Okey, but, I feel like og!Cale is the type of person that, if someone tried to make fun of him for a crush, he would be like "ah, yeah, that's true" and openly admit it.

So, og AlbeCale AU where whenever someone tries to mock Cale about liking Alberu or asks him about it, he downright says the truth. Regardless of who is hearing him.

As in, maybe once someone asks if Rok Soo and Cale are dating because they seem close (in part because they're kind of close, and in part because Cale keeps knowing what he is thinking, but they don't know that's just a Cale thing). And Rok Soo is like:

Rok Soo: Nah. This guy's type are baker princes.

Cale: You got it wrong. I don't like any princes who bake, I like Alberu only.

And Alberu, who was drinking tea on the background, suddenly chokes on his cup. Which they notice, of course.

"Oh. Hey, Al. Are you okay?"

—Totally unfazed for having Alberu heard the whole conversation.

He's so shameless about it and it's completely unintentional.

He has no idea of how people treat their crushes normally nor is interested on doing the same. He knows that some people tend to get shy, but a decade purposefully acting as trash killed most of his shame— Well, at least when it is about others' opinions of him—. If he wants to do something, being laughed at is not what's going to stop him.

And what he wants is to say how adorable he thinks Alberu is, so that's what he does.

Rejection? He isn't proposing anything. He doesn't plan on dating or wooing Alberu either. It's not that he wouldn't like it, it's just that it hasn't occurred to him that that's even an option. For him, who had spent years hearing everyone say the worst of him, the idea of someone wanting him by their side is so far away that it has yet to form.

So he keeps making casual comments about how cute Alberu is when he's confused, or "his hair looks so soft, I bet it feels that way too", or "he looks so handsome when he's tricking people. I like it more when he doesn't have to, tho", while everyone else feels embarrased for it. Except Rosalyn, she thinks it's hilarious.

Of course, he's pretty much respectful about it, never crossing the line to sexual harassment. And he would stop if Alberu told him too, but he doesn't. He kinda didn't realize that was an option at the beginning and, at this point, he got used and actually enjoys it a bit (a lot).

The turn tables when Alberu realizes that Cale doesn't have resistaince against genuine compliments. He never takes fake glibbery words seriously, but if someone says the slightliest good thing about him and they mean it, he'll become a mess. He just— doesn't know how to react when someone believes anything good about him.

So, Alberu starts complimenting him seriously— as reprisal, of course ("that's just flirting, nephew. You two are flirting, stop calling it vengeance"). Small but real things, details most people doesn't notice, deeper things that he deserves to hear (because, honestly, someone should tell him how sweet he is. How considerate he is. How much he should be appreciated because he's precious. And it seems Alberu is that someone). It works everytime.

Alberu calls his smile cute once and Cale stops talking. Face red and eyes avoiding everything, he can't pronounce a single word.

He calls him kind after Cale subtly helped a strange for no reason (he's obviously doing it in a way others wouldn't notice unless they knew what to look for. Alberu wonders if this is other "Cale thing"). Cale trips and almost gets discovered. When Alberu looks at his face, he's pouting.

Curiously, he doesn't have the same reaction when he gets called smart. He just smiles a bit and sometimes puffs his chest. Huh. Still adorable, tho.

This is not to bash on anyone or throw shade because frankly, that's stupid and I would be hypocritical because I have read those 'problematic' fics where they meet and fall for each other when Cale's under 18 and Alberu's a legal adult.

This but it's Og!AlbeCale.

Alberu is door hitter person. He actually had already seen Og!Cale many times around and knows about him from conversations and so. He has been secretly crushing on him (for reasons) for a while now but didn't plan on doing any thing about it. So, when he accidentally slammed a door on him, he panicked and said the first thing that came to his mind. Then retired from the situation as seemingly normal as possible.

Og!Cale is got-hitted-two-ways-in-one person. He was in a bad mood, just coming from existing in the same room than that creep Adin. He wasn't looking where he was heading to. Then someone ambushed him with a door and said that. It was so out of the pocket that he stood there, trying to make sense to what happened. Then it hit him, "it was a pun." The whole situation was so strange he let out a short laugh.

Rok Soo is the crab who witnessed this and decided to make it punnier.

This developes into a friendly pun war between Alberu "basically a charming prince" Crossman and Cale "Local Mystery Lout" Henituse. Everyone else is just waiting to see who wins and resisting the urge to yell at them to "kiss already, damn it!".

Bc I totally think timeliness can affect characterization so making a distinction can be important and "original" has been used interchangeably for both regression and transmigration but I also get why anon wants to separate those terms for lcf purposes bc within the lcf fandom there seems to be a weird amount of peeps who confuse og Cale with krs Cale and seem to think they're the same dude? Not everyone, obviously, but it's a common enough thing that I've seen it happen a few times. So being specific in the wording with og when referring to transmigration vs tboah when referring to timelines might help?

Anyways, AU where he has spirit familiars and one of them is a red panda who gave him the ability to shapeshift into a red panda himself.

He uses to play with his other spirits (mostly the animal based ones, but also the little faes, the elementals, and the one that looks like a kid), jump onto people who deserve it, honestly, and get info.

No one suspects from the cute animal.

Spirit familiars are literally what the name says. Spirits to whom someone bonds in a familial relationship. The way the bond it's formed varies from spirit to spirit.

The possible gained skills or traits are just an after effect of being adopted by a spirit. Someone who joins a spirit family can't be completely human any longer because they form partially part of the spiritual kingdom now. The other way around, spirits with a mortal family member have a firm anchor to the mortal world that others mostly do not. So they can travel between planes as they please.

So, yes, it's convenient for both parts, but it won't work unless there are genuine feelings and intentions involved.

Og!Cale just happens to come across spirits quite often. Somehow he ends up with a big adoptive spiritual family despite not being even orphan (though these two things have no relation at all. Spirits don't care if they family has more mortal family. Sharing is caring).

Alberu is deeply shocked when the little ball of furr he has been feeding lately opens its mouth and shoots fire to the queen's latest assassination attempt.

You know those "Og!Cale transmigrates into an Otome" fics?

Well, what about a fic where capture target Alberu goes to sleep one day and dreams with the plot of his life— that apparently is a game???— and finds out that:

First, the new student is going to start a war if she/he/they keep acting like they do.

Second, there's a high chance that Marquis Stan and his son, Venion, betray Roan.

And third— his fianceé, Cale Henituse, is actually really truly cute.

Now, how can he convince his fianceé that a position as the husband of the future ruler is a better way to avoid a succession battle than, you know, tarnishing his own reputation to ashes? He also has to woe him as he deserves. There's no way he's treating him the same as his alternate self did.

(Yes, alternate. Because now he has seen how adorable, intelligent and sweet he is, he can't possible be so indifferent towards him.

Alternate Alberu is the stupid Alberu and present-Alberu denies any relationship to him.

A scene idea for the Twin AU I was talking about earlier, here are some crumbs for all you little AlCale shippers.

Alberu went out to the garden during a banquet for some reason and some guys jumped out from the shadows and like fed him poison and chased after him.

Callie, who was also in the garden, gives chase once she sees this.

She managed to hit the guy carrying Alberu with a blow to the head (she threw a rock really hard) and used that momentary distraction to snatch the crown prince back and set him down a few steps away.

She then realizes that she is surrounded by like 20 armed kidnappers, she is wearing a beautiful elaborate deep mauve gown with heels, her hair is down and she has no weapon.

What she does have is her swordmaster aura, her fists and war-honed instincts.

So, she leans down and pinches Alberu’s cheek gently before whispering in his ear, “Don’t worry, your highness, I’ll save you.”

Callie proceeds to fight all 20 of them at once, burning skin and freezing organs and breaking bones before she steals one their swords and then cuts the heads off all of them in one round slice.

Alberu, who is sitting on the ground, hyperventilating from poison and panic is wide-eyed and in awe and kind of scared.

Callie approaches him, scrutinizing his state. She cleaned her hands from blood with her handkerchief and a nearby pond before sticking her fingers in Alberu’s mouth.

Alberu is, understandably, flustered. His cheeks flush red and his already uneven breathing gets worse. This is intensified when Callie puts her fingers in her own mouth to taste his saliva. She’s trying to figure out which poison it is since the symptoms are too common for her to figure out anything.

Ignoring the sputtering prince, she reached into her spatial pouch and procured a makeshift antidote before picking up Aberu and throwing him over her shoulder. She then begins rushing to the palace, keeping the stolen sword just in case they get attacked again.

So, Callie barges back into the banquet hall and it goes silent. She’s covered in blood, has a sword and some minor injuries and has the crown prince thrown over her shoulder.

Before anything is said or done, she takes him to the King and informs him of what happened, not caring about the eyes on her. Alberu is taken to the infirmary, Callie hands over the sword so it can be investigated and she gets a room to stay in at the palace.

And that’s about it. Also, just thought I’d mention it, I’ll probably post more ship posts about this AU because I really like romantic tension and sort of harems that edge the line of platonic and romantic.

Ability/habit:

_Cale can awake straight for one week or more when he wants and he can sleep anywhere anytime if he feels safe, especially when he is with Soo, Choi Han or Alberu. Yeah, that's his ability. That made his allies panic because he give no sighed of pass out then he just suddently lump over Rok Soo or Choi Han, who near him and sleep. Eventually, Rok Soo immune with it, following Choi Han. The three make sure to stay close with him so he can sleep anytime.

RokSoo Hernituse

Appearance: He has shoulder-length hair, long slashed like his brother. He is skinny even after all of the effort to fatten him up by his family.

Ability/habit:

_He can sleep two or three hours a day when he was busy thanks to Vitality of the Heart but he prefers sleeping more than it when he is free which sometimes leads to his brother panicking at first. And then his friend. Eventually, His brother used to it and sometimes let him borrow his laps. He and Cale were regular in Crown Prince and Choi Han's bedroom because It had warm heat. They only used their bed if they had each other.

No, it's not just you. I had the same vibes from them.
