@asswatthama sorry for the delay, but i finally remembered to post the photos of my Oda Kippoushi cosplay from last year's Anime Weekend Atlanta, and wanted to share them and the process with you since you helped me out some. This was my first serious cosplay, and while there are some areas that ill work on before going as him again for Momocon, i really like how it turned out. The undershirt and jeans were bought from general retailers (forever 21, ross), with the vest and apron made by my mother. The boots, hat, and gun were bought from aliexpress. The boots, even though i selected the smallest option, were slightly too big, so i wore two pairs of socks and rolled up the jean legs to give some buffer. The hat that arrived had a crest that sucked, so some members of my college's anime club helped find me a guy on fiverr to make a cad model of the crest to be printed out, though the spikes are off center and the inner flower of the Oda crest is upside down :P. i did not have the time or resources to make the gun as you did, but with the crowd at the convention, the gun being that large wouldnt have really worked. The belt was the one thing that was only made by me. I bought white and black eva foam and sprayed the white strip gray (need to apply more, smudging off). the charms were 3d printed and sprayed gold, and gold wire from when my mother used to make jewelry was painstakingly used to make the rings. I originally bought a slab of the foam you recommended to me for the buckle, but the difficulty in carving led to me using more eva. The buttons for the hair ribbon and vest were also 3d printed. I used cardstock for the patterns for the flowers on the jeans and apron pattern. I was going to use mousse and spray to get my (then long) hair into something more resembling the floof, but gave up the day of. Ill use your method for making the wig in the spring. i was also never going to use contacts so i could see, so i settled on clip-on sunglasses (because he's cool), that i promptly lost on the second day. sorry for the spiel, and thank you so much for your help!

It's going around a bit (initially this was going to be an ask for @hasarjunadoneanythingwrong and then it got too long, and er sorry for the ping, your post just got me thinking a lot) but I think a lot of people are missing the point when it comes to why people complain about the lack of bisexuality in fate. It's not like everyone is completely ignorant to Rin's bisexual awakening in fsn, or you being able to go full Yuri with Nero in Extella. It's moreso that while type/moon are able to handle girl/girl just fine, they are seemingly completely unwilling to approach any male/male romances in a serious way. It's not that bisexual women aren't bisexual, that's stupid to say. But if you have an equal number of male and female servants, and have plenty of bisexual or even lesbian girls, as a bisexual male I am allowed to be disappointed by the complete lack of the opposite.

They never overtly say anything homophobic, but they do literally everything they can do avoid outright mentioning male/male pairings. They have never mentioned Patroclus, despite him being a major part of not just Achilles, but the Illiad as a whole, all while adding Penthisaela as an entire character. The only canon 'yaoi' pairing (Gil x Enkidu, and I say yaoi loosely) made sure to have Enkidu simultaneously be non-binary and take on the appearance of a woman. They quite literally demoted Nameless to side character due to Extella being more focused on romance. There's a whole bunch of minor stuff easy to miss as well, like, has anyone ever wondered why exactly they added the Trung Sisters as is, but felt the need to genderbend Pollux?

I could rant on more and more, but I think it's easy to point to one in-game event as being emblematic of what I mean, Valentines. Nearly every girl has an overtly or at least implicitly romantic valentines, comes with the territory. It doesn't change or matter if you're playing as Gudako or Gudao, it all stays the same, especially with early servants where it's just "teehee it's valentines day/oh it's valentines day" depending on how tsundere there are, they hand you chocolate, and then blush.png, they are never afraid to imply or outwardly say that at the very least Carmilla finds you cute.

Compare that to male valentines scenes, where genuinely I think there are less than 10 with any romantic vibes. A grand majority of them are closer to friendship than anything, and play out more like mini-interludes. And even of the ones that are romantic, much less than overt about it. Is Saito maybe being romantic when he says he wants to take you away from Chaldea and live alone? Probably. Is Taigong Wang trying to imply something when he takes you to the same river he took his wife too? Probably. Are they ever going to outwardly say it? Absolutely not, at least not when they're trying to take it seriously.

As you mentioned previously characters like Fergus and Bartholomew are the only exceptions, because yeah they'll call you hot and offer to fuck but that's because they want to fuck literally anything (anything with bangs for the latter), the joke is they're so horny it transcends sexuality. Genuinely the only male that comes to mind with a full on, "I have feelings for you" played straight is Oda Kippoushi (and even his gender situation is... Weird? Just a bit). Mori comes close, but even his ends with him looking at you as more of a friend, and quickly skirts away from topics of romance.

In fact, this disparity between male and female servants can be easily seen in Kid Gil's interlude of all things. In it he mentions a waterpark he was creating, and then you two fantasize about the type of servants there

It's played completely straight, just a bunch of summer servants that you and Gil fawn over. Immediately after, he starts rambling about how while he doesn't swing that way, there are all kinds of people at the park

And to show this off they... Turn it into a joke. Edison and Blackbeard as there. Compared to a bunch of servant girls fawning over you it's a bunch of men (none of which even had summer skins at the time), talking about working out and growing food, with Blackbeard yelling about how it's a bunch of servants with no story significance.

However, the absolute worst part is what Gudao can say in response to the fantasies. With the girls you get a single one, that you love the idea of it.

With the men however, you get two options, "hey that doesn't sound too bad" in which Gil just kinda disagrees and then moves on to the end. And then one where you literally outloud show your disgust towards the male choice, Gil scolds you for making him think of it, and he bans all adult men from the pools. I never really think of it but this is probably one of the most homophobic scenes in fgo lmao.

Regardless, the whole point of this was moreso that as a bisexual man myself, these kinds of things do kind of lodge themselves into my brain. Nobody has to like yaoi or anything, that's ridiculous, but when they go out of there way so often to avoid outright showing anything homosexual... It kind of just hurts. Even just a singular gay man would be nice, even if it probably would just be a joke about how they want to slobber on muscles or love femboys something. But there just... Isn't, there's a few vaguely implied mentions of gay men or bisexual men, but they will never expand on it or show it off to the same degree as they do with women, and I just wish there was more of it.

Hello, for a year and a half, I have been wanting to cosplay Oda Kippoushi. While I have purchased the fabric for the vest and apron, as well as ordering the top, jeans, boots, hat and gun, the outer belt has puzzled me whenever I look at it. I am unsure of the materials to use, or how the brass bars attach to the rest of the belt, considering the belt buckle would get in the way. Luckily, you are the sole Kippoushi cosplayer I have found, so I was wondering if you could tell me how you made the outer belt. Thank you very much!

omg i’ve been neck deep in physician assistant school for the past year and stressing about moving away from home for the months before that i haven’t even hardly thought about cosplay in so long, the fact you’re even asking me this makes me so happy

so i actually have plans to remake the belt, mainly because it came out too glossy for my liking and the way i did the belt charms were good short-term, but it doesn’t stand the test of time. the base of the belt is made of worbla which is pricey but a lot can go a long way. you could also use EVA foam. then i used what’s called XPS foam for the buckle part, which is a type of sturdy but lightweight insulation foam you can get from lowe’s or home depot, it’s super cheap, and i carved out the shape and details of the buckle with a dremel. and for the charms i used thin EVA foam sheets from walmart and i bought some gold rings on amazon to attach them to the belt. i originally coated the charms in epsilon resin but i think that ended up making them more brittle so next i’m just gonna seal the foam with a heat gun and then prime the hell out of it to get rid the pores and then paint them. hope this helps!

Ah yes! The most forgotten of all Nobbu, which is impressive considering Katsu and Gudaguda 3 Nobu are so often left out.

Kippoushi has an interesting design when it comes to making a character. All the other Nobbu wear a period inappropriate military uniform combined with Japanese symboltry (mostly towards the oda clan). Kippoushi kinda dropics the uniform aspect of it to go with something more casual which I've also felt gives him a more laidback vibe compared to lady Nobus. Also his sprite art has him with a BFG most of the time. The whole point of making an oc off of a submitted face claim, imo, is to craft someone that fits the expression of their design so I find the feeling I get when I look at him real important to consider.

Had I not already used Ashigaru and Fusilier in the post where a bunch of random guild members were shown I think that either could work as a fitting guild title. Desperado could also work with the backstory I have in mind but that's taken too. Unfortunate, I've really written myself into a corner for this challenge. I shall instead dub them Wanderer.

Goshima, the land of the five islands, bears a stark resemblance to our own world's early Sengoku era. While the divine emperor nominally rules from his palace in Izumishima, much of the land's true power lay in the hands of feudal lords. The Daimyo and the samurai that serve them. For centuries the five (later seven) Daimyo ruled as a council known as the Bakufu but within that last century the order which shackled the council together has shattered. Plotting and schemes to take power has destroyed the council.

For the last fifty years, the warlord descendants of the Last Bakufu have jockeyed against one another for power. Forming brief alliances and sending armies of samurai to do battle across the continent. Wanderer is the sole remaining heir of one of those samurai clans. As a retainer clan to the Yamashima Daimyo, Wanderer was raised in the town of Nakaichi. Scion to one of the many farming estates in the town's countryside. His clan was a small one, the distance branch of a far more important family.

As a samurai, wanderer was expected to serve in the Daimyo's conflicts. He cut his teeth leading peasant militas in land grabs over the kawajuku plains but was eventually able to earn distinction in the siege of Taishi Castle. Leading the vanguard in taking the most important fortress on Yamashima should have called for some titles of renown. Fate had other plans.

Wanderer's father, the patriarch of their clan, was accused of betraying the Daimyo in a plot with another Daimyo. Wanderer has never come to learn if this was true or not but chooses to believe it was false. Authentic or not the Daimyo called for the heads of Wanderer and his father. His location at Taishi Castle left him with an easy escape route from Goshima as a whole but it meant abandoning his clan. He made the decision he felt was right and fled by way of other refugees to the Goshiman colony of Rokkujima on the MokuMoku Islands.

Initially he took work as a bodyguard for the merchant clans of the island, however, once the Daimyo of Rokkujima discovered his identity things changed. Rokkujima is not a formal part of Goshima and its self-declared Daimyo is not formally one of the seven but he hopes to be. Harboring a fugitive would send the wrong impressions for his fellow Daimyo and so Wanderer was set into exile. They made no attempt to stop him from traveling south to the main island. In fact, the Daimyo even put him in contact with the guild Beauty & Beast. His fate could be worse but Wanderer was once again forced to Wander.

The word of the daimyo made it easy enough to join. That was roughly five years ago now, making Wanderer one of the middle members of the fourth generation of Beauties. The sort who likes to roam, he prefers taking contracts that involve long stints of travel as a bodyguard. Serving high class merchants and the like.

Wander himself, despite his past, generally has a laid back attitude. One who did not know him particularly well may even consider him to be carefree. In his heart he harbors a lot of guilt over having abandoned his clan and doubt about the legacy of his father but those aren't the sort of thing a wanderer can dwell on. So he prefers to push it back and keep moving forward.

Wanderer primarily is skilled at ranged combat. He makes use of Goshiman spellslinging techniques to place minor enchantments onto his ammunition. As a samurai he does have some training with his katana but its really only for defense if an opponent gets close. Generally he works best when paired with frontliners.

"Let's all do our best out there and make it home in one piece, alright? You shouldn't have anything to prove so nothing flash or heroic!"
