She posed a fascinating philosophical question: Should deer be content to remain merely as prey? Should humans accept being pushed around and ordered about as if they were working oxen? Shisui didn’t. He fought and killed, transforming from a deer into a wolf, and then evolving into the beast standing before her now. How could she love him? How could he love her? How could a hunter fall in love with his prey, and why was she not afraid?
"I have no idea how to answer that question because I can not explain why I love you why you love me. All I know is that I would die for you. I would die if that means you would live."
He grins at her next statement, he could almost imagine her coming after him. He could almost imagine them fighting him taunting her to send her away or to make her end his miserable existence. Selfish. it is sickening how his mind works, thinking about how to burden others to kill him not having the guts to do it himself. The trouble was he was free after they hunted their opponents, but his prison was yet not set. He could kill Toshizo while he slept next to him near the campfire. Freedom without her had no point.
"Freedom without you is pointless. I could kill that pest of my guard, but then I could never see you again. I have no love for this village but you do. We are opposite and I can accept that, watching you I can almost see what I have lost. No corner in this village does not bring me some kind of painful memory. And all that bleaches away when I know I will see you again"
When she mentioned his skills and powers she was not far off the tracks, as a child and teen he was very skilled. Now? He came to that monstrous level. Unlike other Uchiha, his pool of chakra was extremely deep. He could last longer than any of his cousins. Proof is dead Sasuke. He was after all trained by Pain and that man was a force of nature.
"A little too forward? Oh, come on as if I can do anything indecent when I have a babysitter following me. He is cockblocking me. Is that how you say it these days" Shisui grins at Toshizo. "You are disgusting you know that. I will be outside I have no wish to look at you anymore" He replied with a grim look on his face. Before Shisui could add more he was outside.
"No sense of humor at all. Such a pity. Yes, we can go right away. The house was destroyed. I repaired all and bought furniture and just when I wanted to invite you, this happened. " He now realized that they were alone...alone he could kiss her the way he wanted. And he did wrapping his strong arms over her back. He held her in place tasting what was denied to him for so long. "Now we can go"
@kcgarashi
Leaning forward slightly, she stood on her tiptoes and returned his kiss. Once, twice, and she leaned forward for a third time, emboldened by the fact they were hidden. Even when she did manage to tear herself away from him, she seemed on edge, ready to bolt forward and press her lips against his at a moment's notice.
"Ah, no order to simply pluck out your eye and leave you for dead? How cruel." A tattooed hand moves to grasp the front of his clothing, not an attempt to push him back. She loved the village, a place where she never truly fit in, the people more so. But as she grew older, Rera became aware of its shortcomings. "A wolf may become docile under the right circumstances, but you can't change its nature. But is the deer supposed to be content being prey?"
A pause; he knew her well and knew what she wanted to ask before she'd even opened her mouth. Or perhaps she was simply predictable? "I know you wouldn't run away. If you ran away, I'd hunt you down to the world's end, Shisui Uchiha, and drag you back to my side." Selfish. When it came to him, she was impossibly selfish. Had she ever wanted anyone like she wanted him? At one point, she'd considered Shinbei the love of her life, but her feelings towards Shisui made that seem like a paltry crush at best.
"I almost don't blame them; who would want to face you? You were a force to be reckoned with before you went rogue." And now? Even shackled, something was unnerving about him; she knew others felt it, and it was easy to sense the trepidation; some had even voiced it to her.
"Since you disappeared, clearly," she remarked dryly, pulling a face. "It was supposed to be something different from coffee or sake. This is supposed to be a tea shop." Not that anyone would ever be able to tell by the amount of coffee she seemed to drink. She seems to perk up at the suggestion of seeing his old home. Would it still look the same? Before the...demise of the Uchiha clan, she'd thought about that place often. There were fond memories there. Of when they were younger, when things didn't seem so complicated.
"Inviting me to your home is a little forward, isn't it?" A teasing tone, Matarera knew the invitation was most likely a chaste one. But that wouldn't stop her from making the comment. "Is it like it used to be? I never really wanted to go near it after...you know..." she trailed off. "But I want to see it, can we go now? Sango and Bikki are in, they can manage without me."

The concern in her eyes is unfamiliar to Shisui. He expected to see fear, to watch her retreat from him and from everything else in order to preserve her own life. But he knows her well—her nature, her habits, her behavior. Was he hoping that she would make this easier for both of them? He didn’t want to let go, but he also didn’t want her to get hurt because of him. A nagging uncertainty continues in his mind as he closes his eyes and opens them again. He knows he wants her, but he also wants her to live.
How did it come to this? No, how did Uchiha Shisui end up in this situation? He was once the face of the law, a trustworthy ninja, someone people relied on. Now, he had become a monster who would kill to satisfy his own dark side. His split personality felt like two sides of a coin, constantly battling for control over his heart. However, ever since he met her again, he felt complete. The killer and the ninja were now in perfect sync.
The tension between them was incredibly strong, like a living thing pressing against Uchiha Shisui, luring him toward his demise. It was palpable—a force in itself that craved fulfillment. Once it was satisfied, it would never disappear; it would only ask for more, more, and more! He leaned down, stealing one kiss and then another, shielding her with his body so that Thosziso couldn't see her.
"My bodyguard kill me? He’s too foolish for that. He has strict orders to keep me alive, no matter what." He leans in closer to her, nearly pinning her against the counter. "I bet anything that they threatened his family if he lets anything happen to me. That’s how this village operates. After all, can you blame a wolf for killing a deer?" It was clear that he still harbored deep resentment for this village.
"Go ahead I know you want to ask. How did I feel set free? Was I thinking of murdering Toshizo and running away? Did I unleash my full power? Yes..yes I did. I chased them with my Susanoo. Like a beast set out of its cage, I was. Like a bird who finally could soar into the sky. They were all dead before they could counter me. But not even once I wanted to run away or kill Toshizo. Whatever they thought they would achieve it went bad for them. I did hear them when they interrogated Toshizo that cursed shackle jutsu when abruptly removed renders the target unconscious. They hoped for that probably."
His expression mirrored hers when he tasted the tea. "Since when do you drink this?" he asked, setting the cup aside. "Would you like to see my house? I've made it livable again. I wanted to cook dinner and invite you over, but those insufferable cloud ninjas got in my way."
"It's...you know...when he looks away!" A hushed whisper, the shyness apparent in her tone. Public displays of affection weren't alien to her, she'd. But that's the problem, isn't it? It's not really a public display of affection when there's only one member of the public around. If it weren't for their little bystander, it'd have been easy to kiss Shisui without a second thought. Instead, Rera melts into his touch, her cheeks turning warm. She lived for the little touches, the small gestures that made them seem normal, a perfectly ordinary couple in perfectly ordinary circumstances.
"Then let it remain with the village. They knew what would happen when they..." she trails off. The village knew what they would be inviting into their territory when it was decided that Shisui would live. She's unaware of the situation, all she knows is that he turned up one day. Someone she'd written off as practically dead, back from the grave and closer than ever. Ok, she knows more than that, but the internal politics of it all are lost to her. She’s a teacher and a loyal shinobi, it’s never been up to her to question the thoughts of those who make decisions.
Yet he tells the story any way and Rera can’t hide the concern in her eyes or the frown on her face. There’s an urge to tell him to be more careful, admonish him. Seeing her isn’t worth his life or any kind of pain, whether he feels it’s deserved or not. She should hate him, turn away from him but it’s hard to do that when she’s cared for him for longer than she can remember. But what’s the point? It’s impossible to change one’s nature. “The moment that jutsu was broken it would’ve been easier for your bodyguard to kill you, in anyone’s eyes you were a liability the moment that happened.” Like a wild animal in a cage, she could only imagine the moment he had been freed from the jutsu. The freedom, the excitement and the trepidation all at once. “But maybe that was the collateral.”
She took a quick sip of her tea, not quite as enjoyable as the coffee she preferred but a caffeine rush wasn’t what needed right now. The teacher nodded intently, missions lasting a while weren’t new to her. But it was strange to have been the one unknowingly waiting around. A slight smile played on her face briefly, perhaps he’d grown fonder of Toshizo than he’d cared to admit. Or perhaps it was all pragmatic. That eye of his was valuable, best to eliminate whoever actively sought to take it. It sent a message to anyone else who wished to try.
"Ah, I see. Clearly not the most intelligent lot then, you'd know it was a trap, you wouldn't have fallen for it." A soft tone as she trails her fingers across his wrists, rubbing small, soothing circles into his skin. She's not sure if she believes her own words. The other plan was better. There's a cynical part of her who thinks it's better he has the excuse of self-defence, less suspicion, less doubt of his intentions.

He pouted when she said she wouldn't kiss him. "Not now? When then?" That annoying Toshizo wouldn’t move anytime soon. He turned to glare at Toshizo, who just shrugged; this was not his idea. But when she touched him, nothing else mattered. Her fingers brushing against his skin left a tingling warmth, just as it always did as if it were the first time. She was the light in his darkness, guiding him and pulling him out of his hell. She had his full attention; he was hers. If anyone could control him and calm him, it was her. He looked into her eyes, his palm rubbing her cheek, his fingers sinking into her hair.
"Probably not. I wouldn't even share that information because it's a matter that needs to be resolved in this village. An old grudge has been reignited by the discovery that there is still a living Uchiha. Normally, I would never discuss a mission, and my guard dog wouldn't allow it either. As you know, missions are kept secret. I was once part of the Anbu; it feels like it was in another life."He sighed, taking her hand between his palms, toying with it while talking and drinking tea.
"One moment I was walking toward your shop and the next I was attacked by five shinobi who claimed that they are taking revenge for killing Sasuke. Full of pride and all alone I grinned to their faces drawing my sword. Pretty bad idea when my own blood my own body was shackled with this jutsu." He empathed his story by touching black brands on his wrists. Fear settled in my bones when pain bend me in half, but not fear that I will die but fear that I will never see you again. Instead of dying, I was free. The jutsu was undone. But how was that possible when this dog is still alive to follow me" He points at Toshizo. "At first I thought he undid it, but he didn't one of my opponents did. They were not Leaf nin, it was a clever ploy coming from Cloud Village. They want my eyes, they wanted my guard dog dead and me to follow them."
He placed a mug on the wooden counter. "I wasn't allowed to see you. Quickly, Leaf Nin intervened and took both me and Toshizo. Toshizo was accused of conspiring with them and promising me freedom in exchange for my eyes. We needed to prove Toshizo's innocence. We were sent on an undercover mission where I could seek my revenge and punish them for separating me from you, and for the very idea that they had first."
"Their initial plan was to abduct you and force me to come after them."
If she hadn't returned his embrace, she would've regretted it the moment he pulled away from her. Loving Shisui felt as easy as breathing sometimes; other times, it felt like the most damning thing she'd ever done. How much were the both of them giving up for the sake of these feelings? Any chance of some regular, ordinary life that she'd one day hoped to lead flew out of the window. No matter how their story went, the ending wouldn't be happy. Something she'd made peace with when that silly childhood crush bloomed into something more.
"Good. If you didn't have the nerve, you wouldn't be the sort of person I was interested in," she shot back, eager to meet that false sense of bravado with her own. Had there been trepidation there before? Did he honestly think she'd stop caring about him after so long? Occasionally, she'll think of Shisui Uchiha as nothing more than an enigma, but Rera often feels like she knows him better than she knows herself. Did he feel the same way?
"I'm not kissing you here," the brunette stated before hastily speaking again. That hadn't quite been what she meant. "Not in front of Toshizo," an embarrassed mumble as she glanced up at him, slowly untangling herself from him, nudging his shoulder with her fist. It was impossible to stay mad at him when it was just the two...three of them. Ugh. When weren't they in front of Toshizo? If anyone had told her this was how her childhood crush would turn out, she wouldn't have believed them. She felt sorry for the man. Guarding a criminal was bad enough. Guarding an enamoured criminal who spent most of his time at a tea shop, of all places? Well, that sounded downright painful. Not that she could complain.
She pauses for a moment, taking the time to pour some tea; there's a small chance they'll get interrupted, but it's important to be comfortable, right? A deep breath, a thousand little questions are running through her head, different from the ones she'd dwelled on since the last time she saw him.
"What happened?" A good place to start. Not what she wants to know, but it's good enough. A tattooed hand reaches for his wrist, grasping it gently as she takes the time to really look at him. "Better yet, do I want to know?"

She tensed up, and his heart nearly broke. The feelings he had for her felt like a weakness—feelings he never wanted. Yet now, he lived for those moments and the chance to see her again. Nothing else mattered. In truth, he still felt like an outsider in the village, even in her café. Only in her arms did he feel at home. If he were banished from her embrace, he would have no reason to stay or obey in the village. In that case, he could die and find peace; his death would at least free Toshizo from this burdensome duty.
Shisui had always been the wolf, but today he found himself frozen in place, feeling more like a deer trying to hide from potential danger. Although only a few things could physically harm him, emotionally it was a different story. The Uchiha understood that he was a dreadful creature, especially when in his true form, which would remind others of a devil: eyes like blood and a flock of crows following him. Today, he felt like a deer in her arms.
He fought the urge to pull his hand away from her....
....but....
Her embrace comes like a relief to a drowning man before her fingers curl forming fists. He knew he was in trouble. That was good that means she still cares.
"Of course I do. If I didn't have the nerve, I wouldn't have returned after disappearing without a trace. I am Uchiha, and you are mine. I always come back for what belongs to me." His response, in a voice that masked his uncertainty and fear, seemed confident. But it was a hollow bravado for her; she understood him just as well as he understood her. She could see his heart, see through his facade. He laid himself bare before her.
“It’s really me, along with my faithful shadow behind me, as you can see. I wonder if you’ll greet me with a punch or a kiss?” He flashes his cocky, boyish grin at her. “We should probably talk while this shop is still empty.”
It was stupid of her, really, to assume they could have something, anything. But those little, stolen moments that acted as a facsimile of a real relationship had given her a false sense of hope. She'd been damned the moment he'd stepped foot in the building. Some ridiculous childhood crush coming back from might as well have been the dead.
It should have been easy to write him off as a whirlwind who had come into her life, disrupted it entirely and left a disaster in his wake. But she'd always been the sentimental type, the fact he'd even returned to the village alive was a miracle. Even if he wasn't the same person he had been when they were younger. And yet...
The presence of a visitor made her pause. Matarera may have helped out at her family's little restaurant and spent most of her time teaching children, but she was still a kunoichi. She'd even been a talent at one point. Most of her customers called her when they wanted something. There's no point in politeness in a place designed to be homely, it's good, she likes it that way. She raises her head just to see who the new patron might be; instead, she finds herself encircled in a familiar hold and- no, it couldn't be.
Shisui?
Held tightly, the kunoichi went stiff in his arms, and her breath hitched as she tried to control that swirling vortex of mixed emotions. His touch comforts and devastates her. To say she doesn't know what to feel is an understatement. A part of her wants to hold him and never let go again. Another to tear him to shreds, verbally, physically, anything. It's been so long. Tattooed hands shift upwards to return his embrace before they clench into fists instead.
"You have some nerve, you know?"
Not the most romantic of statements, even with the obvious sense of worry in her tone, not with those complicated feelings churning within her. But it's better to speak than to act, she's unwilling to make a scene in the little shop. No matter that it was empty for now, there was no guarantee it would remain that way for long. The idea of being walked in on didn't seem appealing, yet she can't quite bring herself to pull back. Not now. Not yet..
"Is it really you?"

Twisting to evade more tickles and bites was futile, especially now that Itachi had him in a hug that locked them together. "It's not fair, you're cheating! You know all my ticklish spots," he protested as he twisted again before leaning back into Itachi's embrace. "We need to keep the audience excited about us, and most of the time, they're more enthusiastic about you. If we collaborate, it will create more opportunities for both of us."
Shisui's gaze remained focused on the stage and the opportunity that had already been arranged. He let out a sigh of relief. "You know I would only ask if I weren't sure about your opinion. Most of the time, our goals and ideas align," he remarked. It was true; they knew each other as well as they knew the back of their hands. Some might consider their relationship boring and unexciting. After all, many assumed they partied day and night, indulging in drugs and drinks and women. However, despite the wild persona they projected on stage, their real lives were calm and secluded—at least until fans chased them.
"Right, you aren't shy, just a bit blushy," he teased, leaning in to kiss Itachi on the cheek. "Kumiko-san will sing anything you wish, as long as she gets a few pictures with you. She also wants to propose that we make a duet for her next project."
Shisui felt a pesky headache creeping back in. "I swear, I hate how drinking always leads to a headache," he said, moving his laptop aside. Being taller and stronger, he manhandled Itachi, seeking some cuddles. "Hold me; the headache is back. I can hardly think anymore; I need some rest. In the morning, we can pack and travel to our next destination. I’ll try your new makeup then."
«Purple sounds interesting.»
ㅤItachi had to admit, when it came to make-up either on or off the stage, he was a lot less creative than Shisui could be. Usually, the choice would be a simple combination of dark eye shadow and dark eyeliner, occasionally with some glitter sprinkled on top just for that added layer of flamboyance. His boyfriend, though, loved to go crazy with the colors and the styles. No doubt, a purple masterpiece was about to be born soon.
ㅤAs Shisui shared the news, though, his eyes widened slightly in astonishment. «You mean... the Koda Kumi?» A name that he immediately recognized, of course. Who wouldn't? Pulling his arms back so that Shisui could move more freely and reach for the laptop, regardless Itachi didn't stop himself from pinching his lover's side as punishment. «Don't decide such things without talking to me first.» Which he said in a chastising tone, mostly because he always felt the need to be in control of everything that was happening... but the annoyance didn't last too long. It was a fantastic opportunity and, all jokes and teasing aside, he did trust Shisui to know what he was doing and to make the best decisions for the band.
ㅤMaking himself sit up as well, he inched closer to his boyfriend again and rested his chin on Shisui's shoulder, squinting at the laptop screen - currently too lazy and too comfortable to go get his glasses. Even if the photos of the stage looked blurry to his eyes even from such a short distance, but he'd properly look at everything in the morning. For the time being, he wrapped his arms back around Shisui's waist and playfully placed a bite on that same shoulder. «I'm not shy.» Introverted was a better choice of word, in Itachi's opinion. «Do you think we can convince Kumiko-san to perform 'Real Emotion' with us during the event? I love that song, it's in one of my favorite video games.»
