The results of me watching Renegade Nell and deciding after the season finale that she and Emil would be interesting buddies.

But why is Emil up in Tottenham in 1705? She's supposed to be down in the Caribbean, doing piratey stuff. Truthfully, I dunno and I don't care. I just wanted to draw her and Nell hanging out.

And, of course, Nell's surprised that Emil can see Billy Blind.

I did a lot of playing around with brushes on this one, trying to figure out which ones were my favorites to color/paint with and whatnot. Also, it's a good thing procreate's timelapse function doesn't show you just how often i flip and rotate the canvas even when coloring, otherwise ya'll would be getting nauseous.

Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I try to respond to as many comments as I can, though sometimes, I just don't have the energy. The ones I do reply to are usually ones that make me laugh or have non-spoilery questions~

What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?

Daughter of Death, definitely. Though, it's sequel, Daughter of Rebirth, might be tied with it.

What's the fic you've written with the happiest ending?

Taming a Monster. Only because, other than the aforementioned Mulan fics, it's the only fic on my account that's actually finished LMAO

Do you write crossovers?

Not really. I do sometimes sneak little easter eggs into my fics, though. Like in Finding Their Place/Azying, Ned the Piemaker from Pushing Daisies is the brother to Adela. And in my PotC fic, I plan on Emil running into Edward Kenway from Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (among others).

Have you ever received hate on a fic?

Yeah. Some people didn't like that my oc for Taming a Monster was dark skinned. Not that she was half troll, but that she was dark-skinned in a Viking-Based fandom. Also got one hate comment on Of Sparrow and Drystan because someone was pissed Emil was actually a woman....But that's about it.

Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I sometimes do, but I don't post it. Because I don't need all my kinks out in the open. I'm nervous enough posting my drawn smut LOL

Have you ever had a fic stolen?

I...don't think I have. I do know someone was translating Taming a Monster into Russian, so if ever anyone ever came across that, please know it was done with permission.

Speak of the devil, I just mentioned this =D

Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Nope. My friend and I were going to try co-writing an Avengers fic a few years ago, but we never got around to it.

What's your all-time favorite ship?

We talking canon x canon? Or can we include oc x canon? Because, tbh, I don't really hardcore ship any canon x canon ships, aside from Will and Elizabeth from PotC or Kaz x Inej from Six of Crows. So maybe those? Or Bofur x Thorin. Otherwise, my favorite ships are mostly ot3s with an oc involved.

What's a WIP that you want to finish but don't think you ever will?

Daughter of Life, the final part of my Mulan series. I just got so incredibly burnt out on it that even thinking about it makes me feel like that one meme of Ben Affleck smoking.

What are your writing strengths?

People tell me it's my descriptions and keeping the characters...well, in character.

What are your writing weaknesses?

I struggle with shorter stories and that, in turn, gives me burn out. I've gotten better about writing shorter chapters over the last couple of years, though.

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

I do it sparingly, unless it's a made up language like Khuzdul. But even then, I try to keep it limited because I know there are people who actually speak neo-Khuzdul and would probably want to strangle me for the way I write it LOL

What's a fandom/ship you haven't written for yet but want to?

None, really. I just want to be able to get the gumption to work on my own stories soon LOL

What's your favorite fic you've written?

Since you say 'written', I'm assuming this means finished fics. So in this case, it'd have to be Taming a Monster. If we're talking fanfics in general, then Azying. It's got more of my headcanons and worldbuilding in it for the Hobbit than HDBN, since I allow myself more freedom to play around (and did I mention it's an everyone lives AU?)

I have a lot more (and I'm not even done) and idk how to go about posting all this so think I'll start with this introductionary region basics info lol.

If anyone would like to draw anything from the AU (or even write anything or make OC locations and characters) feel welcome too. I tried to include every Hetalia character for this, however as you will see later the most detail went into the Main 8 (plus Romano & Prussia), Nordics and Canada.

An AU isn't really fun of others can't contribute or have their own take right?

Anyway incoming eventually: A lot (that feels like and understatement) of fakemon, character profiles and location information. I'll try to space out posts so I'm not spamming. And if I go dark on the AU it's probably because I'm working on things for it or writing one of my fanfiction. I'll be cross posting on Reddit.

Emil....is finally done! This is definitely my biggest digital piece to date--not even the Sons of Durin funeral took as long, nor did it put me through this much mental agony. So much coral, man 💀

Anyway.

Here are two versions: One with light beams and one without. The crown Emil's holding is the crown of King George I, who was king during part of the time that Emil was piratin' it up.

How she got the crown, I don't know. This is Emil we're talking about, after all.

Also, I'm not sure why, but this is a lot brighter and more saturated on my ipad than it is on my computer screen, but oh well.

This took...three days? Almost three days of inking. And lots of blasting the PotC soundtracks, since they gave me the energy to complete this.

My latest form of self-torture work in progress.

Emil being the badass demi-god she is and claiming her throne beneath the sea.

Not sure if I'm going to go with my original plan of digitally lining this and then printing it out to color traditionally or if I'm just going to do it entirely digitally...since there are so many dang details. I'm also not sure if I'm going to keep it this size or if I'm going to crop it down. If I do end up cropping it down, going the traditional route would be more likely, but one of my friends says I should do it digitally and keep all the details.

What do ya'll think? Finish it digitally or do it traditionally?

Seeing a bunch of nifty Mari Lwyd art/prop making/etc stuff the past few weeks made me want to draw Emil scaring Jack with one. Because she's the daughter of the Welsh sea god, Llyr, and she's a pirate, she took some creative liberties and made hers a seahorse instead of a land-horse.

It's been my little 'i need a break' project while i did the lineart for Bair and Hakan's pic.

Drew this traditionally, then everything else is done digitally. I did the black and white version first and then slapped some color on over it~

Lookie-loo, Lone Ranger (2013)!AU for PotC~

In this AU, Jack is half Native. Teague (who I didn't draw out of laziness) is an ex-fur trader who fell for and married a Native woman and who lives with the tribe. He's mostly known as Sparrow.

Tia Dalma takes Red Harrington's place, but instead of getting her leg eaten, she just has a severely broken heart thanks to Jones. She's also Mary and Tafari's aunt in this AU, owns a brothel and a saloon, and is a mistress of the occult. The brothel name, 'Faithful Bride' is stolen from the tavern Arabella Smith's dad owns in the young Jack Sparrow book series.

Mary and Tafari work in their aunt's saloon (currently unnamed).

Cutler Beckett is a railroad tycoon and wants to purchase all the big, money-making establishments in the city to make more $$$, which is why he ends up kidnapping Mary and Tafari. With Jones' help, he plans on putting a ransom on their heads that'll force Tia Dalma's hand.

Jones runs the Flying Dutchmen gang of bandits.

Emil is the niece of the lead ranger, Drystan Crunn, who was sent to live with her uncle when her stepfather got sick of her attitude. A good portion of the town knows that she's his niece, but don't really care when he brings her up as a nephew. She's more competent that John Reid and isn't afraid to use a gun--but like the original Lone Ranger, she prefers to shoot to disarm/disable rather than shoot to kill.

Emil and Jack meet on the train, in a similar fashion that Tonto and John meet in the movie. Jack also doesn't find out she's a woman until around the point in the movie where John and Tonto managed to ambush Cavendish at the silver mine.

Jones and Beckett don't get killed; instead, Jones manages to escape and Beckett continues to secretly fund Jones' shenanigans in various attempts to get more control over the town/territory.

....I sure did write a lot of lore down despite knowing only 3 or 4 people are going to bother reading through it all 😆

So this is something I started around this time last year and promptly forgot about until yesterday. I just remember when I found this photo of Jack, I was like 'I need to draw Emil in all that empty space'.

I think I did the shading on the skin 9 or 10 times before I thought it looked good, but the shading on everything else? Easy peasy. I also didn't touch the original sketch from a year ago, because that would involve needing to change way too much stuff, so Emil looks a bit more feminine than usual in the face, but that's alright.

I know my style is nowhere near being realistic enough to fit in, but I'm still proud of this regardless.

Annnd my genderfluid gals are done as well~!

First row is my Mulan oc, Shan Zhu, in both her historical and modern fashions. She's the niece of Shan Yu and ends up with a curse that messes with her eyesight, thus the different eye colors. So you've got her in her Hunnic garb, which is stained with the blood of her enemies/victims and then there's her in her Queen/Empress garb that she gets during Daughter of Life. If you recognize the shape behind feminine Zhu, then four points for you, Glen Coco. Modern Zhu is a goth fashion model and a vampire, thus her paler, somewhat sickly skin tone. She likes her makeup and her plunging necklines (Ling and Mulan/Ping also like her plunging necklines).

Next up is Bair Storm, but not from the Potter!Verse. This one is from an urban fantasy story I want to write someday. She's half shapeshifter, half witch, and is literally genderfluid. Most of the time, she's in her feminine form, but when she's doing one of her hunting jobs, she's in her masculine form. There are times when she's not working that she bums around in her masculine form, though, because, well, sometimes she just feels like a guy. Masculine Bair might also have some heavy Aidan Turner as Mitchell vibes because...hot. In both forms, she always wears some form of gloves; being part fae, she doesn't want to burn her entire hand if she accidentally touches something iron.

Last row is Emil Drystan in both historical and modern versions. I went with her Lord Traharne (her actual last name) garb instead of Captain Drystan because...well, I draw her in her captain's garb all the time. I did lighten her face in the Lady Traharne makeup to give the effect of the white-powdered face. Dark eyebrows, strong blush, a beauty patch, and subtly tinted lips in addition to the powdered face were really the only makeup used. Lipstick was actually banned during the the early 1700s because misogyny. Modern Emil...is just comfy. She sometimes wears binders (as seen in the shirt cut meme), but for the most part, her breasts are small enough that she's not bothered by them.

And if you read all of that...congratulations! You read a text wall and proved me wrong since I'm certain no one's going to bother with it.

And it's done~! Emil, Mary, and Jack being an adorable poly pirate party on the beach.

Inspired by the covers of old romance novels and the trope of the woman having to pick between the handsome nobleman and the dashing scallawag. Only, since Emil is a pirate and a nobleman/woman, Mary gets both~! And, of course, Jack is trying to seduce both of them at the same time....and succeeding.

I tell you what, though: I am not doing another large piece like this for a while 😂😂

Mary's really the only person she feels safe breaking down around. For a variety of reasons, she almost always severely downplays it when she's feeling depressed. But even when she's with Mary, it's still hard for her to let herself open up like that.
