I want to get my thoughts out on this because I think I'm starting to really figure out what it is I dislike so much about certain parts of Homestuck. Looking at different forms of media really helped put things into perspective.

I watched a YouTube video recently about metal vs nu metal fans. A fan of nu metal claimed that metal / hard rock fans usually talk about obscure concepts, like sex or satan or war. And nu metal fans sang mostly about "this is what I'm going through, this is how I feel." I like nu metal but it does feel like it's more for teens or more like a joke. It really seems that way when compared to something like Black Sabbath or even newer bands like Jinjer. If you listen to Nu metal there is a lot of "I" "Me" maybe the occasional "In my self-righteous suicide."

There is something about nu metal that feels more immature, it's fun but there is still this childish quality to it. It's more whiny. Now, this is the pot calling the kettle black, I am the empress of whiny. I know whiny when I hear it.

You can hear the difference in tone perfectly here, "I play Russian Roulette every day, a man's sport. With a bullet called life." VS. "Day of judgement, God is calling. On their knees, the war pigs crawling. Begging mercy for their sins. Satan laughing, spreads his wings."

Listening to people talk about nu metal reminded me of how Indie fiction reads now. "This is my life, I hate my dad!" Of course, everyone puts themselves into their writing and art, that's kind of how expression works. The thing is that now characters are straight up self inserts. Everything comes off like it's a venting session, there isn't really any part of these stories that even read like a power fantasy, which is the fun part.

This also reminds me of the difference between everything we read in Acts 1-3 vs how Act 5 started to focus a bit more on drama, but it was still so fast paced that and abstract. Eridan and Feferi's relationship still felt abstract because killing people's guardians to feed a princess's mom is kind of an insane plot. It's so alien and removed from reality. That's the part that makes it entertaining.

Then the Alpha Kids come in and it's nonstop "This is how I feel. I'm confused. I'm trying to figure myself out. I'm so in love and I'm going to focus on that, oh yeah, there is an alien empress trying to use me and my friends." The story didn't have anything for the characters to do for a while too so it was nothing but looking at the characters flaws. I notice how many of the fans still in the fandom like that part about Act 6, that it's about "identity." Though I argue it isn't. Act 6 to me is more about "confusion." And the "Confusion tone" we sat through was married with the "Isolation and separation" tone the story always had. I dislike the tone Act 6 gave us. I think most everyone who checks this blog does. But, I suppose this is just how things kind of go over time.

Any art form or genre or trope will be played straight but then as the idea deviates it becomes more and more of a joke. It's somewhat like how slasher films were on the way out until scream was made as satire. And then scary movie later parodied that satire film.

I'm not saying anything novel by pointing out Homestuck has now turned into a full blown parody of itself but it's gone through maybe five cycles of this so far. I think we just experienced the tone of Homestuck 2 change again.

I'm not sure yet, but doesn't it seem different? This newer vibe the story is running with seems more "the writers are horny for the characters and hiding it behind a thin veil" and "I know we're going into battle but don't forget who my main love interest is. Man I hate how much I love Dave because everyone knows who you end up with defines you! Right, Kanaya?"

It's still an immature vibe but it also feels better than what we've had for years. I'm still not sold this is an improvement. The characters still seem so selfish, focus on their own feelings and not the world around them. Key word is focused. At least now they are fighting for something, but their enemy should have never been Jane. They can not write themselves out of this hole. SKILLED writers would have tried to get the Candy universe out of the way as quickly as they possibly could. I see no real skill here but I do see some promise. Talent and skill aren't the same thing. Creativity doesn't mean much without tactful execution.

And I'm preventively going to agree Homestuck has always been immature and childish but it was more fun when it didn't take everything so personally.

It really did stop becoming a story that has silly and/or epic moments with the characters. Developing the characters' personal issues, their dreams, and relationships are fine. But the execution of it makes them kind of insufferable. It says nothing about them as people besides being assholes. Characters like the Beta Kids, were set up to grow and become better people. That the audiences and readers themselves, will take that lesson to heart and do the same for the real world. And if they do cool or funny stuff, it will be a lot memorable not only for the character, but the scene they are in too. We only got characters acting like rude assholes or being morons and the people behind it trying to justify it. Like the bullshit reason why John Egbert didn't use his wind powers to stop the bomb blowing up his home when the first sign of someone getting hit with the Retard Stick became obvious as the writers try to justify that John was in some emotional state and his dumbfuck mistakes had to be pointed out BY OTHER CHARACTERS WITHIN THE STORY. The authors themselves don't try to correct it or apologize for what they did. They try to give crappy reasons for why things go the way they did, not wanting to admit they fucked up in the story telling department. And it happened again when Vrissy confused psiionic and psychic and HICU trying to say in a Patreon post that Vrissy was just retarded because she skipped school lessons as a reason why she made that error. I get that it's hard to admit mistakes. We are all human and too prideful. But I think guys like WhatPumpkin and now James Roach with HICU, making lots of excuses to save face. They really want to believe they are talented writers, but in actuality, they are not as great. Them denying their faults just makes them worse.

Hope and Rage: Narrative Engagement

I've talked quite a bit about Hope and Rage on this blog in the past, but I've stumbled upon something recently that I think puts a different spin on these two Aspects. I think it's quite fortunate we have a few different Classes to look at with regards to both Aspects, so I'll dive in with a quick summary of what I mean to get us started.

Hope and Rage are the Aspect pair that deals with emotions, belief, and one's range of options. However, they also represent something a bit more abstract: one's willingness to engage with a narrative. Now, this is something that applies if we're going with the interpretation that each Aspect also represents a concept in storytelling. (This is explained very well by both optimisticDuelist and Tex Talks on YouTube, both of whom you should absolutely check out if you haven't already.) What does this really mean, though? I argue that Hope represents getting sucked into a narrative and willingly embracing it, while Rage represents rejecting that narrative and actively mocking it. Hope is eulogy: Rage is satire.

In the comic, we see this most clearly in Jake, whose role as a Page of Hope pretty much dictates a strong relationship with his Aspect. He is theatrical and presents himself as someone who loves zany adventures and getting into scrums. When he speaks, he's like the unholy cross between an action film protagonist and a wealthy, antiquated gentleman. Later on in the story, we see counters to this narrative of who he is and what he truly enjoys. Jake seems to chew the scenery every time we see him, to the point of annoyance by others, and he seems to believe the spotlight is always focused on him. It's not necessarily out of pride, either, but rather his solitary lifestyle that gives him a sort of "protagonist complex," so to speak. All of this fits into what I've been describing: Jake is entrenched in his own narrative identity, built up from all the media he's consumed, and he embraces it as a way to escape from his current reality.

Heroes of Hope are empowered with the ability to affect their reality based on their own strong-held beliefs. It's the ultimate confidence in one's own abilities, taken to a ridiculous extreme. One of the most important themes of Homestuck is that each character is creating their own reality: Hope players do so in a very literal way. The stories they relate to and begin to live through start to impress themselves upon reality, and the players embrace it further. As long as their belief remains firm, this cycle continues.

We do see the very same theatrics and flamboyance in Eridan, who plays into his fantasies about killing the landdwellers. He engages with this aspect of Hope, just like Jake does. Yet, as the Prince of Hope, he also quite literally destroys the narrative set out for him when he begins his genocide of the angels on his planet. He later comes into conflict with the optimistic narrative of the other trolls, believing that their one way forward is to join Jack Noir. He then destroys the Matriorb in an attempt to tear apart the possibility of that story becoming reality. (Granted, he fails, because Life, uh, finds a way.) We also see the same traits in Cronus, though he has even stronger ties to Hope at the beginning of his own story. For much of his life, he fully believed in his own legacy, basically being Troll Harry Potter. Although he was convinced at some point to completely give up these beliefs, this was a big part of the narrative he wholeheartedly accepted. He now carries the perspective that he's "humankin," even dressing the part, and this new narrative has become what he engages with.

Now, Rage is a bit tougher to explain directly, since we don't have any Heroes of Rage who aren't a Destroyer Class, but we can still speculate based on what we know from the comic. Rage, broadly, is an Aspect that is drawn on when a character shows utter contempt for a narrative that's playing out. We see this extremely clearly when Caliborn is quite literally smashing around the terminal through which Hussie is speaking to him to explain his Quest, or his general frustrations at the idea that he must undertake a Hero's Journey, wishing to simply skip ahead to the point where he can fulfill his desire for power. We also see this during John's exploration of Homosuck, when Caliborn's unbelievably shitty storytelling and art skills lead John to express outright disgust and anger by the end.

When we look at a character like Gamzee, however, his relationship to this is a bit different. At the beginning of his story, he fully believes in the power of miracles and rejects other explanations for how everyday, mundane things happen, such as the fizz in sodas. He's absolutely indulging in a narrative as he allows the Rage in himself to melt away. As soon as the bubble bursts and Murderstuck begins, though, he stands once again on the razor's edge of his Aspect, but on the other side this time. He fully embraces his legacy of the mirthful messiahs being him (and also him) in a self-deifying way that seems to be toying with the protagonist complex of Hope, while also blaspheming his own religion in a way that echoes Rage. Gamzee begins to go off and do his own weird, bloody things. (Side note: the idea that Gamzee erupted into a fit of fury (Rage) when Dave showed him the ICP video where his religion (Hope) was being mocked (Rage) and seemed ready to start a one-man crusade (Hope) shows further how interlocked these opposites are in our resident Bard.)

I'll speak briefly on Kurloz, because I've got to keep things even, but dear lord, this is becoming quite long. Kurloz is obviously extremely faithful to the religion of his bloodline, even moreso than Gamzee at times, which leads to a humorous scene in one walkaround when Kurloz is attempting to show extreme reverence and speak in prose with Gamzee, who gets quickly fed up and cuts him off, all business. His dedication to Lord English is obvious, and he often seems to showcase more traits associated with Hope than Rage. Of course, this is intended in his role as a Prince, though his destruction of Hope is clearly seen in his ability to convince Cronus to give up his belief in his destiny to destroy Lord English.

To make a long story longer, Hope and Rage represent how one engages with their own story and the expectations placed on them by their role. Hope players embrace these wholeheartedly and seek to impress them onto reality, which rushes to meet them as their powers develop. Rage players reject and mock the reality that would box them in, laughing in the face of such audacity, and go off to do their own thing. It's a complete inverse from the Aspects' method of problem-solving, where Hope players tend toward open-mindedness and the ever-present Plan B, and Rage players limit their perspective to break through whatever obstacles dare to challenge them. Hope is Romanticism. Rage is Dadaism.

1. Ik Ik "haha how cringe are you" of me to say, but honestly? Homestuck. Homestuck helped me in a time of need and when i so desperately wanted something to latch onto. Finally, I caved into my friends telling me to read it-- and it's been a blast!! The epilogues / hs^2 make me feel kinda sad though, because so much of what I loved about the original was yeeted through the nine circles of hell and into the trash. I love Y/ffany's (I call her Yippi tho) design, the art is really pretty at times, Harry is a major dork, I LIVE for seeing Vrissy bc honestly?? Her design is 10/10, very early 2000s emo style and I also live for that. Tavros is cute and a nerd and I think that's swell!

But in terms of story and how any of this happens, it makes me sad to see it happen. If Vriska could return as Vrissy, why not OTHER beta trolls? Where's my Eridan fish man, writers?? Give me the boy or perish by my fury.

2. Also super "haha how cringe are you" but,,, murder cats (Warriors), esp the early 2005-2015 amvs and stuff. I remember watching Flightfootwarrior's "I Will Not Bow" Scourge amv for HOurs and having no clue what was happening, but all these edgy kitties were KITTIES! It's introduced me to a lot of music I still listen to to this very day (Imagine Dragons, Young/the entirety of Hollywood Undead, Breaking Benjamin). And yknow what?? This new arc is absolute chaos, but in the good way.

I'm an "OG Fan". I prefer the first arc, The Prophecies Begin, to almost any of the other arcs. I just could never get into the other arcs-- not to say I haven't read them, I HAVE and the Fire Scene was probably one of my favorite moments beside grumpy Jaypaw, god complex Lionblaze, and fear the gods Hollypaw. I thought the build-up for it was SUPER satisfying. Gray Wing is my baby and I fully embellish in the Gray Wing is Silverpelt theory.

This new arc is definitely something new for the universe. While I didn't read aVoS (but I may do that if i can find the files for it), and so I don't know the major events of it other than what I've seen M.A.P.'s (Multi-Animator Projects, for clarification,,, bc unfortunately that term is also something disgusting). There's fucking cat possession and all the Clans questioning their belief system, yo. Shit be on fire.

Also the Imposter is 100% Ashfur, that's canon now, yeah??? Also im sorry but fuck Root x Bristle that's the dumbest shit I have ever seen. Give me Root x Shadow or face the wrath of my dragon plushies.

3. As much as I hate the author,,,,, Harry Potter. It's been a major part of my life for as long as I can remember. I can never really remember why, but I've always just loved it- the movies, the books, the extra little merch that would pop up in my local Walmart. Of course my favorite character is Draco Malfoy. I could go on and on and ON about how I think his character arc was SHIT and JKR didn't have the balls to make him a confident gay man that was always implied through the text (at least, my lesbian ass thought it was implied but i may just be projecting, idk). I could ramble about Draco for HOURS and what I think his character SHOULD have been and how his parents are horrible (more specifically, Lucius bc Narcissa [?] Actually showed a few good moments), and a child should never have to pay for their parents sins.

Oh noo, Draco's a villain because he's a victim of major abuse and peer pressure? He's a villain because a literal child can be horrible and they'll always always always stay as a horrible little fiend?? Fuck that. He's a child.

Unlike manchild grease pan Snape, who was a racist piece of shit and shouldn't have became a fucking school teacher but it's okay because he was ~~~in love~~~. No, fuck you, he was a creep. James Potter n Co may have been a little posh bitch to you, Snape, but that's no fucking excuse to continue to bluntly be a little cunt all the way into adulthood. You're an adult who flatly changed your PATRONUS to imitate Lily's. You have no excuse. And Harry went and named his child after you LIKE JESUS CHRIST, DID RON'S SISTER NOT HAVE A SAY IN THE NAMES TOO?????

I also fully adore the idea that Muggles can run into Hogwarts and their patronus can 100% be a made up, fantasy creature. Imagine you learn the patronus spell and suddenly fucking ARCEUS comes from your wand. Imagine learning the spell and CHTULU (i did not spell that right but im so tired) comes from your wand-- an entire ass fucking Lovecraftian, Eldrith horror is just the embodiment of you. What if it was a fucking Homestuck character like Vriska? How fucking METAL would that be?? Hskajssowjjsjs get on it fandom.

4. Hee hee very evident by my url but Pokemon is another major thing of mine. While vespiquen isn't my favorite (that title goes to Hydreigon), it is definitely up there!

I've ALWAYS enjoyed the idea of Pokemon. You run around, training up these fight monsters and collecting them. I remember playing my sister's Ruby version on her flip-up Gameboy. I couldn't even read but I ran around catching god only knows how many of the same pokemon wherever she was. Apparently, I had fought for hours in the same area and leveled her Blaziken up to lvl 50 something and left her lvl 30s in the dust LMAO.

I got my first game when it was Pearl/Diamond. It was Pearl, and it still holds a very fond place in my heart. I could barely read, I could barely write-- I had named my Turtwig something along the lines of "MmorpHy" and my player boy "ZbsibJ". Yes I remember the names slightly. I really didn't get far-- I barely got to the first gym but I was just so happy to play it.

I eventually lost the game, as a 5 year old would do, but I can still vividly remember what was happening when the game arrived. I had just came back from the dentist and was quite tired from fighting the dentist bc I was super scared. Mom suddenly handed me a box and said it was mine-- my overseas (at that time) dad had bought me Pearl and my sister Diamond, because I lost my shit about it when he visited one time.

Well, tdlr, I played it for about five minutes while struggling to stay awake against the loopy gas they made me take. I fell asleep listening to Twinleaf Town's soundtrack. Every time I play a rom of Pearl and I get to where the player's house fades in and I hear that first tune of the song, I get a huge smile on my face and cry-- as.. Weird as it sounds.

A few years later, I had gotten Pokemon Black bc I liked Reshiram on the cover. Now, this one I could actually READ when playing, but I don't remember a lot of things about it. I probably lost this one too, as a 8/9 year old would do. I DO remember, I chose Snivy and my sister chose Tepig (hrmm there's a theme here of grass/fire goin on......) and vibing to the music. I was so amazed by the sprites moving, I just kept getting into encounters to see the sprites move (oh boy, no one tell younger 7-9 y/o me about Zelda......oh wait....)

Playing Pokemon NOW, as a 17 year old """gifted""" chick, I stil have very fond memories. I recently beat Pokemon Black again and GOD the OTS SLAPS. I fucking adore the soundtrack-- the track that plays when you battle a trainer, the low health dings being turned into a legit song that also slaps, the battle! gym leader themes-- and oh my gOd, the legendary theme is amazing? It really tells you just how glorious these pokemon are supposed to be. It's not intimidating like Groudon/Kyroge/Rayquaza's themes. It's not action packed like Palkia/Dialga's is, it's not filled with tension like Giratina/Arceus's is-- but it radiates the GLORY that the beasts portray. And I live for that. (Also, Kyurem's version is my favorite because it glitches in the beginning and that's rly cool)

P/D/P and BW/BW2's stories, imo, are some of the greatest ones. Yeahhh, US/USUM's is cool and I haven't played XY nor SwSh-- but the ones I can find memorable are PDP and BW/BW2. I love N. I love Barry. They're my sons. Ghetsis is fucking terrifying, Cyrus needs a hug. Giratina scared the piss out of me when I was younger, which was NOT helped by Giratina and The Sky Warrior.

I think my favorite movies are the gen 4 ones. The Rise of Darkrai having a tear-jerking theme for such a mysterious pokemon (i still tear up when i hear Ocarion), Giratina being spiteful is a mood and Shaymin was cute, Arceus being angry is also a mood. Yeah, Pokemon 4Ever made me cry my eyes out over Celebi, Mewtwo Returns made me again cry because Mewtwo accepting who he is, I remember how vastly different the BW movies are-

I just. I have a lot of memories with the series, even if Gamefreak and Nintendo kinda do the series dirty a lot (your top-grossing thing and you made That monstrosity for the Switch? How dare you.). It's comforting to be stressed and pull up my roms for the games and to play them. Mystery Dungeon is incredibly fun to play, Pokemon Ranger is really fun with the concept (Shadows of Almia continues to kick my ass to this very day and FUCK the Jungle Relic, I hate the Water Challenge fucking gyarados bullshit). I remember the pokemon I got for MD (I got Time, my sis got Darkness) was Mudkip, if that is any help.

I love my little fictional pixel monsters.

5. Yup, someone told tiny 7-9 y/o me about console games. The legend of Zelda. My first Zelda game was Twilight Princess on the Wii and BOY did I play the fucking SHIT out of that game.

Honestly, looking back and looking at playthroughs now-- I still love TP. Twilight Princess is still one of my top favorite Zelda games-- yes, even after playing OoT, Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, Skyward Sword, the anniversary four swords edition for the DS where you could play by yourself (Nintendo pls bring that back, I don't have friends to play it with ;-;), Phantom Hourglass- ect.

Something about Twilight Princess grabbed me by the head and yeeted me into the world. I can remember playing it for hours with little to no breaks. I, a tiny 9 y/o, had gotten the hang of the controllers and managed to get past the tutorial quite easily. And then, I was launched into the game and I wasn't stopping for NOTHING. Mom and Dad would have to force me to save and get off to go and eat dinner. THAT sucked.

I had done everything on my own up until the first temple, the forest temple. Not where/when you saved the dumb kid, but when you were saving the spirit's light. Theeeeeeennn I got stuck on the fucking Forest Temple for deadass six months straight. I'd play for hours, running around in circles, unable to figure out where to go, and because I didn't grasp the temple's purpose of being that way- I'd get angry and get off. It wasn't until dad looked up a walkthrough and talked me through what I was supposed to do that I learned how to get through temples.

I had gotten to the last little fight with Ganondorf before the Wii broke and i could no longer play. Despite the Wii being broke and we got rid of it, I was ADAMANT on keeping the game, and I kept that game for YEARS. It was an original copy out of a sealed box, and I eventually lost it when I left it accidentally at my now ex-friend's house.

She had a Wii and I went "hey I have a Wii game!" And I brought my Zelda over. Worst fucking choice of my goddamn life. Mom called me to come home and said I couldn't sleep over like the original plan was, and that was it. My ex-friend stashed my Zelda and I never saw it again. And, even if I wanted to-- I couldn't get it back, which makes me upset. We had a BAD falling out. She likely doesn't even remember it's there, or sold it to the local game junkie kid who buys ALL games.

But I still love the game. Midna was amazing, and I loved how snarky she was and she has a very cute design! The game's OST is fucking phenomenal. Midna's Desperate Hour makes me cry bc goddamn it really sells how serious that situation is. I love Hyrule Field's theme in this game. I love the Twilight Realm's song. Zant was fucking hilariously scary. Ganondorf's design in this game scared the piss out of me when I was younger.

Midna and this game's Link and Zelda are def my favorites. Yeah yeah, Sheik is cool and all I Guess but dhsushwishs Midna holds the special place in my heart. She was totally my gay awakening BUT

For other game antagonists, I adore Ghirahim-- let's go you funky little queer-coded villain. Skull Kid was great, I love the entire dynamic of him. Prankster lost soul stumbles upon Majora's Mask and the mask makes him act out due to powers-- which, I actually took very heavy inspiration from for one of my OCs. The moon falling to Hyrule was a fucking terrifying looming threat.

But the game series holds a place, and I've yet to be able to play BoTW-- although, I'm fairly certain I'll like it. The playthroughs I've watched of it are all fairly decent! I just. Gotta save up enough money to buy it haha.

Dang guess I gotta go watch a Twilight Princess playthrough again.

Hi guys. So you would think the silence was me working on projects, and I wanted it to be, but my brain decided the only thing I could make that didn’t turn out horribly right now are Homestuck/Halternian My Little Ponies. So, um, Enjoy if it’s your thing. If not, that’s okay.

I made those who had magical abilities unicorns, and sea dwellers pegasus. (I know I could have done Sea Ponies, but I feel Pegasus fit better, especially as they actually can leave the ocean, and a lot of the Alternian sea creatures seem to have the ability to fly. Since being a sea dweller is a pure bonus it seemed a good choice.) Fef is the exception, as she doesn’t have psychic abilities but she IS a princess, so she get’s to be an Alicorn. (Though I imagine all would become so either upon arrival on prospit and thereby becoming royalty, or on achieving god tier.)

I’m gonna try to do the whole read more under the break thing I should have learned how to do long ago, and I apologize for all my long posts. Individual versions of each one below the cut!

Aradia’s cutie mark was my attempt at making a horse ghost! I don’t know how well it came out. Her body color is her blood color. I was going to give her the main the color of her god tier hood, but was advised to go with black instead and I do think it looks much better. A ghost seemed the right cutie mark because she really is Death’s fangirl, and seems to enjoy tending to the dead... as well as old things and adventure, which I think it could touch on too!

Tavros gave me the hardest time. His main and tail color are borrowed from his Pupa Pan outfit and his eyes are colored based on his God Tier outfit. I played around with a lot of colors trying to find the right one! I was originally thinking of making him a Pegasus with broken wings but I think this meshes best wtih the rest. His cutie mark of course represents his bond with and love for animals, but because Tinkerbull is a fairy bull it also touches on his love of fairies and fantasy.

For the most part, I reserved 2+ toned manes/tails for high bloods, because I noticed a lot of the MLP that had them seemed to be either well off themselves, or related to someone who was. The exception to this was Sollux because of course it was.

His cutie mark is one of his server hives, with a blue and red wire to evoke his sign. Also a be on either end because bees and also duality.

I don’t feel I need to explain my color choices, other then I made his skin slightly lighter than his blood because it looked better. (Also I was considering doing some black and white stuff but I’m happy with the red/blue.

Nepeta’s cutie mark was a bit of a challenge, as well as figuring out what to focus on. Shipping could also have worked out, but I feel like the paw with claws out captured her identification with cats, her place as a warrior and huntress, as well as her imagination and love of roleplay. I did try to add some paint splatter, like the paw had been painting, but then I was worried it would be evocative of blood and that wasn’t quite what I was going for.

Her skin color is based on blood color, mane and tail the color of her hat and tail. (This also connects her to Equius a bit more!)

Karkat is just grey and black with candy red eyes. I felt it suited him. He’s not really the ostentatious type.

His cutie mark represents his passion for romance, as well as his strength in advising on romantic relationships (something he’s actually quite good at) as WELL as his persuit/desire for a pan-quadrant relationship. I’m sure he’d have spent a long time trying to get a symbol to represent being a badass leader or warrior, but his biggest strength really is how deeply he cares for his friends and his best skill really is in supporting them sincerely rather than trying to boss them around.

Kanaya I also was unsure of for a bit. For her cutie mark, I was debating between the Matriorb and the Lipstick. The latter could represent fashion, feminity, and killing things with the chainsaw said lipstick turned into. (Also, lipstick lesbian, more subtly.) But the matriorb represents the role she’s chosen and accepted for herself from the beginning of the comic until the end, as a mother to her entire race. It’s pretty badass and definitely worthy of being her cutie mark!

Her hair and mane are blood color, as well as eyes, and I gave her white skin to reference the rainbow drinker glow. She’s also one of only a few ponies who are wearing decorative clothing.

Terezi is another one who’s cutie mark one could definitely make arguemetns over. After all, a scale, or noose, might be considered appropriate.

But I feel like her justice fangirling wasn’t really who she is in the same way. The chalk represents her creativity, her weirdness. It represents the tool she uses to play, but also to change the destiny of an entire reality. It’s a tool of writing and creating and play and I just think it fits really well and is more her than justicy ones, which is why I chose it.

Her body is her blood color, and her mane and tail are her favorite color/the color of her shoes/various accessories.)

Vriska was actually the first pony who got finished! I sort of did her ees weird and because how I did them weird it was hard to change later. Oh well. Her mane and tail are based on her blood color, her body is based on her typing color.

Her cutie mark represents several things! Her love of roleplay and games, gambling, chance and luck, and of course, winning! (Plus, yknow, 8.) All things that I felt were really suitable.

Equius’s cutie mark is a wrench with weights on it, because I couldn’t decide between robos and STRONGNESS and just decided why not both.

His mane and tail are his typing color, and his skin was pulled from a sprite of him god tier with wings. (Not sure if official or fan made honestly, but the color works well!)

Gamzee I’m really happy with! His mane and tail are the color of his blood and the color of sopor slime mixed together. His eyes similarly are a mix of his normal color and the red they turn in a rage. I don’t remember where his body color came from :x

I was tempted to give him a club for a cutie mark, and I still think that could work. I sort of have a mental theme of giving the destruction classes weapons. But I feel the smilies are their own reference to it. The :o) smily is the color of sopor slime, and the )o: face is the color of his blood. Both are on a rounded splotchy backdrop the color he types in, that also sort of nods at his pants. It helps represent his duality, his enjoyment of just being chill and a clown and making people laugh on one hand, but also the psychotic destructive force laying in wait just benieth that on the other.

Eridan is one of the fanciest dressed ponies, of course. I wanted him to have multicolored hair, but I didn’t want his hair color and body color to match. So instead, I took the brighter purple of one of his rings and used that for his body. His eyes are based on the color of his scarf and pants, because I didn’t want everyone to have yellow eyes. (And the hope outfit is still yellow!)

His cutie mark as Ahab’s Crosshair’s isn’t just a representation of his skills as a marksman, but also of his nature as a force of destruction. It’s a gun often turned against himself as well as everyone around him.

Princess Feferi! I think she came out best of everyone. :)

Her cutie mark is a squiddle glubbing out dream bubbles, to represent her love of cute cuddly squids as well as her role in helping create a magical dreamland for ghosts and dreaming mortals to meet and play and talk to eachother... as well as herself being happy and cute and glubbing! What a good girl. :3

Her eyes and glasses are her blood color. Her mane and tail are the color of her skirt. Her body is also based on the shade of pink from her skirt because I felt it worked better for her design. Like Eridan she’s got some fancy gear, in this case, jewelry! Alright, I’m tired AF so I’m posting this now. I wanted to explain some of my choices in more detail but I’m too tired. It really depends. I’ll only rp smut under certain conditions like our muses having a good connection, having a good connection with the mun (cause i tend to get insecure quickly and have questions to ask), and setting it up ahead of time. Just being pushed into a situation where smut happens without talking to me first will make me uncomfy fast.

I love angst. I also tend to angst with the same couple of people cause they know when to quit and where to draw the line. Other people can take a harmless plot meant to only be between a few people and blow it up into a fullblown multi verse war without caring how it effects the mun. I try to stick close to canon as I can get with au muses. Even if they’re not exactly canon I keep a bunch personality and habit and hobby things from them to keep them similar. When I start on a muse I haven’t rped yet or in a while, I’ll reread whatever it’s in. When I was making Leo, I reread all of Pandora hearts. When I first made dirk, I reread all of homestuck so I could stay close.

Cause I became interested in the au through someone else. I was extremely intimidated to talk to anyone in the au though. It was a good choice tbh. The people now currently in the au are good people and good friends of mine. They’re good caring people and better than some of the people I’ve met on tumblr.

  ((Well, that whole December/January shtick went so well.  Hope ya caught my sarcasm, because I’m mad at myself.  The inability to complete plot threads was mostly due to end of year depression/anxiety, school being a bitch, and the fact that neither of us (Technomun who is simultaneously Grimmun, and Cathartimun) can get our shit together. 

  ((This post is just playing catch up with all of the shit that happened out of tumblr over the course of the last two months.  So a lot of stuff has happened, that’ll be under the cut.))

  ((Alright, let’s get this started.

-The Birthday Weekend

  That went.  Fairly alright, all things considered since it involved several parties that hate each other.  Eridan was an ass the entire time (no big surprise here), and harassed the shit out of Vriska.  Terezi was an obnoxious brat through and through, Karkat cried a lot, Vriska got drunk to avoid her feelings...so nothing new among the trolls.  Well, other than the fact the Destiny Islands crew and the Radiant Garden crew got to meet up again.  Eridan, an ass as usual, tormented Vriska whilst invisible until he got caught.  This is why she drinks.

  Dave had to be mostly tipsy through the whole thing, and practically leashed to Karkat to avoid him killing Dirk, and later got REALLY drunk...Dirk got horribly drunk on only a few drinks, and kept going between sober and smashed through the weekend.  Those two still aren’t on good terms, but on...better?  Dave can at least (slightly) stand being in the same room with him.  Roxy’s tired.  Grim got drunk...Terezi was hitting on everybody (except the trolls).  Jade was one of the two people who remained totally sober (the other being Eridan), and declared the couch the Sane Zone, for anyone who was sober or could handle being drunk (translates to her, Eridan, Roxy, and Grim).  Anyone who succumbed to intoxication was promptly, and literally kicked off of the couch and onto their ass.  This happened to Karkat at some point.  This allowed her to be on...eh, better terms with Eridan.  They got to talk shit over, and now they’re not at each others throats most of the time and can agree on a few things.  Not great friends, but not openly shit talking each other.

  It was the last day of the weekend - Roxy and Grim’s birthday - that they actually distributed presents.  Here’s the list that we made to keep shit straight because there’s so fucking much.

-Christmas Weekend

  This time, they spent Christmas weekend at the Radiant Garden castle.  Which was an adventure, since they not only had to leave Jackie behind (like they were bringing a Deathclaw to a place like that), but also had to deal with Eridan’s dogs, Pronauma and Terancor (note: they’re massive, not adults yet, and will be about the size of Polar Bear Dogs from ATLOK), and the looming threat of being thrown into the dungeon with Dragon Mom.  

  More drinking, more antics...Dirk had to be dragged out of his room more often than not.  Nothing MAJOR happened (other than Jade embarrassingly mentioning something about her and Karkat, causing Roxy and Grim to scream), but it was certainly something.

  Too many people.  Eridan got his girlfriend, Aradia, a new necklace he made, but he gave that to her later on to avoid Vriska’s prying eye.

-New Years

  I can skip a lot of shit with this one because we wrapped that up recently.  New Years was just a few people getting drunk, Jade and Dirk getting into it and resolving shit, and then setting out on a quest to find her siblings, Jake and Jane.

  What’s more interesting is the month that followed, as they proceeded to search worlds she had coordinates to to see if his soul string ability reacted, via her workshop door.  They nearly got killed a few times by some of the worlds’ fauna, nearly lost Dirk to some of the worlds, and Jade managed to scoop Dirk’s fake eyes out from his skull, and replace them with better prosthetics.  Roxy caught them because Dirk’s medical bot, HAL, showed up to the workshop when he felt Dirk go under, and have some nerves severed.  Roxy knows about the eyes now (and got a ton of new prosthetic arms, and a better anchor for them), but doesn’t know about their project.

  Like I said, a lot of shit went down.  This is just a summary of all we talked about when I was dealing with finals, and we were both dealing with the weird funk of the holidays, and coming of the end (of the year).  Finally able to write again, so here ya go.

  Let’s see if they can actually get shit moving again.))
