Okay, guys, here's your golden opportunity if you've ever dreamed of owning an old funeral home. Zillow, et al. ain't sayin' it was a funeral chapel, but there are signs and Home Tours found out for sure, even though their website has been removed. They still maintain 2 of their facilities & this lovely 1870 Queen Anne in Sheffield, Illinois was either just a viewing place- the preparations done at one of the other facilities- but, they don't show the basement, though, so who knows? 3bds, 3ba, and only $189K.
Tumblr media
The main entrance hall still has the coat rack for guests, and a piano.
Tumblr media
I don't know why this beautiful fireplace is in an alcove, but according to the description, there are 3 original fireplaces that aren't used, but they haven't been sealed up.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There's absolutely no mention of it, but these are clearly viewing rooms.
Tumblr media
Here's the 2nd fireplace and what could that closet have been? Maybe an old phone booth?
Tumblr media
Here's the office. Nice windows.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lounge with a sink.
Tumblr media
And, a restroom.
Tumblr media
The millwork is very much intact.
Tumblr media
Both stained and leaded glass windows.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This could be a primary bedroom and it has the 3rd fireplace, plus there's a second room that could be turned into a walk-in closet.
Tumblr media
It already has some shelves.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The kitchen was removed from the main floor, though, and relocated up here on the 2nd fl. in the family's quarters.
Tumblr media
They also removed the bathroom fixtures and made it a laundry room, but the pipes and stuff are still there.
Tumblr media
One of the secondary bedrooms.
Tumblr media
And, this vintage bath is still intact.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The 3rd bd. is in the front turret and has an en-suite.
Tumblr media
In the back is a little sun room.
Tumblr media
2-car garage w/storage.
Tumblr media
Looks like there's potential for a roof-top deck and a finished attic. The corner lot measures .44 acre.

Once F-4 crews told the SR-71 couldn’t go vertical after takeoff. They gave up after a Blackbird did a high-performance takeoff (with sensitive equipment replaced with ballast).
The SR-71
The SR-71, the most advanced member of the Blackbird family that included the A-12 and YF-12, was designed by a team of Lockheed personnel led by Clarence “Kelly” Johnson, then vice president of Lockheed’s Advanced Development Company Projects, commonly known as the “Skunk Works” and now a part of Lockheed Martin.
Tumblr media
CLICK HERE to see The Aviation Geek Club contributor Linda Sheffield’s T-shirt designs! Linda has a personal relationship with the SR-71 because her father Butch Sheffield flew the Blackbird from test flight in 1965 until 1973. Butch’s Granddaughter’s Lisa Burroughs and Susan Miller are graphic designers. They designed most of the merchandise that is for sale on Threadless. A percentage of the profits go to Flight Test Museum at Edwards Air Force Base. This nonprofit charity is personal to the Sheffield family because they are raising money to house SR-71, #955. This was the first Blackbird that Butch Sheffield flew on Oct. 4, 1965.
The Blackbirds were designed to cruise at Mach 3.2, just over three times the speed of sound or more than 2,200 miles per hour and at altitudes up to 85,000 feet.
Throughout its nearly 24-year career, the SR-71 strategic reconnaissance aircraft remained the world’s fastest and highest-flying operational aircraft. From 80,000 feet, it could survey 100,000 square miles of Earth’s surface per hour.
So, it comes as no surprise if, thanks to its astonishing flight characteristics, the aircraft has set numerous speed and altitude records throughout its career.
Tumblr media
Blackbird high performance takeoff
An SR-71 Blackbird mechanic who wishes to remain anonymous tells the following story;
‘I won’t say Who, I won’t say when, but I did see the SR go vertical ONCE and that was at Kadena [Air Base]. The F-4 jocks used to tell us when they were going to do a high-performance takeoff during an FCF (Functional Check Flight) so we could watch a “real takeoff”!
‘Our DET Commander had chewed his lip long enough and the stage was set. We finally had the kind of flight scheduled where the plan could be put in to action.
‘All sensors were removed and replaced with ballast. That included the ballast nose. This didn’t lighten the aircraft, but removed sensitive equipment, gyros and such. On the morning of the launch, the Fighter wing was notified. The SR did its thing getting ready to launch. Brakes released, burners on and once it was up, it accelerated just above the runway. And then, IT HAPPENED. It went vertical in full afterburner. It was loud AND impressive! Needless to say, it shut the F-4 lads up for a while.

CONNOR and CAITLIN — My Headcanons
Since American steam locomotives are a thing in Thomas and Friends, I am quite weirded out with Connor and Caitlin's in-television designs since they are based on American streamliners. The production didn't even look up different streamliners from the United Kingdom and missed out on a handful of interesting trains such as the LNER W1 Hush-Hush, LMS Streamlined Coronation Scot, the P2's and many more. For my headcanons for the two Streamliners of Sir Robert Norramby, I made Connor and Caitlin an LNER P2 (fictional) Prototype and an LMS Coronation class to fit the series' theme of British Steam Locomotives.
Headcanons for Connor
Connor is now an LNER P2, specifically a fictional prototype just like Gordon.
He is now painted Blue to match the color scheme of the A4's and their Coronation liveries. However, Connor's wheels are black instead of red.
Prior to being painted Blue, he was once Green like many of the LNER's engines.
His personality is rather snarky and would often tease anyone as well as rolling stock and humans.
He is numbered 2000 and is named "Lord Connor".
He used to pull the Coronation, a train service from London to Edinburgh.
Connor was the first to be purchased and saved from scrap by Sir Robert Norramby. He would be heartbroken to find that Caitlin wasn't rescued until 1971.
Headcanons for Caitlin
Caitlin is now an LMS Coronation class locomotive.
Her streamlining works as follows: A spare firebox door was specially built for Caitlin and the other Coronations to cover up the smokebox. Whenever their casings are removed, their original smokebox doors are placed back. The face that you see in Caitlin's illustration IS her original smokebox door, while the one inside the casing is the spare one.
Her number is 6249 and is named "City of Sheffield", a real-life locomotive. Caitlin hated that name and would often get called as "Sheff" from many of her colleagues, especially Connor. She would call herself "Caitlin" since it suited her better.
She is quite friendly to everybody, but gets easily irritated whenever someone teases her or hears an annoying sound like screeching.
She once pulled the Coronation Scot, a train service from London to Edinburgh.
Caitlin was rescued from the scrapyard in 1968, months after Connor. She was purchased by Sir Robert Norramby with financial support from Sir Charles Topham Hatt.
She was restored to working order in 1971 where she surprised Connor.
Tumblr media
The Edinburgh Incident, 193X
Headcanons in General
Connor and Caitlin's character dynamic in the show is similar to Hercules and Lillie Lightship from Tugs. Both are portrayed as lovers.
Connor first met Caitlin in the 1930's. He tried racing her to Scotland but ran out of water after refusing to scoop up water from a trough along the way. He was scolded by the Stationmaster and was reported to the LNER's head office for his reckless and irresponsible behavior.
During World War II, both engines shared a close relationship. They would often help one another until they became very close like star-crossed lovers.
Both engines were out of service by the 1960's. Connor was the only engine in his class to have never been streamlined, while Caitlin continued her British Railways career without her casing.
Connor fell into a deep depression after he was restored to working order, but he was informed by Sir Topham Hatt and Sir Robert Norramby that they will raise money to save Caitlin from the cutter's torch. His depression ended in 1971 when Caitlin arrived at Tidmouth Station with a passenger train.
Prior to Caitlin's restoration, she was transferred from the scrapyard to Crovan's Gate late at night so that Connor wouldn't see her. Sir Robert wanted to surprise him once Caitlin was restored to working order, but rumors by some engines say that a Coronation Class is in the Island being restored. The crew tried their best in hiding Caitlin by putting her in the shed so that her partner wouldn't see her, and tried their best in hushing up rumors.
The two engines pull special coaches with observation cars, or "Beavertails" as they are called. The TV show did not acknowledge their presence in real life, so I added them to stay true to railway history.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Connor: I'll race ya to Edinburgh, Sheff. See ya in the blink of an eye!
Caitlin: Do NOT call me that, you green goblin! Call me by my preferred name, CAITLIN!
Connor: Alright then, darling. If I reach Edinburgh, I still get to call you 'Sheff'. But if you reach there first, then I shall call you 'Caitlin'. Is it a deal?
Caitlin: It's a big fat damn deal. I'll race ya to Edinburgh!

So many lovies percieved me today 🙈 So thank you for your tags: @kiwiana-writes @theprinceandagcd @suseagull04 @hgejfmw-hgejhsf @getmehighonmagic @cricketnationrise (!!) @zwiazdziarka @ninzied (hello!) I had a horribly busy day at work and your words were my treat at the end of the day so thank you for sharing with me.
This is a snippet from Ch4 of The neighbours!au. We're oficially half way through the main story!! And ONE CHAPTER AWAY FROM THE PRIDE CHAPTER ASBDAK I've talked about it with some of you and I know you're as excited as me! Without further ado, words:
“Do not start,” Henry cuts him off, but he knows he can’t escape this.  “Feeling better, Hazza?” Pez crosses his legs and puts both his hands on his knees, very much a la Fran Fine on Mr. Sheffield’s desk.   “Much better, thank you Percy. Now if you don’t mind, I have a ton of work to catch up on,” Henry says dryly as he takes his laptop out of his satchel and places it on his desk next to Pez.  “You must have the very best nurse in town if you're feeling so good already.” Pez’s tone drips with teasing.  Henry takes a deep breath and sighs, reclining in his chair because he knows that if he doesn’t get this over with, Pez isn’t going to leave him alone, and he really does have so much to catch up on. He truly wishes he could avoid this conversation because Pez will only add fuel to his ever-growing infatuation with Alex, making him a delusional fool but he knows his mate too well and there’s no escaping this.  “All right, ask away.”  “Oh, good!” Pez claps two times and clears his throat, shifting on the desk. “Did he stay overnight?” He asks in a low tone. His eyebrows shoot up suggestively. “Only the first night.” Pez’s grin and eyes grow wider, but Henry interrupts him. “I wasn’t even aware of it until morning, so—” he gestures vaguely at his face. “Stop that.”  “It’s all so very romantic, H.”  “It hardly was. I felt disgusting. If anything, it was quite the opposite of that.” Henry muses for a moment, then adds and only because this is Pez, “Although, it was quite domestic. It felt nice to have someone there for me. To care for me.” Pez is possibly the only person who knows him well other than his sister Bea, so he'll know how significant this is. “You know I would have been there in a heartbeat if you had asked, darling.” “Of course I know.” “But he didn’t have to ask, did he? He did it anyway. And he really didn’t have to.”  Yes. It is exactly that that Henry keeps mulling over. He sighs and leans forward, starting to open tabs in his laptop and ignoring Pez’s comment. “Is there anything else?”  “When are you asking him out on a date, Hazz?”  “Goodbye, Percy,”  “Oh, Percy,” Pez mocks him and huffs at him, then jumps off his desk and starts walking out of Henry’s office as he yells. “She got nasty with me, ladies!”

The Nanny x reader (GN)
Fran Fine strolled through the park on a beautiful, sunny afternoon. Her heels clicked with each step she took on the path. She couldn't resist the allure of fresh air and greenery, even in the midst of her busy life. (Not according to Mr. Sheffiled but what did he know.) As she walked, she noticed a young person sitting on a bench, looking a bit lost and honestly, a little upset, quietly muttering to themselves.
Fran stood for a bit, watching as the person she hasn't met yet, sigh and run a hand through their [h/c] hair, before she approached them with her signature confidence and warmth, Fran struck up a conversation.
"Hey there, sweetheart, are you new in town?"
The young person looked up, startled by Frans sudden presence, their eyes filled with surprise and relief at the brunette woman who held a kind smile on her face.
"Yeah, just moved here. My name's [Y/N], and I'm trying to find a job." They started, with a sigh. "I'm having no luck."
Fran thought for a moment before she smiled kindly and sat next to [y/n] on the bench. "I'm Fran Fine. Nice to meet you, [Y/N]. Don't worry, we'll find you something. You've got that spark. Tell me, what kind of work are you looking for?"
[Y/N] explained their skills and aspirations to Fran, who listened curiously and as it turns out, [y/n] was a rather remarkable cook! Describing all they knew to make to Fran. With this knowledge, Fran's mind started racing with ideas.
She knew Niles didn't really like to cook. (In the last season, its quoted that he hadn't made a meal in 6 years, a year before Fran started working and was secretly ordering takeout.)  So why not bring in someone to help? Fran was sure with a little convincing and with Niles on board, she knew that would be a given, Mr. Sheffield would surely agree to it.
With that, Fran gasped excitedly, waving her hands frantically at her brilliant idea, "Doll, Why don't I ask my boss?"
[Y/n] blinked at Frans sudden enthusiastic outburst but couldn't help but smile a little, "You think he'll hire me?"
"Honey you just leave him to me." Fran started, pulling out her compact mirror from her handbag, opening it and smiling at her reflection before swiping her pinky across her teeth. "Just let me work my magic, he wont say no to me."
She winked, while closing her mirror and placing it back in her bag, before standing up and dusting herself off, adjusting her skirt. The two exchanged numbers and Fran promised to call as soon as she could.
With a wave, the two said their farewells and Fran made way to the Sheffield residence, with a skip in her step.
Fran Fine arrived at the elegant Sheffield residence with a sense of determination strong in her. She knew that convincing her boss, Maxwell Sheffield, to hire [Y/N] as the new cook wouldn't be easy, but she was determined to make her case if it was the last thing she'll do.
As she entered the grand foyer, she was greeted by Niles, the butler, who raised an eyebrow at Fran's unusually determined expression. "Ah, Miss Fine, what has you so fired up today?"
Fran flashed Niles a confident smile as she removed her coat and hung it in the coat closet next to the door. "Niles, darling, I've got a brilliant idea, and it involves Mr. Sheffield. Is he in?"
Niles, always amused by Fran's antics, gestured back towards the study. "He's in his office, Miss Fine. Good luck with whatever scheme you've cooked up this time."
Fran chuckled softly and made her way to Maxwell's office. She knocked lightly on the door before entering.
Maxwell Sheffield, a refined and composed man in his mid-40s, was sitting behind his desk, engrossed in paperwork. He looked up, a hint of surprise in his eyes at Fran's unexpected visit.
"Ah, Miss Fine, what brings you here?"
Fran entered the room with her trademark flair and confidence, striding over to Maxwells desk and sitting on the edge with her legs crossed. "Mr. Sheffield, I've got something to discuss with you, and I think you'll love it. It's about our kitchen."
Maxwell raised an eyebrow at this. "My kitchen? What's going on, Miss Fine?"
Fran began to explain her encounter with [Y/N], their impressive cooking skills, and how hiring them as the new cook could be a game-changer for the Sheffield household.
"Just think about it!" She said, spreading her hands out in front of her, (think SpongeBob saying "Imagination") as to paint a vivid picture of delicious meals.
"You could have whatever you desire!" She exclaimed, thinking about the desserts [y/n] had mentioned they knew to make, Fran could feel her mouth salvitaiting, she could really go for a chocolate right now. She dissmised the thought, she couldn't get distracted.
Fran continued, "Mr Sheffield, Imagine all that plus a happier Niles who wouldn't have to worry about the kitchen anymore." She stated with a smile, and like she expected, Niles, who was listening in, opened the door to the study.
"I agree with Miss Fine!" Exclaimed Niles, before clearing his throat. Maxwell listened intently to Fran and rolled his eyes at Niles.
But his skepticism started giving way to genuine interest. He admired Fran's passion and dedication, and he couldn't help but be intrigued by the idea.
Fran looked at Maxwell with hopeful eyes. "So, Mr. Sheffield, what do you say? Can we give [Y/N] a chance?"
Maxwell leaned back in his chair, considering Fran's proposal. "Fran, I must admit, your enthusiasm is infectious. Let's meet this [Y/N] and discuss the possibility. If they impress us as much as you say, we may just have ourselves a new cook."
Niles silently cheered before walking out to avoid any comment from Mr. Sheffield as Fran beamed with delight.
"You won't regret it, Mr. Sheffield! [Y/N] is a sure culinary genius, and I have a good feeling about this."
Maxwell smiled. "Very well, Fran. Let's arrange a meeting. But, remember, if this doesn't work out, it's on your shoulders."
Fran nodded enthusiastically. "Deal, Mr. Sheffield. You won't be disappointed."
And so, the wheels were set in motion, thanks to Fran's determination and charm. The prospect of [Y/N] becoming the Sheffield household's new cook brought excitement and anticipation to the grand old household.
A/n: I've been rewatching The Nanny. This is just for fun.
Ofcourse I don't own any right to any characters names used, ect.

Why Underfloor Heating in Sheffield is Crucial for Buildings
Underfloor heating Sheffield has become an increasingly popular choice for buildings in Sheffield. Known for its efficiency, comfort, and aesthetic benefits, underfloor heating offers a modern solution to the challenges posed by traditional heating systems. Here’s why underfloor heating is crucial for buildings in Sheffield.
Tumblr media
Sheffield experiences a temperate maritime climate, characterised by cool winters and relatively mild summers. However, winter temperatures often drop to levels that make efficient heating a necessity. Underfloor heating provides consistent and evenly distributed warmth, ensuring that every corner of a room remains comfortable. Unlike conventional radiators, which can create uneven heat distribution and cold spots, underfloor heating offers a comprehensive solution that combats Sheffield’s chilly winters effectively.
Energy Efficiency through Underfloor Heating Sheffield
One of the primary advantages of underfloor heating is its energy efficiency. Traditional radiators need to operate at higher temperatures to heat a room, often leading to higher energy consumption and costs. Underfloor heating systems, on the other hand, require lower temperatures to achieve the same level of comfort, as the heat is distributed more evenly across the floor. This can lead to significant savings on energy bills, which is particularly beneficial for the residents and businesses in Sheffield looking to reduce their carbon footprint and energy costs.
Space-Saving and Aesthetic Appeal
Underfloor heating Sheffield is hidden beneath the floor, freeing up wall and floor space that would otherwise be occupied by radiators. This is especially valuable in smaller properties or in buildings where space optimisation is critical. The removal of radiators allows for more flexible interior design options, creating a cleaner, more streamlined look. In Sheffield’s modern apartments and historic buildings alike, the aesthetic benefits of underfloor heating cannot be overstated.
Underfloor heating provides a healthier environment by reducing the circulation of dust and allergens. Traditional radiators can create convection currents that stir up dust, which can exacerbate allergies and respiratory issues. Underfloor heating operates through radiant heat, which minimises air movement and helps maintain a cleaner atmosphere. This is particularly important in Sheffield, where urban pollution can contribute to poor indoor air quality.
Underfloor Heating – Compatible with Diverse Floor Coverings
Underfloor heating systems are compatible with various floor coverings, including tile, wood, laminate, and even carpet. This versatility makes them suitable for different types of buildings and rooms.
