wish women’s fitness was more about boosting our energy and getting our bones and joints ready for our old age and getting strong enough to punch men and less about losing weight while getting a bigger ass

I’m so fat it’s hard to tie my shoes.
I’d rather admit to murder than utter the above sentence out loud. But it’s my truth.
I let myself slide back to nearly where I was when I started actually caring about myself. I don’t have a concrete reason why I let myself slide. It’s more like a tiramisu reason than concrete. One layer is depression, self loathing, laziness. I tried to say that because my weight wasn’t affecting my daily life it didn’t matter. But now I can’t hide behind that excuse.
Getting back to being healthy is somewhere between concentric circles and ripping off a bandaid. I have to start slow but at some point you have to start, you know?
THE POINT:
Today I exercised at the gym for 30 minutes. I had to push myself, but I did a 1.5 Miles and burned over 360 calories. Today I bought groceries with my health and my pleasure in mind. I haven’t won the war (and I never will) but today I won a battle.

Running is running. It hurts, but that’s all it does. The most difficult part of the training is training your mind. You build calluses on your feet to endure the road. You build calluses on your mind to endure the pain. There’s only one way to do that. You have to get out there and run.
