Another octonauts Oc! Meet Simon, he’s a petrologist :) (he also has adhd and anxiety)

He most likely finds animals by complete accident, and also he being fairly clumsy also somewhat gets in the way. But due to him finding other animals along his studies, he can tell other about the weird situations he’s been in

He’s close friends with Tracker due to them having similar personalities, they infodump to eachother.

He’s also close friends with Marcy (other Oc of mine), Marcy kinda being his foil.  But due to both being trans, Marcy broke of some of her horns so Simon can have them :)

I had a mental breakdown trying to put stuff together for the Asks so I decided to post something I had already sketched out, and I mean . . . seratonin am I right??? I totally don’t have baby fever rn, no sirrrrr.

Anyways, FUN IDEA with you guys! The Octonauts community! While I kept myself busy, I was thinking about how interesting your guys OC’s are when I posted Ferris the Meteorologist. And, I myself, made some OC kids and got inspired by @animalsalvationassociation ‘s work (sorry for @). It aall got me ponderin’…

So the other day, I was drawing three oc kids of mine as the “Next Generation” Octonauts and I realized how lonely and blank they are. They need friends :( !!!!

Let’s band together to become OctoAgents guys!! Doesn’t that sound like fun? :D *social anxiety settin in* anyways, basically I want to include your OC’s with the Next Gen Octonauts, as like a project. We don’t gotta explain the Lore but here are the girls :

As you can tell, not a lot of excitement, that’s because they don’t got members yet! So that’s why I need you! Yeah, not a hard ask. Totally.

As to how I’m going to do this? Maybe some Chain Art? If you don’t know what that is, I’m not actually sure how to explain, this used to be a big thing in Sony Sketch. But maybe I’ll draw a big group photo. It is sort of hard to do most of these since I actually can’t have Online conversations or friends, yes I am allowed to post art but I am only a tiny bit insanely lonely.

I FINALLY finished my Tiny Octonauts AU drawings!!

Got a TINY (heh) bit lazy towards the end just because they all took so LONG to make. This is my first time drawing most of the octonauts, so their designs are probably gonna change a LOT. I'll make a post explaining this AU more probably tomorrow, but school just started today for me, so no promises. I'm also gonna make more of these drawings, both with my own OCs and the octoagents, as well. EVENTUALLY. I'm not gonna say soon because it took me over two weeks just to finish this first one-

Found Family AU: Octoark crew

I removed my old post of this since I had to remove some of my OCs to make the AU less crowded although I did keep Brutus (with a slight redesign) and the Bearries since I already had them drawn in another post.

The Canon Characters: Bianca - She now works as a Octoagent stationed in the Octoark. When not on a mission, she usually helps her children and nephews with their polar scouts.

Pogo - Peso's older brother who now works as the Octoark's medic.

Hugo - He now works in the Octoark as an Octoagent helping Pogo in the medbay or helping Harry in search and rescue missions.

Harry - The Octoark's detective and search and rescue specialist.

Squirt - Residence of the Octoark and is studying to be a professor just like his uncle. The Octoark project was his idea that he pitched to his uncle to solve the Octonauts' food shortages and lack of facilities.

OCs: Barnius - The Captain of the Octoark and one of the cousins of Barnacles and Bianca. Since the Octoark is usually docked for long periods of time, he usually accompanies Barnacles.

Barneus - Works for the Octonauts as a pilot and resides with his twin brother in the Octoark. He's trained by Dashi as her co-pilot in the Octoray, the only aircraft he cannot fly by himself.

Brutus - Trained by Tweak, he now works as the Octoark's engineer, in his spare time he tends to the Octoarks farm along with his children.

Bearries - The vegimal equivalent for the Octoark and Brutus' plant-bear children. similar to the vegimals, where the Bearries came from is a mystery, they just suddenly sprouted from the Octoark's rooftop farm.

More ocs!, Meet Marcy. She’s a part of an animal rescue team called “Re-cu”. But her issue is that most animals are afraid of her.   Not even because she’s mean, she’s just strong and scary

She’s childhood friends with Simon, despite their opposite, Marcy’s terrible luck scarring animals, and Simon’s finding animals.Marcy is currently trying to find out why she’s scary

The only way she has gotten animals to stay is by keeping her voice sooth.

Meet Madako, the Agent 8 of the OA universe. Heavily based off Beta Pearl.

Madako knew Octo Agent 3, and a bunch of other octoling soldiers (I wonder who they could be) that eventually went AWOL and defected. Leaving her alone to pick up the pieces and struggle to understand why they left her behind. Leading to nothing but anger and resentment, resulting in her coming to the misguided conclusion that the inklings had brainwashed them all, leading to a blinding hatred of all inklings.

That hatred indirectly lead to her ending up in the Deep Sea Metro, having had her memories wiped completely. Leaving her to try and pick up the pieces all over again.

tl:dr: abandonment issues leads to racism leads to lobotomy

You seemed really excited to talk about your OCs last time, so I have elected to ask again! What's Octo Agent and 4's relationship like? They seem fairly prominent in this story, so it would be very cool to know :)

Four and Octo agent were actually friends long before Four became an agent. In between S1 and S2, Octo agent had gotten an apartment just outside of Inkopolis Square along with a part time job at Grizzco, where the two met for the first time. Four found themself enamored by OA and how different he looked from other inklings, yet was totally unaware that OA…was not in fact an inkling. OA didn’t really bother to tell them either, liking just being seen as an inkling like everyone else (even if this sort of validation came from deception).

Fast forward a bit in time, the Zapfish is stolen (again). OA’s called back to agent duty, but it’s clear this time he’s gonna need a plus 1 to help out.

He decided, what better plus one than your best friend? So he brung Four along with him to Octo Canyon, and BEGGED Marie to let them join the NSBS, which ultimately, she did. And this, Four became….Four!

The two began going on missions together, during which romantic feelings began flourishing on both ends for each-other. But neither of them wanted to admit it out of fear of rejection, which was ironic.

At the same time though, Four was beginning to get juuuust a little suspicious of OA. Those enemy octolings looked awfully familiar, don’t you think? But still, they were never quite able to put 2 and 2 together.

…Until Agent 8 came along.

But that’s a story (and an unfinished character design) for another day.

But TL;DR: Four is a best friend turned oblivious love interest, for now.

What is their deal I love them

I’m sosoisoso glad you asked I’ve beeen thinking about this little dudes backstory for so long and not I can finally spill the beans (it’s still somewhat of a rough draft but I’ve got some of the main details down)

I don’t have a name for him yet so for all intensive purposes his name is just octo agent for now, he’s a trans man btw just gotta note that

He was born to an octoling mother and an inkling father (who for obvious reasons wasn’t present in his life at all), but nobody could really tell because in my Splatoon universe inktolings don’t exist. Instead, the hybrid child usually is the species of the mother with some holdover traits from the father (as you can see little octo agent over here took the eye mask, sharp ears, and slightly shorter than the average octoling height from his father). His mom was able to chalk these traits off as simple defects, keeping the secret of her relationship with the enemy.

Because of his half inkling heritage, by default his general mindset was..different from the average octoling. The propaganda never really worked on him, he was more fun loving and rebellious than the other octolings. He had a gut feeling there was more to life than just the army. He just never knew how to access it.

He excelled in his training classes and even became an elite octoling, but found himself the subject of relentless teasing and bullying by his elite peers due to his differences in mindset and appearance, which only reinforced his desire to escape this life.

Little known to him, what was meant to be a recon mission in upper Octo Valley became that ticket to freedom, yap yap yap he convinced Capn Cuttlefish to let him be Agent 3 (after LOTS and I mean LOTS of pestering).

The rest is history!

admittedly the story is a bit flawed, but honestly I just wanted to have fun making this guy. I really enjoy drawing him in all his stupid glory

After defecting from the army and joining the NSBS, OA finally got to immerse himself into inkling society, and inkling culture fully like he had always wanted to. But in this newfound life, he also found himself with a new life problem.

Not fitting in. He was now surrounded by solely inklings, not another octoling in sight (at least, he assumed as inklings were all he saw.).

Further complicating things, he was like inklings, being half inkling himself. But he wasn’t one. He knew that deep down, even if others didn’t see it and just saw him as “the weird one”.

He yearned to just be…an inkling. Not “a weird inkling”, but just…an inkling. Like everyone else. He just wanted to fit in.

But unlike his gender dysphoria, the solution to his species dysphoria was unobtainable. Which ate at him constantly.

Speaking of his gender dysphoria. Being an octoling soldier, he was obviously born a girl. Raised as one. Expected to be one his whole life. But with his newfound freedom, he saw a world where…girls could be whatever they wanted, not just a soldier. They could even be…a boy, if they wanted to.

He wanted to be a boy. All his life he couldn’t express it in words, nor could he explain the feeling. But he wanted to be a man. Being seen as one made him feel, more whole.

This dysphoria was much easier to solve than the species dysphoria of course. Use your old armor as a binder and just call yourself a guy. Inkling society just kinda rolls with it.

It was freeing.

And yet, inner turmoil still remained. And he never fully got over it, not until the end of Octo Explansion. Where Eight taught him, and inkling society at large that…hey, octolings…..these little critters aren’t that bad after all! And that it was okay to be an octoling. And well.

You know what I’m gonna say, the rest is history.

posting a wip of Agent 8’s design for my Octoling agent 3 au cause I’m proud of it so far

It’s not 100% finalized but it’s close.

Also, if they look familiar, they should. I decided to repurpose Beta Pearl’s design since I really like how she looks. Honestly, I would’ve love to see her used in an official capacity, just not in the place of Pearl though. Maybe her own separate little character..but I’m getting off track.

Working on some octonaut ocs, meet Temo the Owl!!

He’s an animal researcher and journalist! He tracks down everything he notices in his notebook.

He (was) part of a on-land animal study group (I don’t have a name for them yet, but I might call it Winged Paws). He was still part of the group when he was an octoagent, but he soon (after some training) got the permission to be an Octonaut :)

When he became and octonaut, he got made a water proof version of his notebook, he also kept his octo-watch. Not only is he an animal researcher now, but when on missions, he can also call other members through his octo-watch.

The reason his watch is on his ankle is because he gets uncomfy with it being on his wrist, it stimulated him in a bad way.
