dude i have so many thoughts on fresh gaining emotions and how hed be so much MORE dangerous with them than without….. i need to write them down sometime

fresh gaining emotions, unable to cope with anything as he never learned how in his short few years of life, has 0 support system because he’s a torturous parasite who’s whole personality he projects is a complete facade, takes advantage of any deeper connection while seeing it as a weakness/a reason he’s ‘better’ than those he manipulates, and is at risk of being killed or replaced by a “new better” version of himself if he slips up even once or ever shows a hint of weakness: WILL panic, freak out, and try to kill you if you make him feel anything in a desperate attempt to feel in control of himself again and make the emotions go away

he needs someone to help him through it but is so SO resistant to loving and being loved, self-sabotaging every chance he gets until he’s all alone again. he doesn’t want to be happy, and he believes he doesn’t deserve it even without every outside circumstance against him. he’s so tragic and he wears glasses that say YOLO on them

I love that the best emotional acting when it comes to facial expressions comes from Lan Wangji (microexpressions) and Jiang Cheng (macroexpressions). Lan Wangji doesn't emote much but when you're keyed in, the tiny little changes in his facial expression are Devastating. Meanwhile Jiang Cheng is feeling Every Emotion, All The Time, and you are going to see it on every inch of his face. He'll go through twenty different expressions in the same amount of seconds and that face journey will be but a brief glimpse into the awful emotional rollercoaster that is Jiang Cheng's life

at the end of the day, rogue is an episode that depicts queer adventure and joy. for some people, it's just a filler episode with yet another random doctor-side character romance (like voyage of the damned or the girl in the fireplace). but as a gay person, i personally appreciate rogue in a way i can't quite put into words. it is so amazing to watch, as a lifetime fan of the series and person invested in queer representation in popular media.

but i also do recognize that if an episode like dot and bubble was written about homophobia, it would make me feel bad. it would be a Good Episode, praised for its realism and clever storytelling, but it wouldn't be fun for me, as a gay person, to watch.

what i would like to see next, in addition to dot and bubble, is a story that depicts adventure and joy specifically with fans of color in mind. yes, dot and bubble did a good job of pointing out racism, and making the audience think harder about what they're watching. but that's almost more for a white audience, than for the people of color who recognize racism because they actually experience it.

i'm crossing my fingers for more stories like rogue, written by and for people of color, in the next season of doctor who :)

Who does the job preparing those bound photoshoots I wonder? I think it's all Aster's doing.

I like to imagine Aster sending Morvay for the suspecting prey, bringing them to the Special Room and tying them up under Aster's tyrannical rule.

Aster always has a reason to punish Morvay afterwards. Discipline is the only way to achieve perfect bows!!!
