On this day, Ringo Starr blows bubbles into a glass of water.

As far as I know, this is a first and last for a major recording artist, at least on tape (on purpose), and I don't see any point in checking that.

Between Paul's and John's rather passionate songs on Abbey Road about being broken up with and nearly breaking down and dying, and wanting someone so bad it's driving you mad, respectively, we have one of two songs Ringo ever wrote that made it on a Beatles record: a little ditty daydreaming about being in an octopus's garden. I think he's so real for that. The tonal dissonance really resonates with me.
