Has passed away almost a year since he was captured and brought back to Konoha alive. From winter to summer and winter again....

He never even considered the possibility of surviving the confrontation. His arrogance cost him deeply, for the village and its elders were not ready to let him go.

Did he ever consider the possibility of escaping? He discarded that idea the moment his wrists joints and neck were branded with curse jutsu, or as they call it now living prison jutsu. It was over. For this jutsu will not let him leave or fight. Seal was made to burn through his joints and wrists if he do not stop fighting. Seal also contained all of his chakra in. Without a possibility to use it. And third, if he tries to escape seal around his neck will behead him. His jailor Toshizō never far- like an additional shadow. Toshizō and Shisui were childhood friends and now they are a jailor and prisoner.

That shop? Still, stands? A bit bigger but still the same as when he was a child, swinging the owner's daughter on a swing, laughing and training together. Upon entering for the first time she was there. He would recognize her everywhere. He doubted that she would like to see him now. He didn't plan to come again anyway.

Wrong! He is regular now, better said part of her shop.

Snow covered all the tracks. This was his fault. He decided to avoid her. This winter came with lots of snow. She was outside cleaning, and there was by her side that bastard of his guard dog Toshizō. The man was not doing anything wrong, he even offered to help her clean the path to her shop. At that moment there was human emotion that he could feel. It was jealous.

"Who the hell gave you permission to sniff around?" Without mercy, Shisui punched the man in the face. Shackle jutsu prevented Shisui from using chakra, and it burned him when he tried to fight, looks like burning was not enough. A slap across his face stopped him, more like stunned him before she stormed back into her shop. She slapped him, in any other man that may awake outrage. In him that tension and interest growing tenfold now.

Leaning over, to her now, over the bar, she cleans his wrist, cursed shackle jutsu made his wrist bleed. He didn't care, not many people had the guts to even look his way far less to hit him. She cleans and wraps his wrist with bandages.

Tips of his fingers traced over her skin, at first just over her knuckles, over her tattoo. The fingers of a murderer were gentle and soft like a feather, able to cause pleasure and able to leave warm traces over her skin. She didn't pull away. She was just looking at him, and he was at her. That need, that urge to kill, to lift human skin just to see what is inside was gone now. With her was none existent, with her he was able to see all the colors.

Lingering touch continues to dance over her hair, safely tucking it behind her ear, with the outside of his fingers, with his knuckles he caressed her neck and her jaw. Men took him away...

After the incident, he was absent for ten days. A punishment was delivered for hitting Toshizō. Body pain and torture have no meaning has no effect on Shisui. He was tortured a thousand times, mentally and physically. All that bleaches before the true pain he was forced to feel during his time with the Akatsuki. Ninja can be strong he can be number one. But face him with Pain and his black rods that block all chakra and send constant pulse-like pain, combine it with three days of no food or water. Well, food can be tolerated but without water, your body starts to wither and your mind refuses to work going almost mad with thirst. For that three days, no drop of rain fell and it's always raining there!

He came back one day she was injured, he asked but what good that can bring? He can not leave and find that person, he is useless to her. He should never have allowed himself to bring her, them into this position. This is exactly why he discarded his human emotions. And when her fingers brushed his wrist all was blown away, it was just her and nothing else mattered. The whole life of his narrows to this moment. Her gentle touch is all he needs, it breathes life back into him, it sends sweet shivers over his spine.

"Please tell me what happened to you while I was gone?" He didn't know how to tell her I care for you. He was not sure is that even right to tell her, she could do much better than him. He presses a gentle kiss on her brow. He was dressed differently, covering most of his skin, so that she can not see bruises and cuts. He is unworthy to be the reason for her pain and worry.

the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT???? WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME?????????? and thus was verbal again

A fun Danny Phantom idea:

One of those “mediums tormented by the fact they can’t turn Off the ability to see ghosts” types moves to Amity, and for the most part, it’s great! Like yeah maybe there’s still ghosts everywhere, but now they can react normally, because finally for once in their life everyone else sees the ghosts too. Granted, judging from what everyone else says it sounds like they’re seeing significantly tamer humanoid proper-manifestations than the near-incomprehensible masses of emotion, spectral energy, and whatever that particular spirit’s associated with they’re used to seeing, but eh- between how jaded they are to seeing stuff like that after all these years and the fact that in practice the response of “GTFO” tends to be applicable regardless of whether you’re dealing with a poltergheist in overalls who likes hucking boxes at people, a giant robot guy who’s yelling about world domination, or reality breaking fever dream vomit, it’s not too big a deal

…There’s just ooooone little problem

Which is that when people look at the Fenton’s youngest kid and when people see local town hero/cryptid The Phantom, clearly everyone ELSE is seeing two different people/entities, but in their case, all they see is the same wild plasma-lightning living tear in reality either way, and they’re afraid if they mix the two “identities” up they’re either A) gonna fuck up some poor kid’s life/put him and those around him in danger, B) piss off a very powerful spirit whose repeatedly proven why that’s a very bad idea, or C) both-

(Bonus points if it’s some completely mundane guy like Ted the Bus Driver/ the county deputy in training/ some poor janitor who’d be reasonably expected to come in contact with either one fairly frequently-)

Holy shit I love your Dirk interpretations, it's so true and I could talk about this shit forever. I feel like another part of his character that people seem to forget (along with Roxy for some reason) is that he's from the future in solitude in an apocalyptic wasteland. I just see that part of his character always removed which is disappointing because I feel like that's a pretty big part, especially regarding his themes around technology, his brother's theme of Time, his own isolation, and how he plays in the vastness of the universe and spacetime.

But absolutely. I certainly understand where the lack of discussion over his isolation + upbringing comes from, considering a majority of the fanbase that I have seen builds their ideas based on their own version of postcanon. I’m not entirely sure how that would be fixed, but certainly even in the somewhat recent past I would see a lot more content regarding his upbringing both literally and symbolically. I don’t have much to add regarding the things you’ve mentioned, because they just are what they are. Dirk being confined to a singular room left to him by a father figure he never met, in a future where the only other person left on the planet is someone he cannot pursue a relationship of because of himself, with purely 3 robots to keep him companion, one being an exact replica of his own brain who is *also* trapped inside a pair of glasses, is about as literal as it gets to me.

The contrast to me involving the flooded, organic world in comparison to the little speckle of Dirk’s apartment packed with the dude and his technics is not only a representation of his isolation and entrapment within himself, but also of his lack of control. I think his obsession with & themes of control are a direct product in the case of Dirk specifically *of* this kind of upbringing. His themes of technology are also related to his themes around control. So much of his character is actually revolved around this to me like so much. Dirk is so deeply disconnected from humanity in every way and so much of his character + symbolism is based around that.

It doesn’t even have to be about the symbolism or anything though. It’s just pretty *interesting* in the literal sense that he lives in the middle of the ocean in the future. There’s not only a lot to theorise on to do with his young life there, but on how it might affect him in the way he acts for the rest of his life. The latter part is probably what I see mentioned the most by people talking about Dirk regarding this, I’m surprised I don’t see more discussion on the former too though. I really ought to actually talk more about Homestuck stuff on here. I will do it myself.

Roxy & Dirk’s relationship is largely ignored though because there is a narrative a certain demographic spreads that Dirk resented and blamed Roxy for her interest in him, and thus too many people believe that their relationship was or would continue to be an abusive one. Realistically, I believe it’s important to acknowledge that the way Roxy treated Dirk regarding his homosexuality wasn’t right while still acknowledging the obvious amount of respect and admiration Dirk had for Roxy. I mean we have a huge piece of dialogue from their post trickster mode conversations on the quest beds from Dirk purely stating how he feels about Roxy that people completely ignore somehow. I think this usually happens to characters that are women though. I know everyone says it, but it is true. Jane gets the exact same treatment of boiling her down to solely her negative aspects. The things I see completely mischaracterising both of them are horrific.

I mean how much more explicit can it get that their relationship is obviously very important to Dirk? But I digress. I think the best or I should say “most interesting” interpretations of their relationship usually come from DirkRoxy shippers actually.

I would be interested to hear about Dirk’s relation to his brother’s theme of time though. I don’t have any thoughts on this and I don’t recall ever hearing anyone talk about it before. If you or anyone else would be willing to enlighten me I’d be thrilled.

(though even Etsy has some bootleg pins that ship straight from china, so tread carefully…)

Every pin I've designed is, thus far, EXCLUSIVE to my etsy. if you find it anywhere else, it's been ripped off! and once these stupid bootlegs pop up, it's basically a never ending game of whack-a-mole trying to get them all taken down...

G.U.N issued him a bank account that they pay into, but he has absolutely no way of quantifying the amount in there. He was just told that he was not to give the numbers on the card to Rogue.

He once bought a $300 bag of coffee because he liked the packaging. He has a designer jacket that cost thousands and it was only when Amy pointed out that she knew the brand that he realised it must have been expensive. He’s bought VIP tickets for their concert trips more than once by mistake, then got frustrated when they tried to bring him backstage to meet the band (which he accidentally paid to do).

A few of his friends have described him as ‘surprisingly generous’ but truly he just has no idea what things cost
