FOTH Flamigo!
There's something so funny to me about Pokemon that are basically their real life animal counterpart. I feel like Flamigo goes a step further in that even its name is basically "flamingo" lmao
Anyway, this is an example of how I post when I make a new Pokemon. I'm still deciding if this is what I'll focus more on when I actually have time to crochet. You can vote in the poll here to help me decide :D

content creator year in review
I was tagged by the ever-delightful @j-pping to do this and I am so touched this is a lovely thing to do :c Thank you so much darling! <3 first creation and most recent creation of 2020: First creation was... according to my archives, I posted the second chapter of Allotrope on New Year’s Day. Most recent creation was...the Allotrope Christmas Special. one of your favorite creations from 2020: Oh! I really, really loved the Robinhood AU I wrote for @guardians-of-exo based on her moodboard way back some months ago! It has since been removed and launched me into wanting to write an interwoven AU based in Medieval era with her, so embarking on that adventure has been really fun and adventurous! a creation you’re really proud of: Hm, literally without turning this into a gush-fest about Allotrope, I’d say... the universe of our collab series, An Adventurer’s Guide to Romance. It might not seem like it but making nine timelines connect and overlap is hard. It only gets harder to entertain and write something new and fun without getting repetitive- especially when writing the same situation from another character’s perspective. I’m proud of how well it has gone so far and I can guarantee to you that’s why it takes so long to write each one after the next- I have to go back and reread and follow timelines and stuff to make sure I’m at the correct point in time of the story! a new style you tried this year and a gifset/fic that uses it: Uhh... I don’t have anything like that. I suppose you could say for style, that would be the series mentioned above that I collab on with @guardians-of-exo. I had read the entirety of Welcome to the Exodus Mall, an amazing and brilliantly colorful series by a writer I admire, @yehet-me-up. I was so blown away by the way she weaves everything together and felt inspired to write something in that fun kind of interwoven space because how freaking cool is a bunch of backstory and from characters you love when their arc is over??? a creation that took you forever: Ohoho, does it count if it is not over...? I have four creations that have been WIPs all year. One is Heat Seekers, a Chanyeol x f.reader set in a futuristic/dystopian AU, a really super personal piece for Yoongi called Desiderium, a fluffy and domestic Baekhyun piece that I can only write when I am in a very specific and soft mood, and lastly is my multi-chaptered Namjoon x f.reader Magic AU, Moonchild (which will probably get a rewrite). your creation that received the most notes this year: Without a doubt that would be Allotrope chapter 2, with 280 notes. Don’t get me wrong, I’m grateful for every single one, but I would probably be a lot more discouraged by the perpetual decrease in notes as the story progressed if I didn’t absolutely find this story loving and wonderful and if I were not at peace being proud how honored I am to have been able to write it for Junmyeon. a creation you think deserved more notes: This is a cringe-worthy question. But I suppose, if I could wish for it, it would have been that the Allotrope chapter 7 would have received a bit more notes. NOT for the fact that I feel like it wasn’t well-loved, but the anxiety in me wants to make sure it was seen by the people who care to have read it through and I feel like its current count isn’t accurate enough to reflect that wish. I want people to know how the couple ended the story. Really, I know the two biggest fans of it, @jenmyeons and @kyungseokie read it more than once (I love you both thank you so much always), and that they love it so much. I just want to be sure everyone who ever gave me support and liked this story has had a chance to read its ending. <3 a new fandom you joined and a creation you made for it: ASLKDHALSLKFG Stray Kids because Changbin and Chan choose violence daily, but I haven’t had a chance to write anything for it yet. Although, I’ve had plenty of time to read things for them and lemme just say, bless you Skz fanfic writers. MVPs, all of them. Perhaps one day when I can’t contain myself anymore I’ll write something, ha! a creation you made that breaks your heart: Without a doubt, Allotrope. Breaks it down into tiny pieces and builds it back together again over and over. Also more recent, the quick and dirty Estiferous, all because of its cause for inspiration that was the fake scandal that dragged Chanyeol through the mud. dearest @saebyeog-i and I were in a fucking FIT. It’s not the best thing I’ve ever written but it was still heartbreaking to thinking about it and then to write it. JUST LOVE HIM. a ‘simple’ creation that you really love: THIS IS EASY- Ameliorate! This sweet domestic fluff fic I wrote for @kyungseokie when she was not quite feeling so well and I had just finished writing Saccharine for AAGTR after watching 100 Days My Prince so I was hella in my Ksoo feels. a creation that was inspired by another one: This one isn’t writing lmao, it’s this portrait drawing I did of Chanyeol, which was inspired by his photos for 1 Billion Views, so technically inspired by another work, just, still not of the writing variety. a favorite creation made by someone else: Ooh for sure there are several, even if not written this year! Welcome to the Exodus Mall series by @yehet-me-up as mentioned above, Fortune Favors the Brave and Meminerunt Omnia Amantes by @j-pping,  The War by @guardians-of-exo. Bitter Brews by @saebyeog-i (I love you and like it’s your fault, even without this adorable story, that I have a big fat crush on Johnny). Transference by @dark-muse-iris that I scream about whenever I can, Void and other works (like Gwanghae Flow) by @btssavedmylifeblr, literally anything and everything (but especially Light Sakura) by @yeoldontknow, I’ll be Yours by @jiminbbyboy The Rich Man’s Crochet Club by @kpopfanfictrash along with every other work she’s written. Sweeter Than Sweet by @gimmesumsuga, Wanted (and Tentacledipity of the same AU) by @jincherie, and all things written by @jenmyeons (but extra love for Fine Dining Chanyeol and The Dating Problem Junmyeon, omg.) and @kyungseokie (especially Dichotomy and the following Car Je T’aime and Clair de Lune (I am a sucker for her Baekhyun okay T~T)). literally so many others, oof. some of your favorite content creators of the year: See above. uwu Enjoy the last few days of 2020 and ring in a safe, healthy and happy New Year for 2021, everyone. Love you! <3

25 Days of Adrien (+ 6 of Marinette)
A little Marichat moment.
Part of the MLHolidays2k19 Prompt.
Ao3
Chapter 6 – Scarves
Strips of fabric strewn across the room. A partially sewn dress was pinned against the mannequin. Sitting on the table was a half-finished sweater with knitting needles stabbed in the center of the ball of yarn.  Dozens of crumbled pieces of paper lay around her sketchbook, which was flipped open to a new crochet pattern that was currently in the works.
There she was sitting in her chaise, her hands meticulously crocheting the newest design. You could always tell when she was hyper focused; her tongue liked to poke out of the side of her mouth as she concentrated.
Oh man, how he loves it when she gets this way. She was busy working, one hand held the yarn while the other weaved the crochet hook fed with black yarn in and out of loops.
She was so focused that she didn’t notice a special little feline that was laying on her bed, hands propped up to hold his chin as he stared at her as she worked.
He loves watching her work. While it is always so nice to see his girlfriend as Adrien, he also loved transforming into Chat Noir just to continue the fun friendship they developed over the years. It was his little secret, and he enjoyed seeing this side of her that is specifically reserved for friendships.
He was so enamored in watching her, that he didn’t realize he let out a loving sigh. This promptly made Marinette stop her movement and subtly peep through her fringe only to see the silly cat laying on her bed.
Marinette went back to crocheting, smirking a bit before responding. “Look what the cat dragged in. I didn’t realize the mangy stray needed a warm home.”
Chat, realizing he had been caught, became wide-eyed. “Sorry to come in uninvited, princess, but this purrfectly well fed kitty just thought he would come by and see one of his favorite civilians.”
She stifled a laugh. “You know you are always welcomed here, kitty, but please knock next time. You wouldn’t want to see me in something less...” she looked up at him, “impractical.”
He quickly sat up and blushed at the thought. “Yeah. Sorry. Won’t do it again.” He lifts up two fingers and places it over his heart. “Cat’s honors.”
She giggles as she goes back to her design, finishing the last few lines of the black color before moving on to the red.
“What are you making, Marinette?”
“I am making a scarf for my best friend. She’s getting something Ladybug and Chat Noir inspired that I came up with earlier.”
He smiled. Her love of design always came across in her eyes; those beautiful, bluebell eyes that make it look like you’re swimming in the ocean when you look deeply into it.
“For Alya, right?” He asked like he was remembering as Chat.
“Yep.” Popping the “p” as she said it. “The girl that runs the Ladyblog and is proud over it. You know, she still ships both you and Ladybug together no matter how many times I tell her you guys are best friends. She also collects anything that represents them in any way. So I designed a black scarf with red polka dots and green paw prints all over it.”
“Can I see the design?”
“Sure.” She quickly glances the sketchbook from her seat to see if the design of the present she was making for him was on the page. When she concluded it was safe, she motioned for him to go over and see it.
“Woah, Marinette. This is so cool!” Chat beamed.
“Thanks. I came up with the design earlier while I was working on my dad’s present. I had to stop what I was doing to get started on the design.”
All too quickly, and in a joking manner, he gestures to all the unfinished projects. “I can see that starting and stalling is one of your favorite things to do.”
“Shush you, or you won’t get your present this year.”
Chat places his palm over his mouth, mock shocked over her empty threat. “Rude.”
“Says you.”
He crosses his arms and moves his nose to the air. She only snorts in response.
After seeing all the half-done projects and the fact that she barely stopped her crocheting to have an actual conversation, he thought it would be best to leave. He knew she was busy and didn’t want to interrupt her with their usual banter, snacks, and video game sessions when he was here, but he didn’t want to leave either. He just wishes he could flirt with her properly.
An idea crosses his mind. “Could you- could you show me how to make a scarf?”
Marinette stopped crocheting and slowly dropped the yarn and hook into her lap. She stares at him for a moment before smiling.
“I would love to make one for my girlfriend for Christmas.” He says slyly. Really, he would just keep it with him until the day he could finally tell Marinette he was Chat Noir.
She was excited to help him. It was so sweet of him to make something for his girlfriend. She’s been treating him so good lately that she deserved a handmade gift. And it would be something that he made? Swoon. She would love it. She would show him the easiest pattern, something that even a novice wouldn’t be able to mess up.
“What’s her favorite color?” she asks as she walks towards her closet for supplies.
“Pink. Kind of like the pink of your walls, actually.” He looks around the room.
Marinette sorts through her piles of yarn and pulls out three shades of pink. One of them has a tri-color affect to the yarn, giving more personality once the maker creates a few feet of length. The second is just a plain pastel pink. The third has a pink with a thin silver tinsel streak in it.  She shows Chat the three kinds for him to choose.
“Which one do you like the most?” Chat asked.
“I personally love this one.” She grabs the one with the silver tinsel.
“Then that’s the one I’ll choose.”
She places the unchosen yarn back in the closet and grabs a loom of black yarn for demonstration. She grabs two crochet hooks and hands one over to him. They sit on her chaise as she shows him how to work the yarn.
“So hold you yarn like this and create a loop.” She starts. “Then you want to grab some of the yarn by twisting the hook and bringing it through the loop you just made.”
Chat loops the yarn a bit and then watches her intently, copying her movements as she went along.
She weaves the first line, being careful to count how many squares she created.
“You always want to count to make sure you don’t mess up your lines.”
When Chat completed making the first row of boxes, he looked up to her to move on to the next step.
Marinette spent the next 20 minutes teaching him and watching him work the rows, helping remove any mishaps that he created.
She was very skillful at crocheting this simple pattern and before long, she finished the scarf while Chat had only completed a third of the scarf. She moved back over to Alya’s gift, working in the green yarn to create the paw prints.
Every so often, Marinette looked over to Chat to see how he was doing. A smile crept upon her lips in amusement when his concentration brought out his tongue. His brows furrowed when he realized an error and needed to go back a few boxes.
Soon enough, a smile beamed across Chat’s face when he picked up his completed scarf and showed Marinette.
“Chat, it looks great!” Marinette beamed along with him. “She’s going to love it.”
“Thanks Marinette. I know she will.” He looked over to look at the time. “I would love to stay and make another scarf, but alas, it is my time to leave. Thank you for the lesson.” He grabs the pink scarf and makes his way towards the skylight.
“Chat, wait.” Marinette called out as he walked up the ladder. “Here, I made the black scarf for you to match hers.”
He smiled. “You’re seriously the best, Marinette. Merry Christmas if I don’t see you before then.”
“Merry Christmas, kitty.”

Designer Spotlight - The Hook Nook
Calling all crocheters, Jessica Carey aka the Hook Nook designed a beautiful crocheted cardigan for our pattern book Vill called the Lahini Cardigan! Not only does she crochet beautiful projects in all weights spanning anywhere from fingerling to roving, creating beautiful cardigans, tops, hats and many other creations! Koigu paired with Jessica in the fall on her curated Maker Box.
I asked Jessica a few questions too get to know her and her maker process!
What are some facts about you? I am a wife to my tattoo artist husband and we have two amazing kiddos. We currently reside in Oregon, USA and I love it here! I am a self-proclaimed fiber enthusiast. I love discovering new yarns and fibers and exploring the possibilities that they can become. I am a coffee junkie who also enjoys some yummy red wine on occasion!
What started you to Knit or Crochet? When I became a mother, I wanted to learn how to crochet so I could make my daughter special gifts that she could keep as she grew older. I loved the idea of allowing her to have handmade items that could have more meaning to them. So, I taught myself to crochet from YouTube videos!
How many years have you been crafting? I've been crafting for as long as I can remember. I remember painting ceramic houses with my nana when I was just a child, but I only have been crocheting since late 2011. So happy I took the time to learn this craft, it's changed my life!
How has knitting or crocheting affected your life? It's done more than affect my life, it's truly changed it. Learning to crochet allowed me to realize that I am able to do anything I set my mind to. It's given me self-confidence and a sense of community by "meeting" THOUSANDS of others who love yarn just as much as I do. After a life of feeling like I never fit in, I finally found a space where I feel more like Jessica than I have ever felt before. These are my people.
Whats your favourite stitch? Oh goodness, I don't think I have a favorite stitch. More than a single choice, I mainly love combining different stitches in one project to allow for some true texture and originality. I love combing "basic" stitches with textured or raised stitches to create super fun designs.
Who is your designing idol? I don't think I have any specific designer who I look up to as an idol, but there are several who I am encouraged from. I love Jacqui Fink and her ability to turn knitting into larger than life pieces and she's been able to take her talents across the world and has designs featured in some of the most luxurious places. I also enjoy many custom bridal designers. I find so much inspiration in the intricate details of beadwork and lace. Though these types of details take an exceptional amount more of time to complete, it just allows for some truly breathtaking imagery.
Who do you make for most? Well, considering I primarily enjoy making garments for women, the bulk of my projects are mainly for me and that sounds incredibly selfish. Ha! I've made my children several things, but I truly love to make women's items.
Whats your ideal knitting or crocheting environment? This is a fun one! I am usually in my pajamas, with coffee or tea in hand and listening to my music on shuffle. I find some much solace in alone time and thrive in it. Add in some cozy socks, pretty sunshine coming in through the windows and maybe even a yummy pastry.. Alright, now I need to go get a scone..
What is your favourite project you have ever created? Oh goodness, I'm proud of many designs, but I think my current favorite is my Evangeline Cardigan! I had so much fun combining stitches, colors, textures, and materials to create this super cute and trendy cardigan.
Is there any form of crafting or making your interested in trying? There are SO many kinds of crafts I'd love to try! I am excited to try my hand at embroidery, weaving, punch needle, knitting, and so much more. I truly love fiber and all the kinds of crafts available that use it! I also am inspired by watercolor and can't wait to play around with that some more!
What are you making now? Right now I'm making too many things - ha! From a scarf to a cardigan, I've got a few designs in the works!!
Anything further you want to talk about…. I want to everyone to know how awesome they are. This fiber community is unlike any other I've been part of or witnessed. The amount of support and love everyone has for each other is so incredible and so inspiring. I'm so absolutely honored to be connected with such amazing people who light up my life. My Maker journey has been nothing short of incredible and has led to some amazing opportunities as well as self insights. I've discovered how worthy I am, how loved I am, and how much I want others to know these things. You are enough. You are worthy. You are beautiful. Never let anyone tell you differently. <3
Jessica is an aspiring woman, and Koigu can’t wait to see what she’ll create in 2018!
Vill is now available as an ebook from Webs, as well as Koigu Othello (Chunky weight). Koigu Chelsea will also soon be available from Webs also. Learn More about Koigu Chelsea and Othello.
