You know I think one of my favorite things about Cinder is simply the fact that he's an elemental master with an element that we really didn't get to see a lot of before. And I mean, a lot of the elements from before are ones we haven't seen much from simply because there wasn't a lot of screentime they could feasibly give to the other elemental masters, but I just find it cool that now we have a much more important character with a previously underutilized element that we're able to see in action more.

KH and its storytelling

I feel like a lot of fans are looking at Kingdom Hearts in a very specific way. That is: judging everything that happens after KH1 through the lens of KH1.

Example: The Destiny trio. We are introduced to Sora, Riku and Kairi as a trio of friends. You can see things are strained between them, but they're still shown as a trio. And that's pretty much the last time they properly interact like this. Therefore, it is seen as a fault of the writers for not SHOWING us the moments when they're hanging out together, being friends. It's simply seen as something that is skipped over - not deemed important enough to be shown.

And, hear me out, I propose that this is a bad approach, actually. The Kingdom Hearts saga is a story. A story that is yet incomplete. A story that's trying to tell us something.

We are shown other trios of friends - those who actually behave like a trio of friends. Have you considered that... if we don't see Riku and Kairi interacting much at all unless Sora is involved... it's simply because they aren't really friends? That they only ever hung out because Kairi was friends with Sora.. and Riku was friends with Sora?

There are a lot of other things like this. But you wouldn't read the first chapter in a book and then judge the rest of the book for saying different things than the first chapter, right? (I hope you wouldn't!!) To provide insight, to subvert expectations... you first need to set things up. You need a baseline. Then you can start giving the crumbs that make you eventually go "oh, I think things are different than they first seemed". But some of you don't think this way and instead get angry at the writers for... telling a story?

KH is a saga. KH is an unfinished story, not a "KH1 plus some extras that are poorly written anyway".

TLDR; Consider accepting the story for what it is, not judging it for something you want it to be. For the latter, you have fanfiction.

update on my mcd rewatching journey! i finished all of it!! here have another out of context note from season 2 lol

i loved the series and it was great but i also feel like a lot of the characters were really messed up near the end and bits of the lore was kinda inconsistent so it bothered me a bit, but i was mostly upset about how a lot of characters end up being ooc at a lot of points (at least in my opinion). i would say more but uh. i don't wanna ramble too long...but i'll put some stuff in the tags cuz why not

i will say personally my least favorite season is probably season 3 because of both the time skip and a lot of other factors that personally bothered me. i still wish it was actually finished though :(

It's amazing how easily music can flip a switch in my brain lol maybe detrimental to my inspiration but what can ya do!

I have playlists for AUs so I have this one inspired by Vicious by Bohnes where Prowl is a dancer at the Cybertronian equivalent of a strip club. He loves it. He's a bad bitch that will absolutely fuck you up if you piss him off.

Here comes Jazz, he can't afford the club but he's a sneaky fucker. He's great at pickpocketing! He sees Prowl up there working the pole and is instantly smitten. He needs a night with this mech!

So he hits up the bartender, and of course it's Swerve. I love him so much and thought it would be cute if he and cunty Prowl were Amica. So Jazz is trying to get the deets on that sexy dancer and Swerve looks him up and down and is just... Shakes his head with an apologetic smile "She (I like the idea Prowl is gender fluid/non binary) will eat you up and spit you out, mech"

No one ever listens to Swerve though, despite the fact he's never wrong when it comes to Prowl. Jazz is no exception lol

Here comes Prowl, completely ignores Jazz as he tries to say hi like a love struck teenager, and plants a kiss on Swerve's cheek! Then, shoots a glare at Jazz and asks, "He bothering you?"

Jazz sputters "Wha-? So that's how it is? You coulda just said he's already taken-"

Prowl cuts him off with a scowl "What?”

"Sorry sweetspark, this mech's pining for ya. Tried to scare 'em off... But you know how they get," Swerve sighs.

"You're making him seem like a psycho!" Jazz squawks.

Prowl smiles wickedly, flashing fangs. "Maybe I am..." He grabs Jazz and kisses him fiercely, biting his lip in the process before shoving him away.

Lip bleeding, Jazz stumbles in a daze.

"You should run along now, little mech," Prowl purrs, watching Jazz like a predator. Oh he would absolutely devour this cute little mech. He could definitely ruin his life...

"Jazz, 'm Jazz. Do you uh... Take shanix for a uh, ya know..." Jazz asks with only a slight warble to his tone.

"Honey, I don't think you can afford me," Prowl smirks, looking him up and down again.

"H-how much for a night?"

"A night?!" Swerve cuts in. "You can't be-"

Prowl states his rates. (It's a lot)

Jazz deflates, knees nearly giving out. But he straightens up with a look of determination. "I-I can get it! I can! I'll be back!" He grins confidently and takes an abrupt leave.

Swerve just shakes his head. "Poor kid has no idea what he's getting into..."

"Mmm... He's quite adorable," Prowl's tongue dances over his fangs.

"You are a cruel mistress," Swerve chuckles.

Jazz manages to scrounge up the shanix. Even enough to get himself cleaned up before he returns. He's absolutely NOT prepared for the danger that comes with wheedling his way into Prowl's life. While Jazz is far from being a saint and has no compunction against engaging in illegal activities, Prowl is on an entirely different level.

One of these days, I will write this fic! I literally started conceptualizing it uuuuh, according to my discord notes, 09/20/2023! A year tomorrow lmao

According to Akutagawa – who told Chuuya, who told Dazai – Atsushi was always warm.

And it wasn’t that he always felt warm; he physically was a naturally warm person. Perfect for cuddles, according to Dazai – who told Chuuya, who told Akutagawa, and now the mafioso hadn’t spoken to him for three days.

But that was beside the point.

The point was, the Armed Detective Agency office was freezing today, and Dazai had it on good authority that their resident weretiger was the perfect solution.

“Atsushiiiii,” he called to the younger man, having followed him out of the office and to the lockers when the weretiger was about to go to lunch.

He pretended to miss the way Atsushi tensed up with anticipation at his call. It was like he used that tone of voice every time he was going to play a prank or something.

“Y-Yeah, Dazai?” Atsushi asked.

Deciding to really throw the young man off his game, Dazai flopped into him, wrapping his arms around him in a hug rather than say another word.

Atsushi froze again, but for a different reason this time. He seemed shocked, even as his arms came up to return the gesture.

“Dazai?” he asked in a gentler voice. “Is something wrong—AHA!!”

The brunette grinned as Atsushi began to wiggle in his arms, soft giggles spilling from his lips thanks to his fingers digging into his sides. “I’m so cold! Warm me up, Atsushi~”

“Ehehehehehehe, Dahahahahazai!” the weretiger whined, managing to squirm away for a split second before being drawn back into his boss’ tickly clutches, this time with his back to his chest so Dazai could reach around and scribble at his tummy. “EHEHEHEHEHEHE, NOHOHOHOHOHO!!”

“But you’re so warm! You’re like a personal heating pad,” Dazai teased, hugging him closer. “I just want to warm up.”

“Gehehehehehet a real heheheheheheating pad, thehehehehen! I hahahahahave to go – EEEK NOHOHOHOHO NOT THEHEHEHEHERE!!”

Dazai hummed as though confused, though the both of them knew he knew exactly what he was doing, wiggling a finger into Atsushi’s belly button like that. “I’m sure Akutagawa wouldn’t mind waiting a couple extra minutes. Stay and warm me up first, Atsushiiii~”

The poor weretiger ended up arriving at his lunch date with Akutagawa pink-faced and still a little giggly, and having to explain why he’d been tardy.

Akutagawa wasn’t surprised in the least.

Oh my god, this is such a tough question!!

Since I've essentially barely touched (or not at all yet) the other campaigns, I'm basing this entirely off of Once Upon A Witchlight. I like all of the characters for many different reasons, but one thing I love about all of them, is how quick witted they are. Like more than 5 minutes without someone at the table laughing? Unheard of. These people know how to make each other laugh and I love them for that, and in turn it makes for such enjoyable characters, like I can't think of any one thing about any of these characters that I actively dislike at the moment.

That said, I'm pretty torn between my favourite being Gideon or Torbek 😅 Gideon because the hijinks he winds up in (often to only partial fault of his own), plus I'm a sucker for big bearded characters with a sick ass fighting style, and of course Mace's charm that shows through Gideon (that LAUGH). Also those chains??? Honestly didn't even know about them for a few episodes, cause they weren't really referenced until his performance at the big top and I hadn't really thought about them when I saw the official character art, but I'm absolutely OBSESSED with his backstory and how he uses them to fight now.

and then Torbek cause he's such a sad, traumatized little guy that I want to wrap in a blanket, every time they start to talk about what he went through and he just wants to shut down and not think about it? Protect this guy at all costs. Plus Andy is a smart guy playing a dumb character and it makes for some absolutely hilarious instances, and I absolutely adore his character voice, his manner of speaking and inflection is so great.

Spider anon here: my thought on why maybe people hate spiders so much could be.. well, they are inherently funky looking, same with most insect. we fall into trends and patterns in terms of animals, sure a big dog can be scary, but it has a normal amount of everrything... then come spiders and insects, several eyes and limbs, its a slap to the face in terms of what is expected of animals, Honestly, main reason i feel major discomfort at some spiders was due to me finding out about water tarantulas.. mainly seeing one while showering in asia. i know it couldnt hurt me in any major way, its just... man, on the water too? Spiders are marvelous things, i just know i would just evaporate instantly if a big / jumping spider got close to me-

I mean, yeah! I would understand that to some extent! But I feel like there's more than just inherent uncanny-ness that's causing the fear, right?

I dunno. I just know that when I'm out with the tarantulas at outreach events and we offer to let people hold them, the question I get most often is "will it bite me/has it ever bitten anyone?" and I feel that extends beyond appearances, lmao

(And if you're wondering, only one of our tarantulas has ever bitten anyone, and it was due to being dropped and using her chelicerae/fangs to catch herself. So. Hskdgh)

But regardless, your reason for discomfort is valid!! I'm sure most people would be startled by Sudden Tarantula Appearance where Tarantula Should Not Be! You know it's not out to hurt you and that's a great first step!

But honestly, jumping spiders are the sweetest, most normalest, cutest little things ever. Your chances of getting bit by a jumping spider are like. Astronomically low. They are unbelievably disinterested in biting people. If you do ever want to get more used to being around spiders (which hey maybe you don't, and that's fine!) I 100% would recommend jumping spiders. They'll only hop on you if you want them too (they know you're alive, they won't jump on you if they think you'll hurt them!) and most they'll do is turn around and Look at you. They're just little Guys!

I know it's a process though, and one you don't have to take part in if you don't want to lmao. Appreciating from afar and keeping a respectful distance is awesome too!!! <3
