For those interested in keeping up with Árni, the former keyboard/accordion player for OMAM, here he is playing with the band Ojba Rasta on Icelandic TV. Interestingly, Steingrímur Teague, OMAM's current touring/session keyboard/according player, typically plays this role with Ojba Rasta. The band plays a couple of songs starting at around the 8.20 mark. Also featured are OMAM opening acts Lay Low and Mugison (the latter playing with his new supergroup, Drangar).

At the seat of the berg-bursting new Icelandic reggae scene are Hjálmar, a band from the small city of Keflavik that revivify the o.g. Kingston sound with solid instrumentals and well-placed modern midi-dub electronics.  Many other Icelanders dabble, including Ojba Rasta and at times the more internationally known Mugison, but Hjálmar seem to be the pioneers of this bizarre displacement - perhaps the forefront of 4th Wave ska?
