Jason Todd arrives to the Gotham after being brought back alive for the first time, and while building up his career as Red Hood, visits Harvey Dent in the Arkham. They talk in a surprising peace, discuss this and this, and Jason even shares some of his insane ass lore, because, honestly, who is going to believe Harvey Dent?

And no one doesn't.

But there is a problem. The next time Bruce Wayne visits Harvey, Harvey randomly drops a bomb on him by saying that he is so, so glad that their Jaylad is back, and he grew up so much, looks so much like Bruce now! He even tries to assure him that, you see, yeah, Jason was dead, but he crawled out of his grave, and then, the Lazarus Pit fixed him!

Bruce thinks Harvey finally had reached the end of his line. Like, low-key, the last stage of insanity.

Harvey: God, he is still so well-mannered. I feel so pleased that he came to visit old me first, though. I always thought I was his favourite over you.

Bruce, laughing awkwardly, while asking the medics to add some new medicine to Harvey: Ahaha, yeah, that sounds like our Jaylad.

Harvey: Super happy for him, seriously. I mean, look at him, getting himself a new career as a Red Hood. That's our son. Feel a little bit bitter that he is into Al Ghuls family now, but that's fine.

Bruce, frowning, because Harvey isn't supposed to know about Al Ghuls and their connection to Lazarus Pit or about Red Hood: Uh, had J-Jason said something else to you?

Harvey: Oh, damn, we spoke for the whole night. He was pissed at you, though. Like, for the Tim guy, whoever he is.

Bruce, turning to the doctors: ...Maybe, uh, give me the same pills you gave him. I feel like I need it, too.

okay but the absolutely different type of hit that literature professor hob × prince of stories dream has.

can you IMAGINE. the impact that hob settling into one of his happiest careers spreading stories has on this entity. dream just white knuckling the table when he finds out and every time they meet after. palm over his mouth incandescent w lust every time hob talks about poetry. eye twitching and legs crossed when he fondly starts going on in different languages about different classics. he is the chattiest he's ever been, which makes hob perk up and chat back more, so far out from the printing press, and dream is just DYING over here.

Touch Burns

A gentle touch, given without fear, without hesitation, can burn through the fiercest of armors.

It's in the little touches. The way Grif taps their knuckles together for a fist bump.The way Tucker nudges his wrist to adjust the position of his arm wielding the sword. The way Simmons grasps his gauntlet to steady him as he climbs onto the back of the Warthog. The way Caboose's arms curl around his waist and nearly lift him off the ground. The way Donut bumps his hip with his own in passing. The way Agents Washington and Carolina will place their hands on his shoulders, strong steady grips that ground him. The way Sarge slaps a hand against his back with the red colonel laughs. 

The little touches that make him feel human again.

pjo s2 has the opportunity to make such a good comment on ableism in gen z. like as someone who was in high school hearing the r slur or “sped” or “acoustic” used so casually in so many places, i would actually break down crying if they got matt sloan to call tyson like “sped” and then see annabeth absolutely wreck his shit. i’d cheer so hard. the heroes of this story are disabled, the point of the original series was to create neurodivergent representation for kids, and it feels so so so necessary.

and that’s the thing like tommy didn’t end things with buck because buck wasn’t out. he ended things with buck to give him the space and opportunity to get comfortable with the idea of dating a man without the added pressure of having to think about and worry about how tommy felt. he didn’t want buck to have to rush out of the closet he wanted to give him a chance to truly think about how his life will shift if/when he starts a queer romantic relationship.
