Hesh:

💩

Hesh is unreasonably critical of others and has a narcissistic view of the world. He cares for his needs only and views mudokon culture as trivial and outdated. As long as he stands to benefit from doing so, Hesh will gladly regurgitate and enforce the propaganda and rhetoric of his Glukkon superiors. He idolizes Vykkers for their prowess in the medicinal field and stands beside Interns in harboring deep resentment for the other races including his own. As a devout nihilist, he strongly believes his species is doomed to extinction and the only way further is to put one's individual needs over the collective. The mudokon’s trust in their sacred “prophet” has always seemed ludicrous to him and should such a mudokon come to be they are destined to fail.

Having no interest in fitting in with the average worker to begin with, Hesh truly does not care what his species thinks of him. They may hate him or they may love him, they’re all pawns in the end whom he believes are dull witted, poor in hygiene, and unfit to judge him in any way shape or form. He is the best damn mudokon who ever lived despite what the others say.

As far as everyone else is concerned, Hesh is a living stain on the Mudokon race. Not only is he morally abhorrent, but with his wilting feathers, bloodied eyes, and greyed skin he closely resembles a Glukkon halfbreed. As a symbol of his status above the others Hesh constantly smells of burnt sigars and often dresses in the shabby industrial flannel and suspenders of a lowly pud. Having not been designed for his species, these clothes make him look ridiculous contrary to what he may believe when he preens himself in the mirror every morning. Finally, Hesh is a walking hypocrite when it comes to much of his rhetoric. He expects hard work, loyalty, and bravery out of his employees yett possesses no such qualities himself.

Hesh considered himself an industrialist and a realist. He enjoys reading up on current scientific and industrial advancements and particularly likes listening to opera while he does so. He considers Vykkers and Interns well studied and likes to be in their company. While he avidly enjoys economic and political discourse he will only debate these concepts around those who already share his same views. If a lowly mudokon worker challenges him, even if they possess the most sound argument, he will ignore them completely.

Lil:

Fiery and energetic by nature, Lil is very vocal about her beliefs and somewhat hyperactive. She’s empathetic to her fellow worker yet not always sympathetic to their stances. Lil can be overly judgemental assigning labels and categories to those who might not deserve such scrutiny. Mudokons who hesitate in the heat of conflict, compromise with the enemy, or remain submissive to harmful rhetoric are pathetic in her eyes and she will make this known. Regardless of the odds stacked against them, now is the time for revolution against Glukons, Vykkers, Interns, and all others who oppress her species in any form.

Lil respects shamans such as Big Face but has wavering belief in the Mudokon prophet’s capabilities. She wants to preserve what little of the old traditions remain while recovering what was lost. This in turn factors into her hatred of Glukkons, and if Lil had it her way she would actively put them through the same torment they inflicted upon her race.

As a somewhat intuitive anarchist, Lil is always up to trouble and constantly breaking things. She’s wreckless in her approach and prefers not to overthink things. She can easily get on the nerves of her fellow workers and more often than not is used as a scapegoat for their antics. This is of course only done as a last resort. Lil is hotheaded and stubborn, she has no problem finding those who crossed her and making them pay.

Lil loves mudokon culture and avidly enjoys learning about the varied customs of Mudokon tribes. Although she used to hate her unusual coloration, through the study of her species culture, she now loves this about herself. She is particularly fascinated with collecting mudokon artwork and enjoys learning new cooking recipes. As an empath she likes to surround herself with other upbeat individuals and tends to get along easily with others. Singing is a form of therapy and self expression for her, she loves teaching others to sing as well. Lil is social and competitive by nature, she loves playing board games and hosting community events. She’s a natural with children and enjoys teaching them new things about the world. Being surrounded by other mudokons shrouded in a peaceful forest far away from industry is all she could ever ask for.

Raaf:

Soft hearted and reserved by nature, Raaf is virtually always opposed to loud noise and raucous behavior. That aside, He’s relatively sympathetic to everyone around him and has a tough time being judgemental. He adamantly believes most, including Vykkers, Interns, and Sligs are wicked as a byproduct of a corrupt culture and upbringing. Raaf is a devout optimist who sees the good will of others and believes in their capacity for change and/ or redemption. However, Glukkons present a massive exception to the rule as they are active oppressors of his species and in his eyes the real enemy of his people. Raaf does his best to be kind to others and believes strongly in liberating all that are oppressed, ideally he would love to see Interns and Sligs join the Mudokon push for independence.

He can't stand infighting between Mudokons and has zero tolerance for bad manners or poor hygiene in his fellow workers. If they want to be seen as more than slaves, being unified and well kept should be their first steps. Much like Lil, Raaf has minimal belief in the coming of Abe. Although if the prophet did arrive Raaf would surely be willing to follow him.

Raaf likes hard work and is stubborn about getting a job done to completion. The only way he’ll quit is if he gets excessively dirty in the process, he does not like dirty jobs of any form and will avoid them at all costs. This results in some mild resentment from other Mudokons who have to fill his role and is not aided by the fact that Raaf is a hoarder. His habit of tinkering with whatever he can find to make art results in many a hidden junk stash shoved to some desolate corner of the work station. Usually for future projects that he’ll never actually get to.

Raaf finds joy turning old into new through arts and crafts. He would love nothing more than to hone his medium alone at peace in a shop environment. He enjoys hanging around mudokons who share his optimism and are varied in their beliefs. He may suck at debate but he’s a decent and more than willing teacher who loves to help others learn new things. Raaf does not have a mind for math or music yet he admires those who do and enjoys being in their company. Despite his relative disdain for Glukkons their culture and history is still very fascinating to him. This intrigue just as fairly applies to all of oddworld’s inhabitants as a whole. If he had access to better resources Raaf would have no problem becoming a learned scholar and historian.

Despite his odd looks, Raaf has never resented his appearance beyond wishing others weren't so intimidated by him. He is fascinated with the unique differences mudokon’s possess and would be interested in knowing if there are any other mudokons who resemble him. As much as he would like to return to his species' old spiritual ways, living out his days surrounded by his tribe and nature, Raaf does believe that the only way forward is through a mix of tribalism and industry.

21. Do you have any headcanons?

At first I was gonna say “no”, but after giving some time to myself to remember any - Yes I do! Most of them are, however, physiology and biology-related though, I hope that is okay!

General headcanons:

I think the evolution in oddworld is very versatile and it takes much less time for it to affect the species, to a point that a species can develop new body parts in a couple of generations. Or maybe even in the same one. And this, for example, I think what happened to the vykkers and interns - they had the same predecessor but evolved differently, because ones were utilizing their limbs in a much more fine work which required more arms with better accuracy.

Headcannons about mudokons:

Generally, they are NOT nice. I mean, why would they be? Their race have been on the brink of existence, their people are literally enslaved and treated poorly. That affects the overall mentality as the conditions are dictating them to be an asshole to survive. Yet, they still do have a feeling of unity which helps them to cooperate.

I consider mudokons to be more like reptiles than birds-brids, even thouh they evolved from them. While in our world birds evolved from dinosaurs, in the world of Odd it’s vice versa, I think that fact fits nicely to the universe. The odd evolution of Oddworld species, lol.

Headcanons about sligs:

I think they can come in differents patterns and hues of green. The patterns can be more or less visible, depending on the conditions they’re living in or their hormonal state (which is why I think big bro sligs have such a well-distinguished stripes). I also think that if you won’t bind the sligs’ legs, they actually will grow a pair of well-developed usable limbs.

Another headcanon of mine is that when the sligs are babies - they are more jelly-like and slimy like amphibians, but the older they get the sturdier and less slimy their skin gets, so in an adult state it reminds more of a reptile, this sums up with my evolution headcanon too.

I also think that the sligs can be raised as non-agressive pacifists, it’s just the conditions of the system they’re being put in trains them to be senseless killers.

Also yes, I think they do have bones in their tentacles.

Headcanons about glukkons:

If they are all on their own but have to engage in the fight, I imagine them holding a weapon in their mouth and doing moves like these:

Another headcanon of mine is that among of all sentient species, they are objectively the tastiest (like real octopi) but nobody knows about this. I love this headcanon solely because of how ironic it is, as they were the first to come up with the idea of turning sentient creatures into treats. Them literally throwing stones while living in a glass house themselves might work our for now, but if somebody will ever find out this secret - their wellbeing might go south real bad, real quick. Maybe some of the richest ones even turning cannibalistic, but I heard they are not the highest on the food chain.

Your opinion on: Darkwing Duck and Oddworld uwu

I like how you asked me for two things im just uttering in love with. I'll do oddworld first though cause I kond won't shut up about it around others pft.

Oddworld:

So kezzie is fully at fault at getting me intrested in this game series. Showed a photo of the mudokon pops and me being me said of eat the ones where it look loke the mud head on a pike cause I never really out grew my goth phase lol so I love all things spooky. Fun spooky scary spooky Halloween is my favorite holiday for a reason and I look like I celebrate it 25/8.

Anyway

This game is just so investing i love the world its set in i adore Abe hes gotta be one of my favorite charaters of all time and game protagonist. His empthay for others just makes me love him so much he is best boi ;3; and also needs a nap for all he's going through in these games. The design of the game has the early 2000 Xbox game aesthic i love and the humor is just so stright forward i can't help butnlaugh at how dry cut it can be at times. Bonus stuff for like the creatures of oddworld has me sucked in as well. I saw sligs and I love them forever even have an oc now who just took a bunch of they are thier new mommy now! Oc has a name now btw Marsh (like Marshall/ like swampy areas too so marsh) he just watches over the babies ;3;

Legit I spend a good part of my day taking in odd world content now cause I just want more of this world!!! I watched the cute scenes of game and i have like a few times now always laughing at the same things that happen haha. I bought the games and I cant wait to play them 030 I've definitely become waaaaay to invested into this series lol

Darkwing duck

Is forever and always gonna have my heart. I legit was born a fan lol one of my earlier memories as a small tot is laying on my moms bed watching darkwing duck with her. I constantly just would go through phases of focusing on it as well. Darke Mallard is my favorite charater forever I just find him unique and interesting and I find it funny just how kind of different the series its self is, Its a big comfort show for me. When even I'm down I just watch it I own some VHS of the show to this day and compared most series this is something I've spent year invested in but I love seeing others thoughts on the series. When DT 17 did the darkwing epsiode I legit lost my shit at the end and still do everytime haha.

Its hard to full write how much I llve this series and the impact its had on me i think the best part is years later I wound up meeting some cool people because of this show and the resurgence it has just make me giddy because well I love this show the main cast, the side charaters the villian man do I love the villians! I play jackbow bearly every weekend with some friends and one time a darkwing duck promt came on and I'm still mad I didn't get the prompt u_u.

I can honestly go on forever about darkwing duck because it jjst one of those things I grew up with and have a strong attachment to. I'm aware of some negatives course its not perfect but the stuff I love it for are what I celebrate the most out of the series. I wanna hope to go back to cons next year so I really wanna make a darkwing duck cosplay for that haha also I legit have a crush on Drake mallard and my god of people saw the hours spent on head cannons and such I have typed out before they would likely never look at me the same again haha I once stayed up a full night jjst dishing out headcannons on a discord once. I have thoughts and more on everything darkwing but I'm so bad about sitting down and writing or else I'd likely have way more fanfiction out there for the series haha.

The most interesting head cannon I have is that there are birds, octopi, and mollusks that are the equivalent of apes on oddworld.

I’m sorry I got nothing very interesting in terms of headcannons.
