mmmm musical cultivator shen yuan again. Feng Xuanlu, the Wind Song. He has this well-loved wooden pipe he inherited from is adoptive father that he uses on occasion. When the traveling day gets slow and he doesn't feel like singing, when he's stressed, when night falls and he's sitting around a fire with his troupe and they've all had a little bit to drink.

His hair is long and black, always tied up into a ponytail or a braid of some sort. When he's in camp he loosens it up until its splayed messily over his shoulder. He has crows feet around his eyes that scrunch up when he smiles. His eyes are bamboo green and his hands are rough and callused from years of plucking strings and work. He has scars on his back that he won't explain the origins of.

His voice is low and warm like a fire, it gets raspy in the mornings or when he's been humming or singing for too long. He speaks like there's sunshine dripping off his tongue. He speaks soft, he speaks and his voice takes up the entire room. He's spent over a decade hearing his praises getting sung and he still gets shy over it sometimes.

Whenever he goes into town he has to have at least three other musicians with him at all times -- not his decision of course, but the unanimous choice of his companions. Shen Yuan gathers admirers everywhere he goes, and his companions have long since learned that their dear friend and leader is completely unaware of it. So they have to beat off these suitors with sticks.

'maybe i dont look like shen qingiqu! maybe its shen qingqiu that looks like ME!'#'laoshi you've said this before hahaha' 'AND I WILL SAY IT AGAIN' 'are you sure you dont wanna just take a blood test?' 'yes'#'how could we be related? it could just be a coincidence! the gods playing a joke.' he doesnt want to be related to the scum villain #that paints a target on his back! its read as SY being in denial bc he doesnt wanna think about how he could've abandoned or been abandoned #by family. they have no way of knowing if they're related and whose older.#lmao someone mistakes SQQ for the Feng Xuanlu once. he's NOT happy.

#me? gongaga more like MY gongaga. it's mine now. since squeenix can't be trusted.#god forbid they allow worldbuilding in this series #the rainy foggy atmosphere from the og is very important to me... i brought back the purple hue that stuck with me from my first playthrough #and i made the houses cramped and small like the og too #plus the architecture now takes the local climate more into consideration. downpour harsh winds hot and humid etc.#ideally they would be thatch houses but i wanted to keep the original brick because it's memorable #also i gave cissnei an outfit that doesn't make me want to bonk my eyeballs with a toy hammer #though i let her keep some of the Belts That Do Nothing #sotetsu's design is almost identical to canon. to drive home the point that cissnei did NOT have to look like that LMAO #so YEAH! deleting rebirth gongaga from my brain and replacing it with this version now. jsyk #ffvii #cissnei #sotetsu #my art <3

I challenged myself to draw the NEO TWEWY cast during the time of the original game starting with Nagi 💜

First and foremost I wanted a design that could stand alongside the OG cast and capture the fashion of the time period.#2. It took me a couple of iterations to really differentiate her silhouette from any of the Hachiko Gang.#3. I kept her mid-length sleeves from her canon outfit. The laces on her shoes are also a reference to her hair ribbons.#4. I love the cat beanie both because it’s very 2000s and it reflects the game’s cat motif.#That being said I am still refining this design. I want it to look a bit less sporty and more geeky to fit Nagi.#I’m also figuring out what to do with her hair cause it is a bit busy around her collar area.#But short hair makes her look too similar to RG Shiki so I’m still brainstorming. Feel free to leave suggestions if you have them!

Lemoncarbs redesigns I did for the funsies

I also redesigned them to fit my theory/headcanon that I have for them so just hear me out on this.

Okay so I've seen people talk about how the Lemoncarbs designs don't match up with the last time we've seen their AT counterparts to what I like to call The Lemongrab Dictator era. But Lemoncarb 2 hair is covering a side of her hair which is referencing this era so why don't act like and look like this era? Well you know how the the Fionna and Cake universe was basically like a fanfiction Prismo made that he stored in ice kings mind. And you know how while making fanfiction there's gonna be some strong storytelling elements and weak storytelling elements. I like to think that there's some characters that either don't have enough plot relevants or aren't like the main characters that are the main focus and appear for most of the episodes. So I like to think that since the lemongrab story wasn't like a big focal point ( like there's I think 9 Lemongrab episodes in AT) and with the Ice king turning back into Simon and Fionna world turning normal it fucked up some of the background and side-side characters timeline and thats why some characters are not genderbent. So the Lemoncarbs are in this weird in between space in their relationship where their in the middle of going to The Lemongrab Dictator era but still being in the era where the Lemongrabs were chillin.So that's why Lemoncarb 2 has the side of her hair covered and that's why I made Lemoncarb chunkier and taller so now both of them refrence The Lemongrab Dictator era. This is probably not true (and I probably didn't explain my theory /headcanon right)on why they look like that and the designers just made them like that just cause. This is just what I came with.
