ammunition to retort what kind of stuff can be found around their place? - Bullets, old western movies, art history books, a lot of different phone and computer chargers, anime cups, and art supplies are usually littered around our place! what do their cupboards or shelves look like? - we have our designated cupboards for all the cups, plates, sliverware, etc. All of the pots and pans go in the stove though because look it’s just a thing I did as a kid and I think Gabe did it and it rubbed off on McCree and it’s a think ok don’t judge us- what does their closet(s) look like? - MESSY. Half of our clothes aren’t even in the closet they’re on the floor near the laundry hamper because neither of us like to hang things up what do they do when they’re away from each other? - I usually end up doing work for hours on end, just throwing myself into it and sometimes reading? I text him if he’s on a mission or doing something dangerous. He probably just naps, reads, or goes out to talk with some of his other friends on the watchpoint too! do they have nicknames or pet names for each other? - MCCREE HAS SO MANY TOO MANY FOR ME I call him ‘cowboy’ and ‘loverboy’ affectionatley but that’s it. who is more likely to pay for dinner? - McCree and honestly I’m so cheap I’m not even complaining if he wants to I’m down. how often do they go on dates? - As often as we can! When he’s not on a mission and not injured/exhausted from said mission we’ll try to go out together. Both of us like going out and feel weird being cooped up in an area for too long (though we won’t deny the occasional at-home date) typical date night? out or at home? - Out! McCree and I get antsy when we’re in one place for too long. We like to move and explore and spend time together! do they celebrate birthdays, valentine’s day, anniversaries? - If we can, not in a fancy or big way though. McCree might request it off and so would I, so we can just spend the night being together and cuddling and stuff! We both know that we won’t always be free for it, but we know that a date doesn’t measure our love for one another. what would they get each other for gifts? - I’M SO BAD AT GIFTS I WOULDN’T KNOW WHERE TO START. A Clint Eastwood box set of DvDs and some new cigarillos and a cool lighter maybe? He’d get me something sappy like flowers or a cute new dress or some blankets for our bed ;//; how do they spend christmas and new year’s (or equivalent family gatherings)? - Same kind of as anniversary and stuff. Again, work won’t always let us be free on those days, but if we do get a chance we settle in, exchange gifts and kisses, and appreciate one another who cusses more? - ODDLY ENOUGH ME? McCree cusses a fair amount, sure, but he has like. The Southern censorship to his words that doesn’t actually exist in anywhere but spaghetti western accents. I, on the other hand, add ‘fuck’ as a filler word and trail off going ‘fucking.....fuck....’ so liKE. I WIN. what would they do if the other one was hurt? - Did you mean every other day for us. If McCree was hurt I’d fret over him and patch him up as best I can, or take him to Angela if it’s too serious! I’d be by his side the entire time though. If I was hurt? He’d pick me up and take me to Angela right away before hunting down whoever hurt me honestly- what are little gestures they do for each other? - McCree sweetens my coffee in the morning for me if he wakes up before me, or gives my hair a gentle ruffle before kissing my forehead when he goes out on missions to reassure me ;//;. I will gently bump his shoulder or make him his favorite meal when he’s home so he can eat and just fall asleep after a mission. do they know how the other takes their coffee/tea? - Yep! McCree takes it as black as the depths of the damn ocean and he knows that I absolutely drown mine in sugar and sweetener. Any offer for one of us to try the other’s coffee is automatically declined do they feel they see each other enough, or do they have activities that take too much of their time? - It’s a mixed feeling. Sometimes I get worried we don’t see each other enough, and I guess sometimes he worries too. We talk about it though, because missions are missions. Heroes never stop working, I guess, but we spend as much time as we can together for sure! do they friend/follow each other on facebook/tumblr/livejournal/skype/etc? - ABSALOUTELY. When McCree is away we skype or talk together as much as we can when its safe ;v; (added) morning routine? - McCree wakes up first, makes coffee, and wakes me up if I”m running late. I wake up, kiss him, grumble until I have my coffee, and then he always lets me take a shower first ;//; When I do I come out and he takes one, and then we just eat breakfast and hug for a really really long time until we have to go our separate ways for our job. how do they make up after a fight? - Fights are rare, and we usually know that they’re caused by one of us being careless or miscommunicative. If i’m upset, McCree will come in and apologize to me and we’ll talk it out, and he’ll hug me and let me pick the movie out we watch later ;v; and he’ll get me ice cream to sweeten the deal. If he’s the upset one, I’ll go and apologize the same and talk, and still hug him. He gets the movie pick if that’s the case
