kuroo is head over heels in love with you, so much so that he jokes about doing your homework so you have no excuse not to spend the rest of the day with him–and he kind of means it, because he's that crazy for you. kuroo can never say no to helping you, he loves it whenever you come to him for homework help. and in his honest opinion... he wishes you'd come to him every time you needed help, he's more than willing to help you, and he really wants to help you pass and get grades you'd be really proud of. your success is his success, too–and as long as you need him, he'll be there; just say the word, and he'll be there.

oikawa is volleyball obsessed... but he loves another thing, milkbread; and he ultimately loves you. his ideal date is sitting down with you, maybe during lunch break, and sharing with you pieces of his favorite brand of milkbread. he does admit (to himself) that he wishes he knew how to make it, not just for himself, but rather... kind of to impress you, just a little bit.

he knows he has kind of an ego and is put on a higher pedestal compared to others–he doesn't necessarily enjoy it, due to the pressures that kind of image has on him–but when he's with you, he doesn't feel like he has to act around you; he can be himself, a person, when with you. talking about your feelings with him and vice-versa over a good few slices of delicious milkbread is the perfect way for you both to release your pent-up feelings after a long day.

sharing milkbread with you and feeding you–sometimes teasing you and eating up the portion he was going to put in your mouth–are just some of oikawa's favorite things to do with you. he loves pissing you off, but he loves making you smile even more. to see you smile all happily after he feeds you and calls you cute when your cheeks look full and you look all happy munching the pastry down... it makes his heart flutter, just a tiny bit. maybe he'll make some next time, it'd definitely be your favorite milkbread from then on if he doesn't burn it, that is.

a/n: hi guys! it's been a while since i've wrote a ff, so forgive me if it isn't that good. i've been fixating on haikyuu ever since the movie!! also this is not grammar checked.. i wrote this within an hour at 2 AM!!!

warnings: a bit angsty, tooth rotting fluff at a certain point, i forgot how to write, oikawa is sad and yearning, oikawa is scared to come back home, childhood friends to exes to something else?, tears are shed, please don't cringe i will cry

oikawa inhaled the familiar cool breeze surrounding him. he hadn't been in japan for years due to his hectic volleyball schedule. he was lucky enough to fly back for a short break before his season started again in a few months.

a wave of homesickness hit oikawa the second he landed. the memories of his mundane lifestyle in japan compared to his ever-changing way of life in argentina had shocked him.

oikawa wrapped his scarf around his neck tighter as snowflakes scattered from the skies. the delicate crystallized flakes began to litter his chestnut colored hair.

he hadn't told anyone that he was back in japan - oikawa felt no need to celebrate his arrival. he had burned too many bridges while chasing his dreams. arguments out of pure pettiness had ended relationships that he could never repair.

whenever oikawa thinks of japan, he thinks of you.

his dearest childhood bestfriend, who could never leave his side. until of course, he left for argentina without much of a say from you.

the only person he could say he loved, even through numerous flings and failed relationships.

he blames his fiery passion that became suffocating to be near. he blames his refusal to change his behavior. he blames every part of himself for driving you away.

because when he thinks of airports, he can't help but wander back to the memory of you not showing up to see him off. when he's gifted an alien keychain as a gag gift, he thinks of the two of you at ten years old, staring into the sky all night attempting to spot a flying saucer.

being back in his home country opens new wounds that he's tried to heal over and over. he wanted to enjoy his time off season without any worries.

his shoes tapped against the concrete evenly as he began to approach the convenience store. oikawa had left his hotel room earlier to clear his mind, and the only thing that could put him at peace was a slice of milkbread.

he hoped to go unnoticed, since he heavily disliked wearing an obnoxious disguise that would make him stand out even more. still, he raised the hood of his maroon sweatshirt over his head. oikawa desired some semblance of anonymity.

the bell clanged against the door loudly as oikawa quickly avoided the front of the store. he observed the vast selection of packaged milk bread loaves, before deciding on his usual choice brand.

he sauntered towards the beverage isle in curiosity and ended up settling for a bottled green tea to pair with his bread. he had never been a fan of green tea, but you had made it for him consistently after his practices to 'calm his nerves.' a tiny smile stretched onto his face as he thought back fondly.

he wanted to head home and collapse in his bed. the jetlag refused to leave him without a good night's sleep. after making sure he was satisfied with his choices, he walked up to the counter.

with his head down, he placed the items in front of the cashier. they scanned his items while he shuffled in the pocket of his pants for his wallet.

oikawa lifted his head slightly, comparing his money to the price shown on the register. he placed the money on the counter, not bothering to pay attention to the cashier.

he turned to leave and quickly get back to his hotel.

"i thought you hated green tea?" an easily recognizable voice remarked behind him.

he felt his heart drop as a lump began to form in his throat. out of anyone he could've ran into on his first night back, it had to be you? he contemplated putting on a brave face and telling you how he felt all these years or running out of the store just to avoid you.

he decided on the former, quickly turning around to face you. his breath paused as he looked at you for the first time in years. oikawa remembers you being beautiful before, but you had changed entirely.

you looked like you were crafted by the gods themselves.

the blush inched on his face as he tried to find the words to say. he had never been this anxious in his life. you looked at him with a puzzled expression as he continued to gape at you.

"i was... came home... off season...you're gorgeous?" he spoke in gibberish since he was unable to formulate his thoughts.

you laughed at his words as he stared at you with a stunned face, trying to determine whether or not you were real. you decided to ignore his shock and ask him about himself.

"how has your professional career been going? i heard you went to the olympics!" you gushed as he embarrassedly nodded along. you ignored your unpleasant past with him and continued with the formalities.

"i was glad to represent argentina in the olympics. going abroad to play volleyball was one of the greatest decisions i could've made."

oikawa sighs as he continues on.

"i still regret it, you know? arguing with you and leaving our relationship on bad terms. i think about it all the time. you inspired me to keep improving everyday. i'm so sorry for leaving.."

silence echoes throughout the store as he finishes his thoughts. you cut him off, beginning to explain your faults.

"i should've came to the airport. i knew that you were leaving, but i held a grudge." the regrets spilled out of you as the two of you continued to think about your every decision.

oikawa blinked away tears that formed in the corners of his eyes. he had missed you more than he could comprehend. there hadn't been enough words in his language to express how much he cared about you.

a few tears escaped his eyes, rolling down his cheeks. you leaned forward, wiping away the stray tears from his face. you softly grasped his jaw with a gentle smile.

"i've regret letting you go for years. you mean so much to me, tooru."

oikawa grins elatedly at you as he stares back into the comfort of your gaze. he could never get tired of this feeling.

the security of your embrace, the jokes that only you would laugh at, your support of his passion, your fixation on romance movies that you force him to watch with you, the longing gaze you send him whenever you're apart, and his overwhelming love for you.

it was one of those nights again, those nights that would lure you and would make you feel miserable. you had another nightmare again.

you woke up, panting hard while sweating crazy, warm tears streaming down on your cheeks.

I'm very sleepy so I don't have a specific question so do just share anything on your mind about vampire au. Or !!! Are they sleepy? Do the vampires sleep? How much?

the vampires do sleep! they don't require as much sleep as humans but how much they sleep probably depends on the vampire!! some vampires like sleeping, others think it's tedious. you know how it is. it's the same with food, they don't really need to eat human food but there are vampires who still decide to eat it because it's good! (you will never take milkbread away from oikawa)

but speaking of sleeping, this reminds me of a conversation i had with @freakurodani about coffins/caskets. so, after oikawa essentially comes out as a vampire to suga, suga asks him if he sleeps in a coffin and oikawa is so, so offended by it. (he does Not. however there are vampires out there who still do) suga is a little disappointed that the answer was no because he was really curious about what sleeping in a coffin is like.

suga also used to date (vampire) tendou who oikawa kinda has vampire beef with. suga learns that tendou is a vampire when he and oikawa run into him one day. <- if you saw my silly post calling suga a vampire magnet, this was part of it

tendou IS friends with vampire hunter ushijima. ushijima does not realize tendou is a vampire. his vampdar is very broken, the only person he has been right about being a vampire is oikawa.

matsukawa and hanamaki are both vampires too! matsukawa is a very gothic vampire. he still sleeps in a coffin. hanamaki is pretty modern, he started wearing body glitter around the time twilight came out to piss oikawa off... then he just continued because he really liked it. matsukawa is a phlebotomist/blood dealer for vampires & hanamaki is a college student (has been for years... he really likes taking classes). he and suga are study buddies.

HMBAU Chapter 1: Spring Band Camp

this is part of my haikyuu marching band AU (acronym HMBAU) and the rest of it is on AO3, but I’m just gonna publish it here too. Enjoy!

Chapter 1: Spring Band Camp

“1ST, 2ND AND 3RD YEARS WELCOME BACK TO ANOTHER GREAT BAND CAMP!!” our head Drum Major Daichi said to us through the megaphone  and I guess decided to speak to us normally (finally)

“For you 1st years who may not know, my name is Daichi Sawamura. I'm a 3rd year and  our band’s head drum major. Standing beside me are my fellow drum majors 3rd years Shinsuke Kita and Kiyoko Shimizu as well as 2nd year Keiji Akaashi. Now may all section leaders and captains step forward so you can introduce yourselves”

Wow. Why didn’t someone have Daichi do the talking last year?!? I remember being bored as piss when our head drum major last year took forever with his speech and made it all sappy and shit.

And oddly Kyotani was the first to step up (probably just wanted to get it over with tbh)

“Kentaro Kyotani snare section leader” “Kozume Kenma Bari Sax section leader” and kenma didn’t even look up from his psp while doing this. 

“Tetsuro Kuroo, tuba section leader”, “Kotaro Bokuto, assistant tuba section leader”, “Wakatoshi Ushijima, trumpet section leader”, “Satori Tendou tenor sax section leader ;)”, “Osamu Miya, flute section leader”

Right after Osamu introduced himself stupid Atsumu had to lose any shred of chill he had and just scream:

“ATSUMU FUCKING MIYA BEST ASSISTANT TRUMPET SECTION LEADER AND MIYA TWIN”

Only for Iwaizumi to step in and hit the bastard in the back of the head

“Iwaizumi Hajime, brass captain”

Honestly after iwaizumi introduced himself I kinda may have gotten distracted by his sleeveless arms and how awesome his handling of the idiot blond was and missed like more than half of the section leader intros untill:

“Tooru Oikawa, woodwind captain. Feel free to ask me for help anytime”

And he was looking straight at me 

Apparently Oikawa was the last one to introduce himself because Daichi immediately started talking again

“Alrighty I know that kind of took a while because there are a lot of us leaders, but I want everyone to have a good first rehearsal!”

And then I heard Suga yell “Alrighty flutes make a circle! We’re going to introduce ourselves to each other! Akaashi, would you like to join us?”

“Sure” 

“Great! This is how we’re going to do it: first and last name, what year you are, what’s your birthday, your favorite food, your favorite color, a hobby or yours, and a fun fact about yourself! After we go we’ll point to someone or say their name. I’ll start. Koshi Sugawara, I’m a 3rd year, December 31st, super spicy maro tofu, black and orange, volleyball, and I am aspiring to be an elementary teacher! I pick Osamu next!”

“Osamu Miya, 2nd year, October 16th, black and white, onigiri, cooking, and I have an idiot twin brother named atsumu. I pick Akaashi next”

Are all the leaders just picking on each other today?!

“Keiji Akaashi, 2nd year,December 5th , nanohana with karashi, blue and gold, drawing/writing, and I’m fluent in 4 languages. I choose Oikawa to go next”

“Hi there! My name is Tooru Oikawa, I’m a 3rd year, my birthday is July 20th, my favorite fodd is milkbread, my favorite colors are white and teal, I love playing volleyball, and a fun fact about myself is I actually am the starting setter for our school’s volleyball team! Hmm…maybe I shoukd pick one of you shy girls how abooouuut…Y/N!”

I froze

“Uh m-maybe n-not m-me I-I’m not that interesting”

I looked over at Osamu to help me out a bit but he betrayed me and said “come on Y/N everyone’s gotta do it, and besides you aren’t gonna get away from it this year. I know you are shy but you need to come out of your shell a bit”

“F-fine you win. I’ll try” and I not liking this shit spoke even softer than before: “My n-name is Y/N L/N, I’m a 2nd year, my-”

And Suga cut in with “I’m sorry for interrupting you Y/N but I’m having a really hard time hearing you, can you please speak up a little?”

“Uh s-sure.” I took in a deep breath and started again

“My name is Y/N L/N, I’m a 2nd year, my birthdays on April 7th,my favorite food is F/F, my favorite colors are aqua, dark heliotrope, and black, so basically all the colors from the aurora borealis, I d-don’t r-really have any hobbies, and I’m not that interesting of a person so I don’t have any fun facts I’m sorry”

All the 2nd and 3rd years were shocked because this was the most they’ve ever heard me say. And Suga basically being the mom of the section decided to say more about me because apparently he wasn’t satisfied with my answers

“What our dear Y/N forgot to mention was that she's captain of the dance team, top of her class, in our school’s top choir, and most impressive of all is she knows 9 languages fluently! And despite being so reclusive she’s very very sweet and loves helping people” he smiled softly at me knowing what he just did

He just focused everyone’s attention onto me 

I looked around frantically for who could take the attention off of me and I caught the eye of Daishou’s ex-girlfriend Mika and blurted out “U-uh M-Mika-san a-are you ok with going next?”

“Sure! I don’t mind! Honestly thought I would never get picked this early so thank you!” she smiled at me and began her schpeal and I couldn’t be more grateful 

What I hadn’t noticed was I had stood up and ran to the bathroom without saying anything

Hopefully Oikawa wasn’t gonna do a surprise jug check today

And then another thought hit me 

The flute leaders and a drum major now knew my birthday

Oh fuck

LE TIMEYSKIIIIIP

Fuck it was cold out here and it was already 10 in the morning

But hey we’ll all get hot quickly despite it being 56° outside 

“Alrighty everyone one lap around the field!”

And with that we were off for the first lap of spring band camp

13) something I always TRY to keep in mind while writing is getting out and then editing later, except I'm bad at following that rule so my fics always take a lot longer than usual. something I always DO follow tho is writing what makes me happy and excited. I find if I'm passionate about the idea, or I think it'll make me happy, it gets done a lot faster. that's why I write so much self indulgent fluff on my blog <3
