Sanae scowled and bit her lower lip, staring down at the notebook page. She spun her pen around thumb and caught it, then turned it behind her middle finger and flicked it around her index, and caught it again. Behind some walls, Reimu and Marisa grumbled and argued about something while pots and pans clanged and sizzled.
“Writing?” Tsukasa asked, walking beside Sanae and sitting down, book in hand.
Sanae hummed. “Trying to!”
“Write them making out.”
“That was last chapter, though.” Sanae clicked the pen in her hand and drew a sharp line through her last sentence. And suddenly, Tsukasa perked up, her ears straightening to attention.
“Hm? Is something wrong?”
“Uh, no I-”
Sanae clicked her pen shut and closed her notebook around it, saving her place. And again, Tsukasa leaned forward a bit and her tail flicked.
“Hmm?”
Tsukasa sort of blinked up at Sanae.
“Oh!” Sanae laughed heartily and grabbed her pen once more. “Really? This noise works too?” She clicked it open, and Tsukasa gave an excited pant. “Ok, sit.”
It was quiet for a moment. “Uh, Sanae I’m already sitting down.”
“Then roll over. Do a barrel roll!”
Tsukasa smiled and rolled onto her back so she was looking up at Sanae, clumpy hair spread around her head like a halo.
“Good fox!” Sanae said, clicking the pen closed and petting her hair. “Wanna have sex?”
Tsukasa blinked. “Here at the Hakurei Shrine?”
“Mhm!” Sanae nodded. “Not like Marisa’ll care, and it’s nothing Reimu and her haven’t done right in the middle of parties.”
“Yeah. Can I uh- can I hear the pen a couple more times?”
Sanae answered yes by clicking the pen open.

Obsessed with the red barrel of oil positioned behind Eddie as he sits in a yellow chair with a blue pole behind him and has a conversation about what makes a father and what does and doesn't make a man weak.
The colour coding is off the charts in this scene - its next level good.
Red is the colour of fathers in 911 - we see it on the various fathers on the show all the time at critical moments connected to their parenthood. and its a barrel of oil - sitting behind Eddie - its a literal metaphor for Ramon - his father who works in the oil industry. (and just to prove the colour choice was intentional - there are blue barrels of oil inside the workshop - that Eddie walks past.
Oil is made from dinosaurs and the show has been using the oil/dinosaur metaphor since season 2 to represent outdated beliefs or behaviours. Oil is also toxic. So that barrel of oil that represents Ramon and his toxic views of masculinity (which Ramon talks about with Eddie in 517) being over Eddies shoulder. But its also behind him and set slightly away - suggesting that Eddie is moving away from that oppressive presence.
The blue column is also interesting because it is right at his back -- not off to the side - but centrally behind him and closer than the barrel - its a literal and metaphorical pillar of strength - having his back - the implication being that Buck - who always has Eddies back - is providing his strength and support without actually being there.
Because Buck is blue - thats been established across the seasons, whilst Eddie is yellow - and while we don't see him embracing yellow by wearing it just yet (that comes when he accepts and embraces his queerness) the fact he's sitting on yellow is a massive step forward on that journey for Eddie.

some quick math:
the united states uses 30 million plastic bags in a year, consuming roughly 12 million barrels of oil, or about 33000 per day
the international boundary of the keystone pipeline has a throughput of about 500 million barrels per day
that's over 15000 times as much as the united states uses in plastic bags
i'm all for the adoption of reusable plastic bags and fewer straws and a general decline in waste products but if corporations want to sell me on the idea that individual consumer choice is relevant, they need to accept that the optimal individual consumer choice for reducing oil consumption involves formaldehyde, ammonia, and nitric acid

The other night at trivia, there was a question about Moby Dick.
While everyone considered their answer, the DJ played "Remember the Name" by Fort Minor.
The moment I heard those opening strings and the steady, solid, wooden cadence of the beat as my mind thought of a surging ship over a cold, gray sea broken by the white flukes of foam and leviathans...I need a new Moby Dick movie made As Soon As Possible, and I need that song over a whaling montage.
