New Year’s resolution book tag
Following @caffeinated-bibliophile‘s example, I consider myself tagged for the New Year’s resolution book tag. I love doing tags (even though it sometimes takes me a little time) and this one is new.
An author you’d like to read (that you’ve never read before)
This would be Victoria Schwab. I know a lot of people like her writing and I got “This savage song” last year. Perfect combination.
A book you’d like to read
Astrid Lindgren’s diaries 1939-45.
A book you’d like to re-read
I haven’t re-read a book in nearly a year and I hate it. Of course I want to read my “classics” but there are also a few newer books I want to re-read (to see if I still like them), such as “The rest of us just live here” by Patrick Ness.
A book you’ve had for ages and want to read
Oh god, that list is sooooo long. But, to make it something I can actually achieve I’d say “Mastiff” by Tamora Pierce. I finally started on the Beka Cooper series last autumn and, of course, I loved it (it is Tamora Pierce after all).
A big book you’d like to read
The sleepwalkers by Christopher Clark. I heard so much good about it and it was really popular in book stores a while back. But I have yet to read it. It is so intimidating, not only long but also history. Maybe this year.
An author you’ve previously read and want to read more of
Maggie Stiefvater.
A book you got for Christmas and would like to read
I already read all my Christmas books I got 2016 and I cannot remember - oh wait, I got Astrid Lindgren’s diary for Christmas so two birds (questions) one stone (book).
A series you want to read (start and finish)
I don’t think there is one. I have a few not yet finished series and I am not looking for a new commitment.
A series you want to finish (that you’ve already started)
See, this is the question for me. Firstly, Colin Cotterill’s Dr. Siri books - they are amazing. And I’d like to finish Charlaine Harris’ Southern vampire mysteries (although I already know the ending and I don’t really like it). One of my resolutions for this year is to finish as many series as possible.
Do you set reading goals? If so, how many books do you want to read in 2017?
I only started on goodreads last autumn and before that, I never set a reading goal (number of books). Last year and for this year, my goodread challenge is 52 books (one for each week of the year) which is doable but still challenging for me. The more important challenge is, however, that I want to seriously reduce my tbr. I started with it last summer and have made good progress so I want to continue. I want my tbr to be less than 10% of all the books I own, i.e. I need to get from 78 to 63 - as soon as possible (to start re-reading again).
I tag @flamingmirror @indigoblueskye @clockwork118 @alwaysbringabookwithyou (no pressure)

he couldn’t REMEMBER. it was like a small part of his memory had been wiped, no matter how HARD he tried to think -     he couldn’t r e m e m b e r. his last memory had been of negan’s sick game, but mere moments before he said “you are it!” everything had gone dark. but the runner didn’t recall any pain. he didn’t.. die, did he? no, no. that’s impossible! but who did? who was the unfortunate soul who had to succumb to that sicko’s spiked bat?      abe? michonne? maggie?! maggie -    where was she? she couldn’t have -    she didn’t. she didn’t. no, not her. glenn’s breathing became uneven and messy at the thought, an anxiety attack on the brim of exploding. he ran a shaky hand through his unkempt hair, wanting so badly to be able to stop time and just -     just think. he had to get some sliver of peace, of order     so he walked. only stopping when he spotted a quiet, virtually stowed-away area. he stood against it, back to the rough wall, arms tightly crossed, and hopelessness spread across his face.
