Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I try to respond to as many comments as I can, though sometimes, I just don't have the energy. The ones I do reply to are usually ones that make me laugh or have non-spoilery questions~

What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?

Daughter of Death, definitely. Though, it's sequel, Daughter of Rebirth, might be tied with it.

What's the fic you've written with the happiest ending?

Taming a Monster. Only because, other than the aforementioned Mulan fics, it's the only fic on my account that's actually finished LMAO

Do you write crossovers?

Not really. I do sometimes sneak little easter eggs into my fics, though. Like in Finding Their Place/Azying, Ned the Piemaker from Pushing Daisies is the brother to Adela. And in my PotC fic, I plan on Emil running into Edward Kenway from Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (among others).

Have you ever received hate on a fic?

Yeah. Some people didn't like that my oc for Taming a Monster was dark skinned. Not that she was half troll, but that she was dark-skinned in a Viking-Based fandom. Also got one hate comment on Of Sparrow and Drystan because someone was pissed Emil was actually a woman....But that's about it.

Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I sometimes do, but I don't post it. Because I don't need all my kinks out in the open. I'm nervous enough posting my drawn smut LOL

Have you ever had a fic stolen?

I...don't think I have. I do know someone was translating Taming a Monster into Russian, so if ever anyone ever came across that, please know it was done with permission.

Speak of the devil, I just mentioned this =D

Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Nope. My friend and I were going to try co-writing an Avengers fic a few years ago, but we never got around to it.

What's your all-time favorite ship?

We talking canon x canon? Or can we include oc x canon? Because, tbh, I don't really hardcore ship any canon x canon ships, aside from Will and Elizabeth from PotC or Kaz x Inej from Six of Crows. So maybe those? Or Bofur x Thorin. Otherwise, my favorite ships are mostly ot3s with an oc involved.

What's a WIP that you want to finish but don't think you ever will?

Daughter of Life, the final part of my Mulan series. I just got so incredibly burnt out on it that even thinking about it makes me feel like that one meme of Ben Affleck smoking.

What are your writing strengths?

People tell me it's my descriptions and keeping the characters...well, in character.

What are your writing weaknesses?

I struggle with shorter stories and that, in turn, gives me burn out. I've gotten better about writing shorter chapters over the last couple of years, though.

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

I do it sparingly, unless it's a made up language like Khuzdul. But even then, I try to keep it limited because I know there are people who actually speak neo-Khuzdul and would probably want to strangle me for the way I write it LOL

What's a fandom/ship you haven't written for yet but want to?

None, really. I just want to be able to get the gumption to work on my own stories soon LOL

What's your favorite fic you've written?

Since you say 'written', I'm assuming this means finished fics. So in this case, it'd have to be Taming a Monster. If we're talking fanfics in general, then Azying. It's got more of my headcanons and worldbuilding in it for the Hobbit than HDBN, since I allow myself more freedom to play around (and did I mention it's an everyone lives AU?)

Hornbeam selects for its life mate the talented witch or wizard with a single, pure passion, which some might call obsession (though I prefer the term ‘vision’), which will almost always be realized. Hornbeam wands adapt more quickly than almost any other to their owner’s style of magic and will become so personalized, so quickly, that other people will find them extremely difficult to use even for the most simple of spells. Her careful tending and motherly focus has made her a favorite teacher for Seth. He regards her as if she were a favorite aunt and heeds her guidance with the same respect.

Professor Flitwick- What he lacks in size, he makes him in his determination, heart, and ambition. Seeing that there was potential in Drystan, he motivated the Gryffindor towards success. Sure, his focus may seem a bit wavering at times, he means well. As he endeavors his students towards their personal best, he appreciates his sort of instruction.

Professor Rakepick- Her teaching methods are a bit reckless and overambitious. She seems driven to prove something but he’d rather it not be at his expense.

BACKGROUND/HISTORY

Seth was only two years old when his family life erupted into chaos. It was during a family outing to stargaze when Moriah’s new reality began to set in. As her limbs contorted in pain, Kaizer grabbed his toddler and ran to the car. There they waited out the gruesome terror until Moriah was herself once more. Fearing what this would mean, Kaizer devised a plan to fake Moriah’s death. As his finances began to spiral out of grief, he was forced to give Seth up for adoption. The result was the placement in his uncle’s house.

At the age of twelve, he began to feel a similar attraction to boys as he does with girls. It was slight confusion but he paid no attention to it. It wasn’t until a few months later when he began to develop a crush on his best friend that he realized something might be ‘wrong’ with him. He took a risk with his friend and found such affections returned. However, this wasn’t to be a happy occasion as his father beat him severely upon finding out.

He has dated Corbyn Reyes (ages 14 and 15, respectfully). This only lasted for 3 months as their personalities continued to clash. It was intense, explosive and with a force of wills to match. It didn’t help that they didn’t share similar moral values or understand each other’s signs of affection. They broke up on hostile terms.

The drama involving the Silva’s and Drystan’s have been carried down through the centuries with most of it being forgotten by the Silva’s. The Drystan’s, however, maintain that this feud was the result of Silva greed and impotence. No one really knows the story. With the somewhat-recent history involving the Silvas, the members of the Drystan family are assured in their ascension to surpass them; as is their right.

PERSONALITY

Charismatic:  Sociable and somewhat understanding, Seth prides himself on the ability to win over almost anyone. It helps that he can read a person generally well.

Condescending. This is a part of his arrogance as he tends to talk down to those who he believes to be inferior to himself. This is obvious in his actions but, more often, it is evident in his manner of speech.

Diplomatic: This comes from being raised by a politician. He is sensitive (only to matters that counts) and is able to deal with the general public effectively and efficiently. This is provided nothing bigoted leaves his mouth.

Hedonistic: The finer things in life were made for him. Check the receipt. He was created for a lavish lifestyle. It may be a weakness but he’s fine with that.

Prejudiced: Muggle-borns and werewolves. There are probably more but these are the most common. He isn’t a fan of half-breed creatures and considers them to be revolting.

Got bored the other day and started to sketch out some members of Emil's crew~ These lovely people are who keep the Lady of the Lake functioning, whether Emil's around or not. With the exception of Jerry and Finn, they're all basically 'officers', though Finn gets treated like one anyone because, 1) his age and 2) he keeps the crew as well fed as he can.

All of them are 100% human...except Jerry. He's Emil's paternal cousin, so he's not fully human--maybe not even human at all. I haven't quite decided what he is yet, aside from a nuisance.

Out of all these folks, Killer was the only one who existed back when I first made Emil in my teens. She was still surgeon and first mate back then (quartermaster now since pirates sometimes had a slightly different way of having their crews organized) but she didn't have a sister. Literally the only reason she got a twin sister named Mercy was because I thought it was hilarious to have the person saving lives named Killer while the one taking lives was Mercy.

And Tafari is just as adorable as his sister, Mary~

The behemoth is finished!!!!

Emil in goddess form chilling with some mermaids. The blonde is Mira, who belongs to @oli-mei-xue-via, the blue and gold one is Merilwyn, and the other two...are random merladies. 

Anyway, as the half human daughter of the ocean god, Llyr, Emil inherited his powers to control the ocean, as well as weather prediction and the ability to turn into this form. She’s not the biggest fan of showing off this form, though, since you can clearly see that it shows off her feminine assets. 

Jack and Mary, however, are big fans of this form ;D

Seeing a bunch of nifty Mari Lwyd art/prop making/etc stuff the past few weeks made me want to draw Emil scaring Jack with one. Because she's the daughter of the Welsh sea god, Llyr, and she's a pirate, she took some creative liberties and made hers a seahorse instead of a land-horse.

It's been my little 'i need a break' project while i did the lineart for Bair and Hakan's pic.

Drew this traditionally, then everything else is done digitally. I did the black and white version first and then slapped some color on over it~

Lookie-loo, Lone Ranger (2013)!AU for PotC~

In this AU, Jack is half Native. Teague (who I didn't draw out of laziness) is an ex-fur trader who fell for and married a Native woman and who lives with the tribe. He's mostly known as Sparrow.

Tia Dalma takes Red Harrington's place, but instead of getting her leg eaten, she just has a severely broken heart thanks to Jones. She's also Mary and Tafari's aunt in this AU, owns a brothel and a saloon, and is a mistress of the occult. The brothel name, 'Faithful Bride' is stolen from the tavern Arabella Smith's dad owns in the young Jack Sparrow book series.

Mary and Tafari work in their aunt's saloon (currently unnamed).

Cutler Beckett is a railroad tycoon and wants to purchase all the big, money-making establishments in the city to make more $$$, which is why he ends up kidnapping Mary and Tafari. With Jones' help, he plans on putting a ransom on their heads that'll force Tia Dalma's hand.

Jones runs the Flying Dutchmen gang of bandits.

Emil is the niece of the lead ranger, Drystan Crunn, who was sent to live with her uncle when her stepfather got sick of her attitude. A good portion of the town knows that she's his niece, but don't really care when he brings her up as a nephew. She's more competent that John Reid and isn't afraid to use a gun--but like the original Lone Ranger, she prefers to shoot to disarm/disable rather than shoot to kill.

Emil and Jack meet on the train, in a similar fashion that Tonto and John meet in the movie. Jack also doesn't find out she's a woman until around the point in the movie where John and Tonto managed to ambush Cavendish at the silver mine.

Jones and Beckett don't get killed; instead, Jones manages to escape and Beckett continues to secretly fund Jones' shenanigans in various attempts to get more control over the town/territory.

....I sure did write a lot of lore down despite knowing only 3 or 4 people are going to bother reading through it all 😆

And it's done~! Emil, Mary, and Jack being an adorable poly pirate party on the beach.

Inspired by the covers of old romance novels and the trope of the woman having to pick between the handsome nobleman and the dashing scallawag. Only, since Emil is a pirate and a nobleman/woman, Mary gets both~! And, of course, Jack is trying to seduce both of them at the same time....and succeeding.

I tell you what, though: I am not doing another large piece like this for a while 😂😂

I finally finished the Thing!!! I only slightly regret doing three characters for each panel, but by gods, aren't they all fricken adorable?

And then you realize Jack's grinning so broadly in each panel because he's getting to see form of his girlfriends' cleavage.

I kind of failed on the sideboob, tbh. Originally, Emil and Mary had sideboob showing, and Jack's sleeve holes were low enough to show his, but then I threw Emil in a binder, realized I had done Mary's arm wrong and fixed it, and then changed Jack's shirt. D'oh.

Also, getting a modern Jack to look like, well, Jack was a bit challenging, since I basically picture him as Johnny Depp with a bit more nautical flair. I think I did a decent job of making him look more Jack than Johnny, though. BTW--His tattoos were a pain in my ass.

Also x2, Mary??? is just so fucking adorable??? No wonder Emil and Jack fell for her.

Emil and Fitzy are done~ Fitz looks like he’s ready to slap some irons on her but I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t be able to get her to a jail cell or down to the brig because he’d be dragging her to his office/cabin 👀👀

Reminder: Fitzy (better known as Fitzwilliam P. Dalton the Third) is from the young Jack Sparrow book series by Rob Kidd. He’s actually Norrington’s cousin! He and Emil have....history 👀 He ends up being one of a handful of non-family members who know her full, true name.

Another WIP I finished inking today. 

Emil reuniting with Fitzwilliam P. Dalton the Third (a character from the young Jack Sparrow series by Rob Kidd) after some decades. She eventually gets some facial scars that keep her from switching between her Drystan (pirate) and Traharne (nobleman) selves, so she decides to embrace pirate fashion, letting Jack and Mary decorate her hair. She also eventually gets a hat, making her a true pirate captain (a joke between her and Jack). 

I think i made Emil too attractive here...Sorry not sorry

Just the doodle page i did over the course of the week. We’ve got Bair holding George bridal style (and just barely holding him up); Emil in an Assassin’s Creed Black Flag inspired get-up; Emil and Jack staring dreamily at Mary; and my Avengers gal, Lucifina, playing with a bottle of alcohol (she’s a flair bartender in addition to being an Avenger). 

Believe it or not, Emil, Jack, and Mary took the least amount of time--maybe three hours total. But Bair and George took about four days total :’) I’m happy with Luci from the boobs up, but i didn’t get her hips wide enough. And Assassin Emil...I’m indifferent about her lol
