Also in this film, the phrase "Will die young" is often repeated in the soundtracks. And the film is about a boy who lost his beloved parent. AND also the irony that he dreamed of riding a roller coaster LIKE HA LOL-

Ocean is a satire of capitalism and she herself fell for the myth of "everyone can become a leader if they try hard" the hardest

(in fact i consider ocean's parents a satire of 'leftist' goverments failing its people again and again, which is known to push people into more pro-capitalistic ideas, just like ocean)

Mischa actively critizices CEOs morality and how stuff such as healthcare shouldnt be a way of peofit for the rich (also TSIA is a clear mockery of the rich/or how working class people like Mischa can only dream of having that absurd wealth)

Ricky gives a wonderdul speech about how religion should be about loving each other and not hating each other.

Noel's lament entire point is how the situation is presented as a romantized tragedy of stuff like war, sex work, the overall tragedy of being a woman in vulnerable times. While the song's backing vocals are saying the horrible truth behind that stuff but its being ignored by the viewer who is focusing on Noel's performance (this reminds me of Cabaret as a whole)

Theres probably a whole lot more of political and social commentary throught the musical (and im not even getting started on Legoland's social commentary) that im missing but yeah, surprise, the musical that has as the main plot a democracy with equal vote for everyone and ends with casually the girl who sang about class superiority and social darwinism being the only one who holds the power of decision, is political. Who would have thought/sarc
