31. Do you read AUs?

YES AUs are my favorite kind of fics! I almost exclusively read AUs lol. I don’t read a lot of canon compliant fics in this fandom, mostly because they’re (understandably) angsty and I can’t deal with that :(

32. Favorite AU tropes?

So many??? Coffee Shop?? Meet cute??? COLLEGE YES. Modern AU is def my fave for mclennon, it’s so much fun!! Prison AUs??? I need a hundred. Also anything like domestic, friends to lovers (yaasssssss), fics where they’re a family/one of them is a dad :)

I also… um… I like mpreg. Just a bit. A bit lot. I’m SORRY lol

33. Least favorite AU tropes?

I hate with a burning passion when one of them is like a prostitute and the other wants to ‘save them’??? like?? it even feels wrong to write down now lol. I also hate when one of them is abused by a partner or family and the other one saves them and is a ‘hero’ and it’s like that’s the sole basis to their entire romance… ugh. AND sick fics. Like, not the ‘i have a cold and you take care of me’ fics, those are cute, but the ‘i got cancer and i’m gonna die in three months’ fics. I know there’s a mandatory one in like every fandom and that a lot of people love them but i just? cant? i feel like in a lot of cases w these fics people use the illness of the person solely as something to… induce (?) the angst. and then the romance. same as the two scenarios before, i guess. i just don’t like them lol i don’t like illness being used like that.

34. Do you like UAs (universe-alterations, when the main universe and characters are the same but one plot point/decision/outcome is altered)?

yes??? i love them??? and the mclennon fandom is lacking them :(

35. Do you like high school and college AUs?

high-school, no. i did like them when i was like 15 lol. now that i’m in college i like the college ones…i wonder if i’ll hate them in five years (i hope not! they’re the funniest)

36. Do you like crossovers? If so, favorite crossover?

i love them. i can’t think of a crossover fic in the mclennon fandom rn… but things i’d love: 1. harry potter crossover 2. oitbn 3. stranger things 4. the princess diaries?!?!?!1 give this to me?!!!! 4. x files can we have this john is totally mulder 5. disney!!!!

37. How do you feel about parent!fics/lovechildren? How about mpreg?

i love parent!fics i am writing one omg. and i like mpreg, but like it has to be very well written. i think i’ve read (not completely) like idk 6 or 7 mpregs these last few months and only enjoyed 1. so yeah. it’s hard to pull it off, i guess. i have wanted to write one for a while but don’t have the courage lol i think they can either come out so amazing that you suspend your disbelief or really, really cringey.

38. How do you feel about genderbending? De-aging? Animalizing?

i guess genderbending is where they change gender??? i have never read any of those “turned into a boy/girl overnight” fics. but i’m all in for the girl!fics where they’re just like, them but girls. i haven’t found any in the mclennon fandom though.

de-aging and animalizing just sound like… excuses for people to write things that probably are skirting on the edges of Not Right, or just plain Not Right lol. not into those at all.

39. Favorite AU fic?

tbh i haven’t read enough in this fandom to have a fave :( there aren’t many. most are canon compliant. i’ll answer this later if i think of one though :D
