I think it’s important we still celebrate oct19 and for several reasons —

-One of course this year being that many many people will have not seen the show or spoilers before then and will still very much be unaware of the significance of That Week In December or in December as a whole

-And another being that oct19 for many years, certainly the last 10+ years, has moreso been a phannie high holiday where we take part in our traditions especially of making phanworks or having discussions, than it has been a public day of acknowledgment by dan and phil.

While I think it’s valuable and special and significant that dnp have chosen to share with us after nearly fifteen years that their anniversary is in December, I think our big day, the phannies’ big day of oct19 still should go on✨

Several new Moncolle will be released among a few re-releases (Megas Charizard Y, Venusaur, and Blastoise, Keldeo and Deoxys, Mimikyu, and Sylveon. They had a Lapras and Snorlax before, but they changed some aspects as far as I could tell.)

Clodsire, Captain Pikachu and Lapras release Oct3

Raging Bolt and Gouging Fire release Oct19

Kilowattrel, Hattrem, and Snorlax release Nov23.

There's also a gacha machine coming out that has some old Moncolle figures releasing Nov9.

October Diaries

Since I had not posted anything in October, here's a general summary of my notes regarding what I did each week...

Sep 29-Oct5: Posted the survey; Collecting responses and B-roll. I had noticed that I didn't get as much responses from the kids as I would've liked so I asked around including my 11 year old brother to share with his buddies.

Oct6-Oct12: Continued working on my script for the presentation. Even just the intro is sooooo long (5min). I hadn't even gotten to my methodology. So I gave it a rest thinking that I should focus on getting my responses first.

Oct13-Oct19: Nothing, I didn't work on it till Oct 23.

Oct20-Oct26: I got plenty more kids to answer the survey so I started my essay and revised the introduction and background paragraphs for my newly reformed research question “How will character design within the cute niche evolve within the 21st century?” I had also started working on the second survey again but deleted a lot of query questions.

Oct27-Nov2: Continued jumping between working on the essay and survey. I just couldn't decide which was more important to get done first. Eventually I agreed that the essay is the most important because that's where majority of my work is while the survey is just further confirmation of my research and will provide the end design. I also figured that since the responders are creating the design, it will take up the least amount of time.
