guys I love david tennant but I want him to stop taking centre stage as the doctor. and I'm gonna make people angry when I say this but. but. maybe we leave him in the past. something something the foundations of doctor who are built on change and retreading old ground constantly feels like a betrayal of that.

PROLOGUE:
Our family isn’t too big. Ever since my grandparents moved to their cottage by the lake, It's just been the three of us. I don't even bring my teammates or friends home. And all the peacefulness is about to change.
“Ahh Shit- Sorry!” the fumbling buffoon said.
“Language, sweetheart. David! Could you help him pick it up? I'm tidying up the kitchen,” My mom replied.
“Coming!” My dad sprints down the stairs.
“Oh, Pumpkin, you're all grown up! Are you prepared for the semester?” Dad gestured to the culinary tools scattered across the floor.
“Yes, of course. Sorry about the mess,” he replied. The “Pumpkin” in question is my cousin, Theo. He's about to attend a college in the city to study culinary arts… or something. And, of course, he’s sharing the room with me. Not for long, though. I have a few buddies who have invited me to share a room with them. They reek, but it's a necessary evil.
“Jay,” my dad asked, nudging me, “Remember when you guys used to play house together every summer?”
“Yes, then he bit me and we never talked again,” I deadpanned.
“Oh come on, he was just a kid,” Dad retorted.
No, he wasn't. He was a little demon that stole my pretend credit card. My hand still itches thinking about that vicious attack.
I put down Theo’s luggage and bit back the argument. “I'll go back to the car to see what’s left.”
“Alright bud, thanks for the help.”
“No problem.” He could probably thank me by asking what happened at football camp, but what do I know? It's not like we haven't talked about football the entire summer. We could be doing that right now, on the deck with some ice-cold beer. But the twinky little “Pumpkin” needs help, and I have the muscle for it.
God, I wish the summer was over already.
***
“Hahahaha Exactly! I have never seen Chloé like that before.” Dad laughed.
“Right? Who knew mom had sass in her.”
Mom's competitiveness was kicked off by Theo's presence. The kitchen has basically been a war zone for the past two weeks.
Looking down at my watch, the light flashes on.
6 kilometres down, 5 more to go.
It’s been a while since I’ve had a good morning run with Dad like this one. The ocean breeze flowing past my hair and the faint rays of sunrise brought back some old memories.
Regulating my breathing, we slowed down for a second.
“Damn, son - your stamina has gotten so much better this past year.”
“The football camp really made you put up 20 pounds of pure muscles too, I’m glad I recommended you there.” Dad beamed proudly at me.
“You’re not too bad yourself, for an aging old man.”
I still get the same rush every time he compliments me. It’s like a reassurance that I’m doing something right.
“Hahahaha, you won’t be saying that when you’re one foot in your 40s; it’s basically death by fossilization.”
Dad has always been modest with his body, but everyone who knows him either admires his body, wants him, or is jealous of him and I am the same. Ever since high school I’ve been inspired to be like him. Even with the 15 pounds of muscle I have over him, I’m still lacking in so many ways. He just has the confidence to own it.
“Want some water?”
“Oh, right, of course. Thanks.” I took over the ice-cold bottle.
“About that training camp, I should request the school board to have the team register next summer for the training course. High school kids these days don't care about sports as much no more.” Dad said
“Speaking of which, remember your friend Lancaster who got held back for two years?”
“Yeah, Avery. He used to scold me when I didn’t take the nutrition classes with him. Haven’t hung with him in a while though.”
“Well, he probably won’t scold anymore. The kid got too cocky after getting a full sports scholarship and gained 70 pounds of fat in the summer. The university probably revoked the funds. Hope he didn't take it too hard.”
“Shit, that’s awful. I didn’t expect it to be him out of anyone. He was a damn good receiver.”
We resumed the pace, avoiding some rogue cyclists on the way.
Crazy to think the weight could creep up on Avery Lancaster of all people. I should watch out for myself too. I have good genes from dad so it probably will never happen, but the new influx of delicious food from Theo and my mom’s little competition definitely doesn’t help. At least it keeps the brat out of my room.
“Dad, I think I’m not going to move in with Brad and the guys.”
“Why the sudden change of heart?”
“Well first of all, as much as I love them, the guys stinks. Second of all, Theo is not as much of a blood-sucking gremlin as he was before. And I don’t think I’m ready to say goodbye to you guys.”
“Plus, How can I leave when the thing with mom just got interesting.”
“Staying for the family drama, huh?” He chuckled.
“We’re happy to have you for as long as you want, Jay. Truth be told, your mom has been crying about it for weeks. We’re both not ready to say goodbye too.”
“Tell you what, Chloe and Theo probably have some fancy lasagnas waiting for us back home; let's cut through the forest and head back early to celebrate.” He said, practically drooling.
“Lasagnas for breakfast?”
“Wait, You just want the Lasagnas. Don’t you?”
“Hahaha, Maybe.”
“Well, don’t get too drawn in, or you’ll end up as Hansel in the candy house.”
He laughed like it was the funniest thing in the world.
That would be funny to imagine though, cause Dad is anything but a glutton.

could you do spencer x fem!reader where he proposes in the middle of chasing an unsub?
Spencer Reid x BAU!Fem!Reader Trope: Established relationship; Fluff! Just fluff! w.c: 1.2k A/N: slowly finishing up on the remaining requests on my inbox. It’s taking me quite some time as I’m a mood writer so there’s days where I’m purely focused on my ideas then theres days where i’m motivated to finish the requests and theres days where i have no will to write a single word at all. Found myself rambling and immensly enjoying where the idea was going so hopefully this lives up to your expectation, no matter how late or unedited this is. Enjoy! Main masterlist
Curveball. // Spencer Reid
Tumblr media
This wasn’t how Spencer planned it. Not at all.
By nature, he was a stickler to rules and organization. Having created a mind map on the trajectory of his life from the very first time he realized how different he was from the rest. Graduate early in high school, check. Get multiple BA and PhD degrees, multiple checks. Join the Behavioral Analysis Unit at Quantico, big check. Everything was planned out. No matter how big or small.
Or at least it was, up until you strolled into the bullpen with your sensible heeled boots, crisp button downs, and tailor fitted slacks. A new recruit directly slotted by David Rossi, just like how Jason Gideon pulled rank to get him in the BAU. The stark difference was you weren’t as green as he was back then, fresh from the academy. With your credentials considered one of the best and with beaming approval from the BAU’s co-founder, David Rossi, and former member, Katie Cole of CACU, you were an immediate shoe in for the position—joining the team’s dynamic quite effortlessly and with ease.
Meeting you and falling helplessly in love with you by the end of your 6-month stay in the team was never written in Spencer’s books. He never thought once that he would find, as cliche as it sounded, a forever companion beyond the platonic relationships built within the team. He, in all of his intellect, also never thought you’d end up viewing him the same way but you did. He was so glad you did. Any disruption it caused to his mind map was a change he wholeheartedly welcomed as long as he got to come home with you wrapped in his arms.
But at the following moments, Spencer was re-considering his standpoint on the thrown curveballs that come his way all from being devotedly enamored with you.
“Spencer Reid!” you stomped your foot on the carpeted floor of the shared hotel room to gain his attention. “Did you suggest to Hotch that I be on geographical profile duty with you rather than being out with my usual partner Morgan?”
“What? No—no! Why would you think that, princess?”
With your arms crossed on your chest, hip cocked to one side, and analytical eyes cataloguing his every fidget, he knew his lie was done for.
You scoffed. “Oh I don’t know, besides from the fact you can’t look me in the eye, what else is there?” You took a minute to pause for dramatization. “Oh I know, is it because I bear a striking resemblance to all the victims? Or is it because of what happened during the last case?”
He scrunched his nose, giving himself away. “You got shot without me there, of course I got worried! What if—what if you weren’t wearing your kevlar vest or what if the unsub aimed higher, making sure to land a critical hit?” His form slumped down on the bed. “I can’t bear the thought of you in danger while I’m not around to protect you.”
“Spence, our job comes with a risk and I’m good at my job—”
“I know you are. I’ve seen you in target practice and tackle unsubs bigger than you but it also comes with the boyfriend territory that I worry whenever you’re away.”
You sighed, sitting beside him and taking his hand into yours. The difference in size was a sharp reminder on how petite and delicate you are in Spencer’s eyes. “And I get that too when we’re on duty and apart but you know what gets me by?” He shook his head, doe eyes peering into yours with such adoration. “Trust. I trust you to always come back to me, safe. In turn, I need you to trust me to do my job and take extra pre-caution with every decision I do in the field. Can you do that for me, sweet boy?”
He slowly nodded his head. “I—I can do that.”
“Next time, let’s also communicate any small or big concerns, okay Spence? I’d rather not feel lost and confused the next time a problem arises.”
“As long as you promise the same to me.”
You smiled before nodding your head in return. “Of course.”
He leaned in. Kissing those pouty lips that had been calling for him like a siren ever since the disagreement ensued.
———
“Alright,” Hotch’s no-nonsense voice called everyone’s attention. “The group of unsubs are currently holding two civilian hostages inside this very building. Morgan, Y/N, and Prentiss, you take the left entrance. Reid and Rossi, you’re with me at the right entrance.” Numerous affirmatives were echoed. “They’re armed and have proven themselves capable of killing. Vests tight and keep vigilant.”
Footsteps dispersed for preparation but before you could escape from Spencer’s line of sight, he pulled you close, adjusting your vest and making sure it was strapped tight around your chest.
“Be careful out there.”
A small smile graced your face before quickly disappearing from the thick tension all around the vicinity. “Always am. You too.”
“I mean it, princess. I need you back in one piece so I can marry you.”
You sucked in a breath. “W-what?”
“This wasn’t how I planned it but—” Hotch’s voice interrupted his ramblings. Reid. He turned and nodded once before returning his gaze back to your gobsmacked face. “—you did say to communicate right away so I love you and I want to marry you—” he squeezed your clammy hand into his. “—will you say yes?”
Reid. Another commanding voice coming from the unit chief.
Spencer smiled then before beginning his steps back to his position. It felt exhilarating to finally be the one throwing the curveball at you, no wonder you found joy in it—no matter how unconscious you were doing it. “I’ll hear your answer after, okay?”
“Oh, we’re so talking about this later.” you narrowed your eyes in return, taking steps to your opposite position. “Yes, Reid. See you later.”
Spencer looked down at his muddied sneakers, eyes gleaming from mirth and soul flying high unbound before taking a deep breath, schooling everything away and focusing all of him to catching these group of unsubs.
Maybe it wasn’t so bad not having everything go according to plan. After all, didn’t they usually say that the best things usually come when he’d least expect it? And you were the perfect definition of that phrase. His own beautiful disruptor and he wouldn’t have you in any other way.

finished dead boy detectives!!! (spoilers ahead!)
quick disclaimer: i haven’t gotten around to the comics yet but i’ve been very interested since the sandman came out and i do plan on reading them eventually lol.
- edwin is my new blorbo cutie and i too would go to hell for him. also, his style is immaculate, exactly how i want to dress all the time.
- i am SO sad about niko. but i’m glad that it seems like she’s not totally gone? i hope she’s not an antagonist in the next series (the ending was a touch ominous), but i’ll honestly be happy either way. it’s so rare to find good western-japanese characters. it made me incredibly happy when she switched into a japanese accent when saying “osaka” because it’s something i recognise in my family and in me. i know people from lots of different backgrounds do that with words from their own languages, but i’d never seen a japanese character do it before so i was very tickled.
- charles. man. please fall in love with edwin. how tf are you quite literally dragging him out of hell and he confesses to you and you look him in the eyes and say that you love him but you’re not in love with him. i mean that’s the best possible way he could’ve gone about it, but if i were edwin i might just have gone back down to the doll face spider thing.
- i hope that crystal’s past doesn’t land her in jail or anything. i really like her dynamic with the others but i’m not sold on her and charles romantically, mostly because edwin is so fucking sweet and i don’t want his heart to be broken. he’ll be happy if charles is happy, but i cannot stand see him get hurt even the tiniest bit.
- jenny is amazing. she’s literally me fr. also i love how she just hands people cleavers.
- i found the night nurse’s breakdown when she was in angie’s stomach very relatable. i feel like that a lot lmao. and i love her accent. i will go to bat for my own weird ass culchie irish/valley girl hybrid, but if had to pick another accent…
- i need a wise and eternal south asian man to talk me down from the ledge. it’s almost finals week and a ring from kashina would be a big help.
- tragic mick (top tier wordplay name) is a sweetheart and i hope he gets to be a walrus again eventually. my first reaction when i saw the cat king was “oh my god, it’s the piss kink guy from You!” but that aside, he was ok in the end. so was monty. i hope the night nurse can help crystal drag david the demon back down to hell.

RACE TIME
Your helmet was already on as you waited for the final round of qualifying to start. The first five out were Zhou, Pierre, Kevin, Nico, and Valtteri. Then Yuki, Lance, Logan, Alex, and surprisingly Carlos followed them out in the second round. You were glad that you had been on the upper level for all of the free practices and the first rounds of quali. You were finally given the signal to get back into the car.
Your legs squeezed into the form fitting area that was there to keep you in. With eyes glancing at the screen in front of you, the data seemed good for today. You knew that you didn’t want to jinx a podium. You were lucky enough to get third place the first race and then in your opinion, a lousy P6 in Jeddah. Everyone around you had told you that it was a great placing for a rookie. But you were hungry.
And only the top step could satiate that hunger.
With a wave of a mechanic’s hand, you were given the signal to go ahead. You had completely your first lap, which set you up in the lower level at position 6. You wouldn’t be doing your second flying lap until Oscar completed his. At this point, you had been bumped up to position 4 with Oscar in position 5. And you knew he wanted to get around you, hence the second flying lap.
Your car was sailing smoothly as you warmed your tires to have one more try to get higher on the leaderboard. Yet ahead, Esteban Ocon was doing something weird, but it didn’t raise any flags. You kept your distance as he suddenly slowed down a lot on one corner. It was going well, until Mitch suddenly came on the radio.
“Kid you have to get out of the way. Piastri approaching on his flying lap.”
You were going too fast behind Ocon.
You pressed the button. “Where the hell am I supposed to go? Ocon is not moving or speeding up.”
In a final try to not hit him, you swerved to go around. But, that was the moment that Oscar came flying around the corner. You were just around the Alpine car when something hit the back of your car.
“Shit!”
David Croft’s voice could be heard for the viewers.
“There goes the Red Bull of Y/n L/n and the McLaren of Oscar Piastri! They were close together around the corner as Piastri was on his flying lap and they made contact! Looking back it seems as though the Alpine of Esteban Ocon had suddenly slowed down and L/n had nowhere to go. The stewards will definitely be looking at that. Those two will not be happy. And there is the red flag, ending the session early.
“We have Max Verstappen with a pole position followed by Leclerc, and then Daniel Ricciardo, which is his best position in years and it’s on home turf. He will be followed by L/n, unless she received a penalty, and then Piastri in P5 with his teammate Lando Norris in P6. The two Mercedes take P7 and P8 with Russell then Hamilton. Then last but not least Fernando Alonso followed by Esteban Ocon, unless he also receives a penalty for possibly causing a collision.”
Now, your car didn’t go flying, but you did end up off the track. And to your right was the bright orange (papaya) livery of one Oscar Piastri.
“What the actual fuck? What was he thinking?” You moaned out as you began to unstrap your seatbelt.
“Are you ok kid?” Christian’s concerned voice came over the radio. Back at the garage, Mitch, Christian, and Max were all watching. Max had a comfortable pole position.
You pressed the button again. “Yeah, I’m ok. How’s Oscar? Christian I’m so sorry.”
A sigh of relief left the older Brit’s mouth. “It’s not your fault kid. We’ve brought it up with the stewards.”
Max’s voice sounded through the radio again. “That was Ocon’s fault. I don’t know what the fuck he was thinking.”
With Oscar, it was a similar story. The Aussie pressed his radio.
“What the hell was that?” Normally, Oscar wouldn’t rage over his radio, but this was different.
Tom Stallard answered the younger driver. “What we’re seeing is Ocon slowed way down and L/n had nowhere to go.”
Oscar huffed. “What position did I end up with?”
“Uh, P5 mate. Sorry, I knew you wanted higher.”
With a grunt, Oscar grasped the halo and pulled himself up. His helmet-clad head turned in your direction, and he was surprised to see that you hadn’t gotten out yet. He was immediately swarmed by marshals as he stepped onto the grass.
“Is she ok?” he questioned, body still turned to you. However, the marshal that held his arm just gently tugged him toward the car.
You sighed as you just sat for a moment. Bruises would definitely appear later on your front. “Is Oscar ok?”
Mitch had finally gotten her radio back. “He’s out. Just be gentle. He and you don’t need to go to the hospital. Now, undo your steering wheel and go to the car please.”
You listened to Mitch and quickly undid your wheel. However, your blood was boiling. Quoting Mad Max, you hoped you wouldn’t see the French driver back at the pits, for his sake. Gentle your ass, it was going to be on sight.
A grunt left your lips as you lifted yourself you using the halo. Your front burned as you did it, you needed to check on, well, your friend.
Multiple marshals tried to check on you, but you batted their arms away. Your steps quickened as you stalked toward the papaya driver. You knew cameras were following you, and you scolded yourself for not reigning in your angry expression.
“Oh no. Looks like L/n is mad. Does Red Bull have a thing for drivers with anger issues?” Crofty joked in the announcer’s box as he watched you take strides across the grass.
Oscar, who was still pulling against the woman, finally saw you storming toward him, almost knocking people over. He stiffened as you were now close, ready for anything. Technically, you were in the wrong, but no one had ever seen you angry yet.
He was surprised when arms tightly wrapped around him and squeezed him. A sniffle left your nose as Oscar wrapped his arms back around you. Shoulders shaking on your end, he started to rub your back in comfort.
“I’m so sorry,” you all but sobbed to him, still muffled by your helmet that was currently pressing up against his chest. You hadn’t planned to cry, but you felt terrible.
“I’m ok,” he whispered back. He knew he needed to get you away from the cameras so he gently guided you over to the car. Once the two of you were hidden behind the black SUV that came to pick you up, the two of you took your helmets off.
“There was nowhere for me to go! Ocon suddenly stopped. It was either just ram into his car or try to get around him in time. I guess the second option wasn’t a good option either.” You told him as they two of you rode back to the pits.
The moment the two of you were out, you were swarmed with both Red Bull and McLaren personelle. Max, Lando, and Charles were also there. You had calmed down on the ride there, but now your blood was boiling once again.
Your head swerved back and forth as you tried to find the French driver. Max must have caught on to your expression, because he put both hands on your shoulders and tried to direct you back to the home garage.
You tried to shrug his hands off. “Max, I need to find him.”
“Kid, no. It won’t do anything.”
By now, Charles had also stepped in front of you, trying to dissolve your want to find Ocon.
But the world was against the two drivers today as your eyes spotted him. And, you guess he didn’t think you’d be angry as he almost pranced over with a smirk on his face. You suddenly shoved your body against Max’s as you tried to push toward Esteban.
Your finger pointed over Max’s shoulder. “You fucking prick!”
That smirk faded on Esteban’s face as he saw your fuming expression. By now, you had attained a small crowd around you as you tried to keep pushing your way through. Daniel, and now Arthur, was also standing behind Max, trying to keep you contained.
“What did you think would happen? Huh? You fucking slow down to the left with me going toward you on someone’s flying lap?” You were surprisingly inching forward. “You could have seriously hurt someone!”
A hand suddenly was placed on your shoulder. Your eyes followed the arm and you came face to face with your team principal. One look from him had you stop in your tracks, yet you weren’t done yelling.
“You better watch out Ocon. Also, I know that you took my fucking juice box from the fridge. That was mine!”
Once you were finished, you harshly shrugged off Christian’s hand and stalked back toward your driver’s room.
Every driver that was watching was frozen as they watched your figure leaving.
“Uh, what the heck just happened?” Max questioned, looking around.
Daniel laughed. “What are you teaching her Max? This is Brazil 2018 all over again.”
Max could only chuckle as he also remembered that specific grand prix. But, he had been able to actually get close to the French driver. You, not so much.
Arthur huffed. “I’ll go find her. She hasn’t done something like this since 2021.” Arthur shuddered at his mention of the year. He disappeared in your direction.
Oscar turned toward Charles. “What happened in 2021.”
Charles only had a smirk on his face. “Let’s just say that someone ate her first for lunch and dinner.”
The group of men laughed as they each went back to their respective garages.
Turns out, there was nothing wrong with Ocon’s engine. He just didn’t know that you were right behind him. When you found out, you had more colorful words to follow.
Arthur had been able to calm you down by promising that you’d be able to hold a koala when the two of you went to the Australian Zoo the Monday following the race. You grumbled for the next hour as the two of you sat in your driver’s room, drinking juice box’s that Max dropped off.
News came out later that night that the stewards didn’t find any fault with you or Oscar. A giant sigh of relief fell out of everyone’s lips when the news was posted. Esteban, on the other hand, was handed a giant 10-place penalty. He would be starting P20 for the race. A content smile had graced your face for the remainder of Saturday night.
Sunday was thankfully a much happier story.
Starting Grid:
Max Verstappen
Charles Leclerc
Daniel Ricciardo
Y/n L/n
Oscar Piastri
Lando Norris
George Russel
Lewis Hamilton
Fernando Alonso
Carlos Sainz
Alex Albon
Logan Sargeant
Lance Stroll
Yuki Tsunoda
Valtteri Bottas
Nico Hulkenberg
Pierre Gasly
Zhou Guanyu
Kevin Magnussen
Esteban Ocon – 10-penalty
You were almost dancing in the car as you were placed on the P4 place.
Mitch came over the radio for the check. “Kid what has you so happy?”
Your smile widened under your helmet. “Arthur said I can hold a koala tomorrow. And Vito should be currently hunched over my computer, trying to navigate Ticket Master so I can go to Eras Tour Part 2.” You were practically squealing.
Mitch, back at the garage, turned around to find your manager. And sure enough, there he was hunched over your computer with a stressed look on his face. She only chuckled before she went back to look at your strategy. She knew your tyre reservation was much better than Bahrain or Jeddah. Both those races had you ending in a lower position than you or the team wanted.
And speaking of the team, you had actually bought everyone as many coffees as they wanted after working on your car all night to get it ready for today.
When the lights went out, the RB20 truly felt like a rocket ship. Around the second half of the race, you were able to overtake both Daniel (who went a bit wide) and then on the second to last lap Charles (who locked up, allowing both you and Daniel to overtake him). You knew the Monegasque would be sad, but according to your calculations, he should still be second in the constructors championship since he and his teammate finished before both Mercedes.
But that was for a later time.
Once again, you were on the podium. But this time, it was second place. You could only smile as you saw Daniel in the cooldown room, talking with Max.
You immediately went and sat on your chair and watched the Dutchman and the Aussie have a good conversation before Daniel turned to you.
“I thought I had it and then you came out of nowhere!”
You giggled in response. “Well, we have to thank Charles since he opened the door for us to slip through. I thought I wouldn’t be able to catch up and I was all like oh no! Oh wait, sorry, ahem, aur naurrrr.”
Daniel only rolled his eyes at your attempt at the accent.
The three of you had fun on the podium. Almost as it was ending, Daniel suddenly leaned over to you and Max.
“Hey! You wanna do a shoey with me?”
Max looked disgusted but you looked elated.
“Hell yeah!” you yelled back. You quickly sat on the podium and undid your shoe along with Daniel. The crowds seemed to get louder as the two of you started filling the shoes. The shoes met together in a mock toast before you brought yours to your lips.
You grimaced as the smelly shoe got close to your mouth and the lukewarm champagne poured down your throat. But the cheers and Daniel’s smile was honestly worth it.
The sticky liquid frothed down your chin as you finally pulled the shoe away and were led off the podium. Daniel and your smiles wouldn’t go away.
“I cannot believe you two just did that,” Max grumbled as the three of you walked toward the teams.
“Want a kiss Maxie?” Daniel puckered his lips and put his face near Max’s. The rebuttal was a hand on his face and a shove in the other direction.
As Daniel said goodbye, he picked up his black backpack.
You waved goodbye. “Are we still up for the zoo tomorrow?”
“Yep kid. I’ll see you there!”
You left with Max and jumped toward the team! They welcomed the two of you with open arms! Life really was great.

regret
Tumblr media
leah williamson x reader
actually finished writing something! wooo! the poll i put out was a close one, but this pair ultimately won. thanks to all who voted.
i’ve decided to split this into two parts, so this isn’t the end peoples!
part 2
———
“Alright. Remember, when we get there—”
“—pretend that we’re still happily married. I know.” You say annoyed, getting out of the car.
“Hey, don’t be like that!” Leah gets out of the car, catching up to you.
“Be like what? I’m not the one who got us in this situation.”
“Can we just be civil? This is the last time we’ll go through this.”
“Piss off will you! We wouldn’t have to act civil if you kept your mouth to yourself. And you had the audacity to file for divorce.”
Before Leah could reply, the front door opens to reveal Amanda, Leah’s Mom.
“Oh, I’ve missed you girls so much!”
Putting up a smile on your face, you engulfed the woman in a hug.
“Missed you too Amanda.”
“Come in! Come in!”
“Oi! David how’ve you been pops?”
“Oh, I’ve been wonderful! Glad to have you here!” He pulls you into a hug.
“There’s my favorite sister!” You hear behind you, Jacob just coming down the stairs from his room.
“Come here you! It’s been a while, huh?”
“It has! You gotta visit me more often.” You tense a bit, but not enough for him to notice in your embrace, putting up a smile on your face.
“I’ll try to visit more.”
What you don’t see behind you is Leah watching your interactions with her family.
You’ve known each other young. You’ve both been dating since you were fifteen, marrying at nineteen, divorced at twenty-one.
Her family’s have welcomed you with open arms since the beginning. You were her first serious relationship. The only one of her girlfriends that her family loved. You’ve had your whole life basically planned out, Leah would become a footballer, you a doctor, marriage, kids, the dream basically.
Leah didn’t know the exact reason why she did what she did, but it happened and she couldn’t take it back. She knew this teammate of hers has liked her for a while and never told her off.
She woke up to an unfamiliar bed, an arm around her that certainly wasn’t you. She regretted it the moment she woke up, didn’t know how to tell you, but you found out before she could. Ashamed of herself, Leah filed for divorce.
———
Leah didn’t know what she was thinking divorcing you. She didn’t have the right to be the one to file as she was the one who fucked up. It was impulsive and shameful. It was the best option she could think of at the time.
Now here she was, five years later, at the Emirates training grounds, about to run for the first time since her ACL injury. She missed you so much during this time. Every time she was injured in any way, you were always by her side nursing her back to health. You were her support system, making her fall more in love with you. This time, without you by her side, she realized how much she took you for granted, how she didn’t show you enough love, betraying you in the worst way possible.
She’d already signed the divorce papers, pressuring you to do the same all while making you go to her family’s for a dinner pretending that nothing has changed between the two of you. It was when she finally saw your signature on the papers was when she realized how she’s lost you for good.
———
Getting back home after a family walk, Amanda spots a stack of papers on the kitchen counter, a folded paper on top, along with two rings. Curious, she opens it up and quickly skims through them, shock fills her body after she finished reading.
“Leah!” She yells for her daughter.
“Yeah, mum?” Leah walks into the kitchen to see her mom holding something up.
“What the hell is this?”
Leah being clueless, grabs the sheet, reading it herself.
Leah,
I’ve finally signed everything you’ve been wanting me to sign. I don’t know why I’ve put it off for so long even if I’m not the one at fault. Guess it’s just hard to let go of the one you love the most.
Don’t contact me. Don’t look for me. You’re free.
Yn
Leah couldn’t even respond to her mother. All the emotions she bottled up came at her all at once, breaking down in front of her family. Six years of relationship, one year of marriage over.

27 and 3 with poly boys? 👀 (if possible, it’s not us getting hurt, instead it’s one of the boys and we are helping care for them?)
3. Go back to your coffin
27. "I'm fine." "You're not, you're bleeding." "What?"
I hope you like this!
----------------------------------
I smiled as Dwayne pulled me into a dance, a mellow rocksong playing in the background. The others were out for the night, deciding to hunt on their own. Dwayne had decided to stay with me, knowing how rare it was to have any actual one on one time. I loved the boys, and I loved spending time with all of them together. But moments like these, alone in his arms, being able to really be with just him for a moment - they were sacred.
"What are you thinking about?"
"You," I admitted, "us. How perfect it is."
"I'm glad you're happy," he said as he kissed me slowly, "I know it's a big change."
He was right about that. Going from zero boyfriends to four is a lot, and practically moving in after the first date wasn't a small thing either. Then, of course, there was the fact that they were vampires, and not only that - I literally belonged to them. I was destined to be with them, can you imagine that? It was a lot, but the boys understood that. They knew to take it slow, to let things grow on their own.
"It is," I said, "but I'm happy I found you four. I'm also really happy I don't have to change like, right now-"
Dwayne laughed, stopping the music suddenly as he heard stumbling outside.
"What's going on?"
"Paul got hurt," he explained, taking my hand as he rushed outside, me following close behind. "Paul?"
We stood there, seeing him stumble down the stairs, guided by David and Marko.
"What happened out there?" I asked as I rushed to his side.
"Werewolves. They saw us hunt, and they attacked. Paul just got a little banged up, is all."
I frowned slightly, pulling him into a hug. "I'm glad you three are home. Are the werewolves still around?"
Marko nodded. "They got away before we could do anything. We were too busy making sure Paul didn't get killed."
"Are the two of you okay?" Dwayne asked as he looked the others over. Marko shrugged, as David nodded.
"We should go inside," I said as I looked at the sky. "Is it me, or is it getting lighter?"
"Yeah, " Paul mumbled, sounding tired, "nights ending."
I held him, his arm laying over my shoulder as I guided him down the rest of the steps into the cave. I gently put him down on the couch as I looked him over, brushing some hair out of his face.
"Are you-?"
"I'm fine," he tried to brush me off, clearly trying to sound more healthy and awake than he actually was. I sighed, my left hand resting on my right shoulder as I felt something sticky. I looked, seeing my fingers were red. Blood.
"You're not," I said softly, looking him over again, "You're bleeding."
"What?"
I nodded, asking him to take off his jacket. There, on his side, was a bite. I froze. Marko had told me that werewolfbites were lethal to vampires.
"David!" I called, trying to keep my fear from sounding through. He was at the other side of the cave, talking with Marko and Dwayne about how to deal with the werewolves.
"What's - oh shit," he looked at me and then at Paul, who looked paler with the second. "Marko, I need the bottle! Dwayne, make sure a coffin is ready."
"What can I do?" I asked as I exposed the wound further so he could inspect it.
"I'm going to be okay, babes," Paul mumbled, sighing deeply.
"I know, I know you'll be." I closed my eyes, fighting back the tears. "If you're not, I'm going to make you regret it."
He chuckled weakly, hissing as David touched the ripped flesh. Marko handed him the bejewelled bottle. David popped the cap off, making sure it was still fresh enough before giving it to Paul. As he drank, slowly but surely, the wound began to close, stitching itself shut. Paul groaned, before passing out.
"He's-"
"He'll be okay," Marko gave me a reassuring look. "I also survived a similar wound. He'll be fine."
"I don't want to lose any of you."
"We don't either," David lifted Paul up, walking towards the back of the cave. "I'm glad you noticed it. If you hadn't, we could have been too late."
I nodded, shivering slightly. If I hadn't found it at the moment I did, Paul would have been dead. I looked up as Marko took my hand, taking me with him as he entered a deeper part of the cave. It was in a hallway next to their usual sleeping area, where four coffins stood.
"We don't usually sleep in them," Dwayne explained as he looked at my curious expression. "But they're best when we're hurt."
I nodded, grateful to see a normal bed standing in the corner, right next to Paul's coffin. I watched as the others laid down in their own coffins, sitting down on the bed myself. As exhausted as I was, I couldn't sleep. I needed to know Paul was okay, and the others would stay okay.
It was eight in the morning when I woke with a start, feeling a sharp thing pierce my finger. I glared at the thing disturbing my slumber when I realised it was none other than Paul.
"What are you doing?" I hissed, careful not to wake the others.
"I'm hungry, babe."
"I know I'm a snack, but I'm not a snack! I can fetch the bottle for you, if you need blood?"
Paul shook his head, stretching out his arm to mine.
"I want yours."
"Well, too bad, because that isn't happening."
"But babe!"
I shook my head, a stern look on my face. "Go back to your coffin."
"What?"
"Go back to your coffin. I love you, sleep tight, I'm going to see if David has some spare room for me in his coffin."
"Why?" Paul looked at me as if I had just told him his cat died. I'd never seen him with such an intensely hurt look before.
"Because I don't want to wake up being drained from my blood by my own boyfriend."
He pouted, sliding back in his coffin as he yawned. "I'll try again tomorrow," he mumbled before dozing off again.
"Try that," I sighed softly as I tiptoed out of my bed across the room until I stopped at David's coffin. The lid wasn't on it, and to my surprise, he was awake.
"Couldn't sleep either, hm?"
I shook my head, taking his hand as he helped me get in. "I was worried about Paul."
"Seems like he'll be okay, though."
"Yeah. Bastard already tried to take a nible from my finger," I showed David the shallow wound. He had a teasing grin on his face as he kissed it, slowly kicking the blooddrops off of it.
"You taste good."
"Can I sleep safely in here?" I asked, only slightly teasing.
"We'd never hurt you, darling. Sleep. Paul is going to be okay, and you won't be if you don't sleep enough."
I nodded, smiling softly as I got comfortable, my head laying on his chest. David was right. Paul would be okay.

Special Girl
Cw: pining, mentions of masturbation, piv sex, protected sex, oral (m&f receiving), fingering
The sound of your front door opening and closing was normal, someone was always on the move, but your interest was piqued when you heard your brother laughing, indicating he probably had a friend over, and you prayed it wasn’t who you thought it was
Your brother’s best friend growing up was Leon Kennedy. He was just a year older than you, and you’d always had a huge crush on him. Actually, crush was a weak word for this.
You were
hand-in-your-panties-like-your-life-depended-on-it obsessed with him.
You were a slut for him and he was none the wiser.
You sat and thought for a moment before making up your mind. Timing it perfectly, you crossed the hall to the bathroom as your brother came up the stairs with his friend, letting you see who it was.
Fuck, it was Leon.
He seemed much more handsome than he was the last time you had seen him. Maybe it was because it was summer, but his skin was tanner and his hair was more blond than usual. He was Adonis in the flesh, everything you could ever want.
You spend a few moments pretending to use the bathroom, flushing the toilet and washing your hands to make it convincing. Then you duck back across the hall and into your room.
It’s begun to get dark and you're laying on your bed wrapped in just a blanket reading National Geographic. You’d gotten accepted to Penn State for anthropology, and you wanted to spend your summer preparing for when school started up. Your walls were covered in clippings from previous issues, the city of Petra, the carved churches of Lalibela, ancient statues, any picture that interested you honestly. You loved to look around your room at them all while you thought.
You’re pondering what all you’re going to take to your dorm when you hear the garage door rumble open. Your father was home, which meant it was almost dinner time.
A groan escapes your lips as you roll off the bed and shuffle to your closet to find clothes. You clutch your blanket around your shoulders like a cloak as you dig around, pulling out an oversized sweatshirt and a pair of basketball shorts. Not exactly the best dinner outfit, but decent. You knew if you looked too nice your brother would pick on you for being a try-hard later.
When you go downstairs to help your mother set the table, you're more than surprised to see Leon doing it already.
“Oh Leon, you didn’t have to do that,” you say, reaching out a hand for the remaining silverware.
“Oh, hello,” he mumbles. “Your mom said I could stay for dinner, so it’s the least I can do.”
“Honey, you can get the plates. You know, Leon goes to Penn State too? Glad to know I’ll have someone to look out for you.”
Your cheeks turn pink at your mother’s words, and you're grateful that your back is turned. Look out for you.
“So uh, how do you like it?”
“S’alright, I guess. Better than being sent to Harvard, like my old man wanted. He wanted me to be a lawyer.”
“That’s good. Are you going for criminology like you wanted?”
“Yeah. I’m really glad to have done it. It was nice, standing up to him for once.”
“Yeah…”
After dinner’s been served and you’re just sitting there, poking at your plate, halfheartedly pretending to listen to your brother ramble about the upcoming soccer season, you can finally say you’re bored. Your father replies to whatever it was David had just said when you feel a foot brush against yours.
At first, you thought it was an accident, but when it happens again, you look up, meeting Leon’s eyes as he chews before looking back down at your plate. A few moments pass without another brush, so you cautiously stretch your leg out and bump your foot against his. Leon doesn't react to your touch, he just keeps eating.
Maybe it was an honest mistake. You mentally berate yourself for thinking he would touch you on purpose. You jump slightly when you feel his foot on your calf, gently stroking it.
“You alright, y/n,” Leon questions, looking as innocent as possible while he torments you, unbeknownst to your family.
“Yeah, just a chill, that’s all.”
“Oh, okay,” he shrugs, turning his attention back to David and your father.
Your cheeks burn and you take a couple more feeble bites before asking to be excused.
You laid awake that night, wondering what the fuck that was all about. God, you really needed to piss.
You rolled out of bed and pulled on your fluffy robe before heading to the bathroom.
When you step out of the bathroom, you bump into someone.
“Sorry David, didn’t see you.”
“And where are you going, pretty girl?”
Fuck. Nobody told you Leon was spending the night.
“J-just back to bed.”
“Why d’ya sound so nervous, hm,” he questions, backing you into the bathroom and closing the door.
“You scared me, that’s all.” Your robe was riding up and the counter was so, so cold against your bare ass.
“Just like you were chilly at dinner, right,” he questions, you can hear the grin in his voice as he lowers his head beside your ear, lifting your chin with his finger.
“Leon…”
“What, baby? Say the word and I’ll stop.”
“Please, don’t,” you whisper
He leans away and takes a step back.
“No, wait- that’s not what I meant, Leon please.”
“Ah, so you do want me then?”
You nod.
“That isn’t enough, sweetheart I want you to say it.”
“Leon, that’s not fair, please. Need you.”
He chuckles to himself and returns to his original position, lips brushing against your neck as he speaks.
“You need me, hm?”
You nod again, slightly aware of how pathetic you’re being, but too caught up in Leon’s affection to care.
“What does my pretty girl want, hm? How bad do you need me,” he whispers, brushing his fingers up your thigh and under your robe.
“Nothing on under there. Was that intentional or did I just catch you at a good time?”
“I never wear anything to bed,” you murmur, bringing your hand up to rest in his hair, giving it a slight tug as his lips abuse the tender flesh of your shoulder, teeth grazing against your collarbone as he groans.
“Go wait for me in your room. I’m gonna make sure we won’t be bothered.”
You nod softly and poke your head out of the bathroom, making sure no one's watching as you scurry across the hall into your room while Leon hangs back.
After what felt like eternity, Leon comes into your room, easing the door shut behind him and sliding the lock into place. Your nerves are absolutely shot, and you shiver as you watch Leon come towards you, the way his tight shirt hugged his broad shoulders and slim waist, accentuating his silhouette.
“Is everyone asleep,” you question, pushing yourself up in the bed, tugging your robe tighter around yourself.
“Yeah,” he hums, sliding into your bed beside you, taking a swatch of your pink satin sheets between his fingers and feeling it. “Nice sheets, I see why you sleep naked.”
You giggle and rest your head on his shoulder. You had been awkward around Leon for as long as you could remember, In middle school, watching him from across the cafeteria as he flipped through an X-Men comic and filled out the mail-in sheet on the back, or in high school when he shrugged at every girl that tried to ask him out and you had been so sure he’d give you the same answer, so you’d never bothered.
Despite being dismissive most of the time, he was there when it mattered, like your junior year, when you had snuck out and gone to a local college party and gotten absolutely smashed. Leon had been there too and followed you around all night, shielding you from grabbing hands and switching your drinks out for water as the night wore on before driving you home and helping you sneak back into your window. Or when he’d come hiking with your family and you’d gotten water intoxication and he’d carried you back to the car to cool you off and taken you to get some extra salty fries while your family finished their hike.
But things were different now, you were both adults, and you knew that he wanted you as he tilted your chin up and pressed his lips to yours softly while his free hand went up to caress your cheek. His hands were calloused from his frequent visits to the gym, but they felt so good as they roamed your features, tracing the curve of your lips. The bridge of your nose, the arch of your brow. You wanted nothing more than to feel his hands all over your body.
“Leon,” you whine, tugging at the hem of his shirt, trying to get him to take it off. He finally takes the hint and pulls his shirt off and drops it on the floor. You yelp as he wraps his arms around your waist and pulls you into his lap.
“Shh, we still gotta be quiet, baby. Can’t get caught can we, then I can’t come visit anymore, hm?”
“Sorry, I just wasn’t expecting it,” you whisper, leaning in and kissing along his jaw.
“Mh, feels good,” he mumbles, exposing his neck to you as you trail kisses all across his throat, grazing your teeth along his Adam’s apple, making his breath hitch.
When you pull away your robe is barely covering enough of you to be considered decent. Leon looks up to meet your eyes, groaning when you untie your robe and let it slide down your shoulders, exposing your shoulders and the tops of your breasts. He allows his gaze to drop back to the soft plain of your tummy, the curve of your hips and the way the blanket wrapped around your hips pools between your legs just enough to cover the one thing he needs the most.
You can feel him, straining against his shorts as you cautiously lower yourself to brush your pussy along his sensitive bulge.
“You should take these off Lee,” you hum, tugging at the waistband of his shorts.
He nods and lifts his hips, allowing you to pull them down so he can kick them off. He groans as his cock springs free from the confines of his pants, standing at attention, so close to your entrance he can feel the warmth coming from you.
You shrug your robe the rest of the way off and drop it down with Leon’s clothes, moving from his lap, kneeling beside him and resting your head on his thigh and kissing it softly once before licking along the underside of his cock, making him grip at the sheets.
You tease him relentlessly, kissing and licking at the tip of his cock, your warm breath fanning against his skin. He lets out a deep groan when you finally take him in, tongue swirling around him as you take him deeper into your mouth. Tears prick the corners of your eyes as he tangles his fingers into your hair and guides you to take him into your throat.
“You’re such a good girl,” he whispers. “You’re taking me so well, fuck,” he moans bringing his other hand to caress your cheek.
Leon studies the way your body moves as you pleasure him, the arch of your back, the curve of your ass, the way you look up at him as you moan around him.
“M’gonna cum, fuck. You gonna let me cum in your mouth?”
You nod weakly as you take Leon deeper into your throat, pressing your nose against his tummy as he finishes. You lap at his tip, making sure you don't miss anything as you pull away, swallowing thickly and gasping softly as Leon pushes your hair out of your face and smoothing it down.
“You did so good for me,” he praises, stroking your cheek and motioning for you to lay back. “Let me return the favor, hm?”
“Please,” you whine, laying back on your bed, watching intently as Leon takes his place between your legs, right where you’ve always wanted him, tips of his fingers lazily trailing along your thigh while he looks up at you.
He teases your entrance before easing two of his fingers into you, making you whimper.
“I don’t normally do this, but you’re my special girl,” he whispers, ducking his head between your thighs and throwing one of your legs over his shoulder. “But you have to be quiet, okay?”
“I’m your special girl,” you question, a warm blush spreading across your cheeks as he rests his head on your thigh, his hair tickling the tender flesh there.
“Always have been. Why do you think I look after you like I do? You promise you’re gonna be quiet?”
You nod and give him a gentle smile, laying back into the pillows and running your fingers through his silky hair. He curls his fingers into you, testing the honesty of your statement, pleased when you only let out a soft whimper and lock your ankles around his shoulders.
Leon takes your encouragement and buries his face between your thighs, tongue lathing against you as his fingers continue their steady rhythm inside you. Your soft moans and the way you tug at his hair are more than enough to drive him insane, urging him to focus his attention on your clit to draw more out of you, his fingers lazily curling into your sweet spot as he grinds his hips into the mattress, looking for a little relief of his own.
“Leon, ah- ‘m so close.”
You can feel him grin against you as he nudges his nose against your clit before taking it back between his lips, making you shove your fist in your mouth as he draws an orgasam out of you. He chuckles and just keeps eating you, not caring about the way your legs shake around him, or your heels digging into his back, or the way you’re dangerously close to ripping out a chunk of his sandy blond hair. No, all he cares about are those cute little noises you’re making, accented only by the occasional whine when he brushes his fingers against that spot inside you.
Finally he pulls away, tongue darting out to lick his lips as he crawls his way up to you, his fingers still buried to the hilt in your dripping cunt.
“How was that? Hm? Anyone ever done that for you before?”
You shake your head and he grins, leaning down to press a sloppy kiss to your lips. You can taste yourself and it’s one of the hottest things you think you’ve ever experienced.
“You think you’re ready for me, baby?”
“Yeah… I can take it.”
“We’ll see,” he teases, pulling his fingers out of you, making you whine at the sudden emptiness, and brings them to his mouth, sucking all of you off of them. “You know baby, you’re just so damn good, don’t want to waste it.”
You reach up and wrap an arm around his neck, pulling him down into a kiss, teasing your tongue against his lip, smiling against him when he allows the intrusion. He pulls away and you reach for him, but he doesn’t yield to your grabbing hands, reminding you that he’s just been a willing participant in your arms until now.
“You have a condom?”
“I’m on birth control.” That’s what guys really wanted to hear, right?
“Not good enough.” Oh. He actually wanted one.
“Top drawer of the nightstand, not sure they’ll fit though.”
“You flatter me. Ah, here.” He rifles through the drawer until he finds one, tearing the little foil packet open with his teeth, hissing softly as he rolls it on.
He’s back on top of you as soon as he’s got it in place, grinding his hips against yours and pulling your legs around his waist.
“See, now you can keep those pretty legs of yours around me as long as you want and we don’t have to worry.”
You giggle and reach between your bodies, taking him into your hand and giving him a couple of strokes before lining him up with your entrance. He eases himself into you until he bottoms out, using one hand to lace his fingers with yours while the other grips at your headboard.
“Fuck, baby, you feel so good. Didn’t know what I was missing until now.”
He starts out with a slow pace, taking the time to pull almost completely out of you before sliding back in, relishing in the way you push your hips up to meet his. Taking it slow was almost unbearable, but you were his special girl after all, and he wanted you to know he’d look after you however you wanted, even if it meant torturing himself to get you used to him.
After a small eternity you tell him to speed up and he doesn't need to be told twice. His thrusts become short and deep, the sound of your bodies meeting filling the stuffy silence of your room as he keeps his lips on yours swallowing down the moans that tumble from your lips. He takes his hand from yours to knead at your breast, enjoying the way they bounce every time his hips slam into yours. He knows you’re close by the way you tighten around him, so he opts to lean back and grab your hips, digging his fingertips into the supple flesh there, setting a punishing pace as his own hips stutter and he lets out a whine as he cums, lazily thrusting to carry you through before pulling out and falling beside you, pulling the condom off and knotting it, dropping it into the trash can beside your bed.
“So,” he questions, propping himself up on his elbow. “How was that?”
You’re still laying there trying to catch your breath, so you just let out a choked sound of agreeance.
“You okay?”
“Yeah, just-”
“Just what?”
“A lot of things. Good things. But-”
“Start small then.”
“None of my other boyfriends would kiss me after I sucked them off.”
“Boyfriend?”
“Sorry,” you laugh nervously, sure you’d already screwed it up.
“Don’t be. I’m not opposed to it. In fact I’d quite like to be your boyfriend, but what else.”
“And then you ate me out, and-”
“Go on.”
“I’ve never cum like that in my life.”
“Those other guys were missing out then,” he replies, wrapping his arms around you, pressing a kiss to the back of your head.
That’s what you always liked about Leon. No matter how much you could try to stroke his ego, he always took it humbly. You wiggle yourself around to face him and press a kiss to the tip of his freckled nose
“Hey, baby, I don’t want to just run out on you and ruin a good thing, but I gotta go back soon,” he whispers, resting his forehead against yours before slipping out of your bed and getting dressed. You watch with a twinge in your chest as he makes his way towards the door.
“I understand. Are you gonna come see me again?”
“You know it baby,” he grins, opening the door and slipping out before easing it shut behind him.

Note
Hi, I binge read the entirety of your EMTTS and i absolutely love it! I wanted to thank you for your dedication and for how much you made me laugh. It's really great to find a saga that's funny and also gut-wrenching and written by someone who's a) very talented and b) clearly loves the characters and makes them very well rounded even in little snippets of life. So thank you!!
I also can't stop thinking about the initial "is Dustin a person or a dog" confusion and how much it reminds me of that episode of B99 where everyone's asking subtle questions to their coworker to understand if Kelly is his wife or dog, like "did you two go on any nice walks recently?" and i can see someone like David trying it and failing
Thank you so much for so many kind words and I’m glad that you’re enjoying the series because I am too! (Also, super impressed you got through it because it’s a lot!). I love that cold opening of Brooklyn 99 and it was the inspiration for that tag.
Also, I love the idea of the first-year teachers trying to figure out if Dustin is a person or a dog. That’s brilliant!
And what’s funny is that David’s not even wrong in this situation.
He is like 99% sure that Dustin is the name of Steve’s brother, but he’s been wrong about literally everything else, so this debate continues into its third week at their table in the teacher’s lounge.
David argues, “I’ve heard him refer to Dustin as a kid.”
“People call their dogs their fur babies all the time,” Marissa argues back. “He’s had that dog for a few years, right? Certainly not a baby anymore so, kid.”
It is not helped by the fact that none of them have any memory of ever hearing Steve address his service dog by name. They’ve heard him call him ‘buddy.’ They’ve heard him say ‘c’mon, pal.’ There was even an unenthused ‘Ozz-some’ last week when Ozzy alerted Steve to an impending seizure during his lunch break.
Have any of them thought of looking at the dog’s collar? No.
They haven’t even considered asking a student.
They are in the middle of this debate when Steve comes into the teacher’s lounge to refill his coffee mug for the third time that day. If he notices that the room goes quiet every time he walks in, he doesn’t make any indication of it when he smiles tiredly, “Hey, guys.”
They murmur their hellos and give each other significant looks, daring the others to ask the important questions. No one asks. No one actually says anything until Steve yawns.
“Long night?”
“Yeah, definitely. Dustin had me up ‘til two in the morning,” Steve yawns again. He doesn’t notice how everybody perks up at that. “Poor guy gets so anxious this time of year.”
“Oh, really?” Marissa asks, giving David a look that says ‘see, dog.’. “Because of the homecoming fireworks?”
Steve hums in agreement and shakes his head like he sometimes does when he’s shaking a memory loose. He’s speaking more to himself when he adds, “I think I’m going to take him to the park after work. Get some fresh air, some exercise. He’s been cooped up for too long.”
“Anyways,” Steve says with a smile, tipping his coffee mug to them. “Gotta get back to grading papers.”

I've been asked to write a post about Georgia's newest Insta stories, all of which (including the text title cards) are in the video above. I'm between events here at the conference, so I will try to get my thoughts down as succinctly as possible.
What seems to have happened is that Georgia dared David to climb a tree, and what we see in the video then ensued. I think what stood out to me most about this is the way David and Georgia are speaking to each other, which seems very different to how we've seen them speak to each other before. In this video, David seemed to really push back in response to Georgia, particularly when she was using her "mom" voice and talking to him like a child as she entreated him to get down from the tree:
"Get down." "You started it, Georgia." "I'm stopping it. Get down." "Oh no you're not. You don't get to do that to me."
I couldn't help but contrast this in my mind with the video Georgia filmed of David at Morrison's last year. How visibly uncomfortable he looked throughout, but despite that, kept on going and didn't say anything or ask her to stop. To go from that to, "You don't get to do that to me" seems like a major leap, and possibly another indication that the dynamic between them has shifted.
It was also interesting to see the difference as she continually pleaded for him to get down, and him seemingly...not believing her? The "Is this not a ploy?" was an interesting comment, as if he's become so used to being a gimmick, to being content for her, that he is now doubting her sincerity. It was hard not to get the feeling that Georgia was panicking less about him possibly falling out of the tree, and more about David not immediately doing exactly what she told him to.
This is not me saying that she wasn't truly worried about him getting hurt, of course, but when you take David's comment into consideration along with the second title card, it just seems disconcerting:
Tumblr media
...I had to read this twice to really make sure I read it correctly. And again, this feels like it reinforces what we saw above, with Georgia not being able to handle David pushing back: The idea that she would be (and is) more concerned about her own image and her coming across as unappealing than anything else.
Which we again saw with the last title card and the ending of the story being that "the wife was listened to. All was right with the world." That was apparently the victory here more than anything else, at least for Georgia. And she is very good at not making this the most visible thing on the surface, but once you really think about what she is saying (he's 53 years old and embarrassing and has delusions of grandure grandeur), it starts to become a lot more apparent.
So those are my thoughts on the video. I could be wrong about all of the above, but this was what I took from it. I'm glad it all turned out well, though, and to see how proud David seemed of himself once he did get down from the tree (and him wearing that adorable stripey sweater again). Happy to hear from folks in the comments as well with your thoughts...

The Lost Boys + Severen With A Socially Anxious Reader
Note: This was a request from @slasher-male-wife. (I will link the original ask here) Thank you so much for this request! I can't apologize enough for taking over a freaking year to post... I kinda fell off the face of the earth for a while (mental health reasons) but I hope you see this and enjoy it though! I intended for this to be out waaayyy sooner, I'm so so sorry for an absurdly long wait 😑.... (also I hope this title is fine and I think I say this every time, but I hope the boys personalities seem pretty fitting and also that I title this as a socially anxious reader...)
Pairing(s): The Lost Boys x reader, Severen x reader
Warning(s): None except for one mention of weed and maybe a curse word or two. If I missed any please feel free to let me know!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
David (TLB)
Your initial shyness is actually what drew him to you. It intrigued him. He wanted to break that shell you hid inside and obviously what was inside was an exceptionally attractive person.
It's no lie the moment he first saw you he thought you were incredibly attractive, and of course that meant he had to have you.
He can be a giant asshole, but David never puts you down for being awkward or feeling anxious. You make him soft in that sense.
However, that isn’t to say he hasn’t ever hit a nerve with you. He wants to support you, but he isn’t exactly the best at it. So there have been a few times where he’ll simply tell you to just ‘act like yourself’ in public.
Oh, how you wish it was that easy.
He doesn’t really understand the whole social anxiety thing. But of course, this is from someone who doesn’t give a single fuck what people think of him.
There’s also a possessive part of him, you’re like a little gem to him that only he gets to see. Only he gets to see the real you and that’s only reserved for him. It’s kind of an ego boost for him. And perhaps not the healthiest view in the world.
David does grow soft around you (whether he'll admit it or not, he isn't as subtle as he thinks he is about it) and will feel a little bad if he sees you try to talk to someone and you end up stuttering or stumbling over words though.
He loves to see your lively side. Taking you on bike rides, whooping and hollering along the way with the other boys and he is so very glad to call you his.
Dwayne (TLB)
Dwanye thinks the shy side of you is pretty adorable.
He’s very understanding of your emotions (probably the most understanding of the boys) and unlike David is very good at discussing them.
When he notices you start to stumble over words or zone out in public, he’ll often grab your hand or wrap an arm around you and pull you close as an attempt to reassure you and help you feel more at ease.
Very protective bf.
Very willing to help you overcome the anxiety.
But as much as he wants to see you act the same way in public as you do around him, he’s never going to push you into a situation that would overwhelm you.
You were super intimidated by Dwayne when you first met him. And also incredibly attracted to him.
It took some time for him to get you comfortable around him, he was so gentle with you, and it took you aback to see his wild side as Dwayne has the capacity to be so incredibly calm and on the other side, he can be completely rowdy and wild.
Paul (TLB)
Let's just get this out of the way, Paul’s solution to your shyness and awkwardness?
WEED.
He’s a big believer in the power of the bud. However, if this isn’t something you choose to partake in or feel comfortable doing, he won’t force you. If you do great!
Oh, he may whine a bit and try to convince you it’ll help, but he’ll back off if you insist.
Otherwise, Paul is probably about the best person to be around next to Dwayne. His presence alone is almost like a security blanket. You feel more at ease with him at your side.
Paul loves you to death, and he wishes you would act the way you do when it’s just the two of you, but he understands it isn’t that simple, so he won’t force you to do anything you don’t want to.
He knows people would love the smart, silly, lovable you that you are in private and he’s more than willing to help you reach that goal.
So he LOVES to dote on you and brag about you to just about everybody he passes by, talking you up is like a hobby for him.
It took him a minute to understand why you act this way, but he latched on pretty quickly.
Marko (TLB) (of course the only gif I found that fit good was one without Marko :I)
Marko likes to poke some fun at you for acting all shy, remarking that you aren’t that way around him.
He also finds it entertaining to embarrass you the slightest bit in public.
It makes you upset with your boyfriend when he does this, even if it isn't out of malice.
He seems to think if he can get a rise out of you in public that it might help you forget the stiff feeling and anxiety. that you'll realize that you're ok and no one probably even cares as much as you think they might.
In reality when you have gone off on him and someone glances over you feel like you want to crawl into a hole even more than you did before.
Marko gets frustrated. Why can’t you just be you with everyone else? Especially when you act perfectly normal around him.
That's one thing he'll never fully quite grasp the concept of your stiffness around strangers. He's quite capable of coming around after he's gotten over himself, but out of all the boys he seems to struggle the most with this.
He isn't beyond being encouraging, but it's a vicious cycle you have to contend with. You often have to sit him down to explain how he can best help you to be more comfortable and why you have such a hard time in public. After which he settles down and can focus on just being there for you.
Severen
Shy? Never heard of her.
This man is your complete opposite. Well, at least the opposite of what you project to the public.
An outsider would suspect you two to be the least likely pair in the world.
Severen thinks the shyness is very amusing and innocent and yes, he will tease the shit out of you for it. He almost feeds off of it.
Seriousness is very seldom part of this man’s outlook on life.
Don’t be deceived, he isn’t unsympathetic to your anxiousness. But he wants you to partake in all the wild and crazy with him.
He is quite content that he gets to know the real you though. Even if the rest of the world doesn’t get to see it.
“C’mon, sugar, you don’t act like this when it’s just the two of us…”
But because he loves you, he tries to show you there’s no reason to sit back and watch from the side lines.
He will drag you out onto the rowdy dance floor of a hole in the wall bar when he sees you sitting there, eyes as big as saucers.
Over time you will probably overcome some of the awkwardness simply by being exposed to everything that’s the opposite of that.

Reassurances
Requested Here!
Pairing: Dominique Luca x fem!reader
Summary: Luca's fellow S.W.A.T. members tease him for dating someone who is younger and out of his league. Though he knows they mean well, sometimes he needs your reassurances.
Warnings: brief angst, insecurities, teasing, fluffy comfort!!
Word Count: 1.7k+ words
A/N: Luca deserves all the love!!! He gives the best hugs in the world, I just know it. (Sorry if he's OOC, this is my first time writing for him, but I will be adding him to my character list if anyone has more requests for him!)
Tumblr media
“Luca! Your daught- sorry, your girlfriend’s here, cradle robber!” Rocker calls when he sees you.
“Knock it off, Rocker,” Hondo replies, turning to Luca to add, “The brainwashed model is here.”
“Guys,” Deacon chides. “Take it easy.”
“Thank you, Deac,” you say, waving as you walk past them to the situation room.
“Hey, what’re you doing here?” Luca asks, pulling you into a hug.
“Just wanted to see you. I was in the neighborhood,” you answer, practically melting at Luca's touch.
“You’re sure everything’s okay?” he checks, pulling back to look at your face.
Smiling as you look into his icy blue eyes, you nod.
“Oh, I got you something while I was out this morning,” you remember. “Want it now or later?”
Luca’s gaze flits over your shoulder, looking at his team and a few members of 50-David not so inconspicuously watching you. “Later sounds good.”
“Luca,” you say quietly, “you know they’re just teasing.”
“Yeah, yeah, I know.” Forcing a smile back on his face, Luca returns his full attention to you. “What else do you have planned today?”
“Not much. I’m probably gonna go sit at your house and wait for you to get home.”
Luca chews the inside of his bottom lip, debating if he should tell you that you can do whatever you want and that you don’t have to make special trips to see him.
“Hey,” you say, tapping his chest. “I want to see you. But if you’re busy, that’s fine.”
“No, ‘s not that, just…”
“Luca, I want to.”
Luca nods, his eyes and smile dropping as you approach him. Wrapping your arms around his waist, you squeeze him tightly.
“Okay, I get it,” he says through a laugh, tapping your back.
“I’ll see you tonight, then?” you ask, tilting your chin to catch his eyes.
“See you tonight,” he assures, rubbing between your shoulder blades.
As you exit S.W.A.T. HQ, you’re glad Rocker left already. 20-David’s teasing is clearly all in good fun, but Rocker always takes it too far, instilling doubts in Luca. You will never grow tired of reminding him that you love him, want him, and will choose him over and over for the rest of your life, but sometimes you want to put the other S.W.A.T. members in their place.
✯✯✯✯✯
While you get comfortable at Luca’s house, he counts the minutes until he can pull you into his arms again.
“Big plans tonight?” Deacon asks.
“Just a night in,” Luca answers.
“Only option at your age, isn’t it?” Street jokes.
Luca doesn’t reply, and Street looks at Tan. The rest of 20-David shake their heads at each other, acknowledging that they took it a step too far.
“Luca, I didn’t-“ Street begins.
“It’s good,” Luca answers, closing his locker. “See you tomorrow, guys.”
“Bye, Luca,” Deacon calls. He turns toward Hondo, who shrugs.
“We may need to lay off him for a few days,” Hondo suggests.
“Trouble in paradise?” Rocker asks as he enters the locker room. “She remember there’s guys who don’t need to early bird discount?”
When no one replies, Rocker raises his head and asks, “Is he okay?”
“We don’t know,” Street answers, looking at Luca’s locker. “But he has to be. If he’s not, it’s our fault.”
✯✯✯✯✯
The door opens, and you rush to greet Luca, wrapping your arms around him as he closes the door. You know something is wrong when his arms don’t immediately circle you.
“Luca,” you say softly, pushing your fingers through his hair, disturbing the gel he put in it this morning. “Do you want to talk about it?”
He shakes his head, his shoulders lowered and drawn toward each other.
“Do you want to sit with me for a while? I, for one, could use some good company.”
“You could get better company,” Luca whispers.
Sighing, you wrap your hands around Luca’s arm, leading him to the couch. After you push him to sit, you turn toward the kitchen to get him a drink, but his hand leaps up and catches your wrist. The questioning look in his eye, like he thinks you are leaving him, is enough to break your heart. Kneeling before the couch, you raise your hands to Luca’s cheeks.
“Look at me?” you request.
When he lifts his tired, glassy eyes to you, you silence. You’re not immune to insecurities - no one really is - but seeing Luca questioning you and your relationship like this is especially painful.
“You’re all I’ll ever want,” you promise. “I will choose you, Luca, every single day.”
Luca shakes his head, and you gently press your hands against his cheeks as you comfort him.
“You wanna know something about me?” Luca’s gaze raises back to your face, and you say, “I could marry you right now.”
Sniffling, Luca leans closer to you. Moving your hands down to either side of his neck, you lean between his knees, pressing your weight into the couch.
“The guys,” Luca begins, taking a shaky breath. “I know they’re just teasing, but they’re right about so much, you know?”
“No, I don’t. Tell me what you think they’re right about.”
“You’re too young for me, way out of my league… You could do better than me.”
“Can I ask a question, and promise not to take it the wrong way?”
Luca shrugs, and you crack a small smile.
“You have to at least say you’ll try,” you add.
“I’ll try.”
“Why’s it bothering you so much today? Some days you roll with the punches, and joke with them. Today was different, though. Did something change?”
Dropping his chin, Luca presses his face against your arm beside his jaw.
“It’s me, right?” you ask. “You realized you’re in way better shape than me, that this whole time you’ve been out of my league.”
“What?” Luca mumbles against your forearm.
“I mean, you work out all the time for work, chasing down bad guys and jumping out of helicopters. You got tired of my joints cracking every time I stand up, right?”
“That’s ridiculous,” Luca says with a chuckle.
“Exactly.”
Luca shakes his head, and you wipe a stray tear from his cheek. You stand, keeping your hands on him as a tangible promise that you’re not going anywhere. Luca looks up at you from the couch, following your movement.
“I mean it,” you reiterate, “I could marry you right now. Dressed like this, and that’s saying a lot.”
Dressed in a stretched-out t-shirt that once belonged to Luca and your favorite, comfiest bottoms, you hope you’re getting your point across.
“How are you not tired of me yet?” Luca asks. “We have this conversation too often.”
“I don’t mind telling you how I feel. Luca, I love you, and I will scream it from the rooftops… maybe not this rooftop because you moved to a neighborhood filled with known gangs.”
You sigh as Luca finally returns your hug, wrapping his arms around your waist and pushing a hand under your shirt to press against your back.
“Tell me,” you murmur.
“I know you love me,” he answers. Moving his hand further up your spine, he adds, “And I love you.”
You smile, turning to sit beside Luca. He leans against you, his eyes stuck to yours as he smiles.
“Don’t ever listen to Rocker, he’s an idiot. I don’t know how he got married before you.”
“Maybe he’s the one that brainwashed somebody.”
Chuckling, you agree with Luca before remembering the surprise you got him. Moving out from underneath him, you disappear into the guest bedroom, and when you reemerge, Luca is watching for you.
“It’s not much,” you begin, “but I got you this.”
Luca pulls you back onto the couch before extending his hand. You lay the small package in his palm, turning to watch him open it.
As Luca removes the paper hiding the gift, you realize you are the lucky one in this relationship regardless of what he thinks about who is out of whose league.
Luca moves his hand to catch the two toys that fall toward his lap. Turning them over, he smiles as he looks at the diecast cars.
“Is this supposed to be Black Betty?” he asks, raising the vintage Hot Wheels S.W.A.T. van.
“I saw it and thought of you. Like I said it’s not much, but-“
“It’s perfect,” Luca interjects. “You’re perfect.”
Leaning toward him, you take the van from his hand so he can examine the matching police car.
“You deserve nice things, Luca,” you remind him. “And you deserve to be happy with whoever you want, no matter what your team says.”
Luca nods, setting the cars on the table before pulling you into his arms. He doesn’t always have the words to say, but his actions and everything he does for you show you that he loves you and wants you, even when thinking he doesn’t deserve you.
✯✯✯✯✯
When you walk into S.W.A.T. HQ the next week, after receiving a less-than-informative text from Luca, you cross your fingers that any teasing he encounters won’t push him as far as last time.
“Somebody get a chair lift for Luca! He needs to get to another level before she realizes she left him behind!” Street yells when he sees you.
Luca hears the commotion as Tan and Hondo join in on the teasing and rushes out to meet you. He hugs you, keeping an arm around your shoulders as he leads you toward the situation room.
“What’s it like dating someone who’s so far out of your league?” Rocker asks, a teasing smile on his face.
“At least we have standards and didn’t scrape the bottom of the dating barrel,” Luca replies, “but that’s more of your thing, right?”
Rocker’s jaw drops, and you press your lips together to stifle a laugh. 20-David, however, doesn’t try to hide their amusement, turning their teasing to Rocker as they follow him out of the ring.
“That was unexpected,” you say, smiling as Luca continues walking again.
“Still want to marry me?”
“Of course,” you answer without hesitation. “Wait, right now?”
Luca raises his brows, smiling as he runs his tongue over his bottom lip. “Not what I meant, but why not? You’re all I’ll ever want.”
Luca cups your jaw, and you whisper, “Reassurances are my job.”

Fool For You (David Von Erich x Reader x Kerry Von Erich)
Words: 4,046
Summary: A tale old as time; an angsty love triangle. Requested by @richiejerimovichh ! Thanks for being patient hun!
Tumblr media
“Oh, finally. Y/N’s here!” You could hear in the distance as you walked up the long Von Erich dirt driveway. You already wore a grin on your face as you heard a scuffle of shoes approaching like a pack of wild animals.
It was hard to really explain how you found yourself as an unofficial member of the Von Erich clan. Really, it had more to do with vicinity; your parents knew Fritz and Doris and you went to the same school as all the brothers. You were at the Sportatorium for every show, like most of your old classmates, and even got a job there taking tickets after your senior year. That turned into becoming a member of the office, which turned into befriending the Von Erichs, which turned into late night burger joints and shakes and family dinners. Pretty soon, you were letting yourself into their home and getting greeted just like any other family member.
Mike had been the voice you heard, and the relief was evident all over his face; he and his brothers had been playing football and you were–hopefully–his way out.
“I’m so happy to see you.” He told you breathlessly, nearly falling into your arms. You laughed as you hugged him back, steadying him on his feet.
“This ain’t over yet, Mike.” Kevin warned, giving his brother a playful push so he could hug you in greeting next. “Dave and I ain’t done with you and Kerry yet. Hey, Y/N. Did you pick up a movie for movie night?”
“Kevin, movie night isn’t until a few more days. I’ve got time! Can’t you take it one day at a time like the rest of us?” You teased, making Mike laugh. “So, I see I’m just in time. Who’s winning?”
“Who do you think?” David was approaching quickly, a bright light in his eyes, eyes that were locked solely on you. Just the sight of him set a swarm of butterflies loose in your chest. “I sure am glad to see your pretty face. It’s a sight for sore eyes around here.” He said just before he swept you up into a hug that brought you off your feet.
Where to start with David…and where did it end?
Kevin was like the older brother you always wanted, always keeping you dutifully on your toes and there for you with advice when you needed it. Mike was like the baby brother you always wanted, and he looked to you for the advice and comfort. It was the best of both worlds. But David…
David was just so funny and charismatic. He had a quiet assuredness to him that you always admired. So, the fact that he always seemed to have his eyes on you made your heart skip a beat. The passenger’s seat in his truck was your designated seat; he wouldn’t let anyone else have it. If ever you and his brothers went anywhere, it was unspoken that you were riding with him. He saved you a seat at the dinner table next to him, his coat was the one offered if you got chilly.
And yet, despite all of that, despite him constantly driving you home and spending any spare chance he got in your office while you worked, that seemed to be all it was. Sure, there were lingering looks. His hand touching yours a second too long. He had drunkenly kissed your cheek an inch from your mouth one night, but any solid admittance of romantic feelings? There was none.
So were you wrong in thinking maybe there was more to it? Maybe. Did it stop you from hoping? Not a chance. And if that made you foolish, then you were the biggest fool.
“You won’t be winning for long.” Another voice brought you out of your thoughts. You glanced over David’s shoulder and finally saw Kerry, who, curiously, also only eyed you.
“Shoot. Wanna bet, brother?” David said, almost reluctantly placing you back on the ground. Kerry approached you and gave you a tight hug, one that lingered longer than you were expecting.
“Hey, Y/N. Missed you.” He murmured softly, close to your ear. It sent a shiver up your spine.
“Hey, Kerry.” You replied, left mystified as he finally let go. The touch of his skin left yours tingling. You weren’t quite sure if you were imagining the glare on David’s features.
“Are you joining us, Y/N?” Mike asked hopefully. You managed to smile again, shaking off the last interaction.
“No, sorry, buddy. I’m gonna help your mom set up dinner. Kev, is Pam comin’?” Kevin nodded in the affirmative. You turned to Kerry. “What about Becky?”
Becky was Kerry’s most recent girlfriend. You had only met her once, the first time he had brought her around the family. She was beautiful, such a vibrant bubbly person that made you just want to be a better person. Kerry looked away at your question.
“Nah. We’re not together anymore.” His response was quiet. It felt like tripping into a hidden hole in the grass and you wished you hadn’t asked.
“Oh…I’m sorry to hear that.” You replied. Kerry now looked right at you, his eyes clear.
“Don’t be.” You blinked. Now, you were certain the glare on David’s face was real.
“C’mon! Less chit chat, let’s finish this game.” David interrupted gruffly. You left them to their game, chuckling a little at the exasperation on Mike’s face.
After dinner, once you finally convinced Doris to let you do the dishes and shooed off Pam to enjoy some of Kevin’s company, you were scrubbing plates in a comfortable silence.
“You know, it goes by faster if two people do it.” You gasped and dropped the plate you were holding into the suds and water.
“Kerry? Don’t scare me like that!” You scolded. He approached your side with a chuckle, leaning against the counter. “I’m all good, really. Don’t you and your brothers have a show to be preparing for?”
“Exactly. We’re leaving in an hour. You’re coming to watch, right?” You gave a nod. “Okay, so let’s get it done faster.” He pleaded with you with his eyes and you sighed.
“Fine. You dry. And you better be better than Mike at polishing these forks.” You warned. Kerry chuckled again.
“Yes, ma’am.”
Soon, the comfortable silence was back, this time with the addition of Kerry, his large arm touching yours as you both worked diligently. But soon, with each plate, you felt the urge to speak nearly consuming you.
“So,” you said finally after clearing your throat. “I know you said not to be, but I really am sorry about bringing up Becky. I had no idea.” You apologized. Kerry was shaking his head.
“I meant it, Y/N. No need to be sorry.”
“So, what happened? She was a really great girl.” Kerry shrugged.
“Yeah…I don’t know. As great as she was, she just wasn’t really the one.” You gave a small chuckle.
“Well, Kerry, you hardly gave her a chance. How would you know?” He paused, looking over at you.
“You just do sometimes. I didn’t feel that with her. She didn’t really like the wrestling part of everything, so it wouldn’t have worked in the long run…and…I guess I realized I was never going to be fair anyways.” You frowned.
“What do you mean?” He looked away, giving another shrug.
“I was always comparing her to someone else. And wishing I was with her instead.”
He looked at you again, putting the plate he was drying down and turning entirely to face you. You felt your words get caught in your throat and your heart speed up nervously.
“Oh, um…well.” You sputtered out. “A lot of guys make the mistake of not taking a leap and speaking up about how they feel.”
“I know.” Kerry replied. “I’ve seen it. I don’t wanna make the same mistake.” He continued to stare at you and you could’ve sworn he was moving closer.
“Hey, darling, should I wear the red and blue jacket tonight or the black and gold–” David had entered the kitchen and stopped short at the sight of Kerry next to you. You watched his eyes narrow. “What’s going on?”
“Oh, nothing. Just helping Y/N with the dishes. She shouldn’t do all the heavy lifting.” Kerry replied. You nearly elbowed him.
“No, and she doesn’t. That’s what I’m around for. I think Y/N’s capable enough of washing dishes without you slowing her down.” David replied.
“I really don’t mind!” You cut in, but the brothers continued to stare at each other. The tension in the air was growing thick. “It’s the least I can do for always free-loading around here.”
“It’s a little dumb of you to think a woman should wash the dishes, Dave.” Kerry challenged.
“I never said she should! I know she’s her own person and better than anyone, I know she doesn’t need anyone’s help for anything. She’s not some helpless doll, and the last thing she needs is your help.”
“Just because she doesn’t need it doesn’t mean she should always have to do it on her own.”
“I’d gladly wash the dishes for her if she asked me too, you’re putting words in my mouth! Who’s the one always making sure she gets a plate full of food first or opening the door for her? Who picks up lunch for her every day of the week while she’s working so she doesn’t have to?” David was beginning to yell, and if you weren't the subject, you would have found the entire thing ridiculously amusing. Half of you wanted to laugh at the sudden absurdity and the other half of you was mortified.
“What’s going on?” Kevin demanded as he came into the kitchen. Pam was looking knowingly between Kerry and David before shooting you a sympathetic look that made your face grow warm. “C’mon, Kerry, why don’t you have your bag? We’re gonna be late.”
“You know the red is my favorite.” You said to David after Kerry left up the stairs. He looked a little abashed now that it was just the two of you, fiddling with his fingers and avoiding your eyes.
“Look, Y/N, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean I think it’s your place to do the dishes or something. That was really stupid of me to say, I didn't mean–”
“I know.” You reassured him. He glanced up at you and his mouth opened to say more. You held your breath, waiting to see, but he closed it again.
“I should get my stuff.” He muttered, heading up the stairs. You sighed a little, looking around the little kitchen, aghast.
***
At the Sportatorium, you took your seat in the front in between Mike and Pam.
“Everything okay?” Pam asked you. You were jumpy and flinched when she touched your arm.
“Huh? Oh. Uh…I think so.” You sighed. “I hope so.” You tacked on under your breath. Soon, the main event was on and the brothers were making their way to the ring for a six-man tag match.
Kevin passed first, giving you a nod and a quick kiss to Pam. Then David, who gave you his yellow rose and a kiss to the top of the head, his red jacket matching your cheeks. But when Kerry came, you weren’t expecting him to stop and wrap his arms around you in a hug, nor were you expecting the kiss to your cheek. You didn't even feel the glares from all the women surrounding you; the only thing you could focus on what the way David had frozen and was now staring in outrage at Kerry.
“Uh oh,” you heard Mike mutter beside you, voicing your thoughts out loud. Suddenly, David took a step towards Kerry and shoved his chest.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing? You think I don’t know what you’re doing?” You heard him yell, and noticed a few fans giving the brothers confused looks. Kerry swatted David’s hand away before giving him a shove back.
“Stop it!” You hissed at them, to no avail. It was as if you suddenly weren’t even there. Thankfully, Kevin had turned back and given both of them stern slaps to the shoulder before stepping between them.
“Cut it out right now, we have a match to do.” You heard him scolding parentally, not before sending an exasperated look in your direction. You felt yourself shrinking lower.
“Oh god…this is my fault.” You mumbled to yourself, burying your face in your hands and sinking down in your seat.
“Oh, honey, this is not your fault.” Pam told you quickly, rubbing your shoulders comfortingly. “This is just two grown men acting like silly little boys.”
“Yeah, it’s not your fault they’re acting like kids.” Mike added helpfully, looking desperate to cheer you up. “You can’t blame yourself just because Kerry likes you too.”
“Too?!” you exclaimed. “What are you talking about?” Mike looked genuinely bewildered and Pam once again looked sympathetic. “When did this even happen, how?”
“Oh, honey.” She merely repeated, shaking her head. Your head was spinning.
“Pretty sure Dave knows about Kerry too, but he’s been pretending he doesn’t notice because it’s not really a secret that he likes you." Mike started to try to explain, but you were barely keeping up. "So he’s expecting Kerry to back off because you know, brothers and everything but—"
“If he didn’t know before, which he did, he does now.” Pam said, her eyes watching as David and Kerry appeared to continue arguing from where they stood on the ring apron with Kevin in the ring.
“First of all, David’s never even asked me out.” You replied finally.
“That’s what I said!” Mike seemed to defend himself. “But he just says he’s waiting for the right time. We think he’s kinda nervous you do actually like Kerry. Do you?” You blinked several times again.
“Oh my god…these boys.” You sighed, burying your head again.
You continued to watch the match unfold through squinted eyes that were further blocked with your hands, nervous that at any point David and Kerry were going to start swinging on each other instead of their opponents. Pam had her arm looped through yours, a helpful anchor keeping you from floating away. Thankfully, they seemed to be fine, and only you, Pam, and Mike were aware of the coldness between Kerry and David. As soon as Kevin got the pin, Kerry left the ring, ignoring fans all the way to the dressing room. David wasn’t far behind him, leaving Kevin to slap fans hands and sign autographs.
“I’ve got to fix this.” You said, to yourself more than anyone else. Mike and Pam were on your heels, but you all stopped short at the sound of two voices thundering inside the dressing room. You winced.
“Mike, please go in there and grab Kerry for me.” You begged. Mike’s eyes widened.
“So it is Kerry?”
“Michael, please! Before they do something!” He snapped out of it and dutifully ducked into the room. You cringed as the yelling only picked up, ten times worse. There was a clattering sound of something metal hitting something.
“I can’t tell if you’re the best thing that happened to this family…or the worst.” You jumped at the sound of Kevin’s voice behind you and groaned at his words. Thankfully, he seemed to have a half humorous grin on his face. Pam hit his shoulder lightly, shaking her head in disapproval.
“This is not her fault!” She insisted. Kevin shook his head.
“No, I know. Took everything in me to keep them from going at each other in the ring.” He muttered, looking towards the dressing room with a grimace. You groaned.
“Kev…I’m not trying to do this! The last thing I want is to get between them. I don’t want to be the reason they hate each other; if that’s the case, I’ll remove myself from this situation.”
“Hey! No one wants you to leave.” Kevin said. “We love each other to death. That just means sometimes we fight too. But we always work it out. Dave and Kerry are just gonna have to accept whatever decision you make. And they’ll have to respect it.” You let out a breath you didn’t know you were holding. Kerry came out of the dressing room at the moment. The second he left, the door slammed shut behind him, presumably David’s doing.
“After I talk with Kerry, can you make sure you stick around waiting in the parking lot?” You lowered your voice to Pam and Kevin. You knew instantly Pam understood. Kevin opened his mouth in question, but she pressed a finger to his lips.
“We got it.” She assured you, and gave your arm a squeeze. As they walked away, Kerry approached. It was just the two of you in the dingy backstage hallway.
“Hey,” Kerry said lightly, a small smile on his face. “Mike said you wanted to see me.”
“I did…” you said, before you sighed. “Listen, Kerry…I…” you looked from the smile on his face to your shoes and the scuffs on the ground next to them. You traced circles around the marks with the toe of your shoe.
“Let me stop you for one second, Y/N.” Kerry said. You frowned a little.
“But, Kerry—“
“Just listen, please. Y/N…I can’t stop thinking about you. I can’t. All those girls out there on the way to the ring, it’s like they’re not there. All I see is your face. I dreamt about you the other night. We were together in a house of our own, just making breakfast. I mean, I know we’ve been friends for a while and everything but…I really care about you. It’s just what I meant, about Becky. I couldn’t see it working out no matter how much I tried, but with you…” You bit your lip, still unable to look up, knowing the scuffs on the floor were going to be committed to your memory forever. “Y/N?” You felt his fingers tilt your chin up gently and looked into his side eyes, like a beautiful sunny day. You allowed yourself for a second to jump into them, imagining what that path could bring. The breakfast he had mentioned, the house. Knowing every time you stepped out with him, he was the envy of every woman around you. The passion that he carried for everything and every goal would now also be geared towards you and loving you so completely and fully.
And it still didn’t feel right. Because you could see it all; the picturesque home, a loving embrace, maybe even a family of your own…but Kerry wasn’t the person in your dream.
“Kerry, I’m sorry. I don’t feel that way for you.” You whispered. “I’m sorry. I’ll always care for you as a person, but I can’t be your person.” He stared back unwaveringly, and to his credit, he nodded his head and stepped back.
“I understand that. I’m…sorry if I ruined any of the kindness you have in your heart towards me, or made you uncomfortable, I just thought that…” he sighed and straightened up again. “I should be honest. I’ll work real hard to make everything right again, alright?”
“It’s okay, Kerry. Consider this conversation forgotten.” He grinned a little.
“I do feel a little stupid now, though.” He admitted, making you laugh. “I should have known it was always David.” Just at his name alone, those familiar butterflies rushed back. You smiled.
“I really need to see him. Kevin and Pam should be waiting out back for you and Mike. I need to talk to David.” Kerry nodded, and you knocked on the dressing room door. Mike’s face appeared, looking eager for some kind of update.
“I need to talk to David.” You told him. He looked over your head to where Kerry was waiting. “Alone.”
“Oh…uh. Right.” Mike replied, still looking confused, but quickly leaving the room to join Kerry. You walked in and shut the door behind you before taking in the surroundings. There was a chair laying on the floor next to the wall, seemingly laying there after being thrown if the dent in the wall was any clue. David was sitting in another chair, one hand pressed to his mouth and the other wrapped around his midsection. He was staring at the floor, one leg shaking.
“Hey…” you murmured, not taking a step. There was a long pause.
“Y/N, you really don’t have to do this.” He said finally. “I don’t need a little pep talk, or for you to tell me how great I am but just not the right one or something. I’m a big boy, I’ll be just fine with your decision.” You frowned.
“David…”
“Really.” He said, looking up at you. “I mean, it’s Kerry for crying out loud. I get it, alright? I mean, I’ve seen every day how girls look at him. He’s great. I’m not mad, I promise. I’ll be happy for you both.”
“David, wait, seriously—“
“No, I don’t want you trying to make me feel better, Y/N.” He stood suddenly as if he couldn’t contain himself in the chair any longer. “It’s really my own fault anyways. You’re one helluva lady, you know that? Every day, I just look at you and I can’t believe you’re real. And in front of me, just sorta breathing the same air as me. I just can’t get enough of you, and I should have done something about it sooner, but I’ll admit I was scared, alright? Because you’re way out of my league, but I should have made it known. I should have told you time and time again every second how I felt, I should have treated you like it. But I just want you to be happy. I swear it. And at the end of the day, if it’s with my own brother, then that’s fine. I know he’ll take care of you.” Despite his words, you could see the unhappiness burning in his eyes. You couldn’t help but admire every word coming from his mouth, you couldn’t help but stare at his mouth, desperate to shut him up with a kiss.
“Are you finished?” You asked. His face frowned and you couldn’t help but chuckle. “Now, what on earth did Mike tell you?” David’s frown deepened.
“That you needed to talk to Kerry.”
“Okay. Is that all?” He frowned even further.
“He just started consoling me and telling me it ain’t your fault, which I never said it was—I would never blame you. Then some, you know, run of the mill peppy speech about fish in the sea…” At this point, you gave an outright laugh. “Oh, now you’re laughing at me?”
“You and Mike really should learn not to jump to conclusions so quickly. Didn’t your father ever tell you about making assumptions?” David’s face melted slowly from confusion to a hopeful wide eyed wonder.
“…What are you saying?”
“I love Kerry, but not like that. Not like…how I’ve always felt about you.”
David crossed the room within the blink of an eye and suddenly hoisted you into the air, his face buried against your neck, his arms encasing you against him.
“Oh, Y/N…oh man. You had me losing my mind.” He admitted, voice muffled against your skin. “You mean it?” He asked, leaning back to check your expression.
“Do you?” You demanded cheekily. “On second thought, maybe you should listen to Mike more. I’m still waiting for you to ask me out, David Von Erich.” David's head tilted back in laughter.
“You got it, darling, I’m not wastin’ a second more. How about this Friday?”
“That’s movie night; Kev’s not gonna be too happy with that.” You replied, giggling. David laughed again, and the both of you seemed dizzied in relief and euphoria, gripping each other tightly with the hands and yet, weak at the knees.
“Well, Kev’s just gonna have to deal with it. We’ll do movie night another night.” David said, placing you back on the ground and kissing the top of your head. Finally, finally, everything felt right.

While we're chatting about this shit, you know what's NOT talked about enough? The smack in the face the new world must have been to Edwin. He got sent to hell in what? 1917? Came back at I believe 1989 right?? Phones, TV, radios, cars, etc? That boy must have had panic attacks stepping out into the new world with Charles.
You are absolutely, 100% right about this and I am pretty sure video games would baffle Edwin, cars would terrify him and phones might make him glad to have missed that particular trend, but what I really, REALLY want to have Charles show him is Labyrinth (1986) with David Bowie.
It's probably just my own obsession with that movie, but the thought of Charles sitting Edwin down like, okay, so this was my favourite movie when I was 13, it's got everything you could ever want: weird fantasy plot, puppets, David Bowie.
And then Edwin sits there for an hour and a half, trying not to stare at Jareth's crotch is absolute high comedy for me.
(also, afterwards Charles asks him, excited as he always is, how Edwin liked it, and oh dear, that is a difficult question to answer. Edwin takes a moment to think about it and supposedly it was quite compelling. Interesting story telling, strange, but still enjoyable musical numbers and a quite compelling job from the costume department, which might be a strange thing to notice.
He says yes, and Charles lights up like Edwin has just given him the greatest gift in the world.
The next Halloween (because Charles always insists they dress up, it's tradition), Charles goes as Jareth and Edwin isn't quite sure why he feels so lightheaded the entire night.)

Panthera Tigris Tigris Nikos
Jaune: Hey, Pyrrha? Can I have a hug?
Pyrrha: Of course, Jaune! (Hugs)
Jaune: (Sinks into her)
Pyrrha: Would anyone else like-
Nora: (Dragging Ren) MEMEMEME~!
Fun Fact! Bengal tigers are big. Females have been documented to reach 400 pounds, males 500 pounds, and occasionally larger specimens reaching 700 pounds. Royal Bengal Tigers are reportedly even bigger, with one specimen shot by David Hasinger in 1967 was reported to be 857 pounds, measured at 11 feet long, and left paw prints "the size of dinner plates," and it's last meal was a live water buffalo weighed down by an eighty-pound weight. It is displayed in the Smithsonian Institutions's National Museum of Natural History, in the Hall of Mammals.
---------------------------------------------------
Pyrrha: Ready for our run, Jaune?
Jaune: You bet! Maybe this time I could-
Pyrrha: (Ear flicks) Oh, uh, why don't you keep warming up, Jaune? I need to grab something from the dorm.
Jaune: Oh, uh, sure thing, Pyrrha. I'll be right here.
Cardin: (Sitting on the roof) What the hell? Where's Nikos go- (Door swings open, Mauled)
Fun Fact! Bengal Tigers are fast. They can make short sprints of forty miles per hour, which is about the speed of a thoroughbred horse. An incident with a startled tigress mother with her cubs in Nepal in 1974 resulted in the death of a researcher who was hiding 15 feet in a tree. In 2007, on Christmas Day at the San Francisco Zoo, an Amur Tiger cleared a thirty-foot moat to maul three visitors who were harassing the tiger, killing one of them before being killed after four shots to the skull by responding police officer's .40-caliber-pistol rounds. It should be noted that the Amur was a captive tiger, raised from birth in the zoo. Imagine a wild tiger raised in the jungle.
---------------------------------------------------
Pyrrha: Are you okay, Jaune?
Jaune: Y-Yeah, I... Wait, what about the goliath?!
Pyrrha: It's okay, Jaune. I took care of it.
Jaune: But how, Pyrrha? (Holding) Your weapons-!
Pyrrha: (Takes, Smiles) I took care of it.
Jaune: (Looks behind her, Sees dead goliath)
Fun Fact! Bengal Tigers are strong. Their bite force can reach up to a thousand pounds, which is much stronger than a pitbull's and about a quarter of a great white shark. Their prey includes deer, buffalo, bison, bears, rhinos, and elephants. A single blow can break a bear's spine, and easily decapitate a human.
---------------------------------------------------
Jaune: Thanks again for letting us come visit, Mrs. Nikos.
Mama Nikos: Oh, Jaune, don't be so formal. We're practically family, so just call me Mama.
Jaune: Uh... No, I'll just stick with Mrs. Nikos, if you don't mind.
Mama Nikos: Oh, you are just so polite! I'm glad Pyrrha could have such a handsome team leader like you.
Pyrrha: (Blushing) M-Mom...
Nora: Can I have more meat buns, Mama?
Ren: Nora...
Nora: Oh, right! Khm! May I have more meat buns, Mama?
Mama Nikos: They're in the oven.
Jaune: So what do you do for a living, Mrs. Nikos?
Mama Nikos: I'm a personal fitness trainer. It's actually how I met Pyrrha's father. He said he could perform a perfect double twister kick, and I told him it was impossible unless he could twist and launch himself at a 167 degree rotation with a north-northwest gale blowing at 3.5 miles per hour behind him-
Mama Nikos: (Ding!) Oh! Meat buns are done!
Jaune: Huh...
Pyrrha: Don't worry. I didn't get it the first time, either.
Fun Fact! Bengal tigers are smart. Cubs are raised by their mothers for two and a half to three years. There are also notes of tigers imitating deer and bear calls. They will chase larger prey into water, tear at buffalo legs to bring them to the ground, and will flip porcupines from to their backs to avoid spines. There are also records of tigers killing 15-foot crocodiles, 20-foot pythons, 300-pound seals, and a 20-year-old elephant.
---------------------------------------------------
Jaune: Hm? Hey, Pyrrha? Who's this standing with your mom?
Pyrrha: Hm? Oh... That's... That's my mother. She... She's not around anymore.
Jaune: Do... Do you want to talk about it?
Pyrrha: I... I don't know where to begin. She was my hero, but she did something really bad, and she died when I was really young. And I...
Jaune: Hey. You don't have to tell me if you don't want to.
Pyrrha: (Leans on Jaune) I was probably six years old when it happened. She and I were on our way to watch a tournament together, but then this guy came from out of nowhere. He shot at us and broke her jaw. She carried me back home, and then... She left that night. I didn't learn about what happened to her until just after getting accepted into Beacon. She... She went on a rampage and then... Then she...
Jaune: (Holds her) Hey, hey. It's okay, Pyrrha. I'm... I'm sorry to hear that. I'm... I'm sure she was a great mom.
Pyrrha: (Sniffles) She was the best. And, on the bright side, because of her, there's a new standard for huntsman and huntresses to follow. And she's part of the reason why I became a huntress. So I could make sure everyone follows the standard. Follows the example she set. (Smiles) I think she would have liked you.
Jaune: (Looks at family photo) I think I would have like her, too.
Fun Fact! In the first ten years of the 20th century, until her death in 1907, the Champawat Tiger, also known as "the man-eater" killed and ate 436 humans in western Nepal. She evaded capture and continued to kill until she was shot by British hunter Jim Corbett, who speculated the tigress lost her teeth years ago from a gunshot, forcing her to change her prey to much easier humans. He then went on to be an advocate for wild tigers and spent the latter years of his life devoted to their conservation, even having a conservation park in Nepal dedicated to him.
