TIL that, surprisingly enough, animation software knowledge is hella useful in a hospitallary field for far more than making conversation to any graphical design patients, who'd've thunk

Steve starts debating with Eddie about music as a joke. He likes watching Eddie go on his passionate rants about the things he loves. The intensity in his eyes is as addicting, as his voice is a balm on his soul. Which is to say a *lot*. The thing is, is he doesn't actually know much about music. Like he knows a lot of terms by osmosis from simply knowing Eddie and Robin. But he doesn't actually know what they mean or how to use them to describe music. So he ends up just using his feelings to describe them. He thinks Eddie is just humoring him when he makes a show of considering his words. He assumes that the ones that end up on the mixtapes Eddie makes them to listen to when they're together, are just a mix of songs that Eddie tolerates and the handful of metal songs Steve has admitted to actually liking.
But Eddie, he's actually taking their little debates more seriously than he did all 3 years of senior year *combined* . He's absolutely*enamored* with the way Steve describes music to the point that he actually manages to convert Eddie on some of the billboard hits. He starts making mixtapes of all the songs Steve converts him to and the ones he catches Steve humming as a sort of love letter to him. Steve is absolutely floored the first time he catches Eddie singing along to an ABBA song. He's completely awed the first time Eddie actually requests a tears for fears song and even sings along with him.

THERE AIN'T NO ATLAS, KID. NEVER WAS.
if you peel him back far enough, there's nothing but a pile of theater masks
like, it's really fun how fontaine starts spiralling out the closer jack gets to him in the final arc of the game and returns to appropriating the image of family (the fake family in the beginning, the flawed father position later) to try and appeal to jack in some way but it's like. buddy. baby. you already took off your mask. anything you try and put on after this is going to come across as cheap and desperate. the magic is gone! and personally? I'm hooting and hollering

I prefer to imagine Jadzia not as someone who ‘by nature’ goes along with everyone but rather as someone who knows how to not let her personal opinions get in the way of a friendship, because she understand the value of forming close relationships with a wide variety of people. I think this says a lot about the level of conscious effort Jadzia puts into being with others, which comes up especially early on in the show when Benjamin and her were still readjusting to each other, but also the way she purposefully gets close to Kira even though in early season 1 Kira wasn't exactly easy to win over, especially for a Starfleet officer. Jadzia, I think, also alludes to her conscious choice to stick with people when talking to Julian in “Starship Down” about how his blatant crush on her made being close to him not exactly simple, and yet their friendship meant something to her and she stuck with it anyway. I find this somewhat more realistic than just a ‘natural’ predisposition towards people and network-building; rather, it's a skill, one Jadzia is incredibly proficient in, and imho a very admirable one. Which makes it even funnier when that skill reaches its limits and Jadzia gets snippy (ie her opinions get the better of her) or doesn't realize that the context she's in requires a different approach to the one that usually works for her (like in “The Ship”).

Looking at that graph and. Bunny about to throw hands huh
heeheee.... Bunny is technically considered a high level threat because he's notoriously terrible at articulating and processing his emotions... He has major anger issues, gets overwhelmed easily, and doesn't know how to communicate; and as such, his aerokinesis abilities are completely out of whack and more or less out of his control ... Sometimes they don't work at all, sometimes they're way too excessive, and they almost never work as he actually wants them to

Vale's long-time mechanic Alex Briggs agrees that his rider was let down by his inner circle. "My feeling is that the Yamaha team's press group let him down," said Briggs. "They never asked him what he was going to say in the press conference at Sepang. Or what are you doing with this paperwork? Because he had some time sheets as ammo. I think it all could've been stopped, because they knew to a degree something was going to happen."
Briggs has vivid memories of that season. “I thought Valentino was going to win it - I thought we were good enough.”
However, Briggs noticed that Vale did change during 2015. “Towards the end of the season he got very concerned with everything, he was trying to control everything. I remember the last few races he wanted War and Peace on the pit-board - he wanted to know who was behind him, how many people were behind him, the groups and so on. I don’t think you need all that - just look in front!
“I think part of it was that there were a few people around him that were a bit weaker than him, like the crew chief and the Italians in the team had become a bit ‘yessy’.
“I think he would’ve been better off just riding. Things got a little bit cloudy and he wasn’t quite as, I don’t know… It’s like when you’re playing golf; if you’re in the middle of your backswing and you start thinking about what you’re doing, you’re not being instinctive.”

Protected designation of origin (PDO) is a rule that makes it so some specific products (ie. cheeses like cheddar and parmegiano reggiano, liquors such as scotch or bourbon, etc) can only be "truly" that product if produced in it's original area it originated from. the seal is used to assure it's inherent good quality, and any attempts of recreating outside of that region and selling it makes it "counterfeit" food, which can be met with legal action even!
while it's a question about food purism, this is not a question about tangible quality, like the classic "is industrial cheese real cheese?" or anything that is about "what if there were Chemicals in this?". this is, assuming a producer recreated the original settings, is it inherently less good than the legal region it originated from?

GRANDMA HUA???
You're out picking flowers and Grandma casually drops that she used to be part of that incredibly cursed cult village your most incessant stalker drew a whole entire picture book about and uses as a light moral bedtime story.
THIS LADY RIGHT HERE. Conversation under the cut.
Grandma Hua: Better than the past when you had to trade something just to get a bite to eat...
Rover: Exchange?
Grandma Hua: Hmm...When I was younger, in another village, they had the habit of exchange.
Grandma Hua: Exchange...What exactly are we exchanging...?
Grandma Hua: I can't remember...Every time I think of the word "exchange", I get the heebie-jeebies...
