If you were really in each fandom, which character would you date/marry? Who are you most compatible with?

This is such a fun question, okay, let’s see...

Naruto = IRUKA <3 Iruka very much fits my type physically, and he has a compatible personality to me I think. I like how kind he is, how dedicated he is. Generally, I relate more to workaholic types because I can get frustrated with people that appear to have little to no drive to work or achieve. He’s an excellent mediator but he can also stand up for himself, even against the Hokage. He doesn’t care who you are, if your mission report is shit, he’s going to let you know, and I respect that. Also, in Boruto (which is shit but bear with me) he doesn’t have any children, and I’m childfree, so we would be compatible there too which is important. He’s my one true love <3

Obey Me!= Mammon! Definitely! Again, he’s stunning physically, but he’s also very gentle and caring. He loves physical affection and spending time with the MC in various shenanigans. I adore how much he cares for all his brothers, and as someone who has a younger brother who I adore, I absolutely understand. The only downsides would be that I can get stressed with people who are too clingy, which Mammon absolutely is, and that his spending habits would freak me out. I’m of the opinion that gambling is pretty evil and I don’t like it anywhere near me, so those parts wouldn’t be so good.

BNHA = Hmm, I’m going to say Shinsou actually. As much as I love so many of the characters as characters, I can see them getting on my nerves if they were real, but not Shinsou I don’t think. He’s dedicated and a hard worker which I admire. Ambition is the sexiest thing of all, in my opinion. He’s also a fairly isolated person, which many of my friends are to an extent. I find those people to be the hardest to befriend but the most rewarding relationships. I think he would be very, very loyal, and I would list that in top 3 most important qualities I look for in a partner.

Saiki K = Kaidou, my baby <3 I think that once he got over his hero complex just a little, we would be very compatible. He’s very physically attractive I think, and I love writing and making stories just like him. I appreciate how much effort he puts into studying at school, which is nice because I used to be confused by people who didn’t study hard when I was at school. Also, I think his mum would like me a lot. I got a successful offer from Cambridge university just like Kuusuke after all. I started planning out university applications when I was eleven lol. Although Kaidou’s gullible nature might get on my nerves, I think I would be able to help him grow a bit more of a spine, or at the very least, say no to things on his behalf because I’m a very upfront person, which I think he needs in a partner.

Black Butler = None, haha, I would be running very far in the opposite direction from them all.

OHSHC = I’m probably the most compatible personality wise to Haruhi honestly, but I’m not really attracted to women, so, rip I guess? Kyoya is more my type physically, but his manipulative and control freak tendencies would clash with my need to be in charge and in control of everything. So, Kyoya’s physical body with Haruhi’s personality.

Death Note = I’d be running far away haha, but if I had to pick, probably Matsuda, but I don’t know a great deal about him. Physically, he’s my type and he seems very kind and sweet, so we’d probably work okay, but he’s a little too overly traditional to fall for someone like me I think. He’s cute, but if he said he expected me to quit my job after getting married and raise his kids, I’d punch him in the throat.

Are you in the One Piece Fandom? Wait what fandoms are you in? Overlord?? Akatsuki No Yona?? (THAT ONE IS A GREAT READ AND WATCH TBH—its so underappreciated!!) Undertale?? (Throws hands up)

Uhhhhhhhhh depends on your definition of “in”. If by “in” you mean “have consumed the canon content enough to know what’s up” then I am in a lot less fandoms than you’d think. If you mean “have absorbed enough of the canon and fanon via osmosis to kinda get the gist and enjoy the fanfic while ignoring the actual source material” then I’m in … enough fandoms I literally can’t remember them all off the top of my head but here’s a list of what I can think of rn:

Transformers (Animated, Prime-verse, Bay-verse, SORTA G1 but only for like- two fanfics and a couple one-shots)

Final Fantasy XV (obviously)

Final Fantasy 7 (this is one of those osmosis ones, the only canon content I have actually owned is the Advent Children movie. Have watched Crisis Core walkthroughs tho)

How to Train Your Dragon (movies only)

My Hero Academia (manga, anime, and vigilantes but I’m not up to date so no spoilers pls)

Katekyo Hitman Reborn (osmosis that led to watching some of the show. The fanfics are better. Hands down. Still glad the show exists tho, otherwise the fanfic would not.)

Harry Potter (solely via crossovers, I don’t tend to enjoy straight HP fanfic, but yeeting Harry into fandoms I do know is funny)

Naruto (I have watched exactly three eps of the original and up to the Diedara mocking Naruto with Gaara’s body in Shippuuden. Everything else is pure fandom Osmosis.)

Boruto (counting this as a separate thing because Naruto fans tend to be mean over the show (????). Which is a shame cause I adore it. Ninja school/youth slice of life with end of the world drama thrown in for flavor? Heck yeah. Also Mitsuki is My Bby Boi™ and I will hear no dissent)

Akatsuki No Yona (anime, slowly collecting the manga, it is The Best™)

One Piece (pure fandom osmosis. Have watched maybe the earliest eps before I got a headache from the animation/voice acting, after that I quit and live in fanfic only)

Undertale (have never played the game, no desire to, have absorbed plot through wiki entries and fanfic osmosis. Mostly I just adore the concept of a character who knows about save points and uses them for good or evil, as well as the whole “different runs” thing and the potential Angst and Hurt/Comfort having a Frisk with multiple runs under their belt could bring. Also Papyrus and Sans are the cutest things and I love them even though I hate skeleton characters as a general rule).

Sword Art Online (this is the anime that got me into fantasy anime. Period. My Fairy Tail fanfic would not exist without this anime making me interested in non-Case Closed and Detective School Q anime. SAO Progressive Light Novels are *chef’s kiss*.)

Log Horizon (anime is fun. I like the more political/economic take that makes it so different from SAO. Also the potential Shenanigans between Adventurers and Landers and the Lander POV potential is cool).

Star Wars (I have watched all the movies at least once barring Rise of Skywalker so no spoilers, am working through older Clone Wars seasons and gleefully have enjoyed Rebels and several of the games. I do NOT write for this fandom as a general rule because I have no desire to get involved in the flame wars, especially since the original trilogy was not my entry point? So I actually really enjoy a lot of the characters and shows outside the original trilogy and apparently my ability to like content that isn’t *raises imaginary holy grail* “the OG trilogy” is a crime against Star Wars and nature and possibly humanity. Let me enjoy my blind jedi and his crew of misfit pseudo-kids you puritans. Also Rey.)

Fairy Tail (anime, have yet to watch the last season, love this show with all my heart).

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood (have yet to watch more than a few eps on the show, for all its on my reading list, so most of what I know is fanfic osmosis).

Fruits Basket (I … actually have not read fanfic of this? But I adore the books with all my heart and am so stoked to see the remade anime).

Case Closed/Magic Kaito (anime and fanfic. Treating these as the same since they’re in the same universe and spot of timeline, just have different MCs and premises).

Detective School Q (My first anime! Thank you youtube for the collection of pirated anime eps I got to binge before they all got deleted. As far as I am aware, there is no fandom still living for this show, which is a shame because it was good).

Rurouni Kenshin (the original anime! Never got past the arc with the burned villain but I still enjoyed it up to that point. No idea what the arcs after it are like. Don’t really care.)

Hobbit/LOTR (read the Hobbit, have watched all the movies. AU fanfics ftw.)

Bleach (this … is pure fanfic osmosis. I blame @wolfsrainrules @north-peach and @akaluan they got me curious. Still a little iffy on the show itself but like- I enjoy the fanfic. I’m a sucker Akaluan’s Dragon Eclipse fanfic especially.)

Princess Tutu (haven’t been in the fandom in forever? But I have a few fav fics and the show is *chef’s kiss*).

Voltron: Legendary Defender (started with the fanfics out of accident and curiosity, then hopped over to the show because the crossover potential it had with TF got me interested. Am currently in the second season so pls no spoilers).

Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes (show, fanfic, I enjoy crossovers. Someone did the world’s most epic TF:P crossover with this show and I have loved it ever since.)

MCU (osmosis that led to watching the movies. I think I liked all of the ones I watched barring Guardians of the Galaxy and Antman. Tellingly, I have made a point not to watch Endgame, Infinity War, GoG 2 or Antman 2. I can tell that the first two are just- no. I haven’t seen a fandom go up in fire that fast in years I have no desire to experience WHY.)

Edit: AVATAR. Why did I forget Avatar: The Last Airbender? hgdhgf. Anyway I like both A:TLA and Korra.

Uhhhh that’s all I can think of atm. I’m definitely missing some but yeah. Brief rundown of fandoms I am able to at least hold a basic conversation about and a brief bio of how/why I know them.

It's That Paradigm Shift,

You know the phrase, 'No future set in stone, unless it's put directly into the stone by the PTB'? Yeah, that's the one. Okay, so when in a canon some big, decisive moment happens, you know that it will likely become a fixture point in any time travel flavoured story; yes. Where the heck am I going with this, you may ask, well.. I'm going on a wee bit of a tangent about one of my favourite Time Travel Tropes.

The Peggy Sue Fic.

Yes, that certain time travel fic (henceforth referred to in this post as TTF) wherein a character goes back in time to do something, avoid something, avoid someone, et cetera, et cetera.

There is one thing about this flavour of TTF I wanna talk specifics: the shenanigans when more than one person is peggy-sue'd and they're all making changes, independently, because they think they're the only one back, and it's great, I love it.

To be honest, I've really only seen 3 of this version. Two were from Naruto - one is Lucillia's 'Time Mix Up' on FF.net, and I cannot recall for the life of me what the other one was, but Team 7 looped back, at different points in their childhoods (and for Kakashi, his adulthood), and whenever one looped back, it was an escalated shift, but it was a humourous fic; the KHR one is Soulless Sky and it's by SeventhAssassin, and that one is amazing too.

I really want to write something like that, lemme share my thought process:

There are a few ways this could go; what fandom it will be for is a weighty factor, in this case, hello again Naruto.

So it's one of those ones. Yep.

....

Let's say, when those things happen, that seem to shake the very earth below, and toss the heavens asunder, the world pivots, the future shifts and anything could happen.

When Neji dies during the Fourth Great Shinobi War against the psychotic god-matriarch of the Ootsutsuki clan, the world shifts.

When he opens his eyes again, he is young, a child and his father still lives. He discovers this when he wakes that fateful night in a cold sweat, a startled scream loosing itself from his larynx and his sleep-clumsy father bursts in, Byakugan ablaze and worry plastered across his face. He barely notices the tears streaming down his face as he launches himself into his father's arms, praying to the Heavens above that this wasn't some cruel nightmare or purgatory.

When Shino dies, he dies protecting his students from the vengeful clansmen of the mad-dog goddess Kaguya.

His students are but young, and have lives to live. And he'll be damned if he doesn't protect the future, it's what fallen comerades did for him as a child, as a young person. He had seen the ruthlessness that Kaguya wantonly and callously displayed, had been on the receiving end of the Juubi's attacks. As he was once shielded by a mentor in the face of overwhelming adversaries, so he would do so for his kids.

When Shino woke again, he expected pain. Not the visceral fear of the lucid, clinging fear of night terrors. His hive was as agitated as he was, and had spread fear-pheramones as he returned to consciousness. His parents both burst into his room, kikai humming and swarming around them, searching for the threat to their precious son's wellbeing.

....

I assume too, that the eponymous ninja returned as well, maybe from an alt. timeline to canon + boruto. IDK yet, haven't decided.

*While I have a few ships I like for my Muse, I will not impose anything to anyone plus Hakudoshi is a villain character, who hardly expresses positive emotions, let alone amorous emotions. That being said ships with him are not totally impossible, we just have to discuss it if we both agree on the idea! I accept ships within the IY world or even with Crossovers/AUs.
