It's been a lot lately, and some people might try to shame you for being happy about something while there's so much not so happy going on in the world, but please oh please remember, that you deserve to have happiness too.

Georgia talking about staged again and now their…… flirting? Is that what you would call putting a heart on Anna and her calling Georgia a flirt?? Radio silence from the both of them and now randomly there’s this.

Hi there! Well, I'm not sure it's really random. But let's get the visual up here first, for those who haven't seen Georgia/AL's Insta stories today:

So this seemed to start with Georgia posting the story about Staged playing on BBC iPlayer after she finished watching OFMD. The second story is the one with Georgia drawing the heart around AL, followed by the story with her drawing a heart around the glass of wine Michael is holding, and then Anna shared Georgia's story and called her a flirt.

The reason I don't believe this is random is because for the last several days, all everyone has been talking about online is Ineffable Con and Rob/Gavin's comments about the kiss between Michael/Aziraphale and David/Crowley. And as we've seen before, just when the conversation gets too focused on Michael and David, Georgia and AL post a story or photo to bring the attention back to them. It's actually fairly predictable at this point, since it's happened multiple times previously (though I would say this seems a bit more blatant than other instances, given that there isn't any reason for either of them to promote Staged right now).

My thought in regard to the "flirt" comment is that I agree with you in not understanding exactly how that reads as flirting (as it didn't come across that way to me). I do wonder if this is another attempt at Georgia and AL trying to be the female analogues to David and Michael (which we've also seen before), but it again doesn't work because they don't have that same chemistry or flirty dynamic that Michael and David have. Also, if this actually was "flirting," what was the purpose in GT circling the glass of wine? Is she flirting with the wine as much as AL? Once you look past the straightforward promotional aspect of these stories, it just seems very weird.

Weirdness is apparently the theme for the day, however, as there was also this reply from AL on Twitter earlier:

If you look at the timestamps, AL replied to this tweet/Michael's tweet exactly one minute after Michael replied. Going back to the idea of predictability, there's been nonstop discussion for the past several days about Michael and David kissing, and my first thought was that she seemed to just be looking for a reply that she could jump on and insert herself, to where I would not be surprised if she has notifications set up for his tweets for just such an occasion.

Upon further consideration, I did get the feeling that her "Where can I get one?" was not at all sincere in the way that Michael's was. It came across to me as a passive-aggressive way of reasserting her position (i.e., "I'm the only one who actually gets to love Michael Sheen"). It also makes it seem like she is fighting with the fans for Michael's attention, on top of already competing with David (although let's be honest, there is no competition there). More than that, however, I also got the feeling that AL copying his comment was her way of mocking him for wanting the t-shirt at all (i.e., "Look how stupid he is for wanting this stupid shirt"). Which of course is not something she would actually say, but the copied text along with the reply coming only one minute later makes it seem a bit circumspect. And it makes me feel sad for the fan who made the original post who may not realize what is really going on.

In any case, those are my thoughts on GT and AL's social media posts today. As I've always said before, I know I could be completely wrong in my interpretations, but the timing is just too strange for me to believe it's a coincidence. I'm happy to hear others' thoughts, though...

Rhys Darby is so funny because I'll watch OFMD and other shit and be like, "I can see him being at least a little fruity" but then I'll look at his Instagram stories and see Heterosexual Dad™️ posts only broken up with a few thirst traps (by which I mean photos of him where you can see his arm(s), or maybe leg(s), and sometimes not even that) and the occasional promotional thing he was clearly told to post by his agent.

And then I'll watch The Curse of the Seafaring Life and gaslight myself all over again.

New OFMD promotional photos and theories!

we can confirm the Ed finding Stedes letter theory! It looks like at this point he has already fished out his leathers, and could be on his way to find Stede by the time he finds this letter. He could find the bottle whilst fishing or when he dives for his leathers. I wouldn't be surprised if buttons the seagull plays a hand in helping Ed find his leathers, the letter, or Stede himself!

The candlestick and brick work make me think this is in Spanish Jackie's, but the chair looks rather ornate. Will do some sleuthing to try and pinpoint where this could be!

Since we're so close to season 2 and we're getting so much promotional material now that the strike is over, here's my tagging system for those who want to avoid spoilers.

All trailer/interview/promotional content will be labeled #ofmd s2 or #ofmd 2

I will try my best to tag actual episode content as #ofmd s2 spoilers. Especially if it's related to an important plot point.

I'll do this until a week after the final episode airs. However, your best bet to avoid spoilers from me is to block #ofmd s2 and #ofmd 2

i am so sad s2 is over. and i honestly feel underwhelmed about the season as a whole. i don't want to! i think david jenkins did everything he possibly could with the run time he was given, and the resources he was allotted. i might be looking at it with rose tinted glasses but i really think that this is not the fault of the showrunners, but the fault of the streaming service the show is on. even though this show is driving in so much traffic, and it has been since s1 aired, they were given a shorter season with less resources this time around. and i think the showrunners did an AMAZING job of squeezing everything they could into 8 30 min episodes! im genuinely impressed by what they did with it! but it makes me feel rotten - even thinking back to the renewal hell this show went through, max couldn't even be fucked to make a big deal out of renewing it during pride month, but still made us wait until then to find out if we'd get more. you could feel djenks anxiety about renewal in interviews and tweets he made until it actually got renewed - they were not giving it to him easy.

recently jenkins retweeted a photo of an article that said ofmd was pulling better interest/engagement numbers than fucking succession! (it was unsourced, just to say that, but i would not be surprised if that was genuine fact). that is fucking insane for a queer show with a cult following. it is so imperative that we shove it down max's throats that we want renewal, and that we love this show. i am never the type to engage with promotional corporate social media, but genuinely i feel like this fanbase needs to tweet and email and fucking facebook message max to show that interest in this show is exponential. because s1 had ridiculous support and it got us s2, but did not give season 2 the love and resources it deserved.

This is really interesting to me because the Times Square billboard also wasn't in the most heavily trafficked part of NYC TS by a long shot? It also wasn't a huge wrap around billboard. It was fairly small, comparable I think to what the plans are for the London Billboard.

I mean this is David's own selfie with it. A lot of the people seen in the background are there because there was an OFMD meet up happening at the time.

Most people walking in Times Square are either taking a tourist photo or otherwise looking at their phones because they have better things to do than look at the ads. I literally walked around Times Square when I went to NYCC in October and I can tell you the only ad I looked at and remember was the OFMD ad that we went to see specifically.

"Vue is where you go to pay £5 to see a movie" so it's a bad area because....it's lower class? Because....it doesn't draw the tourists the same as the Big Ben? Okay, but it wasn't really prime tourist season for the NYC billboard either. I've also been to Times Square on July 4th and that was a very different experience to going in October lol. It's not always jam packed with people.

Either way, there are plenty of people in London who are interested in making the trip out for a meet up, and we saw with the first billboard that there was press interest. I think it is a pretty good indicator that it will be the same and that no matter what fans are going to go out there and take pictures and promote it, even without David Jenkins being able to do a surprise visit to it.
