[Corrected list]
The G1 men who are women in at least one other continuity;
Override (Cybertron, Bayverse, Aligned, Animated maybe — there are two Overrides, one male and one female)
Joyride (Cybertron)
Tread( )bolt (Energon)
Cliffjumper (Armada)
Ironhide (Armada)
G2 Windrazor (Ask Vector Prime, Legends, 2007 toy)
Red Alert (Universe toy in Japan, Animated)
Bombshell (Cybertron)
Nightbeat (Animated)
Sunstreaker (Animated)
Wingthing (Animated)
Drag Strip (Animated)
Thunderclap (Aligned)
Whirl (Aligned, sort of — there's the male empurata Whirl in the Wreckers but also a female Whirl in Rescue Bots, the man barely exists in the continuity)
G2 Skyjack / Skyfall (Aligned)
Skimmer (Kreo)
Swoop (Cyberverse)
Nova Storm (Cyberverse, Earthspark)
Skywarp (Cyberverse, Earthspark)
Cosmos (Cyberverse)
Frenzy (Earthspark)
Devastator (Timelines)
Optimus Prime (Universe, an alternate of RID2001 Optimus who's male)
Scourge (Universe, alternate of RID2001 Scourge who's male)
Cindersaur (according to the tfwiki list some version of G1 Cindersaur, but the character page says nothing)
Mindgame (Beast Wars: Uprising)
Strafe (IDW1)
Lug (IDW1, IDW2 — there had been a male G1 Lug before her)
(X-)Throttle (tfwiki's list says so, no indication of gender on the page, not categorised as female)
Roulette (Universe)
Skyburst (IDW1)
Slide (IDW2)
Pyro (TransTech)
Circuit (Beast Wars: Uprising)
Sky High (Beast Wars: Uprising)
Broadside? (Beast Wars: Uprising)
Oiler (Beast Wars: Uprising)
Crush Bull (Beast Wars: Uprising)
Dub gender changes;
G1 Starscream (The Movie's french and turkish dubs)
G1 Shrapnel (The Movie's french and russian dubs)
Cyberverse Thrust (japanese dub — renamed Red Wing)
Miscallenous;
G1 Ratchet was originally imagined as female by Bob Budiansky until Hasbro banned him from putting women in their boy show
Cyberverse Jazz would apparently have been a woman if she'd appeared, despite the toy referring to her as male
I could still be missing some dub stuff. Also note that tfwiki considering characters "G1" means Generation One continuity family", and doesn't necessarily mean they were in the Sunbow cartoon or the Marvel comic or in the japanese sequel to the Sunbow cartoon. They could've debuted in IDW1 or even IDW2, or some random tie-in crap to something.
Also, the G1 bots who aren't male OR female in at least one continuity;
Acid Storm (Cyberverse —genderfluid propably, tfwiki uses they/them)
Overlord (Super God Masterforce — Literally half man and half woman, not sure what that means for Overlord's gender)
I've seen people interpret Overlord's gender as genderfluid!
Iicr, yeah Cyberverse Acidstorm is officially genderfluid! I remember there being a whole lil excited thing about that when Cyberverse came out, Jesus fuck another sign I was trans damn I was so excited when I puzzled out that AcidStorm was (accidentally) not binary. From my memory, AcidStorm ended up having two different character models because some miscommunication on the animation team, in certain scenes seeming to "switch" gender between shots. sure in hindsight it seems a bit silly to take it so seriously, but at the time I went *nuts* (positive)
#maccadam#transformers#yeahhh i went into a whole lil thing about acidstorm#there was a time period where they were my favorite character just for that#G1 men who are women in other continuities

genshin verse for orlain: after the war comes a storm tied with @stellafortunae's andrii & @constellaeinfinitum's laurain
vision: pyro (love) nation native: natlan current residency: liyue
species: valuka shana (tighnarian) rarity: 4* best team synergy: canon ─ electro traveler, kokomi, ayato, orlain non-canon ─ cryo jacqueline, dendro noctis, geo morik matching weapon: kiss of death - 4* sword
Sword Stats ─ S1 lv.1 to lv.90 Base ATK: 20 ─ 342 2nd Type Stat: Crit Rate Crit Rate: 15% ─ 32%
Storyteller's Lament: Kiss of Death Skill
After casting an Elemental Skill, gain 1 charge of Lament. This effect can be triggered once every 6 sec. The charges of Lament last up to 30 sec or until it reaches maximum charges. The maximum charges of Lament is 6 charges. On using an Elemental Burst, all Laments charge raise Orlain's critical rate by 2%, up to a maximum of 12%, and critical damage by 4%, up to a maximum of 18% for half the duration of the Burst.
Relic Focus:
Vermillion Hereafter (2) ─ ATK Hourglass & HP Flower Crimson Witch of Flames (2) ─ HP Plume & ATK Goblet Prayers for Wisdom (1) ─ Crit Rate Circlet
Elemental Skill: Ashes to Ashes
Using the Elemental Skill "Ashes to Ashes" takes a randomized amount of HP within a certain range (4-12%) of the current Health Points (not Maximum) and turns it into an amount of Crit Rate that equals half of the percentage taken. This increase in Crit Rate cannot exceed 20% and resets upon using the Burst.
Elemental Burst: Dust to Dust
Using the Elemental Burst "Dust to Dust" uses the amount of HP taken from using the Elemental Skill, divided by 4, and adds it to Crit Damage %, up to a maximum of 20% (80% of HP). Healing and sacrificing more HP does not force the Burst to exceed 20% CD%.
Daily Side Quest, liyue only: Weight in Gold
An almost endlessly repeating side quest that deals in a couple retrieving either items for their young adopted daughter or retrieving the lost girl herself. This quest starts with retrieving and leading the dragon-kin girl herself home from one of the mid-distant waypoints (near a patch of flowers) to her fathers, who are waiting for the Traveler to return with her (one of them fussing while the other is calm and collected about it; this changes per side quest obtained). Over time, the family will start to open up, and talk more about themselves. The last ten quests will reveal a lot about their dynamic as a family, and how they feel about the Traveler (mostly positive, some of it curious and concerned about him/her). The second to last & dead last quest will talk about the fathers asking if the Traveler knows anyone who would officiate a marriage between the two of them, but only after you speak to the daughter first and select the option "Are you sure they aren't already married?" and earning a gigglefit and a shake of the head. in the last two side quests, this time titled "The Truth about Love I/II", regardless of if the Traveler admits to knowing a priestess (Yae Miko) or two (Kokomi) who would happily wed them, they seek out the people themselves.

Hi!
This is a RP blog for my X-Men/Marvel OC Lina. I do not own the X-Men or the Avengers - this whole blog is just for fun! Both the OC Lina and the mod are over 21
Lina is a combination of Lorna Dane and Nina from Apocalypse.
She’s the daughter of Erik/Magneto - her power is Magnetokinesis like her father. She’s as powerful as Erik.
Instead of dying in the woods with her mother, Lina survived and was found by soldiers who gave her to Thaddeus Ross who had a telepath wipe her memories and put her on ice. The plan was to make Lina into a weapon to control Magneto.
Erik and Charles discovered this and rescued Lina, restoring her memories and raising her at the school.
Lina officially joined the X-Men once she finished school - taking the mutant name Magfire.
On a mission, Lina crossed paths with the Avengers and became friends/allies.
Personality: Lina is sassy and sarcastic, loyal to the people she loves, she’s fiercely protective of any children - mutant or human, she has a clear moral code, having come so close to death she loves life, plays bass and paints.
Appearance: Lina has dark eyes and dark hair. Lina has a grungy style, wears dark colours, has a tongue piercing and likes experimenting with hair dye.
Relationships:
X-Men
Erik/Magneto: really close to her Papa, Erik can be extremely protective at times, but he’s also immensely proud of Lina, of her power and her strength.
Charles/Professor X: Charles adores her. Lina got her strong moral compass from Charles and views him as a second father. One pout and “Uncle Charlie” is done for.
Peter Maximoff: Peter was so excited to have a little sister! Sometimes he gets a little insecure about how close Erik and Lina are but is quickly reassured by Lina. They play video games and have movie nights together - kinda annoy the shit out of everyone else.
Mystique, Jean, Scott and Storm: all like older siblings. Lina knows when she needs help they’ve got her back.
Bobby, Rouge, Gambit, and Pyro: chaotic best friends. Dubbed “Mystery Inc.” by Scott. Ride or die, fight together - no mourners, no funerals.
Avengers:
Gets along well with everyone, becomes a link between the two teams.
Good friends with Yelena, Wanda and Nat.
It took a while for Tony and Bruce to trust Lina and welcome her in, but her ability to help mend equipment in the field won them over.
Lina and Bucky had a slow burn romance. Mainly due to Bucky’s fears about being romantically involved with someone after all he’s been through. When Lina gets too boisterous and rowdy Bucky will grumble about being an old man, until Lina makes him crack a smile. (My Bucky rp is @justawhitewolf)
Steve likes Lina, he’s happy his best friend has found someone. Especially someone who helps Bucky see the lighter side of life again. Sam and Lina get on like a house on fire, both enjoy teasing the “grandpas” about modern pop culture.
Unfortunately Sam has walked in on some awkward situations…..

What was it like for young Maddox to meet the other mercs? Was Dell officially his dad at that time? Which merc did Maddox like/hate the most?
Have a great day!
I love you dearly.
Imma add a cutoff so it doesn’t clog up the dash!
They all met him after Dell did.
Admin: Admin was intruiged and didn’t meet him until he was 7 or so. When she did meet him she loved to talk shit about his dad to him. It led to some beef between Dell and her but she lived for Maddox’s reaction. She was a huge beneficiary to Maddox’s acting career and had been to each of his shows, always cheering the loudest. It was fun seeing her out of her comfort zone but she spoiled this kid whenever Dell told her not to.
Ooh she was so sassy with the way she spoiled him to. When he came out she forced him to cut his hair into a dapper ass style before he went off to college. (She also got him addicted to coffee.) makes fun of him for not being good with women.
Demo: Maddox met Demo when he was around 8 years old at a play. Demo was invited because he’d come back to America to visit, Demo was so shocked at how mature Maddox was for his age. He and Maddox had such a silly relationship. They would play hide and seek with firecrackers were they both had to seek around to find one another and then they saw the other sneak up and pop them. Then run away and hide. Maddox is wonderful at this and it trained him for stealth missions later on.
Maddox and Tavish still have an amazing relationship and they write to each other frequently.
Heavy: Heavy met Maddox almost straight away. When he heard that Engie had a kid he demanded to meet him. He called him котик, because of his feisty attitude. He and heavy have always adored one another and throughout his life Maddox has made it his goal to look like Heavy. (He’s 5’2). Heavy loved this kid and when Maddox came out he took him camping close to the Urals.
Him and Heavy are super tight and still go camping today. (Heavy’s ma loves him and Zhana would fight for him.)
Medic: Ooh. Medic is a mixed bag. Medic was the first one besides Dell to meet Maddox and at first they were chill with one another. Medic was very excited to meet little Maddox and teach him what he knew but Maddox didn’t appreciate the enthusiasm. Here medic lives with Dell and his wife so when Maddox came into the picture Medic was always there. He (Maddox) was never really all that fond of Medic and felt that he was always too sassy with him.
So when his dad called for him to have his augmentations and medic helped his trust was completely broke. Maddox grew physically afraid of Medic, to the point where if they were in the same room he’d cower behind someone else.
Eventually Dells family traveled to Europe to meet some friends in Switzerland and Medic to Germany in the countryside. Dell and his wife had to hop on a plane back to the US because of a blizzard in the area. But no seats on the plane were free and it was unlikely anyone would give up their seats. Do Dell called for medic to come and pick Maddox up while he was sleeping.
So there, in yards of white power in the middle of nowhere Maddox was in a house with the guy he was terrified of. It took around a week for them to make any progress, and another for the storm to calm down.
Now Maddox is weary of Medic but he doesn’t fully distrust him. (Fun fact: Maddox learnt German in that two week period)
Pauling: Pauling didn’t actually want to meet him but met him on accident when he was in high school. He applied to an internship postion where she worked and when he introduced himself she was shocked at his age first and his maturity second. She loves pulling him to run errands with her and is constantly taking time off to pull him to a concert or cool event. She considers him her best friend and Maddox is kinda worried shed slip off the deep end if she over works herself anymore so he’s always obligated to go.
Pyro: Oh this was a fun meeting. Pyro Met Maddox when he was around 5 years old. And he immediately fell in love, he gave Maddox stickers, and dresses, and plush toys. Everything girly or childish. You name it. Maddox just thought that it was SO COOL to have someone who was perpetually in a mask as a friend. And it excellerated whenever they were tasked to start a bonfire. With the flames Maddox realized he LOVED fire. Which is why he forced his dad to let Pyro teach him how to control it.
When he got his arms augmented he thought he’d never be able to work with fire again. But thankfully when he got older his dad was able to install some flame resistant metal, and some mini colanders that allowed him to start fire in the blink of an eye.
(Favourite merc)
Scout: Scout was pumped to meet this sassy asshole. And when they did meet this man was BANANAS. He kept throwing Maddox face first into the pool, flipping the little shit. It wasn’t until they were both about to crash out on the couch that this guy introduced himself. And he became the marvelous uncle J after that. Maddox had to be this mans brain because he didn’t have one around this kid. He got so pumped when he saw him that Jeremy forgot to act like an adult.
Whenever Maddox was going through a rough patch he teleported himself to Jeremy’s house in Brooklyn and slept over there. Jeremy took this as an opportunity to actually teach him about life. And at ten Maddox had one of his first big life conversations on the roof of a wet Brooklyn home.
He and Scout still hang out all the time and Maddox couldn’t be happier to be around him.
Soldier: Soldier and Zhanna met him before Heavy did and they went ballistic.
“Annie is a wonderful name for a boy!” Soldier never realized Maddox was a girl at some point and kinda… stole him. From Dell. And when I say stole I mean they strapped him in a car seat and drove him across the state before Dell caught up with them and took him back. Maddox loves the two of them and he dated their son back in highschool. Part of this was because he never really considered them “aunt and uncle” but rather his friends. Soldier was the first one to take him hunting and it was also the LAST time he took him hunting. Zhanna insists on teaching him to wrestle and Maddox was NOT about to risk his life. (He did it though but told her to ease up)
Sniper: He and Sniper have the closest bond. Sniper was more like an older brother than an uncle but Maddox still calls him uncle mick. Sniper taught him all about the natural world and he did it visually, so Maddox could learn. Maddox loves him lots because Mick was one of the first people to show him how to do things that no other person knew. Madds grew up listening to Snipers advice and thus grew up with a complex understanding of the world around him.
During the rough patch with Dell he kinda went around and spent a LOT of time out with Sniper. They rarely spoke out in the bush but Sniper taught him some very precious things. They shared some fears, and Sniper was the first one to know about Maddox wanting to transition. Maddox layed his heart out to the man and sniper listened so they’re still really close.
Spy: Spy didn’t meet the man until his sophomore year of highschool where Maddox refused to wear a dress to homecoming. Maddox had heard of the elusive spy before but it wasn’t until the Greyed man pulled up to Maddoxes house that he’d met him. Spy tailored 10 suits for Maddox each for special occasions. Dinner, Quince, Acceptance speech, Wedding, Homecoming, Prom- you NAME it. Spy knew the NIGHT he met Maddox that he was trans and confronted him about it later on that same night. While Maddox refused Spy kept pushing until he sat him down and spoke with him about it.
Spy was very much the sassy wine aunt that Maddox needed to gossip to and Maddox nearly drove the phone bill through the roof speaking to the man. It came to a point that Dell had to install teleporters in his and spy’s home so they could cut costs.
When Maddox went to Oxford he’d take his breaks in France where Spy would teach him how to properly speak to people and be “elegant” in Europe. This led to Maddox being awkward when he got back to America because he was reserved and seemed very stuck up. (Also was halfway between a French and English accent so-)

needs to be reviewed
Because i havent officially named or properly mapped out a lot of the globe and towns, im going to refer to locations based on the characters there and the locations i plan to make characters in.
izaiahs's store/home is in a coastal business district, Similar to portland maine (bc it's a stone throw from where i live), although he is much closer to the equator in southern europe. his family home was in a forested mountain base. the hutchinsons are on the east coast of the americas, therefore theyre in a much more mountainous area and gets more humidity from tropical storms. the seigaihas and company live in a heavily forested section of mountain in japan, therefore theyre in the most humid location. Specific ocs like ren live in very arid mountain ranges. nerris lives in a lagoon. I plan to make an oc or ocs inhabit a more deserted area.
to be honest, geography matters considerably less in gaia than on earth. With harpies able to traverse over mountains and large areas, mer able to swim across oceans, and mages/diavolo being able to easily manipulate metals and other resources to create roads and trains.
pyroforeis live in the equator. pagoforeis along the poles and high altitudes. elves live in forested areas. mer along the water (obv) and harpies along mountain ranges. mages and diavolo kinda just go whereever. not gonna go into adaptations bc ive already discussed this at least a hundred times
see 3
There are separate nations, but *significantly less* than in the real world. there are barely 60 countries in gaia. instead of being split into impossibly small nations that are smaller than the u.s's states the countries are larger with provinces and local governments. there are nations defined by the species that makes up their population. for example, greece is defined by their high concentration of diavolo and mages. Sweden is defined by their high concentration of elves. romania-> mages. etc etc. there are also countries made of the two main magic types, pyro and pago. countries like russia are made of mostly pago and countries like egypt are mostly pyro.
the largest cities are in greece, india, china, japan, egypt, the east and west coast of north america, and brazil. unlike on earth where there are lots of suburbs that take up a lot of space and kill the ecosystems, there are only large cities or small rural towns. there are no suburbs, especially not cookie cutter. The closest thing to suburbs are small business districts that have absolutely no residential buildings. this means there is still a significant portion of the globe covered in untouched or unaltered ecosystem
It was first mapped by the very first eudaimonia who crash landed on gaia, however, it wasnt mapped to completion. this would be done by their children, the first diavolo. Because of how eudaimonia lifespans work (so drawn out) there is very little that is not known, and even less that is assigned to something like myths. they have legends "this area is where eudaimonia landed" and "this is where our species evolved" but not myths.
eudaimonia descendants have been on earth for over a million years, they were the ones who influenced hominids to evolve into homo sapiens and homo daimonia. they have seen more change than i can describe. there are ecosystems dying out and changing year to year in real life, gaia is no different. Lots of mountainous areas have been smoothed down over time, though.
It really isnt honestly. it's the same as earth but with a few key differences.
at least one hominid species is able to survive in any place on earth. yhe only place they would not survive would be at the core of the earth, simply due to the pressure.
Fantasy Worldbuilding Questions (Geography)
Geographical Worldbuilding Questions:
What is the terrain like for key setting regions – which regions are coastal, mountainous, arid, or have dense vegetation?
What effect does geography have on other aspects of world, such as transportation, trade and industry, environmental challenges, clothing, food and drink?
Who lives in each geographical region and how have they adapted to it?
Who prefers which regions or biomes, and why?
Where are the world's borders and boundaries? Are there separate nations or kingdoms? What distinguishes the geography of each?
Where are the largest metropolises or wilds? Or is everything undeveloped (e.g., if your story features extra-terrestrial exploration)?
When was this world first mapped? Are there regions people know little about or tell legends about ('There be dragons')?
When has landscape changed, due to natural causes or development? What effects did this change have?
Why is this world's geography interesting or unusual?
Why is any region in this world habitable or uninhabitable? What are its dangers, threats, or quirks?

With the hope that they do reruns of the 7-star Tera Raid Events (don't worry, there hasn't been official confirmation I'm just being hopeful that they do reruns) I want to say which of my aces are the most viable for each of them
I'm gonna start by listing my aces just for reference (please don't laugh at the overspecialisation in Spriggie and Char's movesets):
Spriggie the Meowscarada (male), Grass Tera Type, Ability: Overgrow - knows Tera Blast, Flower Trick, Leaf Storm and Grassy Terrain
Char the Ceruledge (female), Fire Tera Type, Ability: Flash Fire - knows Tera Blast, Bitter Blade, Overheat and Sunny Day
Knight the Iron Valiant, Fighting Tera Type, Ability: Quark Drive (holding Booster Energy) - knows Psycho Cut, two powerful (120 damage) Fighting-type moves (but not Brick Break) and Sleep Talk
Cherry the Iron Leaves, Psychic Tera Type, Ability: Quark Drive (holding Booster Energy) - knows the same moves it knew when caught and I have no intention to change that
And now here's every 7-star Unrivaled Pokémon so far and which of my aces would be the most viable
Dragon Tera Type Charizard the Unrivaled - Knight is the one that comes to mind here as the others are weak against the Dragon type and, with the exception of Char, the Fire and Flying types. It also resists the Fighting type
Fighting Tera Type Cinderace the Unrivaled - Char, easily. She's immune to High Jump Kick until she Terastalises and she's also immune to Pyro Ball until abilities are negated, plus she resists Iron Head. She still takes regular damage to Acrobatics but two all three of the alternatives are taking double (technically the base power is already doubled because Cinderace doesn't have a held item)
Poison Tera Type Greninja the Unrivaled - Char is the only one without a weakness to Gunk Shot (trust me, I double-checked, defensively the Psychic type doesn't balance out Cherry's weakness to Poison) just fact-checked, Char also has a weakness to Poison. When it comes to the poison weakness, Spriggie is the only one that doesn't have it removed when Terastalised, though, so there's that. Out of everyone else, (you'll notice it's basically the same thought process that went into Inteleon because the other moves are of the same types) Char resists Ice Beam but is weak to Hydro Pump while Cherry resists Hydro Pump but is weak to Ice Beam and Knight takes regular damage from both as well as having a double resistance to Night Slash, which Char and Cherry are both weak to
Water Tera Type Pikachu the Unrivaled - Cherry. Both Spriggie and Cherry resist Thunder and Surf, as well as dealing double damage with their Grass types, and take regular damage from Iron Tail but Spriggie is weak to Play Rough, which I know from experience does a lot of damage. It's like the Brick Break (a move I had a lot of trouble with in Let's Go! Eevee) of Pokémon Violet (admittedly it's because of my starter in both cases)
Flying Tera Type Decidueye the Unrivaled - All four have at least one weakness here (Spriggie and Knight are weak to Brave Bird and Air Cutter, Char is weak to Spirit Shackle and Cherry is weak to both). On the plus side, all but Knight resist Leaf Blade while Spriggie and Cherry resist Low Kick while Char is immune to it until Terastalised, so either Char or Cherry (who still resists Low Kick even after Terastalising, plus losing the weakness to Brave Bird and Air Cutter) would be the best choice, but in Cherry's case I'd have to spam Psyblade
Bug Tera Type Samurott the Unrivaled - both Char and Knight have a double resistance to Megahorn but Char is weak to all Samurott's other moves while Knight has a double resistance to Night Slash and takes regular damage from its other moves. Offensively, all of Knight's moves are resisted (because apparently the Bug and Fighting types resist each other. I don't get it either)
Ghost Tera Type Typhlosion the Unrivaled - here we run into a problem, partly caused by Typhlosion and Char both having Flash Fire as an ability and also partly caused by Char not knowing any Ghost-type moves, both of which make Char unviable. Spriggie and Cherry are also both unviable due to their Fire weaknesses and Cherry's Ghost weakness. This leaves me with Knight, who is weak to Play Rough. I would like to say that Cherry is the best choice because at least it removes its Fire weakness when Terastalising, but it's still susceptible to Shadow Ball. Looking at the moves, I think Knight's weakness to Play Rough is probably more survivable than Spriggie's weakness to Eruption
Ice Tera Type Inteleon the Unrivaled - Spriggie and Cherry resist Snipe Shot but are weak to Blizzard while Char resists Blizzard but is weak to Snipe Shot and Knight takes regular damage from both. Char and Cherry are also weak to Dark Pulse while Spriggie resists it and Knight has a double resistance. Long story short, I realised like an hour after I decided to call it a day on Sunday that I should've been using Knight this entire time
Basically it's mostly Knight and somehow never Spriggie

Hey hey!! I've been following you for a while now and I love your work sm aaa
Saw the event, I love soulmate au's 😩‼ as a gemini, may I request a gemini prompt + kaeya? Up to you who the enemy is, I trust you ^ ^
-🦚 @pavo-ocell-me
someday, one day (hc scenario)
penpal: omg hi !! im glad u love my work, i hope this is to ur liking 🙌
prompt: gemini the twins, enemy-lover soulmate au
pairing/s: kaeya x gn!reader
sypnosis: when you thought he was your enemy but is actually your lover.
includes: spoilers on diluc and kaeya's backstory, spoilers on genshin's official webtoon, violence, physical pain, burns, arguing, enthusiastic!diluc (pls take note that its canon that he USED to be like all the other pyro characters b4 his father's death.),
when you first met diluc, it felt like he was your knight in shining armor.
the first time you two met was when you accidentally fell down from your balcony after leaning too much on the railing and diluc managed to catch you bridal-style whilst he was on patrol around the city as a knight.
it truly was romantic– and a near-death experience for you.
so when you found out that his name is imprinted on your wrist, you felt ecstatic, and so did he.
since then, you two were known as the youngest soulmates who had found each other in mondstadt, people admiring your relationship with envy and happiness.
of course, you and diluc were a happy couple. although you would be lying if you said diluc is overall your type, you managed to find yourself falling in love with the man.
when crepus, diluc's father, found out about diluc's once-in-a-lifetime moment, he simply laughs and pats you and his son by your backs with a proud smile.
"by the time my son turns 18, we better make arrangements of your wedding! it's a ragnvindr tradition, after all." he comments eagerly. you honestly weren't sure if the man was joking or not.
it didn't take long before you meet his dear brother, kaeya.
when you find out his brother's name is the same as the one that's imprinted on your other wrist, being surprised is far from your reaction.
"don't worry about it, y/n." diluc reassures you one night as the two of you stroll around the city together. "i'll make sure nothing will go wrong between you and my brother. besides, you always have me, right?"
if diluc hadn't tried what he said, perhaps things would've gone differently than now.
in fear of being enemies with your future brother-in-law, you decided to avoid kaeya like a plague, giving the young man apologetic looks whenever you walk away from his presence.
as much as you're avoiding the man, you couldn't imagine hating on kaeya. every night, you always think of what can make kaeya your enemy. what is there to hate him? he's funny, chivalrous, everything that screams your type of men.
wait.. type?
your heart drops from the moment you started thinking romantic things about diluc's brother, looking behind you to see your soulmate sleeping soundly with a frown plastered on your face.
is diluc really your lover?
doubts started to cross your mind. what if diluc isn't your soulmate? what is there to prove that kaeya is your enemy? are you just overthinking things?
"i can't think about this." you murmured to yourself, pulling up your comforter before laying back down on your bed and try to fall asleep.
"i have a wedding to worry about next year."
just as you said, you did try not to think about the possibilities you have with the two brothers, distracting yourself with tasks and dates with your lover, who's quite oblivious to your problems going on inside your head.
unnoticed by you, you weren't the only one who has been burdened with your thoughts.
by the time diluc's birthday has arrived, the two of you started to get excited from your future wedding, excited to finally marry each other after years of spending your adolescence together.
you didn't expect an inconvenience during diluc and crepus's trip.
you didn't expect crepus trying to save diluc from a monster using something that no one but snezhnaya has ever heard of.
you didn't expect crepus asking diluc to put him out of his misery.
you didn't expect diluc to come strolling back to your shared home with blood stained in his clothing at a late hour.
you never, ever, expected your lover to fight his own brother when he took a visit.
and you did not expect your lover to plan on leaving you and everyone.
"what do you mean you're... you're leaving?" you ask in disbelief, staring at diluc as though he has two heads. "can't i go with you–?"
"no, this journey will be too dangerous for you–"
"this applies to you as well! you're not an immortal or some god–"
"i can do this on my own, y/n." he says with his eyes narrowed. you couldn't help but scoff in disbelief. this isn't the diluc you know and loved.
"but diluc.. isn't this too much? your father... i know crepus's death is too much but, why can't you stay?" you whispered, cupping his cheeks. "what about our wedding? the life you and i planned after your bi–"
"my father died and you're seriously thinking about our wedding?!" diluc forces your hands away from his face, glaring at you. "why can't you understand that i'm trying to find out the truth on this delusion–"
"i do understand!" you yelled out. "i do understand that you want to do this for him but what about monstadt? the knights? what about your brother–"
"HE'S NOT MY BROTHER!" he yelled, lashing out at you as you screamed in surprise when you saw fire in front of you, immediately covering your face with your arms out of reflex.
you didn't notice how your lover's eyes widens on what he did,
you couldn't notice him, not when you're too focused on the huge burns on your arms.
"oh my god..." diluc murmurs, slowly taking a few steps back as he takes a look of what he did, ignoring the sudden presence of adelaide and elzer, who both gasped from the scene.
your eyes starts to water from the intense pain, trying not to cry out and scream your heart out in fear of making your lover feel regret. you could honestly care less on what diluc is doing, all you could think about was the intense burns from your arms.
suddenly, the door was slammed open by kaeya– who was wet from the rain outside.
"what the hell did you do to them?!" kaeya exclaims, running towards you with a shocked look on his face. "i'll take you to the cathedral alright? the sisters will heal you." he whispers, wiping off the tears from your face as he wraps his arm around your shoulder and takes you towards the doors.
before diluc could let out a word from his mouth, kaeya gives him a glare.
"you may hate me for what happened," kaeya says.
"but for celestia's sake, don't ever come to them or call them your lover ever again."
that was the last time you saw diluc.
you eventually find out from the chattering nuns that the man had already left monstadt with no news of when he'll return, causing everyone to pity you and for diluc about what happened.
you were thankful that no one except the nuns found out about the incident of your arms.
throughout your stay in the cathedral, you usually find kaeya beside you, keeping an eye on you with a concerned look on his face. you honestly couldn't imagine what would've happened if the man didn't storm inside dawn winery. would diluc actually try to help you later on and leave? would you have suffered more with your injuries as he stands by watching you in disbelief?
whatever outcome you could think of, your heart ached from them all.
would diluc stayed had he been the one who tries to take care of your injuries?
either way, you knew the man is no longer the one you fell in love with from those years ago.
as years grew by, so did your friendship with kaeya.
although it was awkward from the start, you eventually warmed up to the man who you thought is your enemy, feeling more comfortable with him than before.
the two of you started having careers by then, with you having a successful career whilst kaeya becomes the calvary captain of the knights of favonius.
although the two of you are busy, you agreed to always meet each other at night in angel's share, where you drink the night away and talk about anything that comes out of your minds.
there wasn't a day when you thought about diluc.
thankfully, your burns weren't too severe and is slowly fading away throughout the years. but that doesn't mean the memories you had from it disappeared as well.
ever since that dreadful night, you started having nightmares about the incident, always finding yourself sitting up from your bed with a scared look on your face.
you wished you didn't want to see diluc this way, but you honestly couldn't bare to face him if he ever comes back to the city.
you don't see him as a lover or a friend. all he is to you at this very moment is your nightmare.
your nightmares simply washes away when kaeya comes up in your mind.
whenever you think about your so-called destined enemy, you felt comforted and safe. it was understandable really! you were touched by how he took care of you regardless of you being his "enemy".
however... now that you could think about it, the calvary captain has a lot more common with you than diluc himself. the fact that his brother made you laugh a lot and supported you in many ways made you started thinking that maybe diluc really isn't your destined lover.
your heart skips a beat from the thought of kaeya being your true lover, the smile you wore never fading away.
perhaps when you're finally starting to move on from the relationship you had with diluc, maybe... just maybe, kaeya could be the one you've been hoping for.
you started to sleep more peacefully, excited for the future that awaits.
somewhere in the calvary captain's home, the man is dreaming and hoping of you too.

Unresolved feelings (ending 1)
Part 2 is here, and the alternate ending will come out soon! A bit of nsfw below the cut, minors skip this one!
“Well, I have been meaning to get someone to accompany me on my commissions.” Kaeya hums in thought. “With some training, I am certain you could hold your ground.” he smiles, chin resting on his palm as he awaits your reply.
---
You nod, deciding to take him up on this offer. You weren’t exactly a fighter, but you were known to be good with maneuvering around awkward spots - more so than usual. Even though you wanted to keep working with Timaeus and Sucrose, two of your friends, Albedo was just going to make you jump through hoops. You didn't know if Albedo was being dishonest about there being an imposter, or if there was an imposter, and he didn't seem to want to be around you for too long.
After ironing out the paperwork to make it official, Kaeya smiles before getting you to prepare for your first mission. Kaeya takes the papers ,heading to Jean to inform her of your decision. You asked him if he wanted you to deliver these, but Kaeya weaved the claim that you'd likely have second thoughts with Jean asking you questions.
-
Timaeus is the one who finds out through Jean that you'll be joining Kaeya on his missions, leaving your post as an alchemist. Understandably, he's pissed off. Sucrose overhears Timaeus asking Jean what happened, and figures out pretty quickly that Albedo probably scared you off somehow based on the past few days. Shaking her head, she runs to Dragonspine to tell Albedo about this.
Getting there in record time, she hears some concerning sounds in the lab. Keeping herself quiet, she hides behind a rock before peering over her shoulder to figure out what's happening. Albedo is hunched over, lightly grasping and holding something in his hand. Initially, Sucrose thought he was struggling with opening a jar, but after she emerges, she heard Albedo utter under his breath your name, clearly imagining you being there. Albedo hears Sucrose before she can hide again, and he turns his head, eyes slightly wider than usual. He puts his "experiment" back into his pants before clearing his throat, apologising to Sucrose and asking her what was urgent enough to solicit her coming up dragonspine instead of yourself or Timaeus.
"W-Well, Master, Albedo..." She starts, looking anywhere that wasn't in his direction. "I'm not sure you heard, b-but..."
Albedo is now walking closer to hear the next words that Sucrose comes out with, expecting to hear something terrible. What he doesn't expect, however, is what Sucrose yells out.
"_ is no longer working with us!"
Albedo stills, waiting for the joke or the prank to be over with, and for you to jump out with some sort of 'gotcha' moment.
But nope.
"Acting Grandmaster Jean informed Timaeus. I can imagine he wouldn't be as collected when-"
As if on cue, Timaeus is storming up towards the lab, a piece of paper threatening to be torn in his hand from how tightly it's being clutched. He bites his lip to stop any unsavoury words from coming out, handing the wrinkled paper to Albedo. Albedo looks down, only to feel his chest tighten at the message.
"...I should have received some form of notification in advance." Albedo states blankly, checking and confirming the seal was accurate. By the time he looks up again, both Sucrose and Timaeus have headed off, no doubt to work.
--
Your first commission with Kaeya went well until Reckless Pallad landed up stumbling in, five abyss mages somehow been lured by the man towards yourself and Kaeya. You had no vision, so you were pretty useless in this situation. It was unfortunate that these mages were all Pyro or Cryo, but Kaeya jumped into action, hitting their shields with all his might. You find yourself also doing so, unsure of what damage if any you could do to this. Unfortunately for you, you land up getting knocked back by a cryo attack from a mage, stumbling backwards into a puddle. Freezing up, you see Kaeya furrow his brows before running towards the main section of Mondstadt. You get thawed out of your state by a pyro attack, and you tell in pain before the mages all surrounded you. Any attempt to run is useless, the cryo mages making good use of your wet status and the pyro mages enjoying the pain in your eyes. You heard a gasp, but you were far too drowsy to stay awake.
--
Waking up in dragonspine was not the most reassuring thing to see. Did Albedo have a cruel experiment in mind after seeing you somehow not die from the wounds that happened with that abyss mage attack? Which albedo did save you if there was two?
More importantly, was Mondstadts city gates safe?
To your surprise, you see Sucrose in the corner of your eye, clearly shaken up while muttering a series of unintelligible words to Timaeus and Albedo. Groaning when you sit up, all three of them dart their heads over, Albedo being the first to grab some supplies to test your physical state.
You hear about what happened. After Sucrose and Timaeus left Albedo with the letter that confirmed your change in career, the two of them headed towards the alchemists base in Mondstadt. They hear Reckless Pallad yelling for help and think nothing much of it. Surely some hilichurls, right?
Wrong. Pallad ran off, leaving Kaeya and yourself with 5 abyss mages. Kaeya shared a look with Sucrose, somehow getting her to understand what he wanted her to do before sprinting to get Jean. Sucrose gets Timaeus to take you away from the area, taking it upon herself to pull her catalyst out and quickly swirl the enemies together, relieved to see the puddle had enough water to dampen the pyro mages shields. You got a general check up with Barbara once the mages were dealt with, but unfortunately there were several other concerning cases where people got ambushed by abyss mages. Albedo was the one who suggested Dragonspine, stating he works best there and you'd have a quiet place to recover.
Albedo makes eye contact with you after Timaeus finished talking, Sucrose is still holding onto him lightly as shes hoping that you didn't get hurt by her swirling.
"...Why did you want to work with Kaeya?" Albedo asked, concern lacing his words.
You look to Sucrose and Timaeus, a soft smile to tell them without words that it would be better for you to discuss this with Albedo by your lonesome. They nod, leaving the cave until Albedo would call them back.
"I needed a change. I can feel my work not being up to my usual standard, and I fear it's because of our... relationship." You begin. "I...I don't know how you feel about me, and yesterday honestly left me confused. One minute you're cooking a meal for me and then telling me that you're incapable of these feelings I have for you, then the next you're talking like you only just arrived. I can't tell if this is just some sort of joke, but I don't have the mental energy to-" you begin to talk rapidly, your thoughts spilling out before you could stop them. Albedo grasps your hands, looking you in the eye.
"I know the story about the imposter seemed... unrealistic, however I can assure you I didn't cook for you. Nor did I inform you incorrectly of my feelings for you." Albedo clears up. "I was initially sad that you left us to work for Kaeya, but hearing about what occurred on your first day with him scared me."
You tear up, unsure what to say.
"I would like to arrange for you to work as part of the team once you recover." Albedo caresses your cheek, softly smiling.
"In the meantime, however, I want to truly show you how I feel. I won't leave your side, I promise."

Genshin x MHA Crossover Ideas (w/ reader insert)
(These could be fulfilled with using official characters or OCs but I don’t have one (yet) so reader it is)
· Quirkless! Izuku receives a vision from oc/reader/archon.
o Reader could be a god/adeptus (not archon) that helps the archons with their duties and occasionally suggests potential vision bearers to the archons.
o Is transported to the MHA world but is still able to communicate with the other archons while they try to bring her back.
o Is incredibly overwhelmed by Izuku’s passion and ambition and insists on giving him a pyro vision.
o This occurs slightly after Izuku’s horrible doctor’s appointment but before he has to tell his classmates that he is quirkless.
o Reader becomes his trainer and supportive family figure and is close to the Midoriya family.
o Idk what his weapon would be, but he is more of a melee fighter so bow and catalyst are out. With OfA he tends to deal slower but more powerful blasts so I feel like claymore would be best, but he’d have to prepare his body to wield it like OfA.
o elemental skill is a blast of flames that pushes enemies back and he can hold the skill for a bit to control direction.
o His elemental burst summons a flaming storm that causes AoE damage and heals allies that are within a certain proximity.
o His passive talent is called “Never Gives Up” and decreases stamina consumption for all activities (sprinting, gliding, swimming, and climbing) when his HP is over 65%
o His special dish is obviously katsudon.
o While he can manipulate pyro outside of his burst and skill, they aren’t as powerful.
o He was taught to make the elemental potions by oc/reader/archon which allows him to create quick elemental reactions, though he usually works best with anemo’s swirl to amplify the power of his flames.
· Tevyat! Reader gets stuck in MHA! Japan.
o Cyro or anemo vision
§ A healer for one of their moves
o Most likely goes to UA or gains influence through social media.
§ Doesn’t have to be in the hero course.
§ Support if interested in alchemy.
o YOUTUBE AU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
o Obviously, glider use during the Sports festival.
§ Attracts Hawk’s attention which means yes.
§ Support gear
o Friend collector like Lumine in “The Outlander’s Treasure”
Sorry about not posting more. My phone is old and doesn’t hold a charge anymore and I usually use it as a wifi hotspot since I don’t have wifi at my house. Hopefully I’ll get a new phone soon. Also I haven’t set up a request/ask box yet but y’all are free to comment anything you want me to write about!

"You are officially in charge! Seeya!"
“Wait just a damn minute!” Pyro snapped as Shinobi bolted for the door. Between the toddler climbing up his back and methodically mashing peanut butter into his hair, and the five-year old wrapped around his calf, Pyro could not stand up to give chase. But with a quick flick of his wrist, a barrier of fire rolled down across the doorway.
“You can’t play with fire in here! Think of the children!” Shinobi exclaimed.
“Try me,” Pyro grinned. He would drop the barrier if any of the herd of mutant children that filled the rec room got too close. He’d probably be fast enough. “No way in hell are you ducking out and leaving me alone with this!”
“There’s no need for us both to suffer! I obviously wouldn’t know the first thing about caring for children, so I’ll just – wait, why am I even arguing with you? Shinobi suddenly dropped, intangible, through the floor.
“I’ll tell Storm!” Pyro yelled after him, extinguishing the fire wall. They had both been assigned to mutant child baby-sitting duty while the rest of the crew battled their way to another stranded group. Why they – or rather, he - had been deemed inessential personnel for a combat mission, when Pyro’s abilities were all about mayhem and destruction, was a mystery. He suspected that he was being punished for suggesting that Emma just psychically put the little brats to sleep.
Shinobi’s head popped back up through the floor, glaring up at Pyro.
“Don’t be a snitch!”
“Don’t expect me to cover your back if you fuck me over!” Pyro snapped back. “We both got sat at the kiddy table today, we’re both doing it!”
“Fuck me over,” repeated the toddler, giggling, and continuing to massage a handful of peanut butter against Pyro’s scalp. God damn, and he’d put so much work into gelling the curl out of his hair, too.
“Are you a ghost?” The five-year old, a green-colored little girl with odd suction cups at the tips of her fingers, was staring wide-eyed at Shinobi. She uncurled herself from Pyro’s leg and stood up.
“Yes,” Shinobi said, rising up out of the floor. “I’m the the ghost who eats little children that don’t behave.” The little girl’s lip trembled ominously.
“Nah, he’s a funny ghost!” Pyro broke in. “Like Casper! Or that slime thing from Ghostbusters.” Would the children even know those references? This latest batch of mutants was from Thailand. “Look, you can chuck things right through him!”
Pyro tossed a crayon through the still-intangible Shinobi.
This was the pebble that started the avalanche, because soon every child in the room was happily throwing things through Shinobi, who stood scowling with his arms crossed.
“What? You’re not even getting your suit wrinkled, which is more than I can say for myself.” Pyro was running to take a shower the very instant the rest of the Marauders brought their smug asses back to the ship.
“Ugh. Now I understand Father’s stance on children. Which is basically don’t. I need a cocktail,” Shinobi grimaced, making his way over to the counter.
“What’s a cocktail? I wanna cocktail!” A small boy, around primary school age, piped up. He had a pair of tiny wings on his back that fluttered excitedly under his shirt.
“Ha! Maybe you should give him one, Shinobi. It would probably quiet the little blighters down.” A little fruit-flavored “night-night” juice would make their job so much easier.
“Tempting, but I think Storm would kill us both.” Shinobi was pouring various colored liquids into a mixture. The winged boy and the sucker-hand girl had followed him in, watching intently.
“Can we make one? Pleeeeeeaaaase?” The girl’s eyes, already dark and watery, seemed to grow even larger as her faced scrunched up.
“It’s for grown-ups, love,” Pyro called over to her.
“I suppose I could make a child-friendly version,” Shinobi mused. “Harry used to do that for me when I was at the Hellfire club and Father was busy. I usually went right to sleep after. Come to think of it, I’m not entirely sure he gave me child-friendly drinks.” Shinobi paused, looking at the two children.
“Alright, if I show you how to make a Shirley Temple, will you promise to be quiet and behave for the rest of the afternoon?”
“Yeeeees!” The children chorused, despite probably having no idea what (or who ) a Shirley Temple was.
Meanwhile, things were getting chaotic over by Pyro’s spot on the couch. Two of the older children were now beating each other with pillows, which was safe, but were also knocking things off tables, which was not so safe. There was a game of Tag going on that would probably soon end in tears. Another toddler was smearing melted chocolate across the wall – at least Pyro hoped it was chocolate – while the one on his back had given up his hairstylist aspirations and was now kicking at Pyro’s side and making growling noises.
“Okay, that’s enough of that!” Pyro swept the kid off, and planted him on the floor.
“Imma tiger!” The boy declared.
“Live the dream, kid.” Pyro stood up to gesture at the children. “Okay, knock all that shit off! It’s story-time!” He put a certain amount of authoritative menace into his voice, pretending he was on a Brotherhood bank job. Putting on a movie would have been much easier, but the only TV in the room had already fallen victim to a particularly rowdy fight over Encanto vs. Sonic the Hedgehog.
“I don’t want a story!” One of the pillow-fighting children protested.
“Tough shit, story-time is mandatory!” Pyro punctuated this with a blossom of flame that he shaped into a skull, and damn if that didn’t get the kids’ attention. Running, fidgeting, and vandalism paused while the children gaped at him.
“Now then.” Pyro sat down primly, pulling out a battered paperback, and began to read:
“The unicorn lived in a lilac wood, and she lived all alone. She was very old, though she did not know it, and she was no longer the careless color of sea foam, but rather the color of snow falling on a moonlit night. But her eyes were still clear and unwearied, and she still moved like a shadow on the sea.”
As he read aloud, he wove a fire tapestry in the air, with the delicate unicorn prancing among the trees. It was heavily ripped-off inspired from the animated movie, but none of the children seemed to mind. They were probably too young to have seen it, anyway. They just stared up in awe as Pyro let a butterfly sculpted out of flame flutter over their heads.
In the kitchen, Pyro could hear quiet giggling and liquid splashing, while Shinobi explained to the children the golden ratio for cocktails.
And for about ten minutes, all was well.
Then a girl with wolf-like features leaned over and bit the arm of the boy sitting next to her, and all hell broke loose again.
(OOC: Once again, I have Pyro as a fan of The Last Unicorn, because I personally love it. But what the hell, he'd probably love the tragic romance aspect of it, even while he tells everyone that he's just into that Red Bull made of fire.)

Whumptober Day 4
No. 4 - TRUST FALL
“Do you trust me?” | taken hostage | pushed
+++
Genshin Impact | Diluc, Kaeya, and Mondstadt’s resident dragon friend
(crossposted to AO3)
+++
“Well, what a surprise this is, you asking me for help? You must be really desperate, then.”
“Don’t get any ideas. I’m not asking for your help tonight; I’m only asking for this one favor.”
“So, you play hero and I watch from the sidelines? Hmph, you wound me, Diluc.”
Diluc leveled his eyes at Kaeya with complete lack of amusement. He really didn’t have time for this. He pulled his sort-of brother into the stock room at Angel’s Share this morning with the intention of getting him alone with as little fanfare as possible (he wouldn’t be going to the knights for this, that’s for certain) and in as little time as possible. “I’m serious,” he insisted. “I’m only asking you to do this because you’re the only one who can. I need you to convince Vind to leave her post, just for one night. There’s going to be danger, and I need to ensure her safety. Obviously, I can’t do it myself, as this could reveal me as…well, the rumored vigilante.”
“The Darknight Hero, you mean?” Kaeya supplied with a smirk.
“Don’t call me that.”
“Fine, fine.” Kaeya shrugged. “I understand; you wish to keep your secret identity a secret. No worries; I have no intention of letting Vind be prey to some Abyss mages tonight. I’ll make an excuse to get her out.”
“Right…wait!” Diluc’s eyes widened at the realization. “I didn’t tell you—!"
“That the Abyss Order was the ‘danger’ described?” Kaeya appeared far too satisfied with himself. “Don’t be so surprised. I have my sources just like you have yours. It is the reason why Sucrose is on her way right now to tell Vind about those strange weather anomalies in Dragonspine that need her attention right now, as they could be the sign of a great storm that the expertise passed down to her through generations might be useful for. Plus, she has the official knightly request signed by yours truly.”
Diluc sighed. “You…already had a plan.” Of course, he did. A very official-sounding one, actually. “Wait, is there actually…?” If this was a lie, there was no way that Sucrose would go with it.
“No, probably not, it’s just a little stretching of the truth. I asked Albedo to hype up the facts for this purpose. But don’t worry, he doesn’t know any details.”
And…he got Albedo in on his scheme as well. “You would think of everything.” He exhaled while rubbing the bridge of his nose. “Well, fine then, you do that; I’ll handle the rest.”
It really wasn’t that much of a surprise to him that Kaeya would show up anyways. And, if he was being honest, it wasn’t unwelcome. Especially considering his timing.
Diluc struggled to regain his footing quickly, use the flat side of his claymore as a shield when another barrage of cryo icicles came his way. The cryo still caused a melt reaction on the flaming bush in front of him that made the fire burst in his face and deal yet another painful shot of damage. He inhaled a sharp breath and responded with launching himself at the cryo abyss mage with a flaming sword. He then unleashed his flaming phoenix on the hoard—half of Stormbreaker Point was already on fire, so it really wouldn’t matter if he added more flames to the mix.
A wound on Diluc’s arm was bleeding heavily, and he reached up to touch his face to confirm that there was blood there, too. Before him, a large group of abyss mages and Hilichurls made a blockade stretching across the clifftop and around the watchtower, and behind them, four Ruin Guards stood as support. The grass and trees around them had caught on fire, making a beacon in the pitch-black night sky. Behind Diluc, there was the edge of Stormbreaker Point and the long drop to the ocean. And beside him, there was Kaeya.
Diluc did not expect the fight to be as intense as it was. He knew that the Order was planning some raid because they got it in their heads that the tower at Stormbreaker Point must have something vitally important in it, and that Vind was some kind of powerful, mystical protector of it. Hilichurls hung around the tower a lot, so maybe they…communicated, somehow? Either way, Diluc planned to put a stop to it. However, he wasn’t planning on this much resistance…maybe they learned of his involvement?
Or maybe, that one Abyss mage in the middle, the cackling pyro one, was just a cut smarter than the rest. It made a point to sneer at the “Darknight Hero” upon Diluc’s arrival, and when Kaeya came in from nowhere to bowl through the line and take his place by Diluc’s side, it sneered at him, too.
“Well, if it isn’t the great cavalry captain of the Knights of Favonius? Such a…wonderfully unique star in your eye, isn’t it?”
Diluc felt Kaeya tense by his side.
“Hehehe, what’s the matter? Worried about your precious Darknight Hero? Or your precious secrets?”
Kaeya didn’t respond to the taunt. He kept his stance steady, his sword angled towards the hoard. His one visible eye didn’t lose sight of the sword’s target. “They’re coming,” Kaeya spoke in a whisper that only Diluc could hear. “Our reinforcements.”
So Kaeya knew, coming here, that the battle was bad enough that they would need help.
“What’s that, oh great knightly captain?”
Most of the mages didn’t talk that much. Diluc wasn’t sure they even knew much, or if they remembered things. They ran on their one-track goal against humanity, and they plotted and schemed to meet that goal. It was enough of a reason to destroy every one of their ilk Diluc saw.
(He tried not to think much about what Kaeya told him that day, about the truth. He didn’t know what to do with that truth. He couldn’t protect Mondstadt if he doubted what he should do about it, so he didn’t. Whatever those mages used to be, they were only monsters now.)
Kaeya unleashed a blast of cryo in front of him, and Diluc followed by running into the fray of fighting renewed, taking out every creature he saw. In his distraction, he almost missed that he had been targeted by a Ruin Guard’s missile, and he stumbled to the ground in a desperate last-minute attempt to dodge. A Mitachurl tried to capitalize on that moment of weakness and bring down its giant flaming axe on him, but Kaeya in that moment dove in and struck the monster deep in the side. He then grabbed Diluc and they dodged backwards.
They were going back too far. Little by little, they were losing ground, to the point that their feet neared the edge of the precipice. Still, they fought. It hadn’t been so long for them that Diluc’s fighting by Kaeya’s side felt unnatural…although it was odd. Because, they were older now. Kaeya had a Cryo vision now. Everything was…different, but every now and again, they’d still end up doing something together anyways.
Diluc breathed heavily, his hands around his claymore sweating underneath the gloves. He pushed whatever pain he felt from his injuries somewhere deep, deep in the back of his mind. He needed—they needed to push through the line. He wasn’t confident in the state of his glider after getting himself roughed up and singed so much or in their ability to avoid further attacks during their descent.
“Kaeya, we need to—”
“Diluc, do you trust me?”
Diluc’s eyes darted over to him, taken aback by the gravity in Kaeya’s softly-spoken question. “What kind of question is that?”
“Well, do you?”
As if he could answer that in one sentence or less. He trusted him…in some ways, he guessed. He trusted him in battle. He trusted him…with Mondstadt, yes. Just…well…that was all very besides the point and this was really not the time. “Yes, sure,” he huffed.
“Excellent.” Kaeya smiled.
What was he—?
Then, Kaeya laughed, loudly and triumphantly, a wild look in his eye and he reached out for Diluc’s collar and grabbed it tight. His soft voice had turned into a shouting, mocking one. “Hahaha, end of the line, Darknight Hero! The Knights have no need of meddlers like you!”
What the fu—
He pushed him. Before Diluc knew what was happening, he felt his body succumbing to gravity, his feet losing their hold on the stone of Stormbreaker Point’s edge and following the rest of his body into the open air, suddenly void of every handhold or foothold within reach.
Kaeya fucking pushed him.
Diluc had to open his glider—fast. It wasn’t working. The hell was Kaeya thinking he couldn’t open it in time he was going to—
And then, he landed on something with a thud, much sooner than he should have. The surface uneven and scaly and distinctly familiar, it didn’t take him long to realize that it was a someone. Was that—?
Dvalin arced into the sky with a powerful beat of his wings, looping back around to the space underneath the cliff, coming in close at the moment Kaeya jumped off the edge as well. Diluc repositioned himself on Dvalin’s back to a place of more stability astride his spine and watched Kaeya make a much more graceful (much better prepared, that is) landing than he did.
Diluc’s first thought was that he was relieved to see Kaeya in one piece. His second was that it was time to demand an explanation. “What was that about?”
“Clever, wasn’t it?”
“You could have told me something!”
“But would it have believable to the mages if I did? You’re not that great of an actor, Diluc.”
“Your theatrics are utterly pointless,” Diluc huffed. “And now that we’re both gone, who’s going to stop them?”
“Well, look down,” Kaeya directed.
Dvalin had flown back up into the sky, well above the surface of the cliff but low enough that one could see exactly what was going on. Diluc looked down and saw, sure enough, some familiar forms attacking the small army on the cliff, now at the perfect position to pin them against the edge. He saw Jean herself, along with Amber, the Traveler, Eula, and a number of other knights as backup. Diluc had almost forgotten that Kaeya did tell him about the reinforcements. Looking again, he noticed even Venti hanging in the back, acting as if he were there for mild support and not the actual anemo archon. Dvalin’s presence was probably his doing. Wait, Kaeya didn’t know about Venti, did he…?
“Since we had discovered during our Golden Apple Archipelago adventure that our very curious bard friend is a good friend of our resident dragon, I thought I’d ask him for his assistance. Sure, there’s other ways we could have gone about this, but sometimes, striking fear into the hearts of your enemy is very much a job for ‘theatrics,’ as you called them.”
Well, it did make some sense, Diluc guessed. He was just relieved to see that the reinforcements in question were having little trouble that hoard which had given him such a difficult time solo. Still, the relief didn’t quite keep all the lingering irritation from his voice. “You really called in the knights.”
“Well, this may come as a surprise, but that is their job.”
“Hmph,” Diluc grunted. “You say that like it would have been easy to get the bureaucracy to trust an anonymous source about the attack happening in the first place. They’re consistently useless on matters like this.”
“So you still don’t trust them.”
“No.” He’s established this already.
“All of them?”
“I trust Jean,” Diluc clarified.
Although, he supposed she might not be the only one on the list. There were…some knights who knew what they were doing, mostly. And, he had respect for the Honorary Knight, not that they really counted as a “knight” in an institutional sense.
“Well, that’s a start.” Kaeya shook his head with a smile. “I’d be worried if you threw even her under the bus for doing nothing wrong at all.”
“It’s not like that.”
“Is it, now?”
“Kaeya, what are you even talking about?”
“Well, maybe I could bring to your recollection that because of your insistence on working alone, you walked into a rather significant ambush today, facing a threat to Mondstadt without bothering to communicate to the people of Mondstadt, and also sending poor Vind all the way to Dragonspine because you couldn’t be forthright on the potential danger to her life.”
“You know that last part was specifically your plan, right?”
“But you were the one who wanted me to make up an excuse.”
“You literally already had your plan in motion while I was talking to you this morning!”
“Are you two quite finished?” Dvalin’s booming voice rattled through their ribs, his point made quite loud and clear.
“Right, understood,” Kaeya agreed. “So, Diluc, ready to head back and get someone to look at that arm of yours?”
“I can still fight, if that’s what you’re thinking.”
“I do not think that would be necessary. They’ll be fine, and besides, I can always return to provide backup.”
“No,” Diluc refused. “If I’m seeing a healer, so are you.”
“So you’re fine with that, then?”
Dvalin was already ending his circling to start heading towards the city of Mondstadt, but Diluc could still look back and see the clashing forces on the cliff, now with two Ruin Guards down and many more mages extinguished or thrown off the edge. It was clear to see who the winning side was, now.
“It’s fine,” Diluc finally conceded with a steady exhale. “I trust them.”

I need to catch up on X-Men stuff. I love Tempo from as far back as X-Force #1 in the 90's
I'm probably gonna do a 'here's what you missed on Glee' post about the current state of X-Men stuff for people wanting to catch up or jump on at the House of X/Krakoa soft reboot point, but while there's plenty of good and bad about the current era, I do love the sheer creativity of it all, and like, the raised profiles of soooooo many minor or underrated X-characters from eras past.
What with the whole, y'know, mass resurrection of every mutant character to ever live, literally.
Like, communal living is a big thing on Krakoa and basically any and all 'squads' of mutants, both hero and villain alike, have their own group housing in the Akademos Habitat. The New Mutants all live together in this house called the Sextant, the Academy X kids all have their own place, the classic Hellions have their own place, same with the Gen-X kids, the Acolytes, etc. And the whole MLF live together in Omega House, and so we've seen Heather pretty regularly in the background around there like in stories featuring Wildside and other MLFers (even Thumbelina got a shout-out in SWORD, lmao) and also she's popped up in a few previous SWORD and Marauders issues, as well as being the source of Krakoa's famed whiskey exports, as apparently her time powers aging whiskey and wines to perfection in just a few hours is the secret ingredient behind the 'Port Genosha' vintages, lmao.
But anyway, Heather's part of the new Marauders cast going forward, and they're the book dedicated to mutant rescue and relief efforts.
The new lineup is Kitty (Kate) Pryde as captain and a member of the Quiet Council (Krakoa's ruling council of twelve), and previously the Red Queen of Hellfire, which is like, the economic cornerstone of the Krakoan nation. Up until recently, Kate, Emma and Sebastian all had seats on the Quiet Council and occupied the Red, White and Black thrones of Hellfire, but they gave up their Hellfire seats to focus just on their Council positions, so while Hellfire is expected to play a role in the new Marauders book too, since technically the Marauders are like the official agents of Hellfire's agendas, now the Black Queen is Lourdes Chantel (Sebastian Shaw's old teleporting girlfriend who famously died in the first attack of Sentinels back in the 80s but is now back), the five Stepford Cuckoos all share the White Queen's responsibilities and throne, and Emma's older brother Christian Frost is the new Red Monarch.
Co-leader of the Marauders with Kate is Bishop, who is 'Captain Commander' of Krakoa's forces during war-time, like basically Krakoa has four 'War Captains' who assume leadership positions whenever Krakoa's attacked or invaded, with the Captain Commander being like, the Captain of Captains. The other three Captains with him were at first Cyclops (who was initially the Captain Commander but gave his spot to Bishop recently to focus more on his responsibilities with the X-men), and Magik and Gorgon (the former head of Hydra - yes, mouthing wtf here is valid - but then he died in Otherworld during the X of Swords story event, and he came back different when they resurrected him because dying in Otherworld fucks with your soul and personality).
So Kwannon was named the fourth Captain in his stead. (Kwannon of course being the original Revanche, who got body-swapped with Betsy decades ago. They swapped back so now Betsy is in her original body and going by Captain Britain, and Kwannon is back in her body and using the Psylocke moniker).
Anyway, Kwannon is ALSO on the new Marauders with Bishop, which is kinda interesting that they put two War Captains on the same crew, but I mean, I love them both so not like I care.
And then rounding out the rest of the new crew now that Iceman, Pyro and Storm have all left, is Tempo, Akihiro (Logan's son), Aurora and new character Somnus, with dream manipulation powers.
Look at them, they look so good after kicking Brimstone Love's ass, I'm so proud of them. Sniff.
There's also supposed to be another member joining the team like two issues in, with it not stated yet for sure who it is, but all signs point to the final member of the cast being recently resurrected John Proudstar, the original Thunderbird.
