Premam

最近気になっているのは Premam (2015 Malayalam) のサーイー・パッラヴィ Sai Pallavi と ニヴィン・ポウリ Nivin Pauly だ。

サーイー・パッラヴィは母親がカッタク流の舞踊家で、本人は専門的修行はしなかったが学生ダンサー、コンテスト・ダンサーとして舞台を踏んできた。それに加えて医学部卒業、ニキビ顔、少数部族 Badagas 出身、ノーメイクで櫛けずることもしないなどあらゆる点で型破りな存在だ。演技は自然でいつも目が輝いている。しかも踊りが上手いのであっというまにスターになった。その非伝統性が、西洋的美人とモデル体型好きな観客にいつまで受けいれられるかはわからないが。

ニヴィン・ポウリも、インド映画ではいままでいな��ったタイプの好漢に思える。ヒゲがないと若いメル・ギブソン似、あごヒゲがあるといかにもふつうのいい人に見える。ただ Premam 後半では手作りケーキを出す高級カフェの口ヒゲオーナーとなり、わかりみが深そうであまり近づきたくなくなる。 Nazriya Nazim と共演した Ohm Shanti Oshana (2014) も、出番は少ないが印象に残った。
