the fact ocean shares so many similarities in some points of her childhood with Penny (Parents smoking weed. Parents being hippies. Finding/receiving an album or disc and finding new hope, etc) is really interesting. Because obviously the choir are sort of outcasts in a way, and the way Ocean and Penny made their way in the school environment (Ocean being a high-acheiver, Penny having passion for academics but being shut down) and idk just thinking thoughts
